Take away the financial implication, I doubt Nigerians do care even if they are given 10 games ban playing matches in closed doors.
The average Nigerian cares. Those who do not care if Nigeria plays her matches in closed doors or not are those who run our sports. All they care about is their salaries and allowances, and not what results they bring to Nigerians. The intervention we need now is for the president to step into sports matter and ensure that eyes are on the administrators and not to leave everything to the NFF because those ones are the same. The NFF will not do any positive thing as to retire or sack those who sabotaged our chances at the world cup because they all are birds of the same feather. Well, the issue of money is not something that is only related to Nigerian football, I think that in every corner of the world there is this problem, we in South America call this the "thread", if it is not involved in the core of this, no You can include the benefits of the teams, normally it is the government who somehow put their hand in damaging things in sport, I imagine that football in Nigeria is growing every day, as it should be, but the lack of budget or the lack of support is evident, I think that also influences the qualification for the Cup, because the league is really very powerful.

I actually don't believe that it is the fault of the government. I believe it happens because some people in power are just too stubborn to refuse to do something like that. And there will always be people like this who only care about money and nothing else. Because of these people, the progression of not only sports but also a lot of other activities is hampered. And the players will always care about football because it is their profession and a person with even a small amount of brain always respects his profession. Regards duke

I don't see why nigeria fan should behave that way, game is about a winner and who lose and not a do or die affair. It is the same hooliganism and poor attitude we see in the Nigeria local league, the NPFL where fans and home teams beat up visiting teams and match officials. There is a popular sports presenter in the country who calls the league The Nigeria Katakata League because of the weekly misbehaviors that is now constant. It is a shame that fans behave like football is no longer a fun thing but a do or die affair. Although Nigeria is not the only country punished by FIFA for misbehaviour during the Qatar 2022 world cup qualifiers. There are many others. It's really annoying to see the unhidden display of football hooliganism and recklessness in the Nigeria Professional Football League. We have heard and see video clips and pictures of how fans attacked and destroyed the visiting teams bus when they get points from them. Most of the time, it is obvious the FA punishment is not sufficient enough because over the years this ugly attitude from fans is still prevalent.

Nigeria FA punishment is never harsh enough to make this teams stop. Most teams do not want there matches on television because they will be exposing them. If you run a poll on that with the local teams involved to find out which of the teams will want their matches shown live I can tell you that less than 30% will say yes. Also you know that most of the state FA chairmen have stakes in most of the teams. So how will they punish offenders? Nigeria local league is a big joke. It is the referees who get beaten up almost every week or the other I pity.

I really miss nigeria and Egypt not performing in the world cup. i am from africa but i have to say that even if they were at the worlds they would not get far, it would be something like going to make a presence and come back empty handed, looking at the qualifications for the world cups from all areas of the continents it is clear that the African continent has the weakest teams and that is the fault of the corrupt leaders of africa. look at it as a great recent example: Didier Drogba was defeated in the elections to be director of ivory coast football, in his place of course was some corrupt or some guy from ivory coast politics, result? Ivory Coast soccer will continue like this honestly I don't expect anything big from the African teams in this world. I'll cheer for Brazil or Argentina or even some other team in Europe

You're from Africa and you don't support them? That's a fatal mistake from you man. Africans are just not having the right motivation and good government at the time though. I hope Senegal brings up hope in the world Cup

Most African country's National clubs as underperforming because of the high corruption that has bedridden the football industry, check countries like Nigeria super eagle who have failed to qualify for the world cup because the players lack the necessary motivation to put in all the best legs forward and this is as a result of players not adequately taken care off by the sports ministry even some players pay for their bills when the sustained injury during matches, all this have contributed negatively to the overall performance of the team. As that member rightly said it is hard for African teams to win the world cup rather there can just register their presence in the world cup.

I think they should be steps taken which will significantly improve the performance and also the mentality of the African countries to play football well as national teams. I don't know if that will be possible because corruption is a lot in those countries. And in some countries, it is quite hard to even survive. it's like they say, survival of the fittest. and in that situation corruption is inevitable.

Nigeria lose again to an international friendly game against Mexico under a new a coach jose Peseiro , this is their first game under this new coach. I wouldn't want to use their first game to rate the new coach if he is capable of building the team strong again, other game coming will if the new coach is work or not.

Firstly you have to understand that good facility for training, has a lot to contribute to players fitness. We don't have that in most African countries. Egypt with one of the best facilities and highest paid African League contributed to the success they have in the African tournaments. The European hs the privilege of paying with same team mates tgey play with as such their chemistry is still intact when playing international football bit you can't say same about African so obviously they'll be struggling whwn it come sro international football. Also, irrespective of how good you're, when you're paired with a weaker team, your performance tend to reduces. The Westerners already have good players all round and playing in top Westerner leagues but when it come to African, the top players are been paired with local players which obviously kills the chemistry in the team. Until Africa has local league upto to the standard of the werstener league, we wouldn't be getting much from them in international football.

if in an ordinary friendlies like this they can't make something really worth it then what will be the hope for the subsequent future matches that will be contending enough, i think they needed a coach who have good experience on the team performances and whose record is worth recommendation, Nigeria should sit to build a new entire football management team in other to have better results ahead, it need to be filtered and tried to see that it meet up to the standard required for a great performance, what is been paid for should at least worth having a good result as well.

His team choice isn't obviously our starting 11 and I'm pretty sure that was due to the players not been available either resting or taking some vacation from the juat concluded seasons. We didn't have our usual midfielders playing and a key players as Ndidi wasn't present and other vital players. Now lets look at the formation 4,2,2,2. That isn't our best formation and probably the coach is just using this friendly to test his tactics and others players to identify the best new players to input into the team to strengthen it. The match ended 2:1 and the second Mexico goals was an own goal. Lets give the coach time and not been quick to judge.

I agree because he’s a new appointment and in these friendlies he can test out various combinations and see what’s working, plus with their key player’s absent he was testing player’s to see if anyone could be promoted to the playing 11. Lastly he has time to turnaround things, and I’ll only judge him if his losing streak continues for a while but until then I’ll give him benefit of the doubt that he’s new and he’s trying to make things work.

Super Eagles problem was never from Rohr, if they has given Rohr to stay for sometime it would have been better and I don't think think super would have lost in the AFCON and it would have been sure that the Super Eagles will participate in 2022 world cup quarter.

His team choice isn't obviously our starting 11 and I'm pretty sure that was due to the players not been available i understand your point here but let still consider it that either first eleven or not super eagles remains super eagles and they fully represent Nigeria, we can not only build confidence on the first eleven, what about others? should we expect under performance from them, when the news will be carried, it will state that Mexico defeated Nigeria and that's all, though a friendly match, not using first eleven will all be a behind the scene other aspect of the story, the thing Nigeria needs now is a new football era, a total change of story, even the said first eleven we are talking about couldn't make their journey to quatar which means our confidence in their full delivery is low and change is the only antidote to it and not only on the coach but the entire system of NFF.

What's the update for the upcoming qualifies ? I think Nigeria played a friendly game some days back with Mexico and lost. Trust Ekong was responsible for the last goal, a very big error scoring own goal. Nigeria lost as a result of that late goal, it sealed it all for them.

It may be truth that Rohr was not the problem of the Super Eagles of Nigeria but what is evident is all the years he spent with this Nigerian national team, he didn't improve their style of play. No identity whatsoever. In fact, they were playing haphazard football and just managing to grind in results.
