I recently found this CLAM faucet: https://cryptospout.com/faucet/hourly_clamcoin_faucet.htmlIt has a bunch of CLAM links, but I see the "Website" link goes to one of the unofficial CLAM pages. There's a link to submit proposed changes to the links, so maybe it would be worth fixing and/or adding links.

I know the talk was if we would take off the Google ads we could shift to Clamcoin.org being official. However, I'm just not really interested in that at this time. I've made it clear to Dandi that I'm 1000% ok if he works with Creative & Crew then uses the exact same layout minus the google ads. I just think at the end of the day the domain is dominate and I'm not looking to ruffle any feathers too bad, so the link/note at the bottom of Clamcoin.org will remain. I do intend on lobbying sites who accept CLAM to link Clamcoin.org regardless of "official or unofficial"... That just sounds so damn silly in a decentralization project. However I'll play ball. Same with a selfmodded thread + a love for freedom of speech. But you know

I just sent them a message, and have also done so multiple times with other sites that list the "wrong" website. Attempts to make clamcoin.org the "official" website were unsuccessful. There has been recent talk of a bounty for a new custom website. When this happens, hopefully all CLAM websites will redirect to it. As for what the official domain is going to be, for the sake of unity, I think everybody has gotten over their problems with the name CLAMcoin. But other problems with that site do remain. I think bayareacoins owns that domain. If this issue is finally going to be solved, then the easiest way to do that would simply be for bayareacoins to transfer the domain to one of the original two developers, xploited or creativecuriousity, then they can work with bounty-hired web developer to build upon it.

Probably not going to just turn over my domain. That seems a bit silly and I want to have my say in how the site is developed. I would be interested in leasing it for a fair amount. It's really hard for me to encourage Dandi to work further on the project without the site earning anything to reward him with. The tasteful ads on the site are to reward dandi and I for our work... We haven't received a SINGLE tip from ANY of "you" dispute our positive work on the CLAM project. Instead you frown on more than one site up & call it "unofficial"... lol Put y'alls money where your mouth is. Let's pay dandi $20 an hour to work on this fucker and I'll donate my time for a site vision/consultant. I bet we can make something pretty cool. Let's encourage people to work on CLAM. Not make them feel murky/unofficial for trying to be apart of the project. I also think this thread shouldn't be self modded. That needs to change.

It makes the most sense at this time for the most senior CLAM developers to hold those keys. CLAMclient.com is seen as not very marketable, and the owner of CLAMcoin.org wants to keep control, so let's just explore other options. Neither of the existing two names really describes the current vision of the project, which is much more than just a client or a coin. It's the blockchain, baby

It's the blockchain, baby Clamcoin.com was for sale through Sedo. They tried to charge me for nothing so I sent them a picture of a freshly minted Buttcoin... Now their buy button doesn't work. I think it'd be a really good domain. Only for a few hundred dollars (I don't own it.)

Despite your tin-foil hat, no one has intended to make you feel "murky" or frowned upon, BAC. You own a fan-site. That is appreciated. It is not the "official" site. That is important. No one involved with CLAM has any incentive to "push" the official web site. In fact, I think everyone involved, including garthkiser, would just assume hand it over to someone else. Why all this "official" stuff then?Security and trust are important facets of CLAM. This is especially important for CLAM - given the inevitable set of users which will import addresses which still control BTC, LTC and DOGE. We consistently recommend that users empty public keys before claiming; some will almost certainly not do so.
I also think this thread shouldn't be self modded. That needs to change.
A protection which has only been used a handful of times in over a year, almost exclusively to remove spam. You know how to read - read the thread. If this thread was in the habit of "censoring" communications it would be half as long as it is now. Why all this "self-moderated" stuff then?Security and trust are important facets of CLAM. That seems to be the consensus. Content has been being moved over to a development server over the last couple days. The web site will not be a single-page scroll down, but will include a new user "landing" page that is very similar. Working on pulling in some API's at the moment, so that it is useful for more than just download links. Anyone have an opinion of the following nodejs BB? https://nodebb.org/
EDIT: typo.

Well lets point Clamclient.com @ Clamcoin.org and skip all the fuss. We can do what we need to do in order to make her nice and secure. As of right my fan site uses the clamclient download which should be plenty secure. (hack it if not) I also think this thread shouldn't be self modded. That needs to change.

Nothing personal to you, but I originally bought these sites just in case the Coin needed to rebrand and follow a Dooglus fork. CLAM's history of being exploited by developers is worrisome. (I do believe you and xploited though) Decentralization... the more fans the merry in my opinion.

I prepared myself for it and wanted to help make any transition for JD users/players as easy as possible IF EVER it happened (plan for the worse and hope for the best.) B: The Rat blackcoin developer. Didn't CLAM used to have a lotto mining structure rather than this consistent 1 CLAM reward? Anyways lets just let this die. Obviously Clamcoin.org isn't an option. I intend on continuing to promote it. Would appreciate being recognized as the official fan site too !

Clams have always been experimental.. though due to increased community and associated value we greatly limit the experimental ideas. Some things work out some things don't, the lottery was a case of the latter. To suggest it represents a worrisome history of exploitation is a little misleading coming from you imo. We (the developers) never claimed to be perfect, In fact I'm sure you can find multiple posts we suggest were not and ask for help. We are however all very passionate about technology and cryptocurrency and most especially clams.

We are however all very passionate about technology and cryptocurrency and most especially clams.
I know you aren't perfect and I really do think you try Xploited however that doesn't mean your system didn't get gamed by a person very high up the ladder. I'm not being misleading & ya it's slightly worrisome... to me this seems misleading: CLAM's history of being exploited by developers is worrisome. (I do believe you and xploited though)
CLAM has a history of being exploited by developers? Funny, you would think I would be aware of such things. Surely to god Creative is aware that tens of thousands of CLAMS were gamed through a lottery system that dooglus spotted and pushed for a fix. Why would she not be aware of such things? Please someone correct me if I'm wrong. I'm not perfect. None of this is new news.
