Guys, I want to draw your attention to the fact that the CL pool will start soon and the prizes this year are as huge as last year.

OP has now been updated with new guidance while we continue to work (I say we, but it's really just joker_josue haha) on refining the form submission for the odds-based event.

Summary of this season's new points:
- 70/30 prize split. 70% to Superbru classic pool, as that's the most popular, 30% to the odds-based event, which is experimental. Use this week to read the rules and test out the new system!
- 20 prize spots, not 10 -- but you can win in both events.
- stablecoin, but BTC payout, end of season. This preserves the dollar value, per request of sponsor.

We now have 33 confirmed participants (13 paid, marked below with asterisk. Paid but no asterisk? PM me!), and 2 tentative (marked in brackets). Can we see if we get the numbers to cross 50? Invite your degen friends!

I'm very happy that the national break has finished. I hope gw5 would be good for me after the disappointment on gw4. Was there any important player who got injured at national teams? I have added Maddison to my squad this week (for 7.7 millions). I could have waited for Tottenham to play the Liverpool and Arsenal matches if his price wasn't going to increase. However 0.1 million could be really valuable for me in the future.

It sounds like a smart decision to sign Maddison to your team for £7.7 million, and certainly, pricing fluctuations can have an impact over the long term. I wish you luck with your FPL team in Gameweek 5 and I hope it goes well for you!

Yes, I have read the post about the contest, and it appears that this season, a lot of money has been put into the prize fund. To make it even more thrilling, I hope we attract more people.

I recall that I didn't perform well last season, so this year, I'm motivated to do better and have a chance at the prize! 🍰 because who doesn't love cake?

six players this week on one game, so it will hardly end-up as good, but what a heck, can't make several changes because of one game week

Glad to see that the EPL is back along with FPL. I made 1 transfers this week to replace Trippier with Cash from Aston Villa. I love Trippier but he hasn't gotten any clean sheets since the start of the season. As for Rashford, I'm still keeping him in my team. His overall inputs to my team has been incredibly low but I'm hopeful he would pick form soon. As for Bruno, I don't have him on my team, Son either.

I was contemplating on adding Udogie or Romero but decided against it but I have both of them in my watch list and I'll get them in the coming weeks. Son? Still not convincing for me despite his recent hattrick. On watch list too.

If Son continues to play as centre-forward instead of Richarlison it would absolutely be an impressive choice. I'm reading that some managers will make him captain instead of Haaland this week. The only negative topic for Son and the other Tottenham players is that Tottenham are going to play against Arsenal and Liverpool after the Sheffield United match.

Would prefer Botman if he shakes of the injury due to his low price. How many clean sheets did you expect from Newcastle run that looked like: Aston Villa, Man City, Liverpool and Brighton? That are 4 teams that create a lot of opportunities, among the best in the league. I expected none and had both to score on all those games and no Newcastle players in my team. Now they are getting to good fixtures and we should start to consider them. You must admit that Brentford, Sheffiled, Burnley and West ham look much better than those mentioned before.

This is exactly the conviction I needed when I made that post. When I made that move to take out Trippier. I took out Burn for Eustopinan 3 weeks ago. Did it pay off? No. As a matter of fact, Brighton conceded 3 goals at home vs West ham and lost me more point. But it was a better deal since not having burn and Trippier in same team meant when they conceded goals,  I don't have to lose potential cleansheet points on both players.

I will strongly consider my options because selling Trippier would've given me the opportunity to get a cheaper defender but it's still worth it as Newcastle's next 5 fixtures are really good.

Trippier is too expensive maybe, but I want to have Newcastle defender. My perfect scenario is that few more people sell Botman, he falls to 4.4 and then manager says he is fit 

Botman at 4.4 would be incredible bargain and I would take him for sure. If that doesn't happen probably Schar for me.

Generally all defenses are bad this season and there isn't really a defender that is a must have. City of course has great defense but than you have to account for rotations.

I'm not sure whether any of our mini-league managers have him, but there's always that awkward manager that pulled players out of shaky water. Nobody knows.

Sancho will not reach his full potential as long as he is at Manchester United; the youngster needs nurturing, not a manager who is unconcerned with his players' feelings. Look at the distance between him and Halaand. He was literally the best player at Dortmund.

Looks like everyone is going for Son, I might make a U-turn. I love to play mind games.

Sancho was not really a popular name here, I barely saw him mentioned, or maybe the people who had him keep him a secret Too bad now!
 
Trent Alexander-Arnold who earned a lot of people who had him points in GW4 will miss Liverpool's game against Wolves in GW5 and may likely miss some more weeks, he has a Hamstring Injury.

If there is a forward I thought was impressive and deserved regular game time.. it was going to be João Pedro, but ever since GW2 its been a disaster for this lad and starting him from the bench hasn't rewarded him with decent points and for this reason time to retire him and disappointing Jackson

He plays up front with Sterling and Chilwell; if I were you, I would sign Watkins or G.Jesus instead; the team lacks
creativity up forward, and Poch is unlikely to return to 4-4-2 very soon.

Joao Pedro is a quite talented player. I think that he will turn into a star forward in the future. I gave him a place in my squad on the first week of the Premier League. He even managed to score a penalty on the first week. However later on I replaced him with N.Jackson right away after he lost his place in the starting eleven. If Joao Pedro was playing in the starting eleven of Chelsea instead of N.Jackson then he would have had at least 4 goals now.

I feel bad for transferring him out too but De zerbi was becoming Guardiola and I don't want to play any form of hide and seek this season.

With Fergusson out and Danny Welbeck as well, I think Joao Pedro will get a lot of minutes now, If he was having significant playing time, I likely would have kept him in my squad, but coming of the bench very late into games with Welbeck playing ahead of him isn't what I wanted to see with one of my favorite player for the season.

I was very lucky to have sold Guehi for Udogie before the international break even started. It could've easily ended differently had I sold another defender.

Speaking of which, Chilwell is acting like a sitting duck for all these game weeks. His fixtures don't get easier after this, so if he doesn't stop pulling off 1 pointers and 0 pointers then I am giving him the boot.

Come on dude, you don't judge players like this. Do you really think Jackson, with his work rate and quickness, would be on the bench in this Brighton supper team? Workrate is what Zerbi looks for in his players, and here is where Pedro falls short.

With over 700,000 transfers, Son and Maddison are the most transferred in players this week. After much thought, I've chosen to play mind games and take Maddison. I'm yet to take a hit- good master plan so far.
