Nigeria will play host to Guinea-Bissau tomorrow 24th March, 2023 at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, in the Federal Capital Territory. This is for the African Nation Cup Qualification match. Nigeria tops the table with 6 points and Guinea-Bissau in second place with 4 points.

I would say Nigeria will win but I won't because the last time they played in that stadium they lost woefully. I will chose to remain neutral here. What do you think? Which team do you think will win this first leg?

Could it be true that a stadium has anything to do with the Nigerian team's success, especially on their home soil? It is also believed that homegrown coaches are not capable of winning on the big stage. Is there a difference between countries using indigenous coaches in foreign countries and countries that use foreign coaches.

Both Salah and Mane scored one goal each in their national matches today. I believe that professional football in Africa has its own unique flavor in terms of its impact on match results. The victories of the senegal’s and Pharaohs confirm their ability to move forward and achieve more wins. I don't know if the Moroccan and Algerian teams have a different opinion based on statistics on paper, as they seem to be the best in terms of performances over the past three years.

Tunisia's two-goal lead over their opponent made me happy with my winning ticket.

The stadium doesn't have anything to do with our failure at that particular stadium whenever we play there, there's no backstory to anything that happened there that we should be concerned about.  I think we underestimate any nation that comes to play us in that stadium because we believe they're inferior and that backfires everytime. Guinea-Bissau are no match for the Super eagles so I'm surprised they get a win but that's football. The Super eagles needs to stop underestimating teams or they'll keep losing. We need to play every team like we're playing the likes of Algeria, senegal etc we need the full squad to destroy this nation so they become scared of playing Nigeria.

As for the coaches situation, I'm not a fan of foreign coaches, other nations that are doing well in world football rely on their homegrown coaches because they can understand the players correctly. Nigerian speaks more of pidgin language and I doubt any foreign coach can relate with the players in this form but that'll be an advantage for the homegrown coaches. Senegal has a homegrown coach and he's doing well for them. We have lots of homegrown coaches but they lack experience and that's because we haven't given them a chance to gain the experience. At the last AFCON our home grown coach took us to the knockout stage by winning all our matches and that's something a foreign coach hasn't been able to do but what did we do, we sacked him because he failed to qualify us instead of us giving him time to work with the team.

Africa is a continent that is capable of producing many great players in the sport of Football. Not only now that I don't need to explain one by one who they are, but in the future seeds with extraordinary talent will be the target of big clubs.

The Nigeria super Eagle team 1-0 lost to Gunea Bissau at home today is something I can't really understand, They can just be serious for once knowing this is African Nations cup Qualifiers to start with such result. they featured most of the top European based players Chukwueze, Victor Osimhen and others, yet they lost the game. This is really annoying seeing my home team Nigeria mess up most of the time in some games which they're suppose to win very easily. They Missed a lot of their chances today , even the ball that Chukwueze is supposed to put in the back of the net, he threw the ball away.

This might be the right time for the Nigerian Football management body should start looking inwards. Most African teams that are doing well in continental and global football environments have a thriving local league. The national team should be a combination of foreign and home-based players. The foreign-based players bring in exposure and experience while the home-based are usually strong, rugged, and determined. Nigerian professional leagues need to improve in quality and financing.

Jose Peseiro has brought nothing new to the team. The team lacks coordination and the players are playing individually instead of playing as a team. I am not a fan of going around the globe scouting for new players that are not even committed to playing in the Super Eagles, while we have many talented and success-hungry home-based players that can make a difference if they are given the platform.

Sincerely I do not see Nigeria qualifying for the African Cup of nations with this poor performance. I don't even know if the team is getting better or declining yearly. We have one of the best quality if you want to rate the squad but our performance is a mess, I really don't see the Super eagles qualifying except they improve along the way but with this level of performance, there’s no way that’s going to happen. I'm thinking Victor Osimhen and Nigeria is going to secure a spot in the finals of the AFCON competition very easily. Victor Osimhen is the name that will always come first in the minds of almost everyone who wants to make this prediction but looking at the level which the Super Eagles are playing it will be very difficult for Osimhen to get as many goals as he would have wanted. I’m not confident of the Super eagles making it far in the competition, they could barely even win against Guinea.

The problem with NFA is that they have brought politics into football and this is the problem that is drawing the country backward in this sports. Nigeria have quality and professional players that are on the street playing good football but instead of the football body to go round searching for the best local footballers, they will start selecting low quality players due to bribe or nepotism. I don't know when Nigeria footballers especially the super eagles will make this nation proud of them. The players don't have team work and the big players playing in international league sometimes do play with pride. Gone are the days when Nigeria players are sacrificing for their country. I just hope that Nigeria will qualify to the nations cup.

Nigeria had opportunities to score but were ultimately unable to find the back of the net, resulting in their defeat. I sort of blame the pitch for the loss. You may disagree but  I noticed the grass on the pitch as too high compared to other pitches. They need to carry out regular maintenance on the pitch. Who else noticed that the grass almost swallowed the boots of the players. If affected the players firing range. One other thing is that the Nigerian team lacked understanding and team work was lacking. I don't blame them though because they need more time to play together for better understanding to ensue.

When it comes to African football, our dear country Nigeria will always like it the hard way so I believe it has become a norm for them to lose matches then when pray for other African countries to lose so they can win the last game to qualify very funny haha.

