Ripple, as it is backed by a central entity with huge reserves. Sad to say, but the only ones with big chance of success are the ones which are highly centralised and can perform efficiently.

The fact that 100 billion coins are pre-printed and in the hands of the founding company should be a big enough red flag for everybody to not touch Ripple. Nuff said.

1083  Economy / Services / Re: [BIT-X.com] [NEW RATES] Earn Bitcoins by Posting | Signature Campaign on: January 29, 2015, 09:12:58 AM
Payment received, thanks for this campaign.

However I'm having issues withdrawing my Bitcoins from Bit-X. It shows balance in pull-down menu, but the withdrawal button doesn't seem to work.
Moreover some functions are showing weird codes.

Anyone having similar issue?

UPDATE:
This was a browser issue. I tried Chrome and everything went fine. Site seems to have these issues only with Firefox.
I'm not sure if its a problem with my machine or website.

I had the same problem yesterday on Firefox, too.Got weird codes.
I opened Firefox private window and it worked, but when I'm in the none private window i get weird codes.

Then its an issue with the site, not my machine.  Thanks for confirming.
1084  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: More phishing emails - Localbitcoins on: January 29, 2015, 09:10:39 AM
That's just bad  Sad. Anyone can pretend to be anyone this way. I see now why these phishing attempts are successful, user just sees the 'from' address and thinks that it is real.

Welcome to the world of internet mail. It's been like that for 30 years or so, but you're probably not the last one to realize that it's broken.

Onkel Paul
email really hasn't even been around for 30 years yet. phishing is also somewhat of a newer "feature" of email as it has really only been used for the past ~7 years or so, although phishing attempts have been getting much more advanced

I have seen examples where a whole phishing site was hosted on Google Drive, which made it seem very legit.

You receive an email which looks like coming from Google team. You hover over the suspicious link to check only to find that it takes you to a google url (because the site is hosted on Google Drive). You click and assume you are on a Google-owned page. It asks you to login to your Google account. You enter your google account details and .....

1087  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Some questions about Mr. Satoshi. on: January 28, 2015, 10:40:06 AM
Did Satoshi always use VPN and proxies to browse and access his online accounts? No traced IP addresses?

He did , he was using Tor browser also but seems like he didn't configure it as should be . A hacker managed to hack his P2P Foundation account (website where he launched Bitcoin project for the first time )
You can see here that he used his account and said that he will sell his IP in the Darknet => http://p2pfoundation.ning.com/forum/topics/bitcoin-open-source?commentId=2003008%3AComment%3A55276

I was aware of that, and the "I am not Dorian Nakamoto" comment. His account was hacked. I was just wondering if there are other people who know his real IP address but being very close to Satoshi and being very trusted members they don't want to reveal this information.

Seems like these ponzi's are getting shorter and shorter lol.
First it was weekly ponzi, then it was half-weekly, then it was 2 day ponzi, then it was 1 day, then 12 hour, now 6 and 1 hour???  Grin Grin so funny

Then it will be a few seconds. You deposit the first set of coins and *POOF* it will be gone; no returns!!  Cheesy

If I want to sell or buy 1 Bitcoin I can't do that.

You can, you need to submit your KYC first and link your bank account.

That's not an issue; he is saying there isn't enough volume to carry out big transactions.

There is some truth to it, but I guess the exchange is new and it will gain more volume as time passes.

If you like Cyanogenmod pre-loaded phones, Oppo N1 is also a good alternative compared to OnePlus One:

http://www.theverge.com/2014/1/15/5241970/oppo-n1-with-cyanogenmod-review

You may fix a budget, though. There are many good android phone including the Nexus series, but the choice may very well depend upon how much you're willing to spend.

1) owner sets up a website advertising 300% or more/less ROI to users who invest in their “plans”.
2) Unfortunate victims deposit in the hope of receiving good returns.
3) Users get paid with the deposits of others allowing some to say the investments are working
4) The extra publicity and praise helps rake in more and more Bitcoins
5) When payouts become unsustainable, owner folds and runs with remaining money
6) Rinse and repeat at will.

1094  Other / MultiBit / Re: Multibit bug, i lost my btc on: January 28, 2015, 04:09:28 AM
To summarize, this is a known issue with MultiBit which has affected multiple people since 2012 and it is unresolved till date.

I strongly feel that MultiBit team should take full responsibility of this and compensate everyone who lost any BTC to 1FYMZEHnszCHKTBdFZ2DLrUuk3dGwYKQxh address.
After all 3.7 BTC is not a very huge amount for them.

I see,  I've used MultiBit since around that time but I've never encountered this.  What are the steps to reproduce the error?

I don't think there is any known procedure to reproduce the error. Even MultiBit devs could not find anything (or claimed to find nothing) in the MultiBit code that could cause the issue.

And by the way, if I were you, I wouldn't try to reproduce the error. You wouldn't want to deliberately lose your BTC, do you?

1095  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Sticky Bitcoins - Let your FIAT do the work. on: January 27, 2015, 12:37:35 PM
Very nice and novel idea.

However I expect some people to be reluctant in accepting coins when they see 'some kind of sticker' on it.
Its is worth the risk and effort, though.

1099  Local / India / Re: India's Best Bitcoin Exchange goes Live with Deposits & Withdrawals! on: January 27, 2015, 09:11:09 AM
Fixed Google Auth Withdraws.
Added INR Volume under Exchange Data as well

Nope; still getting same error. It tells me to enable 2FA when I already have it.

Fixed and confirmed via PM!

Confirmed. This issue is fixed and I was able to withdraw my Bitcoins. Withdrawal verification took a couple of hours; I guess the withdrawal requests are confirmed manually?

One more question: For verified customers, is there any limit on buy/sell amount or withdrawals?
1100  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Stop limit on: January 27, 2015, 09:02:38 AM
I don't understand why they don't also make an option so we can choose that the coins to be sold 280 $. Then I could cash the profit without having access to the computer.

Once your stop order is already adjusted on $280, it will automatically sell if price drops to $280. You don't need to do a thing.
You only need to manually sell if you certainly believe that the price will go down from $290 to $280, and you want to sell at $290 without waiting for this to happen.

No idea about the script, I've never used any.
