Today, the Nigerian Super Falcons would face England. Personally, I am in high spirits and expect a win from the girls. I look forward to Asisat and Alozie taking the team to the next round of the competition. I know that the role of teamwork cannot be downplayed as the two aforementioned players can't do it alone. No doubt, this is going to be one of the toughest games the girls would play in this competition and so by all means, they must win. Losing is not an option. Predictions; 2- 1 in favor of Nigeria.

You must have missed the fixture, it's today, not yesterday and the game is on with England finding it difficult to score Nigeria as I expected. Personally, I need this game for Nigeria to win because those girls deserve it and it's another way to prove that the African giant could still deliver in this time that our men are no more referenced much in the realm of football. It's still 0-0 at the 41st time of the football with the possession on the side of England. Even if our ladies did not score at all, let them not conceal any goal, and let luck play its way this time in penalty.

This has always been the statement both when the boys play and now the girls too, it's always 'what a team' we don't capitalized on opportunity to take the leads in games and win them. So was it only defending the girls planned for the england game and if it was only to be defending, didn't they know that it'll take them to penalty shootout so they needed to practice for the shootouts as well and not come out to carry our hopes up and just let us down at the last minutes. Having 20 shots and just two been on target tells you have poor the girls are, going forward. England had just 12 and they got 4 on target. We couldn't capitalized on a 10 woman team to win the game.

They'll have to explain for a very long time because there's no evidence they were in the tournament and as good as people are praising them to be, holding england to a draw and them still winning the game isn't an accomplishment. At the moment both South Africa and Nigeria are out of the tournament and just Morocco women are left, can they pull off another surprised like the man did in the FIFA world cup in Qatar. They'll be playing against France later today and I wish them luck because they'll need it as the France women team are very good. African teams both in the man national team and that of the women needs to stand up and prove they deserved to be in the conversation of world title winners.

Morocco was even poorer than I thought as watching the highlight will just make you want to off the television. Looking at the statistics Morocco has no chance of winning France. Not only where they outplayed in possession but France utilized their chances very well which is something the African nations are yet to mastered. France has 15 shots and 5 on target (scoring 4) and the reason for that is because they already won the game in the first half and needed to reserved their strength for the quarter finals.

France dominated the game having 75% possession of the ball and Morocco has just 25% and having only 1 shot of the ball which wasn't even on target (that's how poor they were). All hopes has ended for all the African countries in the tournament and that of the super falcons is the most painful as I expected better from them. They were the best team African had in the tournament but their mistakes started from not taking their chances in the group stage by topping it when they had the opportunity to avoid nations like england. The point is that, even if they top the group and evade England in the round of 16, they were still going to meet another quality team in the quarter finals. About England, Super falcons matched England 100% despite not having the same squad quality and depth that England has. In my opinion, the biggest mistake the made in that match was not capitalizing on the fact that England were 1 woman down and use that as an advantage to win the match. After that red card was issued, I expected Super falcons to press and put England in a right corner or in a position to commit mistakes but they just relaxed and let England dominate till the end of extra time.

Among all African teams, Super falcons came the closest to qualifying for the quarter finals round but didn't take the opportunity.

Overall, African teams in this tournament has sent a strong message to other continents. It will only get better from here imo.

Sorry who again where we expecting to do better at the tournament if not the Super falcons that are the most dominate team in woman competition in African. Doing something you were expected to do based on your ability isn't an achievement maybe if another team did better then they can be praised but not the super falcons.They basically own the continent and we were expecting better from them. Let say they avoid a strong team in the round of 16, it'll add to their motivation when they get to the quarter finals because theybahbe achieved something that's historical. In this stages of the game anything can happen as the teams that wants the win more can win the game irrespective of their different strength.

It's just like in mens finals that the winner can't be determined until the final whistle blows because finals are very unpredictable and I believe the girls knowing that they have the support of the whole continent could have been able to pull a surprised. You're right they didn't seize the opportunity that presented itself Infront of them when the england side went 1 woman down but when you think about it, wasn't that red card in the 98 minutes. It would have been late by then because the girls would have been tired and we know the foreign teams are built different because of the different endurance training they undergo unlike the African teams that I don't think they have much technical training.

The super Falcons did absolutely well in their performance that saw them outed at a stage others dared to reach.
The Lagos state Governor while receiving the super Falcons was quoted as calling Asisat Oshoala one of the best players for the female side, what we call, 'Agba Baller' meaning in my context, Person wey Sabi.
In English, it means an excellent or special calibre of a person.
The falcons did the continent proud and we all know and agree that the England Lionesses are more than likely to become winners of the ongoing female world cup. No doubt am expecting the Falcons ranking to move up after their impressive display.

Otherwise, Ghana won with 2 goals to 1 vs Central African Republic. Ghana ended up in the first place in Group E followed by Angola.

These coups were only condemned by African organizations and had some sanctions but they did not have any sanctions in terms of soccer, so much so that Niger, which was a country that had a coup d'état, is playing against Uganda at the moment, and is losing, so am I. I didn't look at Niger as having any chance of winning this game, they are a country with a lot of corruption and their national team in this tournament was unable to obtain at least one victory, the most they achieved with a good result were 2 draws, while I was writing this one of mine post Niger lost in the game against Uganda, so Niger no longer has any chance of moving on to another stage

I followed the first half of Tunisia 3 - 0 Botswana. Tunisian team missed opportunities in the first half and Botswana failed to score a single goal. Later, in the second half, Botswana players are owned by Tunisians

There is a strong force that football carries, even amidst adversities, people will prefer to watch football.
It is right that some parts of Africa, especially the West in having fights and coups which will affect football in those countries.

Ghana keeping their first place of the league,yesterday Ghana game was unique against the Central African Republic.The goal scorer of Ghana was Kudus who scored the first goal to the Ghana at the 43 minutes of rhe match.Even though the Central Africa Republican had scored  his goal in 25 minutes.The Ghana made their two unique goals for the benefit of their team,this made the Ghana to shine in the league.The effort of Louis was went to vein because of loss in the game by the one goal difference.

For the first time in African football history, a country has produced male and female Balon D'or nominees in the same year and that I think is a big achievement for Nigeria and also a very commendable feat that's been achieved by the most populous black nation.
Victor Osimhen and Asisat Oshoala deserves their nominations after an impressive season with their respective European clubs. That been said, I don't think any of them stands a chance to win the prestigious prize when it'll be announced on 30 October at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris.
