1021  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Educating unemployed friends about Bitcoin on: May 28, 2023, 02:41:07 PM
I don't think that's a good idea. Unemployed people are easy targets for the casinos and even though bitcoin itself has nothing to do with gambling, these people may see it like a get rich quick scheme. If they think they'll get rich investing in bitcoin then they will make some wrong doings like investing in shitcoins, day trading etc. Because they will realize that bitcoin isn't risky enough and you need to take more risks to make more money. Since they have no jobs, they will take the maximum risk and that's a recipe for a disaster.

1024  Economy / Gambling / Re: Using ToS against users normal? on: May 27, 2023, 07:59:59 AM
If it was something like using multi acc, using VPN etc and it didn't caused any financial dmg then why seize the funds? It makes no sense. Some people use multi acc because they forget their old acc's password and create a new acc instead of trying to remember the pass of their old acc. Should the casino seize the money of this player? Of course no.
Sorry, but you are wrong. If a customer loses access to his account for whatever reason, then what he must do is to contact customer support and ask for them to help him recover his account or at least ask if it's OK to create a new account (alt) and abondon the first one. I took this example just to prove a point: if you break the ToS of any service then you are at fault regardless of your intentions.

You are technically right but we humans sometimes forget the things we don't really care about. I might lose the existence of my old casino account from 3 years ago for example. The casino will have the right to seize my funds just because I made another account by mistake? Is this what you are saying? The ToS says "don't use multiple accounts" but that don't give them the right to seize the funds of the player unless this act alone caused them any financial harm.
1025  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 51% attack on Bitcoin on: May 27, 2023, 07:56:26 AM
Hey guys,
As we know, as long as a majority of CPU power is controlled by nodes that are not cooperating to attack the network, Bitcoin network remains safe.
I was wondering what it would cost to control 51% of the mining hash rate? Is this ever a realistic threat?
Appreciate your answers in advance!
Kind regards,
Papa

It would take billions of dollars to accomplish that and in the end the attacker will get nothing because even if somehow succeeds with his attack, everybody will leave bitcoin and the attacker will control an empty network. It is not a good move financially. The attacker has a lot to lose and nothing to gain. That alone makes this potential attack a non-issue. BSV and their billionaire guy tried to attack BTC before and they failed. They quickly realized that they were hemorrhaging money for nothing.
1026  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: journey to financial freedom on: May 26, 2023, 07:19:06 PM
In January 2009 after the release of Bitcoin, the journey to financial freedom begun, i believe this is the right platform for me to learn more about bitcoin, though Bitcoin is 14 years old now, hope i'm not too late to join the bus?

It is never too late to join crypto train however... you must also be realistic with your expectations. I mean what do you mean with "financial freedom"? Do mean getting rich or do you mean being totally in control of your funds? These two phrases both mean "financial freedom" but in different ways.

You can become financially free the moment you have some bitcoins because no bank can take your funds from you. Will you get rich if you hold though? Nobody knows.
1027  Economy / Gambling / Re: Using ToS against users normal? on: May 26, 2023, 08:16:50 AM
If a user breaks ToS, then the casino should lock the user's account and let him withdraw his money.
If the gamblers deposited money is traced to criminal activities, the casino should let the gambler to withdraw his money?
If the gambler has been using multiple accounts to claim 100% bonus and referring himself. Won't that lead to argument in a way that the casino may not want to give the gambler back all his money and his accounts would be merged into one.

What if the gambler is gambling from a restricted country and he won huge amount of money. The casino gave him back his deposit but did not give him the money won. That is another scenario. But if he has lost the whole money, no money would be given him back.

Just follow the terms and conditions and do not violate it because there are some situations that the casino will not give back the customer money and not seeing as scam.

Did you read the rest of my post? I said if the player caused serious harm, then the casino should indeed seize the funds.
1028  Economy / Gambling / Re: Using ToS against users normal? on: May 26, 2023, 06:16:19 AM
Changing of terms and conditions without notifying the users or gamblers is normal with online gambling websites? Then when you did something wrong or about to withdraw your money they will tell you that you don't read their terms and conditions, and you start arguing with them until you decide to read the ToS again and you find out that it's different.

Some gambling websites consist of wicked owners that willingly plan to defraud their users using the ToS against them, or is this normal? Have such happened to anyone on this forum before?

If a user breaks ToS, then the casino should lock the user's account and let him withdraw his money. Most casinos do it that way but some of them don't even let the user withdraw his money and that's where it becomes a scammy behavior. If the user harmed the casino financially, I can understand that behavior since they have to make up for the damages he caused but if not, then this act is completely unnecessary. Some of those people don't even realize that it was against the ToS to use a VPN for example... you can't seize these people's money so easily.
1029  Economy / Economics / Re: Which stocks to buy? on: May 25, 2023, 03:58:03 PM
Apple seems like a good buy to me. Nvidia too. Nvidia especially made great returns after going heavy on the AI stuff. Apple will too follow this trend imo. AI is the next big thing and companies that come up with good products will be rewarded handsomely. (and their shareholders)

Other than that there are those bluechip companies like KO, J&J etc... they are boring but good investments. They won't make you rich overnight like Nvidia. Just don't buy meme stocks like GME and you will be fine.
1030  Economy / Gambling / Re: Help us to choose a bonus for a review campaign! on: May 24, 2023, 09:39:50 AM

HI ALL!

