1001  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A advise to my friend about his decision on: August 06, 2023, 09:44:41 PM
Many people lack basic knowledge of bitcoins.
I became interested in this topic when I learned that a friend of mine was so ignorant of bitcoin that he recently received bitcoins from his father, but he had no idea what to do with them. As a result, he tried to reject the inheritance and was spared from having to argue with the lawyer who was reading the deceased father's will, which was being read aloud. Why wouldn't someone, he insisted, give him some houses and perhaps some cash so he could launch a new business?

But while his father decided to give him bitcoins, my friend was furious and even left the house because he believed his late father had given him some money out of hate for him. When my friend came to my house to tell me the story, I encouraged him to collect the coins and learn more about bitcoins, and he was furious to listen to me until I started the show and started explaining it to him. At that point, he was happy and walked back.

First time to heard this kind of story, I mean I just wondering why the son didn't know that his father was into bitcoin or crypto? are they not close? So it's very uncanny to me that the son was at lost regarding the inheritance, unless they are strange or not that close.

But I guess he can't do anything about the bitcoins that he got, not sure how big it is, and we don't know what advise you give your friend. Whether to hold on if for a long term or at least wait for the next bull run or sell it right away.
Probably his father was a silent bitcoiner, that even his own family is not aware that he’s been owning bitcoin for a long time. However, just advise your friend to gain research on bitcoin so he will know it’s real value and he’ll be aware on how to make it grow if ever he’s thinking to keep it. Otherwise, if he’ll sell it immediately, he might gain instant money but he will also lost the opportunity to be a future millionaire because of bitcoin.
1002  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Did Bitcoin Bring a Smile to Your Face? How Did You Make It Happen? on: August 06, 2023, 06:45:47 PM
I'm new to Bitcoin and the Bitcoin forum, but my curiosity is overflowing. I've come across numerous articles and blogs that share exciting testimonies of how Bitcoin has transformed lives, inspiring some individuals to even quit their jobs. It's heartwarming to imagine the joy on their faces. I'd love for all of us to share our happiest moments when Bitcoin brought a smile to our faces and the steps, we took to experience that happiness.
If there are positive and exciting testimonies about bitcoin, surely there are also a lot of negative declarations that will ruin the reputation of bitcoin. So it’s up to you how you’ll weigh things based on your own bitcoin experience. But personally on my part, bitcoin has made me discouraged at first but later on, when I decide to keep going on it, I’ve come to realized that there are better endings with bitcoin, and that makes bitcoin worth of our risk and efforts. Just took away your greed and being impatient, then you will experience the joy that bitcoin brings.
1003  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is AI in crypto a game-changer or just another hype? on: August 06, 2023, 06:04:55 PM
Game changer? I used to hear that a lot as a description but no way, these AI projects are not game changers. We're in a market that keeps on changing a lot every time a season dries off. And if something new comes out again, they'll say that it's another game changer and the cycle goes on until you'll get used to that term which will be used by more projects in the future. I am not even sure if there's going to be an end for these cycles because they just keep on coming and reinvents something new.
This cycle will continue and the Era where AI technology dominates will truly occur. Just look at how the implementation of Ai technology is in all fields of knowledge, especially in crypto, of course it will be a more modern future. The Ai project is not a game changer, but it is like a tool that will make crypto more powerful and can make it easier for users to carry out any activity. Everyone now seems to be familiar with Ai.
You’re on point mate. AI has inevitably improve more user’s confidence when trading because this AI has made trading easier by following these trading bots though I still think that they’re not proven reliable at some point. But instead of trading the traditional and the hard way, beginners have found it more comfortable to trade using AI but also with some caution in trading, and by letting them aware of the risks involved in it.
1004  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Anthony Joshua vs Dillian Whyte II on: August 06, 2023, 06:47:53 AM
Chisora for me is not a good replacement the guy is done it's going to be easy work for Joshua, why not proceed with the Wilder fight and make it a winner-take-all fight, whoever losses should retire, both fighters want a way up and both are highly motivated to remain on top, this is a money-making fight after all they are the hottest item 4 years ago.
I agree with your comment; cancel the fight and proceed to Wilder. Fans don't want to get robbed for the money they are paying, so promoters should provide a fight that is worth watching. I read before that Wilder vs AJ is the undercard for Fury vs Usyk. Maybe they just have to wait for the moment to happen. Right now, they have to finalize the contract and just start training. I'm sure the fight is going to happen within this year, right?
1005  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - July 29 on: August 06, 2023, 06:13:00 AM
Anyway, back to the discussion, Spence is already looking forward to contest the fight at 154 and so that is already safe to assume because he also said earlier this week that 147 lbs. division is not working for him anymore.

