Does anyone have any stats on how loud a SP31 is at high, medium, and low settings?
I'm considering getting a SP35, but SP10s were a bit too loud for my taste, so I'm hoping a SP31 / SP35 will be easier on the ears due to the larger fans.
I don't even mind running it at a lower speed if the sound is more bearable.
SP30/31/35s are not as loud as the SP10, but they're not quiet by any means. If you're using 120V, the power supply fans will have to run at higher RPMs which makes them louder. On 220V, they may be more bearable. Due to the small size and high speed of the SP10 fans, the noise the SP10 makes is relatively high-pitched and annoying; the SP30s' noise is lower in frequency and more bearable in tone. You can run these on 110/120v? I remember reading that they required 220/240v... Can somebody please confirm? Thank you SP31 can run on 110/120V but SP35 is a 208V or above only Nifty! I did not know! Thank you!

Do the things you know you must do first, then worry about the stuff you're not sure about.

My SP31s are working great. What exactly do you need to know? i may order a 235 to squeeze a few more th/s out of my power capabilities and to have the ability to branch off with a second company. I have been scared of dealing with this company. I don't know why this may be wrong but I thought I had read somewhere that the miners were having overheating issues and the company owner was a spin-doctor talker type scammer. Like I said I there is a strong chance I may be incorrect but I would like more advice before I ship spondoolies 5 grand in bitcoin

You can run these on 110/120v? I remember reading that they required 220/240v...
Performance suffers on 120V for the SP30 and SP31. You'll get about 10-15% lower hashrate on 120V than on 220V+. Computer power supplies are less efficient on lower input voltages, which means they generate more heat, and therefore reach their thermal limits at lower output levels. I think the power supply used in the SP35 is probably this: https://www.artesyn.com/power/assets/ds1600spe-05-30-131391227406.pdfIf so, that PSU is rated for 1600W output when supplied with 180V to 264V, but only 800W when supplied with 90V to 140V. In contrast, the SP31's PSUs are rated for about 1000W with 120V input and 1200W with >= 200V input. If you're using 120V, you're probably better off using SP20s than SP3x models.

No overheating issues. There were some issues with the actual miners not meeting the pre-launch performance goals and forecasts. Spondoolies compensated their customers for the performance shortfall with refunds equal to the hashrate deficits. The current published specifications are based on observed performance rather than forecasts, and are more accurate. Their hardware isn't perfect; it is only the best anyone has made.

I think the overheating issues rumour is based on the farm fire in Thailand. Very convenient for competitors and their shills to use. I even saw one thread where the guy went off on one saying it was SP's datacenter where all the customer rigs are located.

Yeah pretty much a given. These sp20s are made for a 15 amp 120 volt circuit

My new SP31 miner arrived today, very pleased with the performance, thanks Spondoolies! fired it up on default settings and it seems just as, if not more stable than my old SP10's.