WE ARE THINKING TO START A REVIEW CAMPAIGN WITH JUICY REWARDS.
COMMENT ON THIS THREAD WITH A DESIRED BONUS YOU WOULD LIKE TO GET FOR YOUR PARTICIPATION.
WE WILL NEED 15 PARTICIPANTS. SPORTS AND CASINO BONUSES APPLY.
BE THE ONE WHO DETERMINE THE REWARD!

[img]https://i.postimg.cc/90MpjJX6/freebet-eur.jpg[/ig]

The reward should be bitcoins. I have recently joined a similar review campaign and they are paying bitcoins. You should do something similar. I mean you can give people some deposit bonus and similar crap but then you would force people to deposit money and nobody will do that probably. You are not going to attract any decent members that way. If you want to get quality reviews, you need to pay.
1031  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Nigerian Father Rejects Son's Gambling Win on: May 24, 2023, 07:56:44 AM
A boy won #38,000,000 ($82340.19) with just #400 ($0.87) and when the boy brought home his win, the biological father of the boy rejected the money because it was gotten from gambling. So that makes me to think how people look or see or think of gambling. Is gambling a bad thing to do? As for me gambling is not a bad something but the individual can be bad and also the way you present yourself in the society can also tell people about your personality.
[img]https://www.talkimg.com/images/2023/05/23/Screenshot_20230523-163446_1df76615b10f5eb4f.jpeg[/im
How do you see the father? Was he right by rejecting the son gambling win?

He should say "Have fun staying poor!" to his father.

Seriously, he needs to be happy with his son's winnings. Why are some people such party poopers? We all know gambling is a bad habit but this dude somehow got lucky and hit the jackpot. Ignoring that money will do no good to him especially if he can improve his lifestyle with that money.

I wish I had a son like him.
1032  Economy / Economics / Re: Will inflation in the world grow by 2023? on: May 23, 2023, 10:08:44 AM
Reading the morning summaries of the newspaper, I came across an article that, according to forecasts, inflation will not remain within the limits of the predicted non-percentages, but will increase and grow, thereby creating economic instability in the world. Do you think it is worth relying on the opinion of economic experts? There have not been any official statements from banks by country yet, but the dynamics show that inflation is growing along with the annual rate of banks. But now it is quite high in all countries, respectively, the rise in price and instability in the markets should be expected or a slight increase in inflation is possible, which will not affect the economy of the world?

What other chance they got other than printing more money? They tried to raise the interest rates and banks started to go bust. Now they see they can't do that anymore, they will go back what they do best. Printing. You might ask now, "but weren't they trying to stop the consequences of printing money?" and you are right, they were. They were. Since they can't stop the inflation, what else is left to do? Making it even greater.

A wise man once said: "If you can't beat them, join them."

Another one said: "Fight fire with fire."

These 2 wise men know what will happen next. It is hyperinflation.
1033  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: increased Youtube Gambling ads? on: May 22, 2023, 04:18:15 AM
Recession made youtube desperate. You know there are only a few recession-proof industries in the world. Gambling, sex industry, fast food… Since they know gamblers don’t really care if there is a recession or not, they are the best customers for their ads. If this keeps going, soon the whole world will become a one big online casino.  Everybody who lost their job during this recession will become a degenerate gambler.
1034  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do You Think Casinos Should Do Survey From Time To Time To Assess You. on: May 21, 2023, 08:14:19 PM
In light of two cases about casinos being charged for not stopping one player from playing past his betting threshold and from one demanding one casino to return his losses because of VPN issues.
Do you think casinos should implement a survey assessment from time to time to assess gamblers if they are comfortable spending more and if they are using VPN all the time even if they allow the use of VPN.
This is for the casinos to avoid issues in the future when players look for loopholes to regain their losses by charging them in court.

That's actually a very neat idea. People sometimes forget the rules of the casino they are playing in. The casino should warn the players from time to time so they won't do something they are going to regret. VPN usage is a great example.

Let's say you are a regular player at "casino A". You play there almost every day. One day somehow you can't access the website and you try a VPN service to see if the website is down for everybody or only in your country... for whatever reason, then you forgot to turn your VPN off and kept playing like that. It might look like an innocent mistake but the casino may use this mistake against you.

A warning every once is a while is a good idea to prevent these "mistakes" from happening.
1035  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Poker coming to stake.com in the near future ! on: May 21, 2023, 07:02:18 PM
It would be great if that happened. To be honest, finding a place to play poker using crypto is very difficult right now.

