@derek543

No response about the forum name? Could you explain the logic behind choosing that name?
Also, I see that you're offering free VIP membership, but does that mean you're going to charge for VIP membership at a later date?

If so, what will you charge?
1002  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Share your favourite gambling site and story behind it on: January 03, 2019, 03:33:58 PM
For me it's a no-brainer: Crypto-Games

Why? Well, first and foremost they've supported me on this forum since 2015 through their signature campaign.
Okay, you might think that makes me a little bit biased and you're probably correct. That said, I actually do also like to gamble there.

They've been active here on Bitcointalk for several years, haven't got a single trustworthy negative review and their website is generally very pleasant to use.

Why would I switch to another website? Crypto-games supports most of the major altcoins and Bitcoin and they offer near instant withdraws.
Deposits are added after just 1 confirmation.

They also have a lot of promotions, always without rollover requirements.

Their chat on the Crypto-Games website actually has some decent discussion going on. Their rules are stricter than on other gambling websites, but it hugely improves the quality of conversation. Big fan of that!

Also, at 0.8% house edge, it just makes sense to play dice there. Haven't seen too many websites that have a lower house-edge.
And their games are fast, simple graphics make for fast games.

That's about it really Smiley
1003  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Postponed ICO after bounty campaign on: January 03, 2019, 12:58:11 PM
Are you really that surprised about this? They have absolutely no legal obligation towards you to pay out any of the bounties anyway.
You agreed to those terms when you signed up for the bounties in the first place.

Just out of curiosity, what's the most anyone has ever made, just by doing these sorts of bounties?
1004  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🎅Crypto-Games.net 🎅4 Years Old 🎅LARGEST wagering contest 🎅Christmas presents on: January 03, 2019, 12:42:40 PM
@BestBitcoinCasino

I would if you didn't have to sign up in order to vote.
Seems like a good ploy to get new members to be honest.
1005  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: New Online War Game - abempire.co on: January 03, 2019, 12:17:50 PM
Yeah, after looking at the screenshots, I'm not really convinced.
I do get that it's still a work in progress, but I'd be annoyed too much at the current design.

I also really don't like to turn off my adblocker, since it partially protects against malware as well.

Look, if your game is actually good, I wouldn't mind paying a small fee to play.
Even charging something like 0.0002 BTC would probably bring in more than ads.
1006  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I've just put ALL my student savings into TURTLECOIN ($50K) on: January 03, 2019, 12:06:15 PM
I think you invested in some worthless coin and lose your money. Perhaps I am mistaken but without careful analysis of the growth prospects it is dangerous to invest.

At least go look at the price before you reply.
OP actually made profit with his investment and Turtlecoin actually has some decent volume, so he would be able to sell his coins for profit as well.

Now, I would have expected this to go very very wrong, but to see that it didn't was quite a surprise.
1007  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I wonder - are there ppl here who bought BTC when it was 19k ? on: January 03, 2019, 11:43:25 AM
I remember buying some BTC when Bitcoin was at its highest, but that doesn't say much.
I've been buying Bitcoin almost every week, since around 2013, so naturally I also buy when the price is high.

When I buy Bitcoin, it's not just for holding it, I also use part of it.
Whenever I buy food online, I pay with Bitcoin and I used to be able to buy call credit with Bitcoin, but they removed that option.
1008  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: bitcoincheaters.com is NOW online on: January 03, 2019, 11:33:27 AM
Never thought I'd say this, but I agree with @KingScorpio

Your forum name really sucks. Sounds like it's a forum where scammers meet or something like that.
Possible one of the worst names for a Bitcoin forum I could imagine.

The word cheaters doesn't have anything to do with what the forum is about...
1009  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The VAR - Video Assistant Referee Discussion Thread on: January 03, 2019, 11:07:34 AM
In general, I'm glad that they're using the VAR for more and more games and I think they should have used it sooner rather than later.
Okay, sometimes it does mess up the flow of a game, as @Naida_BR points out, but further discussion isn't possible when you include the VAR.

I personally don't see why you could be against the VAR, I mean human judgment comes with quite a lot of error.

Remember the game between Belgium and Brazil in the World Cup?

Here Brazil wanted a penalty, because Kompany had touched Jesus, but after review with VAR, it was decided that contact had not been significant enough to cause the fall.
Agree or disagree?

If you remember that game, you know that Brazil tried everything to get penalties, their entire team was so focused on diving.

Got this scenario from here:
http://www.espn.co.uk/soccer/fifa-world-cup/4/blog/post/3533707/var-at-the-world-cup-a-timeline-of-the-tournament

There are a lot more examples on there.
1010  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: God of winning be with all the gamblers in 2019. on: January 02, 2019, 05:36:12 PM
Praying won't save you from losing.
I mean, I respect people who believe in God, but then applying prayer to gambling is just a bridge too far.

In the end you'll have people who think that by praying just a little bit more, they'll turn their losses into profit.
And they keep on gambling...

Perfect way to get addicted.

Sometimes I'm very happy that I'm an atheist Tongue
1011  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: New Online War Game - abempire.co on: January 02, 2019, 05:09:44 PM
Are there any sort of gameplay videos available or even screenshots?
I really don't want to register when I have no idea if this is something that I'd actually play.