Good for him, but unfortunately, he might be able to face Crawford again, as the latter is also thinking of moving. So even if Spence will not activate that rematch, both are still going to face each other eventually if they beat the champions in that heavier division. Might as well, Spence would think smart. I mean, activating a rematch will guarantee money, and he just has to be confident he'll be able to even the rivalry between Crawford.
1006  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you rather start/grow a business from scratch or buy an existing business? on: August 05, 2023, 09:30:51 PM
I don't really have much to say as regards to this post. It is just an avenue to hear your thoughts on which is better to invest both time, energy and resources in, mostly for a season as this, where we are experiencing economic uncertainty and ill-timed government banking policies.

So, given that the resources are available or not and you are presented with the opportunity to start/grow or buy an existing business just like Elon Musk, which option is more preferential and benefitial to you?

It depends. If the existing business has already established its name to the people and is gaining huge demand from its consumers, then I would say buying it is certainly worthy. But still you have to be ready to handle a business, which means you need to be highly knowledgeable on the business so that you can also contribute to its continued growth. However, if you have doubts on the existing business if it will continue to prosper or not, then it’s better to start from the scratch. Have your own business that is align with your passion and skills, so that you’ll be able to manage it properly with the help of your supporting staff.
1007  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2024 will determined bitcoin fate on: August 05, 2023, 08:54:36 PM
Many expectations of bitcoin this year failed, but I notice that bitcoin always breakout into a new price after interval of five years, the last massive explosion of price was between 2017-2018 and since then, bitcoin has not record major price increase. Now if you calculate from 2018 to 2023 that's about 5 years though because of policy of economic inflation and influence the price has not gain its actual strength to break resistance limits and if the remaining quarter of the year fails even more, then we should expect 2024 to 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 fire. We should start to make plans for 2024 more buys more gains.
None of us can still hold guarantees if bitcoin’s fate will completely happen by 2024. Yes, bitcoin halving is coming but it’s effect is not felt immediately. Trading back history, the crypto prices will only gain its bullish effect several months after halving so if it will appear by the last quarter next year, then perhaps we will feel its effect by 2025. So just prepare for now, and always invest what you can only afford to lose, so that you won’t pressure yourself selling for profits when the market isn’t completely bullish yet.
1008  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: August 05, 2023, 08:12:26 AM
They need to negotiate and not just to accept that low baller, even Inoue will bring the most of the sale but the point that
Tapales is also a Champion/title holder should be consider in terms of the offers.
That's true. People will come over and watch for Inoue for this challenger despite we want to cheer Tapales on this one but we need to know how low balled they were.

With this news, it will open up an opportunity for Casimero to fight Inoue. I'm sure the former would be willing to negotiate, even if he gets a smaller share, as long as he can prove to the world that he could really beat Inoue. In the first place, Marlon Tapales wasn't in the conversation years back; it was always Casimero who shadowed Inoue. So, it doesn't matter as the fans will still watch the fight if Inoue allows Casimero to challenge him.

Or here's another scenario: If Inoue really wants a champion, then maybe Casimero will challenge Tapales. If he beats the champion, then I'm sure Inoue will be more interested in the undisputed fight.

I would love to see if these scenarios will come into the picture,

If Tapales will decline that said offer and Inoue will be open to another challenger, maybe the chance to see Casimero will
take place, and knowing how these two fighters have that unfinished rivalry way back from their lower divisions, maybe now
they will be able to conclude who's much better between them. Only if this option will be activated with Inoue's camp.