Really? I didn't realize that was a thing. I mean Poker is one of the most famous games in the gambling industry, how come they missed it till now? Maybe it is because I am not really into Poker that's why it surprised me that much. Anyway If that's the case then stake.com nailed it right in the head once again. We already know stake.com has a top quality reputation and I am sure they are not going to mess this one up. Poker players will be happy with these news without a doubt.

1037  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Gambling Operator Court Case on: May 20, 2023, 02:54:13 PM
A gambler made 163 bets in a day and the the casino said it acceptable. Because for some high-rolling gamblers, losing around one-third of a bankroll is considered acceptable.  This gambler is in court. He accuses the operator of failing to stop him,

ding! I stopped reading right there since I can already picture the rest of this story

"He accuses the operator of failing to stop him"

Lol wut? The operator don't have a responsibility like that. If he did that, then the player would have told him to stfu. That loser needs to grow up and learn to face the consequences of his own actions. If he somehow wins that trial (which he is not gonna), then all the casinos would go bankrupt. Every other loser like him will sue the casino to get back their fairly and squarely lost money.
1038  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Am I right about this or not on: May 20, 2023, 07:46:51 AM
Guys correct me if I am wrong, somebody ask me a question about what will happen to bitcoin miners after all available bitcoin have been mined and no more halving every four years, will miners go out of business? This is the question I was asked and I believe that miners are the reason why transactions are been processed, right? correct me if I am wrong though,  I believe that even after all the 21 million coins are mined, Bitcoin miners will still be here because they are the reason why transactions are going through or am I wrong?

Why bother with tomorrow's problems while you can live the moment? Like the other guy above me said, when that time comes it will be year 2140 or smth... Nearly 20 years... In 20 years lots of stuff may change. Maybe there will be some other crypto that's better than bitcoin... Who knows?

but I don't think we'll live that long.

See this guy? This guy gets it.

We don't even know if we will be alive by then.
1039  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin IS an asset. Do you think it's bad? on: May 20, 2023, 07:17:50 AM
Hello everyone.
Lately, I've been talking with a lot of people on this forum and before that, I really thought that most people here treat Bitcoin as a technology that gives us freedom and represents ideas of satoshi, but I realized that everyone I talked to treat it just like an asset to invest in.
I don't want to say that it's bad, it's just surprising me. I created a thread where I asked if people think that Bitcoin will become stable enough to become a new currency cos I thought it was the whole idea, but everyone was telling me that it will always fluctuate and it's just a method to earn money.
What do you guys think about that? Do you think it's okay that we as a community treat Bitcoin as an asset and not as a technology that should be used to give people freedom from the banks?
Personally, I think that Bitcoin is a great asset, but it's strange to think that crypto just becomes a new stock market where people follow hype and money, and not technology and progress.

Bitcoin goes flat, people hate it. Bitcoin become volatile, people hate it. Some people will complain no matter what. Bitcoin don't care. The network will work tomorrow just like it did yesterday. That's the most important thing that matters. You may get rich from bitcoin. Some people lost a great deal of money too. We don't usually hear about them.

You don't necessarily have to choose the investment play (otr the tech) over the other. You can always do both.

Lots of businesses accept bitcoin as a form of payment and some of them don't even hold any crypto. They immediately dump their coins for the USD. Can you say these people aren't using crypto or not benefiting from it?
1040  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Another one bites the dust? Pakistan will ban crypto and never legalize it on: May 20, 2023, 04:16:30 AM
So you think the IMF forced Pakistan to ban crypto… But I thought the IMF was a friend to crypto…  then I read this article and I came to my senses

https://www.imf.org/en/Blogs/Articles/2023/02/23/technology-behind-crypto-can-also-improve-payments-providing-a-public-good

Quote
Crypto assets have been more of a disappointment than a revolution for many users, and global bodies like the IMF and the Financial Stability Board urge tighter regulation.

…

Central bank role

Central bank digital currencies can help because of their dual nature as both a monetary instrument—a store of value and means of payment—but also as infrastructure essential to clear and settle transactions. Policy discussions have mostly focused on the first aspect, but we believe the second should receive just as much attention.

As a monetary instrument, CBDC provides safety; it alleviates counterparty risks and provides liquidity in payments. But as infrastructure, CBDC could bring interoperability and efficiency among private networks for digital money and even assets.

Payments could be made from one private money to another, through the CBDC ledger or platform. Money could be escrowed on the CBDC platform, then released when certain conditions are met, such as when a tokenized asset is received. And the CBDC platform could offer a basic programming language to ensure smart contracts are trusted and compatible with one another. That too will become a public good in tomorrow’s digital world.

…

Of course these fuckers will want to ban crypto. It is because they want to eliminate any competition. They are fine with stealing all the tech from these open-source projects and then they ban them. That’s now fair.
