what is the expected price at launch and two days after. Any guess?

I think in the long term 1000 sat is not impossible. It's a long shot but not impossible. Realistically, in the days/weeks following the launch, I think we should be very happy if we're able to maintain the value above 50 sat. That's taking into account dumping which will automatically ensue as soon as the price rises.
But let's wait and see, we'll only have an idea of the number of weak hands in our midst once trading is live.

That's pretty low, imho. Qora has 10 billion coins, Ora 50 million. For same capitalization it means 200x higher price. So about 4000 sat.
=> so I would expect a min of 1000 sat. to start with.

If it's 50M coins, that means each person is getting around 60K each (at 811 stakeholders)? I admit I'm a bit confused, as I'm seeing different numbers being thrown around.

1000 as a starting point seems fair figuring in capitalization. 1000-4000 is very possible then. Although we need to keep in mind dumpers. Then again, NEM did quite well and seemed to avoid cheap dumps.

Well, just because the stakeholder list is closed doesn't mean you can't get on board.
1. Chances are registrations might open again sometime (this is still undecided).
2. Perhaps some people will dump, then you can grab some Ora that way.
3. There'll be bounties and donations.

So there's still all time in the world if you'd like to be a part of the project.

many people ask the price
ok,i think the price maybe very low than you think
1.No wallt
2.community is not strong
3.qora's cap is low
also i want to say we have to change the rule
1.the left stake should distribution like this, 30% for reopen,30% for development(website, wallet, design,marketing.....).20% for giveaway,20% for a fund
2.copy the BTS code because BTS have a strong community and DPOS is better than POS QORA even not decide when to release the resources .ORA  maybe the first BTS clone because BM will help us.
3.We also need marketing people to make people notice that ora is different

1billion total coins for Ora.

50M to 1 Billion ... big difference.

And will there be one round of stakes, or two? Again, curious what we may be getting and max coins, but that seems difficult to figure out with the various numbers being thrown around. Probably useful for the devs to clear that up, just so when people start selling this they have an idea as to valuation.

Using Qora or Nem as a basis could make sense, assuming we know max coins + how many rounds of stakes there are.

On the Bitshares front I agree, after all I am the one that suggesting it both in this thread and also on their forum.
This makes you suggestion for the left over stakes impossible though, as they (Bitshares) expect min 20% of all coins distributed to their supporters. Which is doable and there still will be a lot of left over free stakes for whatever Ora decides.

@Kora, don't forget to announce the asset on the Nxt forum Asset Board stating the respective promoter of the asset.
https://nxtforum.org/assets-board/

Thanks for that suggestion! Darkhorse will be creating the ORA asset on the NXT AE sometime today probably. We could post something like this on the asset board:

ORA
Promoter(s)
Darkhorse, Mac Red, fragORA, nioccoin, Kora
What is it?
ORA is a leaderless, decentralised 'starfish' community software development project announced on May 22 2014. [INSERT NUMBER] people initially registered between June 24 - July 8 2014 for a FREE stake of [insert number] assets each. The remaining ORA assets were held in trust for later distribution to community members & future developers. ORA asset tokens are issued as bearer assets. Whoever controls the private keys for an amount of ORA asset tokens will be eligible to redeem an equivalent amount of ORA 'coins' if/when the ORA software and P2P network is completed. The asset issuer is unable to guarantee either the completion of the ORA software, or the exchange of ORA asset tokens into ORA coins. Please research the ORA project before purchasing ORA assets. The terms & conditions & date of the redemption will be finalised after community consultation.

I don't get it yet, do I miss sth? Ora should be distributed fairly. If each share is 166,000, 800 shares, so there are 0.14 billion almost.
How about the left Ora? More than 0.8 billion Ora will be used for marketing or bounties or dev team?
So, where is the fair distribution?

Yuzu, if you submit a smashing logo for Ora you may potentially obtain a fraction or even a full stake.

go here, read and submit a logo: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=697958.0

as you can read the description, there is an nxt voting to decide what to do with the rest of the coins.  and fair distribution is that all users on the list receive the same amount and it doesn't matter if you are a hero or a newbie or a junior.

So, I did miss sth. I remember I voted at BTT thread. I do agree with this : "fair distribution is that all users on the list receive the same amount and it doesn't matter if you are a hero or a newbie or a junior. "
But if more than 80% is under the control of Dev team, it's not a good sign, I'm just worried about that.

your worry is normal because the coin is not distributed , so it is something the we know about it only theoretically but i think all worries will disappear once this will be released

50% free distribution but the first distribution only 15% ~ 150M

Why 166,666 ORA/stake?

Will everyone receive 2 stake or 3 stake?
