the disturbing thing is these companies need cash injection even though they have been selling hardware for a profit funded by the end user.

Nothing disturbing, they need cash because they are planning major investments.

Sponds will of course have a few 'projects' going on in the background. The SP35 will be replaced by another 'SP' ... but what that 'SP' is ...
... 2015 will finally change home mining for good (if that hasn't happened already) and online hosted solutions will .. well .. be a punt at best, we need a 'think different' out of the box solution.
Granted, Sponds have mainly been focused on data center miners, the SP20 is for the home market.
Interesting times ahead.

hey, Guy, congrats on the $5 mil funding round. Pretty impressive.
Such good news! Congrats! I am glad to be part of the elite 20% You mean the 20% that Spondoolies is not giving massively discounted bulk rates to? Being part of the group getting ripped off is normally not something to be proud about. dreaaaaaery me, are you still contending with your own angst and blaming everyone else for your own failures? it's sad to see you have clearly spent all this time that i've been away, with the same narrow minded input into these forums. now. time for me to acquire more miners.

What's the difference between SP31 and SP35?
Don't worry about that shit, let me tell you about the SP50. The SP50 is going to have a receiving module and power supply with removable blades. One unit of the system is going to do 12THs. After the lifetime of the blades is expired, you just pull those out, throw away, and shove in the blades of the next generation (14nm). You heard it hear first! Actually, Guy told a bunch of us in Vegas about this. Watch for the announcement soon.

This looks like a great way to run them. I look forward to reviewing the SP20. It was great to see it running at the Inside Bitcoins show in Las Vegas. SP20 with SP10 PSU (Emerson DS1050) and an adapter board we developed. The picture was taken at Inside Bitcoin TLV this week.

The only thing missed from SP is pricing. They need to price it alot more competitively. As mining gear life span is too short, all the Chinese miners are cheaper (at the cost of lower quality). SP if you can kill the Chinese manufacture, i actually will buy more hardware to support you.
Otherwise, i'm afraid bitcoin mining will be concentrated in China.

I believe that this will not happen. Time will tell. I was just told by a Chines friend that the bitcoin mining community in China is alot bigger than i thought. In April when we got Dragon miners at $3-3.5k each, the same miner was being sold for $2k + 15% off for bulk orders. They're sold alot more domestically, including Bitmain. While they dont have mega datacenter, their combined hashrate is probably the largest. ONLY miner manufacturers that are not Chinese: SP and KNC, that means something doesn it?

Nice SP20 case. Pity there's no PSU inside. All those cables might look nice in the pictures, but they're ugly when shelved.

What about BitFury? KnC? CoinTerra? Nice SP20 case. Pity there's no PSU inside. All those cables might look nice in the pictures, but they're ugly when shelved.
I see it as being much cleaner than other miners which I will not name.