Nigeria has lost 4 matches in a roll since the signing of the new coach and looking at the poor performance of the boys in their last outing, it's sad to say they can't make it to the next African Cup of Nations unless they work on themselves and play a team football instead of playing one man game as was vividly seen in their last game. Talking about the glory days of the super eagles, I don't think we will have it again because the system has been spoilt with politice and the good players are not given the opportunity to play in their fatherland rather some unknown players will be introduced to the team and that's it.

I quickly checked the line up and I was able to see Ndidi and Iwobi in the central midfield and I also saw Dennis and Chukwueze in the side midfield and finally I saw Iheanachor and Osimhen at the attacking top. But what I didn't understand was how managed they didn't get a goal for 90mins, not even the hot Osimhen.

Our best super eagle team was during the days of Amokachi and his team mates,when they won the gold medal in Atlanta 1996. If we can have committed and dedicated players like this set of players maybe we might achieve something great in football.

Nigeria is really not meeting up to the standard it should display, when its to the superstar they have but they can't really just find that rhythm as a team just like you stated but am still giving them the benefit of doubt that they will actually recover from this big mess by loosing to ginuea although I know football is a game of suprises but I didn't even expect the performance to be that very bad but I still believed they can make it through their group seeing the likes of the other teams there.

I suppose you don't live here in Africa, for people like me who live here in Africa and know well how this continent has such corruption that it makes you want to vomit every day, you know very well that here in Africa even for good players Going to Europe has to corrupt the authorities, and for players to be able to have a place to represent their African countries they have to pay, see an example of what happened to my country yesterday:

mozambique 1 - 5 senegal

when the players from my country arrived in senegal, they went to a hotel that did not have conditions for anyone to sleep well and stay well, the players from my country slept in beds that didn't even have a mattress, the place was dirty, the training field was not had conditions, the soccer authorities in my country didn't even comment on this subject, and why? because here in africa it is normal for a big team to bribe a small team to lose, even if the big team is a good team. Africa's problem is corruption that does not reduce or end

The sense of patriotism is low, these players know that they cannot afford to get injured while on international duties, so it does not ruin the place they have with their clubs. Low patriotisms means less hard work on the pitch. If you watch how Croatia plays, you will know that these players love their country and want to represent their country well whenever they have the chance. We can say that the state of the nation is affecting the National team.

Our players held the ball for too long sometimes, we need to move the ball around quickly and be able to hit the net whenever we have a chance to, this should be our lesson for the next game.

Also our fan base need to get creative with some new songs to cheer the players up. That our regular soundtrack that has been the same for more than a decade needs some changes to me, it is becoming annoying and terrible to listen to.

Glory days with this level of performance, or No, not now or anytime soon if there is no improvement on the field of play. They had big players in European teams but had nothing to show for it. They continue to play as if their clubs have told them not to put their all into the game in order to avoid injury. That Nigeria squad was simply too complete for me to face a team like Guinea Bissau and lose. The coach stated that they will bounce back from the loss and claim victory; I hope they do so and qualify for the AFCON.

By tomorrow, it will be the second time Nigeria will be playing against Guinea Bissau. The first time they meet each other Guinea's home town, Nigeria won by 2 goals.
It's a home-win game for the Nigeria team. Guinea Bissau is not the team that would win or draw against Nigeria(They no reach atal).

From observation Nigeria will not qualified for this year African Cup of Nations. Look at what they are playing on the field. Yes everyone plus radio stations in Nigeria were predicted Nigeria to win this game because Nigeria has won them once and this is the second time they are playing in international level. All the Super Eagles Fans were judging from the previous match but things have changed, Guinea-Bissau has waking up and defeated Nigerian Super Eagles.

Nigerian football team is drastically going down. And the cause is the whole management from top to bottom. Even the coach is still calling Musa to come back to the team again which we have qualify players at home, they are playing politics in the sport organization which is the problem we have if not there are good players that are in Nigeria that can do we. Well the match is almost to the end. They are playing the extra time to end the match. I am also happy that Nigeria will not qualified because if they do they will give someone heart attack, High Blood Pressure. So it is better they stay at home

The Nigerian team ultimately let down the entire Nigerian population after raising such high hopes that they would defeat Guinea-Bissau. The Nigerian football team's issue has always been that they lose guard in games they are expected to win. If they don't end up making the Africa Cup of Nations this year, that's fine. When they performed the previous ones, we witnessed "a failing team" that was unable to win matches and unable to qualify for the World Cup.

I wont even be surprised if the Super Eagles don't qualify. They've always had quality player but they've never been able to play good football. With the kind of players Nigeria have, they shouldn't be struggling against teams like Guinea Bissau. I think the problem is from the management of the team. And this goes on to all African teams. These teams are poorly managed with a poorly managed local league. African teams have to change their ideology of football. They have to learn to become very technical not just physical. They have to learn to play good football, play like professionals. There are some African teams that play well like Senegal, Tunisia, Algeria but overall, African teams are not impressive and Nigeria is one of those teams that always disappoints with both results and poor performance.

My time was entirely wasted throughout the match and I regretted going through the stress of watching the match live in the stadium, I could have watched the match via tv but decided to watch the match live since the match was around my neighbourhood.


Going through the ticket-buying process and wasting my 1k to watch the suppers eagle playing life super chickens, and the eagle has lost its faders.
