1021  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: June 15, 2017, 01:04:00 PM
Now they are playing Federer (almost 36 years old) and Haas (39 years old), a match between the 2 most experienced players in the ATP circuit!
Federer is preparing to try to win his 8th Wimbledon.
Federer lost to Haas Sad He had match point in the second set but failed to convert it . Haas is not a nobody in tennis , he is very experienced as you mentioned and really happy to see him win . Hope Federer comes back strong in Wimbledon .

This is Haas' fourth victory against Federer. So it is not totally unexpected. I think the result might have been different if it was a 5-setter.
Still, a setback for Federer's preparation for Wimbledon.
1022  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Street dumps vs Legacy dumps on: June 15, 2017, 12:56:18 PM
I've noticed a pattern in the price dumps, particularly for BTC.  If BTC drops but Dash volume doesn't soar proportionally, then it's some financial institute cashing out. But if BTC drop and DASH soars then it's a legacy bitcoiner cashing out and obscuring their trail.

Thoughts?

Dash volumes are 1/40th of BTC volumes. It is very unlikely that there is a correlation between BTC dump and Dash volumes.
There are many fishes in this pond.
1023  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Flippening? on: June 15, 2017, 12:54:08 PM
If theres really a Flippening, then why did the ETH traders run with their tails between their legs when the BTC whales started to dump? Shouldnt they be holding their ground and keep pumping ETH?

ETH traders will claim that BTC holders got jittery when ETH started going down.
Correlation is one thing, trying to prove causation is very difficult.
1024  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Zcash worth to invest in it? on: June 14, 2017, 04:07:11 PM
Bought some of this in Poloniex today thinking of an easy investment or short term investment and in just a matter of an hour the price of ZEC rised from 0.147BTC up to 0.157BTC, instead of selling what I bought an hour ago I'm thinking of holding it longer for more profits. I hope price will not go down in 24 hours and continue its upward trend.

There is no harm in booking profits. If you are not in for the long term, then you should try and book profits after rallies like this.
If you want to hold ZCash for the long term, then you don't have to worry and can afford to ride the ups and downs.
1025  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LEAP OF FAITH, Should I try it? on: June 14, 2017, 03:59:38 PM
I was thinking of putting a few hundred dollars down on one altcoin today such as monero or ethereum and wait for it to go up a little bit then when it shows it's going to go down I will put it all in another altcoin which shows a little bit of a spike and once that starts to look like it's going to go down do the same to another altcoin and repeat the process.

It's incredibly risky but I wanted to test it out and see what happens. Should I?

If you can afford to lose the few hundred dollars, you can do it. The problem is knowing when to stop. If you invest at the wrong time in an alt, you can get wiped out.
It is somewhat like parlay betting. You need to get a series of bets right, but the rewards can be great.
1026  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Retirement fund on: June 14, 2017, 03:53:52 PM
I thought I'd start collecting some coins as a retirement investment.
What do you think which coins would pay off as a long-term investment?
I mean that in a period of 10-20 years.
I started collecting Siacoin, Ripple and Lisk. Any potential there?
What do you think of that idea in general?

Pick up a smattering of coins. Small amounts should do, given that these alts will be dead or will grow multifold.
I would personally pick ZCash, Monero and may be BitBay.
1027  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin "Perfect Storm" Brewing for Summer 2020? on: June 14, 2017, 03:49:30 PM
I think it is too early to predict anything about 2020. IMO this is very speculative. A LOT of things can happen between now and then which can totally change the crypto ecosystem.

I agree. Failure to resolve the scaling debate is one of them.
The entire system could just get clogged up and grind to a halt. No point in talking about the Olympics then.
1028  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Due To Popular Demand" Goldman Starts Covering Bitcoin. on: June 13, 2017, 04:36:34 PM
Goldman predicted $200/barrel of crude during the bull run. I wonder what they will say about Bitcoin.
We could see 6 digit predictions soon.  Grin
1029  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where to invest my 20 BTC (lifesavings) on: June 13, 2017, 04:28:34 PM
Hey , I have bought 20.3~ Btc when it was 430USD . Now when price jumped high i would like to invest in something .
I dont want something very risky with high profit ,
I wanna invest in something with 2-2.5% monthly profit .

For example : If i invest 20 BTC , in one month ill have 20.4 BTC ( 20BTC + 2% = 20.4)

For one who give me idea or help me ill pay some btc for being helpful and good Smiley

Best regards

If you have 20 BTC, that is a sizable amount of money. You might want to consider holding it and cashing out when the price increases.
If you don't want to take risk, you can consider options like Joinmarket -https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=919116.0
1030  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many bitcoinds do you think there will be at the end of the year? on: June 11, 2017, 08:14:02 AM
How many bitcoinds do you think there will be at the end of the year?

Even if there is a fork, I don't see the weaker alt surviving till the end of the year.  Wink
So I guess, there will be just one Bitcoin at the end of the year. And ~17 million bitcoins.
1031  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How long is a long-term hodl? on: June 11, 2017, 08:09:13 AM
Assuming that, nowadays, BTC's hodl could be as long as 5 or even 10 years from now.
How long is a long time hodl in alt-coins?
For example, if I'm looking to hodl ARK/STRAT/XMR, what is the right time-frame? is it just for a few months to a 1 year, or can I leave them for 5 years with the hope of weathering the storms and coming out strong?
And besides, do these kind of coins have a 5-10 year lifespan?

