India vs England Series schedule is out. It used to be 5 tests match series but this time they are playing only 4 Tests, may be due to covid?

3 ODI Match Series

1st- March 23, Pune
2nd- March 26, Pune
3rd- March 28, Pune

Well.... let me put it this way - 20 days of test cricket, 5 days of T20 and 3 days of ODI. So once again, the emphasis is given to the longer format. I am not sure whether they should play more than 3 test matches per bilateral series. They could have instead scheduled two more ODI matches. I am a big supporter of triangular/quadrangular series, but as of now it looks as if the BCCI is not interested in such tournaments.

ODI and T20 matches are perfectly fine, but for test match either it should have been 3 if not able to adjust the 5 matches. If due to Covid just in case it has cut down from 5 to 4 then better could have being make it to 3 test and 5 ODI rather than 3 as this would have more interest among larger audiences who would have watched ODI rather than those ignoring the test matches due to 5 days.

I am also waiting to watch the game in this stadium. An excellent stadium. As far as i know, it is the largest cricket stadium in the world. On the other hand, maybe it is the 2nd largest stadium overall. Another name of his stadium is "Sardar patel stadium".

Yes. The Sardar Patel Stadium at Ahmedabad is the largest cricket stadium in the world, with a capacity of 110,000. Melbourne Cricket Ground is second with a capacity of 100,000 and then we have Eden Gardens with 80,000. All the top-12 largest cricket stadiums are either in India or in Australia. It is surprising that the birthplace of cricket (England) doesn't figure in the list.

The irony here is that in England people crazy about soccer than cricket. In Australia, people are more interested in
Rugby. In India, Pakistan, Srilanka and Bangladesh people are crazy about cricket.

I guess the governments in the subcontinent should change their National game as the subcontinent constitute most of the cricket viewership.

As expected, New Zealand is off to a good start against West Indies, in the second test. Henry Nicholls managed to score a century, and he is out there with Daryl Mitchell, with New Zealand looking pretty comfortable at 285/5. Remember that New Zealand has rested Kane Williamson, who is expecting the birth of his first child. Apart from Shannon Gabriel, the other West Indian bowlers looked out of form.

I mean, players have to be properly groomed and then included in the national team. Players should be placed in India-A to get acquainted with the environment and pitch of all countries. There is no shortage of talented players in India. So India should make a player more experienced by giving them a chance to play in the India-A team before taking them to the national team.

Historically if the BCCI identifies a talent they groom them and then the rest depends upon the individual to perform. Sachin was selected in the team at 16 and many raised their eyebrows as they were touring Pakistan facing deadly bowlers that could hamper his confidence but we all know the level of caliber he could attain and so does Kambli and everyone expected him to perform equally but he spoiled his career.

As you mentioned there is no shortage of talented players and you need to perform whenever you get the opportunity at any level of cricket and if you prove your worth then the BCCI might consider in giving you special treatment and the biggest example is Rohit Sharma who never performed to his potential close to a decade and now we know his place in the team in the shorter format.

Aus A: 108 all out

Just amazing, what a special day of cricket 20 wickets and 302 runs. Jasprit Bumrah did something very special in his carear, anyway Indian's pace attach did excellent performance which give them advantage bowled out Aus A team for 108 runs So, It right to say Indian bowlers own the test match though it's practice match.

Indeed this is some sort of dilemma when somebody comes to know that the Asian countries who plays cricket more than the mentioned National games at international levels. Not sure why respective government differ on their view of making such changes or else they should promote more of the national games by providing the good money to board and which in turn can help to get the better players, best facilities which is at par at international levels. Else today nobody even talks about such national sports for those countries which you mentioned.

I have seen the game on the Melbourne grounf before. The games were very exciting. Maybe no team could score more runs, but the matches were very enjoyable. I am just waiting to watch the matches in Sarda Patel stadime. I would like to see the performance of teams like India and England in this ground.

As we know Will Pucovski is in doubt for a call up in the Australian team for the first test match and so could Cameron Green after getting hit in the head from a straight drive shot while bowling so two of Australia's young talent could be out with concussions. Joe Burns is also in poor form so if Warner can't be healthy before the first test the Australia selectors have some thinking to do. The Indian bowlers are in top form and look ready to go against Australia in the first test match in 5 days.

A great match. 4 Australian players have been dismissed for zero runs. And 2 Indian players were out for zero runs. Basically, no team player could play well. Overall, today was the day for the bowlers.

I hope they will play Test matches in the same wicket they played the warm up match because it is really boring to see a player score runs without any challenge and it will be interesting if a batsman could score runs in conditions like this.

Anyone following the second test match between New Zealand and West Indies at Basin Reserve? It is turning out to be another one-sided match, with West Indies struggling at 42/4. Earlier New Zealand had set up a total of 460, with Henry Nicholls making 174 and tail ender Neil Wagner scoring 66 not out. And remember that New Zealand is missing Kane Williamson.

1st game is schedule at Adelaide so not the same wicket. Adelaide is known as hunting ground for Aussie but Indians do have some sort of success there, however Australian team is unbeaten in D/N test and Indians playing their 2nd D/N test so OZ have bit of edge.

Pink Ball is used for D/N match. Only one D/N game in this series so in next 3 games they will use Red ball.

Its Pink ball test match...

It is easy to track the pink ball while watching the match, whereas with the red ball it is very hard to track it on TV. I never expected the Indian middle order to collapse in so fast. Thanks to Bumrah I dia was able to score beyond the 150 mark. Being a baller I was also astonished to see him bat so confidently.  This pitch was more of a ballers paradise both teams were struggling to bat.

Today there was an important milestone in the history of West Indian cricket. Joshua Da Silva became the first native-born white to play test cricket for West Indies, ever since Geoff Greenidge in 1973 (Brendan Nash played test cricket for West Indies from 2008-11, but he was born in Australia). West Indies trail by 361 runs, 5 wickets in hand. Only set batsman at the pitch Blackwoood, batting with 60 runs after 84 delivery and Holder on his side. Are West Indies team repeat the same story or the batsman rescue them unless another big defeat which is absolutely pathetic to see WI unable to give a fight.

Very poor batting from west indies players. In the first Test against New Zealand, West Indies lost by 134 runs and an innings. It was a completely one-sided Test match. I thought the West Indies would be fixed their mistakes in the second Test. And will fight a bit even if they can't win the match. But I was wrong. West Indies will also lose this Test match by an innings. West Indies scored 124 runs for the loss of 8 wickets.

In the first innings of the pink ball or Day/night Test match, India and Australia had a batting disaster, but in the second innings, the Indian batsmen are playing great. Mayank Agarwal and Shubman Gill played very well. India lost 3 wickets and scored 164 runs. This will be a big challenge for the Australia A team. Because they were 86 runs behind in the first innings. Australia A lost all their wickets for 108 runs. I don't know if they faced such a bad batting disaster like this.

Some how in 2nd inning Australia A bowling looking bit weak. Cameron Green exclusion due to concussion might be one of the reason. Shubman Gill in particular was smashing everyone but facing likes of Starc, Cummins, Hazelwood would be completely different. Overall i would say India did good by playing 2 warm up games, this is good practice for almost everyone and in the future they should stick with the same template when visiting any SENA country, may be make it 3 warm up games ( 2 - three days test and 1 - four day test).

Let's see if Gill opens the inning with Mayank in the 1st test as Shaw seems to be in pretty bad form.
