May I ask you what are the requirements to mint with PoS? I read that the funds should be about 8 hours old, but I didn't catch if there is a minimum amount to have in an address to be able to stake a block.
Thank you
No minimum, in fact, you can mint with 0 coins if I've got my head around the concept. To be safe, have one [coin]. You can't stake any blocks if you have 0 coins. Your chance of staking is proportional to the number of coins you have staking. Coins can't stake if they (1) have been involved in a transaction in the last 4 hours or (2) have staked in the last 500 blocks. The network difficulty adjusts to try to keep the whole network staking 1 block per minute. So if there are 400k CLAMs currently trying to stake, each 1 CLAM has a 1 in 400k chance of staking in any given minute. Roughly.

I think I was fooled by the estimated staking time while having zero coins being an extremely high number of days, but not nil, if you get my meaning.

Look up just 4 posts above yours: Coins can't stake if they (1) have been involved in a transaction in the last 4 hours or (2) have staked in the last 500 blocks.

Just a reminder - Dont forget the IRS if American - Per US Guidelines - Read 8 & 9 of linked http://www.irs.gov/irb/2014-16_IRB/ar12.html - Mining ( Staking) <--didn't see this part fuck tard coins is due to self employment tax if in the US Q–9: Is an individual who “mines” virtual currency as a trade or business subject to self-employment tax on the income derived from those activities?
A–9: If a taxpayer’s “mining” of virtual currency constitutes a trade or business, and the “mining” activity is not undertaken by the taxpayer as an employee, the net earnings from self-employment (generally, gross income derived from carrying on a trade or business less allowable deductions) resulting from those activities constitute self-employment income and are subject to the self-employment tax. See Chapter 10 of Publication 334, Tax Guide for Small Business, for more information on self-employment tax and Publication 535, Business Expenses, for more information on determining whether expenses are from a business activity carried on to make a profit. So if you are somebody like BayAreaCoins in the US who is profiting about 100 Clams a day and paying Dooglus 10% - the US TAX man also would get 18% at the USD daily rate For example using the price allotations below BTC/Clam x USD /BTX * # of BTC could mean owing the US $18 a day if 100 Clams x USD Price of Clams = $100 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=238613.msg10092147#msg10092147Why would I ever pay on USD that I didn't earn? If CLAM heads to 0 like you say then I wouldn't owe anything right? Thanks for your interpretation of the laws + that extra bit you threw in that wasn't there. I have confidence in my CPA and not much income, so I sleep easy at night. Consider this a write request not to use me in your examples any more or anything else... it's getting old and I'd rather just not talk to you or hear you talk about me.

Minor correction: I think the transaction that moves your CLAM from their current location to the JD wallet includes a 0.0001 CLAM transaction fee, which you pay for, so it's not quite "fee free". Having said that, the fee is worth about a tenth hundredth of a US cent, so it's almost free.
