I would say that Australia are just in front after the first days play. If India can get to 300 runs then I think that is a good score for a day/night test match. Everyone must remember that day/night test matches are very tough to bat especially at night which we saw once again. India should be able to reach 300 runs before the night session and that's when Australia could be batting so it will be interesting to see how well the Indian bowlers bowl at night so even though it doesn't look good for India right now, we shall see when Australia first bat which will most likely be at night where the conditions are tough for batsman.

India is just 17 runs away from 250, and they still have 4 wickets in hand. It won't be that hard for them to get to a total above 300. But a lot will depend on the 7th wicket partnership between Ashwin and Saha. Till now, both of them looked very confident. The pitch is very supportive of pace bowling, and if they get to 250-300, then the advantage will be with the Indians.

What happened yesterday between Rahane and Kohli is the primary reason for India's current situation. They both were playing well and because of Rahne, this partnership was broken. If they both would have played till the end of day one the score on board would have been very different from what it is now.

Among the lower order yes, Ashwin can bat and stick to the wicket, recently Bumrah did show he can to stay on the wicket and bat but I am not at all confident about Yadav. Let's see what happens today, a score of 350 or more would look decent and competitive on the board

Poor from Ashwin and Saha. They did all the hard work last night and gone early today without adding much runs. I doubt if India can even survive long enough in this inning. couple of yorkers from fast bowlers and Indian inning is done..

240/9 now. Umesh Yadav getting out to a very unnecessary shot. India was 233/6 and now they have lost three wickets for seven runs. The credit should go to Mitchell Starc, but at the same time the Indian batsmen got out playing horrible looking shots. Had they got to 250, then it would have given them a psychological advantage and boosted the morale of the Indian bowlers.

Pat Cummins give the final bite on the Indian innings, and the visitors are all out for 244. Just imagine Indian innings 188-3 to 244 all out. A worst performance indeed, and this is the reality of outside India, always struggling outside. Anyways, well done Aussie's.

It was somewhat decent performance, given that the pitch gave a lot of support for the pace bowlers. But then, some of the Indian batsmen got out to useless shots. And the run-out of Virat Kohli was entirely unnecessary. Anyway, now it is up to the Indian bowlers. All the three pace bowlers are in good form, and key Australian players such as Warner are not playing in this match. IMO, it is still 50/50.

Why is Warner not in the team, India is bowling really well and both the openers are back in the pavilion and now their main player Steve Smith is in the crease and the match depends upon how much runs he is going to score and if India is able to pick up his wicket then the match will be in favor of India and if India is able to score a decent second innings total then India has a chance but there is plenty of time in this match and anyone can win from this position.

The partnership between Smith and Labuschagne is extremely important for Australia, because these two are their best batsmen. If India can get either of them cheaply, then they will be having an advantage in this match. Jasprit Bumrah seems to be in very good form, and therefore I would like to see him bowling another lengthy spell to Smith/Labuschagne immediately after the lunch break.

Things didn't go in the way as I predicted, the last four wickets went for just 11 runs and its normal at the beginning of each day.Well, Indian bowlers is striking back the OZ batting line up and Bumbrah got both openers in his early spells which might give enough confidence for the remaining bowlers to do the same.

At the end of day 2's first session, Aus scored 35/2 which is trails by 209 runs.

Indian fans must be enjoying all the sessions, Indians are all over the Aussie but job is not done yet. Opposition tailenders always do well against Indians. As of now main wicket is Marnus Labuschagne, who is riding his luck today, already 3 dropped catches.

They need to change how they play cricket, from aggressive world class players who dominated every team they are play a different brand of cricket which is not exciting and a run rate of just 2 and even though India is missing the catches and giving them opportunities Australia failed to make any impact.

Bowlers doing their job beautifully but fielders letting down their bowlers. first they gave 3 chances to Marnus and now Aggarwal dropped Tim Paine.. If they want to win the game then wrap it up as quickly as possible.

Tim Paine trying desperately to take Australia beyond the 200 mark. I don't think that they will be able to get in to a lead, but if they can keep India's lead below 50 runs, then they have a fighting chance in this match. Surprised with the performance from Ashwin. The track hardly gave any support to the spinners and yet he managed to pick up four very important wickets.

Alright as you wished India completed day 2 with the loss of only 1 wicket and got the lead of 62 runs, Prithvi Shaw failed again which clearly shows why experience is more important in a red ball cricket. But from on both teams need to play extremely well to win this match because it is not possible to draw this match from here so either a win or a loss for each team to face at the end of this match.

Am not surprised at all to be honest. Ashwin and Jadeja have been the best Indian spin bowling combo for a while now primarily overseas.

These guys pile on the pressure by making the batsmen waste balls who usually go on to play bad shots and get out in the process. Is Jadeja injured or something? Why isn't he a part of this match?

As expected that if India lose early wicket at start of the day they will end up quickly and happened the same way. But the way India wrapped up OZ for just 191 is highly commendable and Ashwin and Yadav were superb in their spells. Unfortunately, bad start again for Shaw and losing a early wicket this time as well. But good thing is that India has a lead of now 62 runs and somewhere 300+ target if set for OZ then would be difficult for them in the 4th innings.
