I've been playing around with the Satoshidice APIs and have gotten stumped on placing a bet.  The string I'm sending is:

https://session.satoshidice.com/userapi/placebet.php?secret=f58***************ba5d#DoNotShareThisURL&betInSatoshis=100&id=52682211&serverHash=8e0ee37b2169ee39f950a92e24b254231db6a05ac5e0ba7419368a73c99a1b52&clientRoll=8237&belowRollToWin=32000

There are no coins at this address, if you were wondering.  The error that is being returned is :

[nextRound] => Array
        (
            [id] => 52682211
            [hash] => 8e0ee37b2169ee39f950a92e24b254231db6a05ac5e0ba7419368a73c99a1b52
            [welcomeMessage] =>
            [maxProfitInSatoshis] => 2491925551
        )

    [status] => fail
    [failcode] => 2
    [verbose] => Invalid belowRollToWin
    [processLog] => Array
        (

  • => onlyAvailableIfDebugTrue
        )

I've tried everything I can think of to get past the "Invalid belowRollToWin" and I am making no progress.  I get the same error whether the account has coins or not, so that's not it.  You can paste that url in your browser and see if you get the same error.  If I can get to a "failcode = 19 Bet is bigger than balance" then I've made progress.

You should not include the "#DoNotShareThisURL" in the secret variable. But it seems you're getting the wrong error message.

Any idea how long it might take for the site to be back up again?

SatoshiDice may have an issue with their daily leaderboards and prizes. I should have received roughly 0.15 BTC for being top on the leaderboards, however mysteriously someone else has won that day's prize despite them not betting on that day.

Here's my email to support:

Quote
Hello,

I bet yesterday and had a profit of ~1.3 btc, win of ~2.6 BTC. I was in the top position of those leaderboards.

I looked at the Past Winners, and for 2015-08-06 it says Investor09493 has won. Fair enough. However, this user was last active on 2015-08-05 17:03:59. How could he have won anything for those leaderboards, if he hasn't bet on that day?

I have tried to bet again today and can confirm the last active on my account says 2015-08-07, for the 2015-08-07 leaderboard. So it can't be an off by one error.

Looking forward to your response.

Best

SatoshiDICE has never responded (it's been a month).

I think the Satoshi network is basically dead. SatoshiDice doesn't answer support, SatoshiCircle is using an expired ssl cert, and SatoshiCircle has an unpatched session leak for months.

maybe the other satoshi gambling sites are having a problem, but believe me SatoshiDice is still kicking! It is my favorite casino now! Cheesy Cheesy

Sorry, you're right. I deleted my rather unprofessional post. Just sad watching such a legend go this way. They do seem totally functional, you're just  a little SOL if you need their support though (I too emailed support a few months ago, and never heard back from them).

Maybe try PM-ing this guy, he is the PR manager of SatoshiDice:
