you have to edit generate bat and start new plot above the last one

BTC compared to PASC looks like big clumsy dinosaur - still not aware of meteor coming.

Edit , what do i have to edit ?
my bat file is just
Code:
c:\Windows\SysWOW64\java -Xmx1000m -cp pocminer.jar;lib/*;lib/akka/*;lib/jetty/* pocminer.POCMiner generate 6286766055087500999  0 800000 500 3

i was hoping that restarting wouldn't impact mining

is there a way to tell your hash rate , to compair setting or from my computer to a better computer

BTW this coin is a bit nerdish , kinda like cyrptonote -  even i had trouble just opening the file and clicking start
how are we going to make it main stream if most user here have trouble with it - let alone mainstream

or do we just want to trade it between the 100 so user that have it.

how much plot do you have in "plots" folder, how much plot do you want to make?

+1

I think when we will have a pool it will be better, but we need something easier.. Maybe an exe with a gui where we can generate the password, the plots, run the wallet, start mining and everything we need..! I'm totally not able to make something like this, but if someone it's able, it will helps the spread of this amazing coin and its value! And I'm sure that the community will donates to the creator!

So this is my take (and i'm somewhat of a "techie").
The instructions are OK, but are a little misleading.
Instructions need to be more clear and concise with some "non tech" explanations.
When starting up from scratch, there needs to be an easier way to approach this. The Wallet and keywords, just too cumbersome for a regular user.
What happens if I have 2 computers? What happens if i have 2 or 3 or more harddrives or raid? Well, this needs to be clear.

I'm not against this coin, it may have it's place, but there won't be too much adaptation when this clearly looks "alpha" stage right now.
Good try, but I will pass for now. I tried getting this thing to work, got some "mixed" help from the group and actually mined for 13 hours - guess what, found no blocks and I'm using a 1.5TB harddrive (withing nothing on it other than the 2 folders for this coin).

I'm going to pass on this until this coin leaves "Alpha" and moves into a more mainstream consumer friendly model.

Good Luck Everyone.

You could simplify the steps alot, like create a GUI, look for java, check with what heap size it can run, adjust staggermant and let the user define start nounce and file size (not nounce range), done.

You could also print out estimate time left for generation.

Every nounce you've created is a hash so hashrate is defined by available plots, machine power doesn't really matter, faster hdd does a bit but my machine scans 3 TB in about 2 minutes (i7 with two normal 2 tb drives) with cpu running at 10% and hdd at 80% xD

Trying to get on an exchange at this stage is far too early. There isnt even any pool, a logo etc. Hitting an exchange would be the wrong move in the moment

Its been 48 hours and still no block.
Im waiting to see if this actually works before getting ahold of several harddrives.
