1021  Other / Meta / Re: Application for a merit source on: June 28, 2018, 10:00:21 PM
A little bump from my side too for support of your application.
Now this topic have enough of good response generated.
Thank you very much. Seriously guys, thanks for all your support. It is very much appreciated from my end.
1022  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Overview of Bitcointalk Signature Anti-Spam Campaign Managers on: June 28, 2018, 09:48:26 PM
I am happy to announce that, the advertisement spot has been officially rented till 31st of July by irfan_pak10  Smiley If anyone wants to rent the space for the month of August shoot me a pm with your offer.

Also, like bL4nkcode said: We do not need the past work column. It makes the whole table annoying. All these details should be in the ANN thread and if a campaign manager does not have a ANN then they may possibly lose potential customer. It's their fault however, a customer always can contact using the contact details though. By the way, no offence to those who do not have an ANN  Smiley . It's a friendly feedback only. I am sure pugman has better things in mind if not the same.
I am still giving them time to create one, a few have told that they will be creating one in the near future, so I will wait for them.
Anyway the idea is to have all the icons black.
Hm... I figured it would be better to use the ones available on SMF as a default:

or

I like these more, thanks, I'll be using it.

Looks cool, will add it soon.
There's a lot of legendary campaign manager that has good review these past few months and now they have red mark all over due to an unsuccessful project, they should at least be strict on the next project they will take and explain things carefully to those bounty hunters who do not receive awards from certain projects.
Rank doesn't define whether a manager is good or bad. I am assuming you're talking about Wapinter/ aTriz/ Hua_hui or someother manager who screwed up?
there is too much attention is paid to the appearance of how it looks OP post. I'd like to see here some constructive criticism about campaign managers work. it is not possible that all they are doing their job perfectly even if we have a lot of spam on the forum.
It takes more constructive criticism, especially from high-ranking members.
This thread is NOT about having constructive criticism but to help the managers. I would love to hear criticisms about it, but in another thread. Right now, the only criticism I want to hear is, how the thread is portrayed, and whether or not few managers have to be added.
1023  Other / Meta / Re: Bounty Manager Account Banned on: June 28, 2018, 09:07:39 PM
I have seen users who participate in these activities getting banned and have seen threads that promote these sort of activities getting thrashed but never have I seen a manager getting banned for this. Maybe OP got banned for copy-pasting, I could be wrong,so only mods/admins can tell.
We will move forward with whatever your decision may be! We are simply looking for some answers so we can avoid making the same mistakes in the future.
If you're perma-banned, you can never come back, thus no future. You should refrain from posting from any other alts or people who you work "with".
1024  Other / Meta / Re: Is it possible to report mod to close thread? on: June 28, 2018, 08:19:25 PM
Seems I can't find but I'll ask: Is it possible to report moderator to close some threads instead of deleting?
Mods delete the threads which repeat the same thing again and again. They would lock the thread and not thrash it, if it has useful answers. Simple as that. It can take a while to get a response but I suppose that is how it works.
I will never, EVER forget this thread:  Any interest in cupcakes for bitcoin?

