then you're going to have to explain to me why the Yen has been going up for the last coupla decades in the face of a growing debt/GDP of approx. 230% and despite the printing of trillions of Yen to stimulate the economy.  no modern financial system with a mature bond market has ever had a hyperinflation.

That a good point. I'll have to think more about it (belgian beer is too strong for me to think, but so tasty  Grin)
The first thing which come to mind is : Who is selling USD to buy JPY ? Why ?
Second one is : Is it really sustainable ? How ?

I'll (try to) answer to you when I'll sober up

why does gold fold like a cheap suit everytime stocks drop or the USD rises?  doesn't it have any more staying power than that?

what do my sleepy detectors tell me? are you, cypherdoc, in fact, TROLLING?!?

So you, as a voice of reason, would prefer to only hear pro gold opinions?

lol. Oh no, cypherdoc, I wouldn't be reading this thread if I couldn't take bearish metal talk. If I want to hear one-sided pro-gold stuff I go to the various youtube stacker channels.

Also: if gold and silver went to $300/$5, it wouldn't hurt me nearly as much the closing of the glbse and subsequent mini-crash of bitcoin has. In fact all this doesn't hurt me much at all, because I'm a "poor capitalist" - so to speak - and I don't have much value in any pot.

I was merely pointing to the supposed fact that you were kind of blatantly tantalizing people to trigger some emotional response... that's what it seemed to me at the time at least (might've just been me, though).

Thanks for calling me "a voice of reason",... not sure where that comes from Wink

It's been awhile.

This thread was started 3/13:

Bitcoin  5.40

Gold 1690

Today 10/12:

Bitcoin 12.05 (up ~123%)

Gold 1758   (up ~4%)

BTC took a lil ride down then up after the GLBSE fiasco.  I missed out on the dip thu, didn't think it would be as significant as it was.

PM's seem kinda stuck/stable.

BTC is still outperforming gold.

Gold is slowly collapsing upwards.