They said that Inoue will stay for a while and will fight the challengers, so that would only mean that Casimero will be entertained. The timing is good; it's an opportunity for Inoue and Casimero to prove who the better fighter is. And of course, as the champion, Inoue would want to clear the doubts of the fans that he is ducking Casimero, so he'll probably give him that opportunity one day. Let's be optimistic.
1009  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - July 29 on: August 05, 2023, 07:50:47 AM
I'm sure Spence's career is not over yet; he can still fight, so let's wait for his next move. If I were to be asked, I would like him to move up and forget his losses to Crawford. A new weight class means new challenges for him, and I think he will be more comfortable in a heavier division.

It's not yet too late for him to get a fresh start and not yet his time to start considering for a retirement, it's just a single loss and almost every boxer goes through that trouble. And just like how others describe this scenario, it's not about the loss, it's about how would they figure out the things to keep moving after such loss.

And as for Crawford, it's okay for him to fight Spence in a rematch that will be contested at 154 because either way, he will move up towards that division. It will be a win-win scenario because he doesn't have any belts to lose in that division.
That would probably shut Spence up if he still makes excuses and thinks he is more comfortable at 154. However, if Spence still loses, that would make him look bad to the fans, as it's hard to come back after multiple losses. He is probably like AJ, who lost twice against Usyk, and he isn't as popular as he was before.

Anyways, if Spence would want to ensure a good amount of money to be made, a rematch is always the answer since both of them are very popular now. It's an opportunity to easily market the fight. Both moving up would be good, as even if Spence loses, he can still fight other boxers in the same division until he figures out how to start winning.

However, I'm afraid that he will just be next to Crawford, as for sure, Crawford will dominate.

And witht this news, Jermell Charlo to be stripped of WBO title after fight with Canelo Alvarez, Tim Tszyu will be elevated, the competition would be easy for Crawford and Spence.
1010  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 18, holding my bitcoin and looking forward :) on: August 04, 2023, 09:42:15 PM
I’m actually impress on your vision for bitcoin. At a young age, you have achieved your initial goal and with your way of thinking, your perspective in life, I know if you continue what you have started, bitcoin investment will enter disappoint you. Just never turn to greed and impatience, that is my only advice so you will last longer in a volatile investment like bitcoin.
1011  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - July 29 on: August 04, 2023, 01:27:54 PM

And perhaps it was really due to the big money in the table for the two of them that they can't resists.

Very interesting as well to note that two of the biggest fight for this year comes from PBC.

The hype they created had really made the fight more profitable. That particular fight was rumored many times before it finally happened, so when it became official, people were happy, and they eagerly booked the fight. The revenue was good, but the fight was supposed to be a close one, so they would make the fans want to see more, like a rematch. Unfortunately for Spence, he looked unprepared during the fight as his game plan didn't work against a faster and probably stronger Crawford.

That's one of the reasons, but even if they didn't hype the fight that much, people would still watch it since it's an undisputed fight, and the winner will make history. It was a success, although it's not the biggest in terms of revenue (gate entrance and PPV), because the fans who watched were satisfied.

Usually, when the favorite to win actually wins the fight, that also makes the majority of the fans happy.

I'm sure Spence's career is not over yet; he can still fight, so let's wait for his next move. If I were to be asked, I would like him to move up and forget his losses to Crawford. A new weight class means new challenges for him, and I think he will be more comfortable in a heavier division.
1012  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 - Betting and Discussions on: August 04, 2023, 04:06:45 AM
Even the NBA knows that they are sending inexperience players in the FIBA world cup 2023.

We can read this interesting article below from their website.

https://www.nba.com/news/usa-basketball-roster-2023-fiba-world-cup

Quote
The 2019 team had Harrison Barnes (2016 Olympics) and Mason Plumlee (2014 World Cup). And every other U.S. team comprised of NBA players also had at least two guys with Senior-Team experience. Even the first team of NBA players (1992 Dream Team) had five – Patrick Ewing (1984 Olympics), Michael Jordan (’84), Christian Laettner (1990 World Championship), Chris Mullin (’84) and David Robinson (1986 World Championship and 1988 Olympics) – who had played on the Senior level previously.

