Monero, after suddenly rose from 0.0108 to 0.0116 BTC has fallen to 0.0111 BTC on exchanges. In addition, price chart of Monero gives me a feeling that I can get quick profits if I buy the coin now. Maybe it is not much profits, but I can enter and exit quickly by taking advantage of coming bounces of Monero. It deserves to act fast, take acceptable low riks, and get profits in short period of investment. Moreover, it might be one of last chance to accumulate cheap Monero (in BTC pair) before the storm of altcoins. Are those miniscule differences worth a trade? or make a loss with fees? aside of risk

It's best investment for the brighter future to get started early retire life because it is one of the best coin ever. I'm also very bullish it is still profitable and it has big potential to rise to the moon.

This means that in the future Monero can make a very good profit. But the main thing is confidentiality. No other coin has this level of anonymity. And perhaps this is one of the most decentralized projects. I think Monero can be compared to Bitcoin, in a sense, but among anonymous coins.

I guess if you have a large enough stack to push around but I certainly wouldn't take that risk.

bytecoin is the real monero weee
Bytecoin is a scam coin, and it has not any kind of quality to compare with Monero. For years, Bytecoin has shown clearly that it is real shitty and scam coin. I remembered the period in early of 2017, when Bytecoin traded around 1 or 2 satoshis, then due to growths of bitcoin and crypto market, Bytecoin moved to unbelievable high prices. Then over the year of 2018 and by now, Bytecoin fell back to around 11 satoshis or 12 satoshis, but I have a feeling that the coin won't stop there soon. I guess Bytecoin might drop back to below 5 satoshis or even hit 2 satoshis before bouncing back significantly. It should come back to where it goes. How about Monero? It is one of the top altcoins, one of the most favorite privacy coins, that tell us lots of things.

I am in a dilemma about buying RX 580 Sapphire 4gb or RX 580 Sapphire 8gb. Also I am looking at XFX Black Edition RX 570 4gb. Want to mine Monero CNR algo with Team Red Miner. I know that I will get 1050 hash for the 8gb, but what about 4gb?
Thanks!

Spoetnik is the real gembitz I think you hit the nail on the head. I finally gave up on him the other day. Try the mining thread, but getting the 8gb 580 is the best bet as the costs are close and it will last longer. Remember that if you get the 8gb then it is worth more if you resell as 4gb is going the way of the dodo bird. Also Sapphire is a much better quality product than XFX and the 580 is a much better card than the 570.

Actually the price between 4gb and 8gb is almost double, the 4gb is $80 (xfx) $90 (sapphire) and the 8gb is $150 (sapphire). The prices are for used cards.

This interested me. https://youtu.be/O5AjdlBMm1w?t=520After checking this out. https://www.abra.com/cryptocurrency/monero/https://www.abra.com/blog/2019-mit-bitcoin-expo/At first glance it looked sketchy btu this guy has been around. https://hackernoon.com/bill-barhydt-on-how-abra-is-building-a-global-bank-with-bitcoin-ef5f66d9b787?gi=cc99fc93f080https://www.finextra.com/pressarticle/75455/abra-adds-monero-to-platformRiccardo "fluffypony" Spagni, the South African-based Lead Maintainer of the Monero Project, said Monero's inclusion on the Abra platform would further boost the ability of investors in emerging markets across Africa and the world to unlock new markets and opportunities.
"Together with Abra, we share a common goal of creating a system of global financial services that have no centralised authorities involved in their creation, distribution, enforcement or usage," said Spagni. "Beyond that, the increased liquidity and awareness for Monero that Abra will generate is an incredibly exciting development for the Monero community."

It is a big pleasure of Monero to be mentioned publicly by theymos on its anonymity. The guide of admin on decent mixing methods and Monero is one of the best two options with cheap fees to use is a good recognition on the anonymous transaction of Monero. However, the key is to maintain anonymity totally depends on each person in the way of using internet and moving funds. Monero, Wasabi, or any other kinds of mixer services are not able to guarentee 100% of anonymity. Most "tumblers", like the now-defunct bestmixer.io or even ChipMixer, aren't great because they are needlessly expensive, you're trusting the service not to run away with your coins, and you're trusting the service not to keep logs. Maybe they're the best current solution for small amounts where lasting anonymity isn't mission-critical, but in most cases you shouldn't use them.
Anonymity is very difficult, especially with blockchain-based systems where so much data has to be public, but also in other areas (eg. there are several known weaknesses with Tor). You should always operate with the expectation that any anonymity system you use will eventually fail you. If you're ever confident in your anonymity, then you're wrong.
That said, there are two halfway-decent mixing methods currently:
----snip-----
#2 - Monero
Monero is not a magic black box which provides perfect anonymity! If you use eg. flyp.me to buy XMR and then quickly sell this XMR on flyp.me again, it is blatantly obvious to flyp.me what you've done (if they keep logs), both due to the amounts and the specific Monero inputs used. In order to get decent privacy, you have to do something like this: 1. Convert BTC to XMR (using your own Monero wallet, not a hosted wallet). 2. In two or more transactions of random amounts, move XMR from that wallet to a different wallet/account. 3. Optionally, you can repeat the above step with additional wallets/accounts for greater anonymity. 4. Preferably in two or more transactions of random amounts, convert the XMR in your last wallet in the chain to BTC. Ideally, all of the above should be performed over as long a period of time as you can tolerate.
- Pros: Possibly the best anonymity, especially if you're able to stay within the XMR ecosystem to some extent - Cons: You should use Tor with Monero, but you have to set this up manually; it's all more difficult; you're exposed to exchange rate risk; transaction fees may be significant
Anonymity comparison between the two
Both Wasabi and Monero can be thought of in terms of "anonymity sets". If you're spending some BTC with an anonymity set of 50, this means that an observer can see that the sender is one of 50 people, but they can't tell which. So someone investigating a particular transaction you sent would have you "in their sights" to a certain extent from the start since you're among the 50, but in order to prove that you sent it, they'd have to either eliminate 49 other people from consideration or find some other evidence linking you to it.
Wasabi always aims for an anonymity set of 50 when mixing. Monero has an anonymity set of 11 per transaction. If you cascade transactions as I suggest above, then this multiplies, so after two transactions you have an anonymity set of 11*11=121, and after a cascade of three you'd have an anonymity set of 1331.
The quality of each member in the anonymity set isn't quite comparable, though. Monero is able to hide transaction amounts, which is helpful, but I tend to consider the quality of Monero anonymity-set-members to be lower on average, since many are probably owned by hosted wallets or other possible global adversaries.