This was making me pull my hair out.  Look at the posts I made in the thread and you'll see.  It turned into idiots writing the same stupid suggestions over and over, not even realizing that the OP had long gone away.  This was in 2016, and I'm confident the problem started around the time of the first signature campaign.  Mods are pretty slow about locking topics, and it's good that they're not quick to shut things down, but damn....
If you visit Bitcoin Discussion now, you'll see much worse situation. Look at this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=448524.0
Bots are posting about airdrops, in a Service Discussion thread.
1025  Other / Meta / Re: [warning] Banned accounts can still send merit. on: June 28, 2018, 08:16:13 PM
Maybe there are 3 levels
Deleted account - where the account is cancelled and blocked.
Banned accounts - these could have temporary restrictions, but the member can still log in for activity
Restricted accounts - accounts where the member is not able to post for a period, but other activities are permitted.
Accounts can be nuked, it applies only for newbies if I am not mistaken.
And accounts can be banned and can be locked. I don't think all accounts can be deleted(by the mods), but theymos can. Tongue
1026  Other / Meta / Re: Lamborghini Member, what title is that? on: June 28, 2018, 02:20:41 PM
So how do you request theymos for a custom title or do you need a certain kind of trust in the forum in order to request and obtain one? Also do you need to pay a certain amount depending on the title you want? Because I also don't think that everyone can have that kind of privilege here in the forum.
You don't have to necessarily pay(?). You can ask him nicely or give a valid explanation for why you want to have a a custom title. The chances of getting a custom title are more when you're reputable and have contributed to the community.
1027  Other / Meta / Re: The newbie 'broken record' threads, and an idea. on: June 27, 2018, 11:12:53 PM
theymos suggested that he would only remove bounties as a last resort too but in my opinion that is the only way that we are going to stop this nonsense. We just have to let other forums deal with the bounties. We can still have altcoin discussion but just remove bounties.
That won't happen. Nor will theymos do it(because it is the last resort for some reason Wink) neither will the spam caused by bounties stop. They will move towards the services section, pay 1$ in bitcoin and the rest in tokens. Hell they can even pay in cents for all they care. Even if campaigns as a whole(signature and bounties) go down, airdrops would possibly stay(?). And not to forget giveaways and other stuff in games and rounds.
Bitcoin discussion and other boards are probably being neglected due to the workload being shifted to the altcoin boards
I don't think so. There are mods assigned to specific boards for a reason. Altcoin Board needs more mods, and the volunteers for that is - 0 so far(?).
1028  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Is blockchain.info to be trusted? on: June 27, 2018, 11:07:46 PM
They are known to be buggy as hell and do keep in mind that they are an online wallet. I don't use blockchain.info, but can tell you that a lot of users don't love using it. I see complaints about it too frequent. Better to stay off from it, and now that the domain change is occurring, you might want to be careful. You might also get phished because of that. All in all, blockchain.info is not the best choice, when you have better options like Core, Electrum, or even hardware wallets.
1029  Other / Meta / Re: Why my post is deleted by forum moderator in ann thread? on: June 27, 2018, 10:30:21 PM
I did not want to be a mod. You comment is not answering my question. It is not about ann. I can find you many many post in ann threads but not announcement and will you help me to delete them? OFC no so please keep your   unnecessary words for yourself.

With that attitude, good luck with going anywhere.
Posting about a scam accusation in an ANN thread is considered off-topic(theoretically).  Was the ANN thread self-moderated? Did you get this message:
Quote
A reply of yours, quoted below, was deleted by a Bitcoin Forum moderator. Posts are most frequently deleted because they are off-topic, though they can also be deleted for other reasons. In the future, please avoid posting things that need to be deleted.

Calm the fuck down and elaborate yourself. Undecided
1030  Other / Meta / Re: The newbie 'broken record' threads, and an idea. on: June 27, 2018, 10:23:48 PM
What i thought of was an idea where an Introductory section was implemented into the forum, whereby, if someone were to join the forum they would be pointed to this specific section and would be asked what they are joining for, what they hope to achieve, what can they bring to the table etc etc. Basically, a way to see if people are genuine or not and in a way-POLICE (politely) members prior to actually posting elsewhere.
Read what theymos said:
Limiting newbie participation is very harmful for a community. Newbie jail will never return: I consider the newbie-jail period to have been extremely damaging to the forum. When barriers to participation are too high, then the best people often just won't go to the trouble of joining, and the people who are willing to jump through the hoops are often people who aren't good for the community: people with nothing better to do, scammers, get-rick-quickers, etc. Having a permanent newbie jail policy would improve things a lot in the short-term, but would end up being a fatal poison to the community.

There needs to be more action taken by staff. More thread-locking. Despite their efforts, I still see many sections filled with a cacophony of bullshit, spewing dozens of pages of lusterless incoherence.
Not only thread locking, but thread thrashing. You can't find one good topic to post in and have legitimate discussions in, when you go to sections like Bitcoin Discussion, Trading Discussion and Altcoin Discussion. Not to forget the Economics and Off-topic board. I want to visit the off-topic board and have some fun but no, the spam is just too much.
1031  Other / Meta / Re: [TIPS] Forum Thread Sorting Guide - How to Display Newest Thread First on: June 27, 2018, 10:15:56 PM
Are there any bounties for translations?
The Pharmacist, please tell him your kind words Wink

Nice guide OP, I wanted to know more about this. I am going to merit you only for this, the rest are horrible.
1032  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Overview of Bitcointalk Signature Anti-Spam Campaign Managers on: June 27, 2018, 09:52:29 PM

I wanted that image, thanks. Grin
Here is how it looks:

Am I the only one who finds the telegram logo too bright?
I guess adding the word "Signature campaign" in the Past work  column is not necessary, it will only make the whole table wider once added and also since this thread is only for Signature campaign so its understandable. What do you think?
I will remove it.  Smiley
1033  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Overview of Bitcointalk Signature Anti-Spam Campaign Managers on: June 27, 2018, 02:36:16 PM
Thanks for the heads up! Yes I have managed campaigns in the past and have hold reasonable amount of money as escrow for the campaigns. However, I'm too busy these days to do campaign management stuff so I wouldn't like to be added on the list just yet.Anyway, thanks for your words of support.
Oh, it is alright. Lemme know when you pop back into campaign management.

