Hello all..   do you remember me?  I was really lucky and I solved 3 blocks within a few weeks time.   The third one was (i believe? ) the pools first ever orphan...  that was a bad day.  I'm sure Con remembers.  My screen name was wmtomlinso.

So, have you guys noticed that Bitmain has posted some new firmware for a few miners.   Not knowing any better, I installed this new firmware on my L3+.  I saw no improvements so I proceeded to put my 3rd party firmware (Blissz) back and now the miner will not accept it.  Evidently, bitmain added a security enhancement to prevent us from loading any firmware except official, signed firmware from bitmain.

Have you guys observed this?  and is there a workaround?  And forgive me for posting off topic.   but I know that you guys will know about it and point me in the right direction.

If it really was a found block it would have been there by now.  What is the best share?

How does that compare with current Bitcoin difficulty?

A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text.
Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing?
A: Top-posting.

Dunno, maybe you were mining an altcoin?

That, and bitmain's firmware is notorious for being "wrong."

could be, but i would place my bet on you having a back-up pool on nicehash, so someone rented your hashrate to mine some shitcoin and found a block on that coin! . shit happens. one of my S9s found over 170 blocks while mining on NH with best share not even high enough to solve the first block that was mined by satoshi lol.

Guys, how do you set up difficulty when mining on this pool using mining rig rentals?
Ive put 100000 on password field  d=100000, but everytime the miner connects, it gets shares of 10k. Ive even set it up with 1million diff, but still on 10k.
Am i doing something wrong?

If you use an incompatible rental service that refuses to work on port 3333 try port 4334