Nothing more than a year. I don't think you want to leave your stash idle for periods longer than that.
I would be especially nervous about the current rally. You never know when the market will turn.
1032  Economy / Speculation / Re: how long till cryptos hit $200 billion? predictions! on: June 11, 2017, 08:04:11 AM
So we hit $100 billion cryptocurrency market cap the past few days. How long do you think it will take to reach $200 billion? 6 months? a year? longer?

And how long do you think it will take the two main cryptos, bitcoin and ethereum to hit $100 billion market cap each?

Personally I think we'll see the $200 billion mark passed right around the end of this year, with Bitcoin and Ethereum both passing $100 billion by March 2018. Ethereum I think will catch up to Bitcoin right around the $100 billion mark.

I think we should get there by early 2018. If we do get there, Bitcoin  has to provide the boost. I don't think the journey to $200 Bn will be driven by alts. If the scaling debate gets resolved, the overall market cap should get close to $200 Bn.
1033  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: June 11, 2017, 08:02:38 AM
I sure want Stan Wawrinka to rise the trophy this time.
But it will be a daunting task for him to overcome Nadal's style of playing especially on clay.
His is the favorite to win it but then again..
so was Halep.
And look what happened there. Roll Eyes

Stan Wawrinka's shot making style is spectacular, to say the least. But there is something special between Nadal and clay.
If I am forced to pick a winner, I would still pick Nadal in this one.
1034  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Europa League/Champions League Lounge on: June 04, 2017, 02:12:13 AM
I expected to see Real Madrid to win, but didn't expect this goal fest.
With the scores tied at half time, there was no clue about what was to happen in the second half. Real were practically unstoppable, scoring 3 goals to take the final tally to 4-1. Real showed their true class and retained the trophy.
1035  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ BAT ] Basic Attention Token The AD Revolution on: June 04, 2017, 02:08:59 AM
It has been hugely oversubscribed. The token sale raised $35 million in less than 30 seconds.
Shows that liquidity is not a problem in the altcoin market.  Grin
1036  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: June 04, 2017, 02:06:17 AM
Rewatching the first set of the murray vs del porto game and it was clearly out for the first set going to murray.
So I don't know why he was so distrough about it.
Just accept it and move on to try to win the rest of the matches.
I do think he is just giving up on himself way to early.
He does have the strong forehand in all of tennis even with the multiple wrist surgeries he had to endure.
Just sad to see him that way after the first set was said and done with going in murray's favor. Embarrassed

Del Potro gave a good account of himself in the first set. The crowd seemed very impressed by his strong forehand shots. But once Murray leveled and managed to win the first set, things eased out for him. In the end, everybody will remember that it was a straight sets victory.
1037  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: June 03, 2017, 04:25:48 AM
Novak does not look as good as I thought he will. 5 set match on weather like this isn`t necessary at all. But this arguing with referee is going to turn match on his side I am sure about that. And what to say about Nadal today... Full of confidence, sharp as a razor... I think that I saw that he apologize to Basilashvili when they finished the match... but he need to be 100 in focus if he wants to win this tournament. I would like to see that semi-finale Nadal-DJokovic.

Djokovic actually would have been shaken in this match. To trail 2 sets to 1 and then fight back to win the match isn't easy.
His opponent wasn't especially strong - unseeded Diego Schwartzman. And on top of that he got into an argument with the referee as well.
1038  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Europa League/Champions League Lounge on: June 03, 2017, 04:13:19 AM
I think a great attacking team usually finds a way to defeat a great defensive team so for that reason I am pretty sure Real Madrid will be crowned champions of Europe again at Juventus expense.

I think Juventus is not going full defensive on the final match against Real Madrid. They will also play offensive with counter attack too, Juventus still has a big chance to win this final Champions League too. I'm surprised that many people on this thread choose Real Madrid to win. Juventus also can win dude.

It is just history. Real Madrid has won the Champions Trophy eleven times, while Juventus have won it only twice. Moreover, Real are the defending champions.
On a head-to-head basis, there is nothing separating the 2 teams. They have met 18 times and both teams have won 8 games each, with 2 draws.
1039  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Before buying an altcoin on: June 03, 2017, 04:05:57 AM
How and where to check and what to check first before buying a coin?

If it is on the top 10 on coinmarketcap.com, then you are buying an established alt.
Others are highly risky and susceptible to pump and dump. Go for it if the coin has an innovative idea, you believe in it and you have money to lose. Otherwise, avoid investing in random alts.
1040  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What is the Ethereum Classic future? on: June 03, 2017, 04:04:06 AM
I think ETC is more valuable than ETH. When ETH is cheap I was buying ETC not ETH. If anything happen to Bitcoin in the future, ETC is the only coin that can take the place of BTC

If we compare the values of ETH vs ETC say a month after the hard fork, ETC was 1/10th ETH. That actually has gotten worse now. So while ETC has appreciated significantly in value over the past year, it has been outperformed by ETH.