So I added the images to the OP, and here is how it looks:

Should I go for it?
Campaign managers, those who don't have an ANN thread, please do create one. It is for your own benefit. Smiley
1034  Other / Meta / Re: Lamborghini Member, what title is that? on: June 26, 2018, 11:33:12 PM
Global moderators can display custom titles.
Are you sure on that? I read somewhere that hilariousandco said that he paid 1 BTC to theymos for the title, but I don't know if that was sarcasm or genuine. (Also, I think it was for the Gold Member title)

And I don't think donators can have custom titles. I referred here for that: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=38071.msg467464#msg467464
1035  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Overview of Bitcointalk Signature Anti-Spam Campaign Managers on: June 26, 2018, 11:19:34 PM
Might I suggest that instead of having the "ANN" column be either Here or N/A, you could have it replaced with full-block characters? (██)
*color optional.
If not, then perhaps bolding "Here" and/or making it all-caps can have it stand out more.
I think what user shahzadafzal suggested(via PM) would make a better look, I am talking about this:
Quote

Max Amount Held

I would just replace the telegram logo with the official one. But I am here for opinions. Which one is better? Smiley

1036  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Overview of Bitcointalk Signature Anti-Spam Campaign Managers on: June 26, 2018, 11:05:17 PM
What about Joel_Jatsen? I’m not sure if he still actively manages signature campaigns up to this day but I once participated in a campaign managed by him. He strongly advocates his policy for zero tolerance towards spamming. In one of his campaign rules, he has stated that he won’t count the posts that has redundantly repeated what has been said by the previous 100 replies so he really makes it a point that the participants do not spam. Also, I did not encounter any problems throughout the duration of the campaign and all payments were promptly made.
Hmm...  I think he is a good manager, I saw the campaign and the spreadsheet, looks decent enough for me. I would have to think about it, and I will mostly add him, unless someone convinces me to do otherwise with strong proof. I would also have to check if he is still into campaign management.  Smiley
1037  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Overview of Bitcointalk Signature Anti-Spam Campaign Managers on: June 26, 2018, 02:46:25 PM
Removed the amount escrowed column until the managers send me a signed message for verification purposes. And with the related proof, obviously.

Come on people, hire these managers to handle your signature campaigns. I am sure they would work out for the best keeping everybody in picture.
Advertisement space is for rent. PM me and start negotiating Smiley Do note that I won't advertise scams.
1038  Economy / Services / Re: A simple bitcoin Q/A. Learn new and interesting stuff about bitcoin. on: June 26, 2018, 02:01:12 PM
Alright, so in permissioned blockchain, data can be manipulated. So wouldn't it much riskier? I get that a few companies would want to use this permissioned blockchain, but in legal terms, companies are supoosed to leave their records public, that is a conflict.

Honestly, public blockchains are better than the permissioned blockchain, not that anything is wrong with it, but the possibility of data manipulation is a big no-go.

The replies are wonderful, great contributions guys.  Cheesy
1039  Other / Meta / Re: Application for a merit source on: June 26, 2018, 01:55:32 PM
Friendly bump (will be deleting after a new response) after seeing Welsh application. You both deserve to be.
Thanks man. Your support is much appreciated! Hope theymos wouldn't mind making me a merit source. Tongue
Bump. Up to the top you go!
If anyone wants to see my merit history, here's a link: http://loycevsbasement.privatedns.org/Merit/history/325061.html
1040  Other / Meta / Re: The Bitcointalk 10 BTC Donators - where are they now ? on: June 26, 2018, 01:53:45 PM
they are busy in blaming themselves to donate 10 BTC to this shit forum. and now crying for their  10 BTC lose. which if they kept with them they would get a huge profit today.
This shit forum is the same forum that you used abused to get a shitload of money. Sure blame the forum, its totally shit.  Undecided
