Why prick? He's generally been very helpful anytime I've seen people ask questions, regarding anything from setting up a miner software to writing opencl code. He also seems to be generally polite and genial. Just curious where the hate for him is arising from...

If Satoshi had been that selfish, none of us would be here today.

So why do you blame wolf0? Because he wants to get a few Bitcoins by mining with a faster kernel he wrote?

That is the difference between Satoshi and this wolf idiot.

Most opensource developers also have commercial projects. Everybody wants to make money ;-)

Just to be fair, he is responsible for the fastest open source cryptonight cpu miner, and I think the fastest open source neoscrypt kernel for sgminer, so it's not like he's contributed nothing. He's also pretty much just a kid, and I think a bit disappointed in how much users will donate to open source tech, so I don't begrudge him possibly keeping some code to himself/paying customers.

I still prefer open source because you can check there are no backdoors in the code.

People don't donate, that's a fact (I have 20 years of experience). That's why opensource developers, like myself, work on "commercial" projects alongside free ones. Nobody should scream, that's life :-D

It's a shame that people don't see the value in what open source delivers.
