Recently there has been a lot of news coming from Africa about military coups (in addition to the permanent wars that go on there even without it), has this affected sporting events? Honestly, I’m surprised how people continue to compete in such conditions, especially those who became stars went to Europe but are forced to return to unsafe places from time to time.

These coups were only condemned by African organizations and had some sanctions but they did not have any sanctions in terms of soccer, so much so that Niger, which was a country that had a coup d'état, is playing against Uganda at the moment, and is losing, so am I. I didn't look at Niger as having any chance of winning this game, they are a country with a lot of corruption and their national team in this tournament was unable to obtain at least one victory, the most they achieved with a good result were 2 draws, while I was writing this one of mine post Niger lost in the game against Uganda, so Niger no longer has any chance of moving on to another stage

Tomorrow there will be a game against Burkina Faso, which is another country that suffered a coup d'état, in this game Burkina Faso will play against Eswatine who no longer have any chance of going through to another stage, so it is a game in which Burkina Faso will not they will lose, because their opponent is a weak team that will play without any motivation. these coups d'état are motivated by a certain country that has been waging war in europe, i live in africa and i must say that this idea that european countries are still colonizing africa and that for this reason africa does not evolve is a wrong idea, the problem Africa is not the Europeans, Africa's problem is the Africans themselves who choose corrupt and characterless leaders and who are not patriots

Do you mean Russia? I know that this country is interested in creating chaos throughout the world. As for the underlying reasons, I agree that internal reasons take precedence - most African countries have too short a history of freedom and instead of enjoying democracy and developing, the people who come to power are leading the country back to various forms of personal dictatorship. This is the problem with all young/new democracies - they are very unstable.

In today's games, it seems to me that the bet only on Egypt is relevant. In the Mali-South Sudan pair, Mali is also a huge favorite, but I don’t know anything about the stability of this team.

For the first time in African football history, a country has produced male and female Balon D'or nominees in the same year and that I think is a big achievement for Nigeria and also a very commendable feat that's been achieved by the most populous black nation.
Victor Osimhen and Asisat Oshoala deserves their nominations after an impressive season with their respective European clubs. That been said, I don't think any of them stands a chance to win the prestigious prize when it'll be announced on 30 October at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris.

It is good to hear that news even though I doubt there will be an African player winning Balon d'Or this season. For the case of Osimhen, he is good and everything but Nigerian team didn't achieve big things and the player himself wasn't consistent all the time.
We will know who is the winner and whether Nigeria woll get something.

Considering the number of quality world class players at the team's disposal, Nigeria I think is one of the best African football countries at the moment and shouldn't be struggling to win their group and qualify for the next edition of the CAF ACON finals.
One of the things that's caused them defeats in the past is their continuous attempts to underrate their opponents and if they can take the their tomorrow game against Sao Tome and Principe very serious, beating them shouldn't be  hard task for the Super Eagles.

I can't say the Super Eagles are going to show superior in this game because they know how to give us different types of upset, if they don't draw they'll lose and who knows they might even play poorly with a goal to nil.

I hope you give them a thumbs up openly (especially on this thread) because they just scored more than 5 goals (6 precisely) and they also played very well and not just scoring, they dominated the whole match and at some point it began to look like the boys were just training. I never had a doubt of the boys disgracing São Tomé and Príncipe because I never knew we had an African nation with such name and didn't know they usually play Africa qualifiers. Don't doubt the Super eagles in qualifiers because we always dominate that tournament but chicken out when it comes to the main thing. Victor Osimhen hattrick is my highlights of the game, I always knew the Super eagles were going to win especially as we were playing at home but I didn't expect them putting on an absolute fantastic display like this as watching the match gave me another excitement on its own. Scoring just two goals in the first half I thought the game would end with a 2-1 scoreline but after the boys continue dominating the game in the second half I knew it was going to be a disgracing performance from the Super eagles. I don't blame Sao Tome for not putting on a fight because they knew they were already not qualifying for the AFCON tournament but I also loved the fact that the Super eagles didn't let the idea of them already qualified make them to go easy on Sao Tome.

I already forgotten that it was this same Sao Tome that Nigeria defeated 10goals to nil.
When I read your part of statement that Sao Tome which is not a footballing country threatened to beat Nigeria, I laughed and decided to check out the country that collected 10goals from the Super Eagles and behold it was Sao Tome.
If you should sum the total of Super Eagles goal against Sao Tome it should be 16goals to nil and that is a disgraceful result and I wonder why the people allowed this to happen to them twice.