Can't even load the website without disabling my adblocker and it looks kinda weird on Firefox.
1012  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin-Fund-Manager.com. NOT A SCAM. Personal Experience on: January 02, 2019, 11:27:00 AM
OP, having a few newbie accounts replying to this thread isn't going to make anyone believe that it isn't a scam.

And for the love of God, haven't you heard of paragraphs? @GVD
Now it just looks like you're on meth and typing a bad short story.
1013  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Multi Billion Dollar Business Plan In Nigeria - Angel Investor Needed on: January 02, 2019, 10:54:41 AM
Total Investor's Equity - 80%

I can arrange a meeting here in Nigeria

So you're giving away a whopping 80% equity to investors? Seems too good to be true.
Also, you want to actually meet up with investors in Nigeria? I don't know, but that seems awfully risky, considering you've basically given almost no other information.

What do you yourself bring to the table here? Why seek investments in a Bitcoin forum? Why don't you get a loan from the bank?
1014  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambler was being robbed on: January 01, 2019, 02:35:11 PM
Why do casinos give such large winnings in cash?
There should really be an option to have that sort of money deposited straight to your bank account.

I imagine it could happen in my country (Belgium) as well, but not nearly as often though.
It's generally pretty safe here, aside from petty crime.
1015  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are your favorite crypto Youtube channels? on: January 01, 2019, 02:15:17 PM
I used to be a pretty big fan of The Cryptoverse by Chris Coney, but at some point he switched almost all of his content to only feature EOS and I stopped watching.
I don't think I've watched any of his videos in the past couple of months or so.

Crypto Tonight is pretty good though, but I don't watch too much cryptocurrency videos in general.
1016  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Australian Crypto Company Rapped for Paying Bounty Hunters for Glowing Reviews on: January 01, 2019, 12:08:10 PM
Sorry if this is really obvious, but what's the difference with all the other ICOs who give out bounties?
I've never actually looked into earning bounties, but I thought that this was pretty much standard practice.

Aren't there many projects that give out bounties for writing positive articles etc?
1017  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Crypto Social Journalism - CoinScribble on: December 31, 2018, 11:15:20 AM
Thanks, will reach out if I need to clear up something.
Will probably post the article next week or so Smiley

Quoting the reply, in case it's edited:

While Bitcoin is certainly the biggest player in the cryptocurrency world due to its bigger fan base and developed infrastructure, it is not the only competitor. Over 500 other cryptocurrencies exist, many of which are considered to be potential challengers to the Bitcoin’s supremacy.
All cryptocurrencies share certain common features: they were created to provide anonymity, enhance speedy transactions, and to provide a larger stock base. However, they also exhibit certain distinct differences. For gamblers who are still undecided on the best cryptocurrency to use, here is a brief comparison between Bitcoins and Altcoins:

Superior Currency
From a wider perspective, none of the Altcoins would have been known without Bitcoins. Basically, all cryptocurrencies—Litecoin, Ripple, Etherum, I/O coin, Dogecoin, and Bitshares among others—are based on peer-to-peer network visualized by Bitcoin’s founder, Satoshi Nakamoto—a decentralized network that’s impossible to trace by banks and other financial authorities. However, in terms currency supremacy, Bitcoin has always been on top—it’s US$600 more worth than its closest competitor, Etherum

Security
When it comes to financial security, Bitcoin still carries the day. Altcoins can easily be manipulated by big players in the market by purchasing large amounts of a given cryptocurrency and inflating its price before crashing its market. On the long run, the value of the target cryptocurrency drops dramatically and may fail to recover.

Unique Features
Despite the strong features that Bitcoins boast of, Altcoins are also uniquely endowed with certain features which can come in handy, especially for gamblers. To begin with, Litecoin, one of the popular Altcoins can be generated in blocks of 2.5 minutes compared to 10 minutes wait time for Bitcoin. Besides currency, Altcoins also incorporate a wide range of assets and built-in exchange that enhances easier trading of the assets against one another.
Moreover, Altcoins provide greater opportunities for gamblers and other entrepreneurs who swim in the wild waters of virtual currency. Through Altcoins, they can create millions over night considering that the growth of the numerous assets can hit an inconceivable rate.

Bottom Line
So which cryptocurrency is the best? And will Altcoins ever overtake Bitcoins? Although the first question is based on one’s preferences and other obvious factors, the latter remains a million dollar question.
What gives Bitcoin its value, whatever that value is at the moment, is that people believe it has value. If enough people agree on an altcoin that they like better, Bitcoin could be abandoned. But for me, I’m sticking with bitcoin based casino like VegasCasino.io (My personal favorite casino) for superior currency .

@s0lidus

Good to know, I probably won't be in any trouble then if I manage to withdraw like once a month while doing that and just keep depositing in the meantime.
Might message support about it, just to be on the safe side.

Thanks!
1020  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Talk with Vitalik] Does ETH need transaction fee? on: December 28, 2018, 03:44:59 PM
Pretty interesting actually, I had no idea that you'd have to pay that much to become a block producer on EOS.
I've been largely ignoring most of the news regarding EOS, just because it's not a coin that I'm interested in.

I do think Vitalik is right, if the transaction costs are negligible, than no-one would bat an eye at those.

Quick question for you, why are you so interested in EOS?
Doesn't it bother you that block producers can basically reverse transactions?