Every member of the 2023 team will be playing in his first Senior-level international tournament. It’s different than anything else they’ve ever experienced, especially when it comes to the single-elimination, knockout round.

However, despite that, they are still the number 1 favorite to win. I'm thinking, aren't the bookies just making them overvalued as they know the bettors will bite on the odds? When we talk about "Team USA," it's a popular team and they have more gold compared to other teams. This popularity might influence the odds and make them seem more favorable than they actually are.
1013  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do wager affect outcomes in any provably fair games on: August 04, 2023, 03:35:16 AM
No, the outcome has nothing to do with your wager or how long you play. They are absolutely random; you can try employing techniques or patterns, but the results will always be random. Well, I can't blame or prevent anyone from believing that a specific instance could influence the outcome because I'm guilty of thinking the same way occasionally or most of the time, possibly due to emotions.
When we are new to gambling and have not matured yet, we might think that our experience will lead us to a consistent outcome. Unfortunately, it does not work that way, as every game has its own house edge, which always favors the house. We might win sometimes, but if we continue and consider it a long-term activity, I'm pretty sure we will all end up losing money.

Some might boast because they are winning in gambling, but no gamblers consistently win, especially in games that have a house edge. There might be exceptions for skill-based games like sports betting or card games, particularly poker.

In the end, we will realize that it's better to carefully study the game and our chances to have a realistic approach.
1014  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Borrow to Buy Bitcoin is Not Advisable.Consider the Factors Before Doing That. on: August 03, 2023, 09:50:56 PM
In all risky investments, borrowing your capital is obviously the worst option. Some may have profited from it but a lot are actually losing in the end from doing it. That is why borrowing or taking a loan is a big NO especially that you are still starting to learn to invest and you could experience more losses at first than expecting instant gains. So buy at your own risk using your spare money, not from the money of other people.
1015  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do wager affect outcomes in any provably fair games on: August 02, 2023, 02:17:43 PM
I noticed that when I start to play games like keno, limbo, dice, etc. First some bets don't hit and after wagering some percentage of my balance it starts to hit,
How it works? like when we wager we have more probability to hit win, anyone noticed this? Do you know how it works and what is the calculation behind it?, do server sends outcomes by checking our wager?

That's a false assumption. What you experience in a short period of time does not mean it will happen consistently. It's essential to be realistic and stick with the principle behind the house edge. All provably fair games have a house edge, and regardless of the percentage of the house edge, it still favors the casino in the long run. As gamblers, the more we gamble, the more our chances of winning will reduce, especially if we aim to earn consistently, as that would only lead us to gamble more.
1016  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 02, 2023, 01:40:56 PM
I just saw that Doc Rivers is working for ESPN now.  Grin

Guess teams have finally realized that he is not the coach you need if you want to win. His resume in the playoffs over the past years is so weak, no wonder nobody wanted to sign him, even when there were 4 or so vacant coaching positions available after last season.

Once you start working for a tv network, your career almost always is over.

Lol, yeah perhaps his last great coaching stint is with the Boston Celtics. But after that, he might be a overrated coach. As he didn't replicate that success in any other teams. On the contrary, the teams that he lead choke during playoffs,  Grin

But Doc Rivers doesn't have the voice to be a announcer? He has somewhat like a husky voice to me and it's not good to the hear. Not bashing this dude, but they should have not let go of Mark Jackson, in my opinion.  We gonna missed, "mama there goes that man".

Good for him, he's lucky to have found work after getting fired from his coaching job. I don't think he will be able to come back as a coach again, considering he has already coached many teams without much success. He may only be remembered for his time with the Boston Celtics, as the teams he coached after that never reached the NBA Finals.

