1. not near enough to any non-Muslims to damage them;
2. a little fearful for their own safety just like any violent people are to some extent;

Are Muslims wrong? I think the story gets written by journalists/governments in your own country. Over the centuries every religion or other group have been violent. Depending on the victor the story gets written.

I personally think the western countries are staged. It's starting to look like the hunger games. Western countries are being played by sports events and meaningless roles within the government. While third world countries burn if they make one step towards a more united civilization. Bread and circuses.
