any chance on a windows version?
make it 1% fee and everthing will be fine  Grin

why even charge but its coming hopeing no fee and it's not to late and if there is a fee also give us a one time charge to unlock it , either way i plan to donation mine for two weeks 20 to 30 mins a day. I did the same thing for Genoil Miner for a few days til the updates stopped , and will again if there is another update and it's use able .

oh no! now we got the win-realease of SA3-kernel fast gpu miner for everyone, not only for linux-miner
what a pity  Cheesy
adaseb asked for win-build instruction (see the SA-topic 09/29/2016) and nobody helped - you got what you got  Tongue

and that's bad because some of  us are lazy windows user and called that from time to time . we can't have it ? . and never saw were adaseb asked Sad.

There were law suits a while back that proved that but they  keep doing it and guess what it works they get market share at a cost but it doesn't hurt them  it does hurt us the buyer .

what company makes both CPU and GPU and does it well and the same company is all ways dogged by two other company's who have deeper packets because AMD cares while the rich company could careless .

I will admit the 470 and 480 were over priced not meant to be sold at the prices they sold at we can thank NV for making AMD lower the price but NV caused the high price in the first place . that how NV controls it and they just Showed it again .Those lower cards prices from NV were intended.  cool still won't get me to buy there cards.

@Genoil

I suppose I was one of the 1000 angry miners who switched from your miner to Claymore's Smiley
I just sent 0.1 BTC to your address as a donation. Thanks a lot for putting up with us!

Speak for your self  ( Just KIDDING)  i didn't switch hoping and waiting for another version update , only reason i don't use it because it is to buggie but not angry, I'm only using Claymore because i like windows more then Linux once Silent army V5 comes out I'll use it or this one if there is a stable update or both not Claymore . that's my issue.
1046  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - v1020 - Claymore Zcash 30% faster !!!!! on: November 06, 2016, 06:56:29 AM
why not offer silent army V3 it works the same as  Claymore Zcash same speeds etc .

I tested it under Ubuntu 16 and its awesome or offer both it is very stable, wasn't before, but is now .

super easy to install in Ubuntu 14 and 16 they made it that way . 16 is easier and AMD finally fixed there drivers for Ubuntu  with there 400 series cards .

Is the NV support being done in OpenCL or porting kernel to cuda?

sure windows support is needed, but NV should have priority, tested linux fee miner it goes 50+ on 1070 so I guess a lot more optimization is possible

I think NV support is V4 and windows is V5 which is better . i use AMD but also want a stable version for windows i hope is fee free i will donate mine every day for week or 2 20 mins a day freely if so . to show my ty

I'm waiting for windows support  please don't rush i'll  suxx up paying that 2.5 % free with Claymore's ZCash that how much i would rather use windows i didn't go back to windows  from Ubuntu either to use Claymore's ZCash i would rather use windows. i switched back because i like windows more and  Claymore's ZCash just happens to be all there is that actually works well in windows till yours gets support or Genoil Miner it updated better  i had no other choice. I'm ware of Ubuntu in windows 10 , i saw some one in this post used it and got it working .
1049  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Recover 2nd Sapphire RX-470 8G Bios on: November 06, 2016, 01:30:29 AM
I have been flashing bios on my Sapphire RX-470 8G cards.  4 cards worked fine (atiflash locks up computer after success...).  Zcash mining boost ~10% (claymores miner).  ON the 5th card, when I flashed it it would show as Polaris 10 (not rx-470), GPU-Z would see it, but wouldn't mine.  Tried again, same thing.  Then I reloaded original bios, back to normal.  I then edited its original bios (only change is the last memory strap).  Now it shows as standard vga device, and Atiflash fails to load.  I just flipped bios switch, and now back to mining with the stock silent bios.  I am just wondering is there any way to recover the other bios?  Looking around, you could do it on some older cards by shorting some pins on the chips, not sure if that, or some other trick is still possible?

i did the same thing!!!  copy the bios from the good bios and flash is over then uninstall all profiles of any kind you even may need to do clean install on the PC . I messed up two 470 one only had one bios , and all the numbers matched from the other card with two bios i flashed it to the ref card same brand or made by the same company both were RX 470 same dates , and it worked , windows didn't see it or saw it like yours i ended up doing a clean install on the PC to wipe any junk profiles the driver cleaner didn't remove. that worked it installed and both still work great . the fact the PC see it is good . if it didn't then it may be bad or gone up . use the command line to flash it so i found out the hard way. also make sure the bios dates match even if the number match it can still flash but not work i had that happen , I used a bios dated July for the same card that has bios date of AUG bad idea sense it had two bios i was lucky.

I'm not to keen on shorting Pins it does work but more risky then doing re flashes . or uninstall all drivers , GPU-Z, afterburner anything that stores a profile reboot then try atiflash that error maybe gone. had that happen to.

1051  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: is there a pc software for mining? on: November 05, 2016, 11:13:21 PM
CPU  or  GPU mining is your best bet with a PC these day . minergate is good to use to get your feet wet till you know more, once you know wtf your doing find something better there are better miners but it is a very good miner to learn with and you may like it enough to keep using it . I didn't but Ive allso been mining for three years and it's been a lot of fun and made ROI on some gear i bought when i did mine BTC directly .. all my antminer S5 did ROI and i made some profit now you can't unless you have deep packets mining BTC .