Nevertheless, I'd like to congratulate him. As a worker at ESPN, I believe he may not be earning the same amount of money he made as a coach, but it's still a decent income, and he can continue to enjoy his passion.
1017  Economy / Economics / Re: Things you should know about Money mindset on: July 31, 2023, 08:18:34 PM
While I would agree with the large monetization potential on the Internet as a content creator. It takes years for you to even earn something of value in this field. Let alone the amount of effort that it takes to flush out creative and relevant, even harder if you're going for informative content is more than enough to scare a few people away. If you choose to be a content creator on the Internet, do it out of passion and not just because you want money because if you keep chasing the money without proper motivation, you'd find yourself demotivated when you don't earn as much as you would expect.
True. Money is not earned instantly with content creators, it’s their hardwork and passion that have paid off and get what they deserve. And when they start bargaining their salary amount, it’s not actually to brag so that everyone will aspire to become content creator, but because it’s for us to inspire that if we’ll only work hard and persevere, and keep motivated doing our passion and giving entertainment to the people, in the end everything we desire will be given. But of course, it takes years to process, and that everything we see in the internet is not just all about wealth and riches, but determination and being goal driven for years.
1018  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How is your DCA solution? on: July 31, 2023, 03:43:25 PM
I'll tell you a little story here, I have been doing DCA for a long time and hope to continue because I always set aside every week or month to buy BTC.

I buy Bitcoin from Binance exchange and some other exchanges but the withdrawal is quite expensive, at the moment but what I often use is Binance exchange which I think is the highest exchange and with its reputation.

My DCA is not big at most per week $15/$20 sometimes once a month $50, I store on the exchange until the estimated $100 when it is reached I withdraw it to a private wallet for security because I don't want to store all assets on parties when like exchanges, therefore I am a little burdened by high fees when withdrawing - for example on Binance bitcoin withdrawal is 0.0005BTC or ($14) that money is quite meaningful to me if you think about it.

I just a little advice where to buy bitcoin with minimal withdrawal such as I buy bitcoin $20 and withdrawal fee $1, it's not heavy for me if the fee is still $1.

 Smiley
If the current transaction fee is giving you a burden, then adjust your DCA method. Instead of buying weekly or monthly, try to purchase twice or thrice a year but continue to save for your extra funds. Or better yet, timing your transaction during off-peak hours because when there are less transactions, it’s withdrawal fee also decreases. But if you want to completely get rid of high transaction or withdrawal fees, use a decentralized exchange instead. Centralized exchanges are never worthy of your bitcoin purchase and even its storage.
1019  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't expect everyone to embrace Bitcoin on: July 31, 2023, 02:39:12 PM
There's the saying that you can only force the horse to the stream but can't force it to drink water..the more you keep convincing someone of the good of Bitcoin and he's not buying your words, you can be upset and this might lead the person to think it's a scam project.
When you understand that not everyone is supposed to embrace the idea of Bitcoin, it then means you are mature enough to respect their decision.

There's always going to be conflict of interest and therefore while there are some who outrightly disgust it, some are on the fence because it's like they are weighing which has more value than the other..

You’re on point mate. We can’t force everyone to embrace bitcoin simply because it will be our future. Know that when it comes to bitcoin, some will highly think about it as a scheme rather than seeing it as a pure investment that has great potentials. And we can’t blame them if they’ll think it that way because a lot of times bitcoin has been indirectly involved in different scams. However, I guess if majority of the government will start to side bitcoin which I think is hardly possible these days, then people will eventually change their negative mindset about bitcoin and will start to consider it as a reliable currency aside from being a valuable investment.
1020  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 31, 2023, 10:44:06 AM

I also agree about the Nuggets. They were looking too good and I don't think anybody can be as good as them right now.

It's too early to conclude; remember that only a few teams have won back-to-back championships, so there's no guarantee that the Nuggets will be able to repeat next season. The Nuggets have also changed their roster, although they still have the starting 5 intact, some key players have already left and signed better contracts with other teams.

In terms of talent, the competition is very tight; it only differs in chemistry and injury problems. Some teams have outstanding performances in the regular season but struggle in the playoffs due to injury issues. The Nuggets were lucky last season to have a healthy Murray; without him, I doubt they would have won.

Let's hope that we won't be seeing a lot of injuries next season so we can enjoy a very competitive season.

If you were to ask me which team I'd bet on to win the championship, I wouldn't choose the Nuggets; it's probably the Warriors or the Bucks.
