My new SP31 miner arrived today, very pleased with the performance, thanks Spondoolies!
fired it up on default settings and it seems just as, if not more stable than my old SP10's.  Grin

Just curious why you would have bought an SP31 when the SP35 is the same price, higher hash and shipping any time now?

Had been much more simple to purchase sp31-35 instead of SP20

i was worried myself today when the snow started falling - and, i'm an obsessive checker of shipment tracking, when i noticed it was after 9am and I didn't see 'out for delivery' in the tracking, i got right on the phone to find out if I could go pick it up!

as soon as I got thru to someone in the depot, the tracking screen was f5'd and it was out on a van.

damn i need to get a life!

Similar to us. Original expected delivery date Monday, updated to Friday, phone call this morning saying were here with them (tracking shows not out for delivery), he came back a little while later and said that he saw them in the warehouse and thought to get rid of them a day early / one less delivery for tomorrow.

DHL have been slacking of late, I recently had an SP20 due for delivery to another address and I didn't even get any note that it had been shipped. Katya was very kind to fwd the waybill number by email, otherwise the customs may never have been paid. Not sure if it's just time of year, but i've always had a good relationship with DHL in the past.

DHL is ok here, FedEx / UPS is much better.

Well except for that time when FedEx decided to drive a forklift into a pallet of SP30's

Been following this thread for a while now but haven't posted to it as before today didn't own any Spondoolies miners. Ordered a Sp20 on the 8th received it today (SE US), impressive.

Have to say I do see why there are so many here that are "Spondoolies groupies" for lack of a better term Smiley. This is a nice miner, I mean really nice. This thing is very well constructed and outside it having a little problem pulling an IP from my DHCP server was very easy to get it up and hashing. The GUI interface is well designed and actually feels it was professionally designed not coded in somebody's basement in between Red Bulls. I look forward to getting a couple more.

I do have a question for those that have been running the miner do my settings look good for my Psu which is a EVGA 1300 G2.

Fan Speed 90
Start volts 0.69 x4
Max voltage .074
Max Psu 250 x4

Temp Front / Back T,B  28 °C / 78,73 °C

Hashing at 1552 to 1560

Thanks.

the  78,73 c is a bit high   go to your asic page take a look.

I am 85 mostly with a 100 and a 105.  due to under clock.  if yours are 120 and in yellow you are a bit too high

You can probably increase the power on those PSUs quite a bit. 1275 is pretty conservative. 1330W is about 90% likely to work without problems. If those are Emersons, I'd set it to 1350W and let it learn its limits. There's a good chance that 1350W will be below the limits, actually. Doing this will give you as much as 150W more power and possibly 200GH/s more hashrate.

Also, at those temperatures, I find that the optimal fan speed is 70. The temperature at which 70 and 80 are equivalent is about 16°C for SP30s and SP31s. Higher fan speeds use power that could be supplied to the ASICs, so too high a fan setting actually reduces performance slightly. The SP35, SP10, and SP20 are more temperature sensitive than the SP30 and SP31, so they should usually be run with higher fan speeds when performance maximization is the goal. If you don't increase the power to 1330W or 1350W, then the optimal fan speed is even lower. At 1275W and 11C, you might be best off at 60.

How much do you pay for electricity? You can probably increase the PSU limits by maybe 25W each and get some additional hashrate at the expense of efficiency, but depending on your electricity cost, you may prefer efficiency instead.

yeah if you are under 11 cents you good go for more hash rate but check your asic page to see the temps.

You have free electric, right?

If you were to partake in any other hobby, would you expect that hobby to pay you to do it?
I always find it a tad idiosyncratic that people tend to think if BTC price is not above a certain level at any point in the day, mining is not worth it.

just because you get free electric, you continue to mine, right?

I have 3 x SP10's on free electric and could put the rest of my miners into the same unit, but I don't, I run them in a garage @11.4p/kWh because it's my hobby and I expect there to be some outlay for the extra-curricular activities in which I partake.

for making a living, i seem to be one of the few who actually go out to work  Cool

Trust me. I work well over 50 hours a week and have been since I was in my early 20's. I'm not some teenager filling his moms garage and basement with bitcoin rigs. Free electric in as I don't have to pay for it, but I still have to work for it. So I guess it isn't really free.

I think the overheating issues rumour is based on the farm fire in Thailand. Very convenient for competitors and their shills to use. I even saw one thread where the guy went off on one saying it was SP's datacenter where all the customer rigs are located.  Roll Eyes

I'd love to comment on this, but my head would be chopped off if I did. Stuck in a NDA about that fire but some would be pretty surprised if they knew.

Can someone do a sound meter check on their SP20 in their home? Not in a garage or warehouse? I'm trying to figure out the acoustic situation they will bring down on me and figuring ways to avoid that if I bite. Here's one of my AntMiner C1's hashing 1005TH/s. I actually have two in the same room and don't notice they are there, but of course rather have Spondoolie's if the prices are right.

Thanks.

I was about a foot away or less when doing this measurement.