I went back to GPU mining or video card mining .

like they said check out minergate or even this one https://www.nicehash.com/index.jsp?p=nhmintro don't mine btc on a PC it might become a waste of time . mine alt coins and be paid with BTC, mining BTC directly with a PC is a bad idea you can do it but get nothing out of it .

thanks top
1052  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner]- Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 5000 miners on: November 05, 2016, 09:53:16 PM
errr Claymore 1.1 is a mess for me i had to reset every thing with it i was using the epools.txt file with it now  awesome keeps over writing that and rewrites conf file sometimes puts in the wrong info, it looks like i have to use the conf file no mater what or not use awesome sigh . or use 1.0 . or im not even sure wtf happen it all started after using 1.1.

NM it was more i DIDN'I know WTF I was doing user error it never ran the thu epools.file with awesome it keep going to the conf file if i use the bat file in the  folder and adjust files and turn off the conf  and unmark or add my pool in epools.txt . it works that way without awesome  but awesome keep using the conf file i know that is user error, i notice setting are also different then using the eth miner from Claymore, i got it working thu awesome with the conf file till i figure out what goes were in awesome for Zec mining or what to use . hope that  made sense what it comes to is i got it working again had to use the conf file like i was all a long .

-zpool us1-zcash.flypool.org:3333
-zwal
-zpsw x
-allpools 1

how i discovered it I tired to turn off the log file with

-dbg -1

thu awesome i don't need all those dam files adding up and no idea why Claymore doesn't shut it off by default or at least set it to log to one file by default , instead of making one every time the miner is used  and note it in the read me with on off flags. i know you can do that now, but make it default . and awesome miner has no control over that .

btw im  not using the default pool awesome miner does rewrite in my pool setting the right way, another user error or misunderstanding .

all because of that Fee that's whole messed part .

"-allpools" option is set, default pools can be used for devfee, check "Readme" file for details.

owell till silent army V5 comes out the software that Claymore's  zec miners  is based off , i l use it I guess or go back to Ubuntu 16 . get the same results using SA v3 fee less. then i can't use awesome sigh .
1053  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Genoil's ZEC miner: AMD ZCash miner for Windows - 0.6 on: November 05, 2016, 08:20:42 PM
ETH miners are already fully optimized, ZEC miners are at the early development stage.

Pity ZEC price is plummeting...  Cry

True but it's holding around 560 a coin, still some to be made if you have the hash power. maybe by  election day well see it at 160 bucks a pop or less, i hope not but could.
1054  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What s the benefit that having Back Plate ? on: November 05, 2016, 07:48:48 PM
I took mine off the cards ran cooler so no idea really how to answer why some say it run better with it, mine run better with out it .

looking at my msi r9 390, the metal that serves as ram heat sink is screwed to the back plate to better dissipate heat from the rams, maybe some cards have it for looks, and some have it for heat dissipation.

I have three RX 470 one of the RX 470 has one the other doesn't, the one with a case type back plate gets hotter then the one with out one i even checked the Vram on both with wattool no back plate one is cooler and the third RX 470 with no back plate  runs all most as hot as the one with one . why i  said I don't know or gonna try to explain why . by no back plate one has one but it has holes were it can short out and even be dmg by ESD  it's runs the coolest of the three . the third  one i can touch everything on back has no protection at all but is also is the lightest of the three it is very lite and the one in the case type back plate runs the hottest has no open holes on the back and is heavy. My R9 280 ran hotter with it before i watered cooled it i took it off , could have left it on but it seems to run cooler with no back plate .

watered cooled with a small fan from the kit blowing on the vram. Vram is even cooler .

I think it's there first one at any thing lower then 32 mn in while beside the APU that's at 28 i think. if it does what they say CPU miners will love it .

I know i went the easy way, but good point i should have said that.

your right not much difference between eth and zec i put my 470 back on eth and left my older cards on zec.

Claymore is here, only market share for other dev is now NV Smiley

Have to say that Claymore miner just doubled my speed.

silent army three which Claymore it based off of does to but is Linux and  super easy to install under Ubuntu 16.04 ,SA  V 4 will get  NV support and V 5  for SA is windows support . but  i also hope we get a nice version of this one and  ZEC holds above or at ETH prices so both will be worth making a dual  miner for, when the ride is over .

1060  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience is now dabbling with 16nm ASICs for new designs on: November 05, 2016, 03:11:34 AM
I refuse to make anything with fixed specs, so a USB miner would be downvoltable and downclockable to run on a stock USB port. Because of buck losses and control overhead it won't be at its most efficient operating point down there, but it should still run. The BM1384 Compac could run off a 500mA port, or it could be pushed to 2.5A if you wanted.

Yeah I'd shoot for a stock power draw of about 220W DC per S1 board. When you figure in the fan and stuff, and PSU losses, you're looking at a bit over 500W wall. So not as quiet as an S3 but certainly quieter than an S5. I also intend to put PCIe jacks in the right place to still be compatible with an S3 housing. USB cabling internally will be the only worry there.

Nobody ever said a 250W board doing 10TH. That kind of thing is probably two years away at best.

I know just talk i wouldn't care as long it would be worth using not priced  like bitmian shit and  i know you can make it run better you have .I never said you said that Smiley . Just talk
