Leicester City 1-1 Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham mostly outplayed and pressed Leicester City yet somehow they conceded an equaliser. Vardy was not 100% match fit and did not play in their pre-season either. He asked their new manager Cooper to be allowed on as Leicester City had injuries and he managed to score. Tottenham will be disappointed they did not take all three points.

All 20 clubs in the Premier League have no played a game each. The season has started well

Chelsea were controlling large large parts of the game especially when they were a goal down and did not give up even after conceding their late second goal. Manchester City will face tougher opponents during the season but they are still the team to beat.

Just wanted to say, I loved the way Chelsea played some part to the game and I'm optimistic about this season if we get a striker. Having a very dependable striker, could had given us a point or probably win the whole game because anybody that watched the match will not say we played badly. Manchester city weren't playing anything and just got the goals because Chelsea didn't give them any direct threat. Immediately Jackson was taken off. We didn't have any better attempts at goal. We need a striker ASAP or this will be how our big matches will always end.

We're already controlling games more than we ever did under Poch. We lost against the top side in the league; and we're looking forward to the next game. If you had watched the game objectively, you would have seen that we were just unlucky not to win, not because we were bad.

True but how many times did Pep Guardiola beat Pochettino, I can't remember because I remember we went toe to toe with them when we're playing. The last game that both managers played ended 4-4 and I think it was voted the fans favourite game of the season (last season) because of how entertaining the match was but I didn't feel any excitement for this game.

I am quite curious about the match between Man United and Brighton and Hove Albion, where in the previous match Man United managed to get a positive result, but there are many notes that need to be fixed by Ten Hag and the game shown by the Red Devils in my opinion is disappointing, now they are playing at Brighton and Hove Albion's headquarters, in my opinion it is not profitable, I hope there is an improvement shown, otherwise they will most likely experience defeat.

There are signs for optimism when it comes to Chelsea because even after one game it seems the players want to play for the manager and believe in his philosophy. Having said that, I do not think it will last because I in my opinion the Chelsea job is far too big for Maresca and he will not last long as their manager. Who had even heard of him even while he was manager for that single season at Leicester City? It was only when Chelsea announced they were in talks with him that people started asking who he was and which teams he had managed.

Keeping that aside, I cannot understand why Maresca openly stated Sterling was not in his plans then stripped him of his number seven squad number and is making him train away from the first team.  Sterling was signed from Manchester City in 2022 for £50m therefore just two years later he is told he is not wanted. He is only 29 years old therefore that is a huge statement from an unproven manager that has zero big team management experience.

Maresca made it clear to 15 players that were told to train away from the first team (including Sterling and Chilwell) that they were better off finding different clubs because he will use a trimmed down squad and does not intend to utilise them. Even if he used Sterling and Chilwell as substitutes they would make excellent impact players but Maresca sees thing differently.

As for what you mentioned about Chelsea needing a striker, the deal for Conor Gallagher to go to Atletico Madrid for £36 million was completed at the same time as Joao Felix returning to Chelsea for £46.3 million. Maybe Felix will be the striker they have been missing.

It's a tough situation for Sterling. More often than not, it is only when a player is no longer with a club that their jersey number gets given away. For sterling, I think that's very disrespectful. He wasn't the best winger last season but his goal + assist contributions were vital for Chelsea to pick up points last season — for instance, he stepped up big time during that 4-4 Chelsea vs City game.

Can't say I play Enzo because as a manager, you have the responsibility to select which player makes your team or fits your program and it's not always an easy one. But it would be gone if he learns from ETH how not to fallout with your players.

I think the way it was handled could have been better but he knows his job is on the line for leaving Chilwell and Stirling out of the squad if they lose several games from now until the Christmas period.

I'm loving the decisions Maresca has taken of late, I thought he'll be shy and not come out to voice out his mind but he has done the opposite and has been so direct since he took over management. Telling sterling he isn't part of his team would sound harsh but that was the right decision. That dude was earning so much and producing mediocre performance. I can count the number of games he stood up for the team and left us hanging in the rest. Cole Palmer took the role from him and it's good he's going to leave the club. Let bring in fresh blood and young talents, ready to show working.

Aston villa Vs Arsenal over Manchester United Vs Brighton? I don't think so. If both matches were being played at the same time, I'll rather watch the Man U Vs Brighton game than the other because we're in the start of the season and that's when Arsenal are on their best for form so I don't expect an odd result. Arsenal should be winning that feature easily but Manchester united will need to dig dip to go home with all three points. Brighton isn't going to make it an easy feature for them but what do you think between the two matches?.

To stay in England, he would need to accept a significant pay cut as no team will pay him more than £150k/week due to his age. It only took Enzo two games to conclude he was no longer a part of the team. I've never seen a player as selfish as Sterling; he doesn't care about his teammates, only himself.

If that's the case, it's no problem. The point I was trying to make was that majority of Man Utd games are boring unless they play a big team like Liverpool or City. But I'll definitely see that Man Utd vs Brighton game. I watched the Man Utd vs Fulham game just a week ago and exactly what I said — boring. Fulham played some very fine football albeit some Man Utd missed chances from Bruno.

I'll see all matches because Villa park is not a place that City or Arsenal find it easy. Last season, both teams lost there. I'll be there to watch it again this season.

When you look at the situation from the manager perspective, in the end if Chelsea lose too many games or play a bad style then Maresca will be sacked therefore he is trying to plan ahead. He has taken immediate tough decisions and that shows his mindset and thinking. He is taking action because he wants to show the club, fans and the players he really is there for the long run. The club cannot have a squad of 43 players when around 20-23 are needed for a perfect sized squad therefore he ended the Chelsea career of 15 players. I hope Chelsea give him time even if he has a bad season.

I am not as confident as you about Arsenal, for that reason I will go for Aston Villa to win but I expect Brighton to beat Manchester United

His form over the past couple of years was bad enough for him to be dropped from the England national team and he never regained his place again. At 29 years old now he recently stated he wants to get back representing England but I think that door is now closed for him. Guardiola probably sold him because when a player thinks he is better than he really is and thinks he deserves an automatic first 11 start regardless of form, then there is no place for him at the club.

When Chelsea paid all that money (£47.8 million) to buy Sterling, it was an offer that Manchester City had to accept because they paid a total of £49 million including add-ons to buy him from Liverpool and he did well for them for Manchester City for 7 years, then they sold him for almost as much as they paid 7 years ago. When he arrived at Chelsea I thought he would help transform the team in title challengers but apart from a few memorable moments Sterling was a constant let down.

I was worried about a loss for Manchester United and it happened... Does someone know why Erik ten Hag is insisting on putting Bruno Fernandes in the centre-forward position? 

I mean I would understand if there wasn't any striker available among the substitutes. But there was Zirkzee. He scored a goal on the first week as well. Then what is this stubbornness for?

When it comes to the matches being played, Tottenham have finished Everton already in the first half. I can say the same for Manchester City against Ipswich too. Ipswich are so unlucky to have the most challenging fixtures at the beginning...

Well done to Brighton but Manchester United need to sack Ten Hag in order to save their season. Ipswich Town scored first but Manchester City ended up scoring four.

Tottenham scored a big win against Everton and already Everton seem to be are already relegation favourites.

This might seem unlikely to happen but I am confident Bournemouth will beat Newcastle United and also Wolves will beat Chelsea. In the other game Liverpool will draw against Brentford.

If Chelsea have any chance of finishing in the top four they need to make a meaningful statement soon. I do not expect that to happen today but if they lose today they will feel pressure and in particular Maresca will have all the media attention on him for all the wrong reasons.