You are right, who knows what the nations cup will bring for Osimhen next year because I believe that his performance will be superb and he will make Nigeria go far because he is a world class striker. I knew it that as long as Osimhen will be in the match he must score a goal,but he went ahead to give me a hattrick.

I felt ashamed and disappointed at Sao Tome after bragging that they will win us at home. A country that just started learning football, no wonder they went back home with half a dozen of goals. The Nigerian star boy, Osimehn really impressed me today again by scoring hatrick. Even when the group stage was drawn for the AFCON qualifiers, I never had a second doubt that Nigeria will not top the group, and they really did top the group by obtaining 5 wins, 1 draw and 0 loss. This performance shows that the Nigeria team could go far in the AFCON if they are able to repeat the same performance as they did in this qualifiers.

@Frankolala in the game of football every team has what's called a bragging right it doesn't matter who your are up against you still need to keep your teams moral high as a coach, it's a psychological battle before that of the pitch where it then turn physical. And by standards Sao Tome is not within the range of  the Nigerian team so there's nothing to praise the super eagles so high about winning a team like Sao Tome, it was a walkover game for Nigeria even before it started and to me 6 goals is nothing compared to their last meeting which Nigeria won by 10 goals.  Winning Sao Tome doesn't guarantee a chance for Nigeria winning the AFNC next year, I can bet on that.

Top Boy, I was suppose to see the game live for I was present in that state ( Uyo ). Plans turned sideways, I followed the game on flashscore.
A total of sixteen goals between the both legs.
Osimhen and the rest of the squad has made men proud. I must also say a big kudos to the coach who has been the head of all these positive results.

Before the Nations Cup, Osimhen should be crowned the African best player because he has got to be the right man for the award.

Yeah even though Sao Tomé-et-Principe is a weak team but Nigeria did pretty well there knocking them with 6 goals to 0 with Victor Osimhen scoring half of them
It would be nice seeing Nigeria getting back its performance and why not winning the Cup here and participation again in World Cup in USA, Canada and Mexico.
Only 3 games left in this competition, Guinea-Bissau will remain second whatever the result of its match is.
Cameroon - Burundi match is very important since both teams have the same number of points and the ranking in that group will change depending from the result.

Super Eagle’s already played against Sao Tome and Principe today, and the Super Eagles played a fantastic match by scoring six goals in the match. I knew the match wouldn’t give the Super Eagles any difficult moments, even if they didn’t train before the match, I know the super eagles are going to win the match. We all know the amount of goals the Super Eagles scored in their first leg against Sao Tome Principe, so I knew today’s match would also be an easy win for the Super Eagles. Victor Osimhen will always surprise everyone. I'm not surprise about Nigeria victory against  Sao tome, this is  a team Nigeria is supposed to defeat with lots of goals just like they did because Sao Tome is a weak team and it was seen in their performance, it is expected for Nigeria to win the game  with several goals. It would have been something else if Nigeria was struggling with Sao Tome in the match. Nigeria performance was impressive, but I'm not concluding if their performance have become better than in the last AFCON tournament until they meet a stronger team which I can see if they have improve or not.

I am very surprised with the final result of group H, I expected that at least the ivory coast would manage to finish in the first position, it seems to me that every year the ivory coast has been declining, this is due to the corruption that is in that country and Of the bodies that run soccer, the fate of the Ivory Coast is that in this group, Lesotho and the Comoros are teams that do not play well, so they were easy targets for the Ivory Coast, Zambia surprised, but it is strange that Zambia They only manage to do well in the group stages, when they are in the cup they are a disaster.

It was a flawless victory that Nigeria players gave Sao Tome without pity. This shows that Sao Tome is too weak for the super eagles to play,if you look at their performance it was very poor and it was like Nigerians were training them on the field. Sao Tome, only had one shot to the goal post which is strange to me. I have seen that this present super eagle,Osimhen and his group will take Nigeria football to a higher level because they are international players. It was good yo see Osimhen scoring a hattrick and it was a fantastic game. Sao Tome was disappointed with today's match as they conceded 6 goals. This weekend matches which was the qualifiers games,was filled with so many goals.
