I did not pass the validation because I did not notice that my VPS was expiring so I manually sync my wallet but I did not reach the right time, this is the first time that I'm syncing my wallet without using a VPS but it's been 15 hours straight but I'm having a hard time syncing it, I'm always stuck to certain blocks for hours, is there a fix to this.
Hi buddy, usually these problems don't occur. You either need to wait for a while longer, because some people take a day to sync. Also, see if you have free space on your hard disk, at the moment the node weighs 9-10 gigabytes. Alternatively, save your nodekey and reinstall everything again. Let us know what happened!

Thanks for the response and helping me out on this issue unfortunately it's been two days of syncing although I switch off my desktop from time to time but I always stuck in certain blocks I notice it took me 2 to 4 hours to get out of those blocks, I have a good and stable connection and have 5 to 10 nodes, this happens when you get out from VPS to syncing manually using your build in nodes.

If I cannot sync today I am thinking of reinstalling everything although this is not the option that I want.

I think that you do not need to reinstall everything again , but simply delete the folder with the blockchain and sync it again, or download the folder with blocks from the site https://idena.site/index.php ,the site has a video tutorial for this  Wink

In the last validation, I didn't get flips in short and long sessions. I am using a node on a VPS with a tunnel connection to my computer during validation. Could this be due to the poor network bandwidth of the VPS server, or is it my ISP's fault?

More likely is your IPS's bad (low internet speed) or is not as stable as it shood, I don't say it can be both, but VPS providers usually have good and stable internet, because their business relies on this. Now I hope you don't use some shady VPS providers (i.e. those who gives you a VPS for $1/month).

I believe that your VPS has been out of sync. I don't think it's the ISP's fault, because in most cases their service level agreements guarantee 99,9% uptime. I'm more inclined to the fact that there was a time out of sync in the operating system which caused your node to stop receiving blocks.

Probably.

To be honest I didn't look very deep into it. I thought this is one of those self-key kinda digital ID on a blockchain stuff which I hate.

The point of idena is identifying you as a human. Nothing more.  It's the beauty of it.

Try downloading the Idena blockchain for faster syncing. Maybe this will solve your problem.
Instruction:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUV0tzk9VCY&ab_channel=RiodaTech.

Watched the video read the instruction and downloaded the file and replaced the database now syncing it now, I have 9 to 10 peers which I believe is good, my internet is also good now I am syncing it and it's been two hours now,the wallet is having a hard time going past some blocks I have 420 blocks left and stuck there for 20 minutes already if I cannot manually sync I have no choice but to go back using a VPS.

I hate them too. Idena is not about that.

To be honest I didn't look very deep into it.

Do it now. Its worth to take 5 min and read what it is about and leave it or stay. Idena has very unique approach. Different from POS and POW. Every node is equal to 1 real world person - without exposing any sensitive data. This is something new and on very early stage - around $4 million MC.

DYOR and come back with your thoughts. I'm very interested what you (an OG) think about it.

At the moment, I see a trend towards higher requirements for VPS. If 1 core / 2 GB is enough for mining, you should have at least 2 cores \ 2 GB for validation. I'm using 4 GB ram for validation, and the last three were successful.

Hmm interesting that could be the reason why I failed to get validated that was the last time I failed to get validated after so many months of successful validation it was unexpected to me honestly because I can easily pass this but the lag contributed to why I failed it, I would like to get the consensus of the users here if If 1 core / 2 GB is not enough to get you validated and you would have to upgrade.

Dunno where you have/had your VPS but my provider allows me to resize droplet anytime i want. So i simply do it 30 min before validation to 2vCPU/4GB to be 100% sure that my hardware won't be a bottleneck. After validation i resize back to 1vCPU/2 GB. Cost of such thing is negligible (free resize, only 1.5 cent for 1 h on better hardware).

edit:
Better do it 1-2 h before validation first time and check how long it takes for your provider.

I checked on Coinmarketcap that the total supply of IDNA is 59,415,712 IDNA and Circulating Supply is 32,214,655 IDNA, how many IDNA have been mined at this time? how long will all IDNA be mined? is there a block reduction system like bitcoin from 50 to 25 to 12.5?
I was surprised to transfer IDNA from the wallet to Hotbit so quickly entered the deposit

The total Idena coins minted is the total supply, some coins from the premine are locked (vested) for 3 years, some for 5 years. If you want to read a more in depth about the tokenomics, please go here: https://medium.com/idena/idena-community-report-current-state-and-next-steps-dce97a0e3034

As for the halving, there is no such thing on Idena. Every day a fixed amount of coins are minted with no halving.

I bet he is making a new (better) VPS few hours before the validation, and then after the validation he moves back his Idena nodes to the lower VPS and deletes the VPS used for validation.

You just lost your bet.

Quote
There are two resizing options for Droplets:

CPU and RAM only. This option lets you increase or decrease the amount of CPU and RAM available to a Droplet.

Disk, CPU, and RAM. This option increases the amount of CPU and RAM available to a Droplet and permanently increases the size of a Droplet's disk.
https://www.digitalocean.com/docs/droplets/how-to/resize/

But this will work too if your provider does not support automated droplet resize in both ways. But little different if we are talking about provider that allow you to increase only. You increase you VPS before validation and just after you need to destroy it and create new weaker one.

I would not risk my stake on 1 vCPU / 2 GB RAM.
