Even though almost half the day was lost Pakistan look to be in a good position with just 2 wickets down for 139 runs. Hopefully tomorrow we get a full days play and Pakistan can post a decent total of 400+ as that will be a competitive total batting first. If there is no rain interruption then we will see a good match as Pakistan is trying to build partnership and the plan England will be having is to somehow break this partnership and i am not aware of the batting dept of Pakistan and it will be a good test for these young players and i was checking the profiles of Pakistan bowlers and looks like they have bowlers will good pace and whether they can trouble the England batsman is to be seen.

------- Edit : Damn Azhar Ali ! You wasted the review, perks of being Captain ... 43/2 You are right now he need to be mature but sadly still no. From now on every team has 3 DRS so they don't seem to hesitate when challenging umpire's call so it happens lol Anyway Good thing is future legend "Babar Azam" of world cricket still there at crease, so everything going good for Pakistan. ------- Guys IPL pool is starting from the next month, please drop your name if interested.. That is the big pro here. As long as Azam stays out in the middle, the other players will support him with high confidence. Currently, Masood is supporting him by playing a proper test innings. Am expecting Pakistan to post a 350+ target from here on out with Azam being the crucial wicket which is more than enough in my opinion unless rain interrupts play which could cause the match to end in a draw.

For England's perceptive defeating Pakistan would be very difficult task if Pakistan even cross 300 mark, Pakistan's bowlers are no dummy despite English batsmen are in good form and high in confidence. The only worrisome fact is Pakistan as a team has a bad habit of choking but hey they are not batting last so that's good news. Babar Azam is on road of being All time great, next 3-4 years are very crucial for him. --------------------------- Edit 1 Day 2 > Last bowl of the first over > Anderson got Babar Azam!!! 139/3 ---------------------------- Edit 2 One more wicket (Asad), Opener Shan Massod still batting tho... 150/4

After 4 wickets and 150 runs on board I feel England are back into the test. I do not think Pakistani players will be able to bat the whole day today. While Babar Azam was batting it felt like Pakistan will easily cross 300 now it seems 250 would be a good score.

Its very difficult for them to touch 250 because now they all are in pressure and Pakistan is never been good in these conditions last pair is one crease if they able to bat some more time then surely touch 250+ otherwise 200+ is ok for them after Babar and Asad Shan already with 2 lifelines now third is not available for him as well.

Lunch Break
Pakistan = 187/5
3 quick wickets not helping Pakistan's cause. Shan Masood still showing resilience but playing very slow, New ball is due after few overs so it would be better if he pick up some pace and move scoreboard a bit before 2nd new ball comes in a play. Shadab Khan knows how to swing bat, not a bad idea if he steps up.
One good thing is Pitch looking good for spin as well, Dominic Bess is getting good amount of turn, likes of Yasir Shah can expect same treatment.
Edit 1
Very positive cricket from the Massod and Shadab, they added 54 runs in just 10 overs after lunch. England need breakthrough and they are trying hard.
4th test 100 for Shan Massod......

Today Shan Masood playing his career best inning even with two chances but now very good and important role for Pakistan if they able to have 40 to 50 more runs then surely this is going a positive impact for Pakistan team and bowlers will also bowl with confidence hopefully we will have some interesting cricket in coming days without any rain.

He was playing ridiculously slow before the lunch but he did changed the gear after that. Was fortunate enough to watch this moment. I was watching this test for Babar Azam tho... As of now score is 326/9 and everything is bonus from here. Pakistan is fav now IMO considering England team has a habit of losing first game of almost every series. ------- Edit1 : Pak - 326 all out ------- Edit 2 Lol 4th ball of the 2nd inning and wicket..... ------- Edit 3 England : 13/2 ------- Edit 4 Holy shit Ben Stokes gone, England is in deep deep deep mess 12/3

Cheesy I am watching this match and feeling England takes Pakistan very easy as they won against West Indies and they have feeling we can beat them very easily so they are now feeling heat.

Looks like this is a repeat of the England vs West Indies series. Even during that series, England was complacent in the first match and as a result of it they lost the match. Here, I would rather congratulate the Pakistani pacers, who backed up the work done by their batsmen in an excellent way. Anyway, still it is too early to predict the outcome of this match.

I am pretty sure that Pakistan will win this one by a decent margin unless rain interferes which could end the match in a draw which I hope doesn't happen since Pakistan deserves the win here. Root is hanging on currently, but his recent form makes me feel that he won't stay for long out in the middle. They got the big fish(Stokes) very quickly which is the turning point.

Now ENG is 70/4, Root gone. But I am not very sure that Pakistan is going to win this match with a big margin, maybe a close fight but not by a big margin. ENG can comeback well in their second innings. If you see that Pakistani 1st innings, you can find that only 3 (Masood, Babar and Shadab) performed and all others lost their wickets for a single-digit score. But the first innings will undoubtedly provide the Paks a good lead of 150+ runs, so the chance for Pak winning this match is bright though.

Is there any drawback if Pakistan does not win by big margin ? The matches are between two good teams and you should not expect big margin wins in this series. Pakistan did bat well and now it is up to their bowlers and fielders to get their grip firm on the match.

I just tuned in and was really surprised to see the score card specially Shan Masood make 156. I have not seen the Pakistan batting in the morning but will surely see the day's highlights. It will be interesting to see how England will come back in the match as they have the habit of bouncing back from such situations.

A win is a win irrespective of the margin and if Pakistan can defeat England in their home ground it will give a huge confidence boost to the Pakistan young players. The bowlers are putting the pressure on the England batsman as they already lost their top order and a couple of wickets in the morning session will drown them and if the weather is good we will see a result and a good battle.

I just check weather is ok for next two days now its all about Pakistan how they response because if they able to have 1 or 2 quick wickets in first session then surely they are on driving seat otherwise these two can steal this all and bring back Pakistan under pressure because both playing very good and attacking cricket which is good point for England and these batsmen.

Pope and Buttler are hanging on at the moment. It looks like their recent performances helped them out which is why this partnership is crucial. If Pakistan manage to remove them both quickly, they would have pretty much sealed the deal.
Afridi is good at removing tail-enders based on what I observed. If England continues to lose tests in this manner, they will never end up in the final top 3 of WTC rankings.

This match is turning into a great match to watch as Pakistan have dominated the match but England are fighting back so its going to be an interesting day 3 as to see whether England can get close to Pakistan's first innings total. Just like in the series against the WI, England have started off badly but with this partnership between Pope and Buttler they can help steady the ship and maybe post a good total. This will be the key partnership for England if they are to get anywhere near Pakistan's first innings total.
