1081  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are there any truly safe bets in sports betting? on: September 25, 2020, 03:33:33 PM
It is a good strategy but only for the short term. In gambling, no one can really say such thing as an obvious winning especially in sports betting.
Are these bets as safe as they seem? Would you go for this strategy or not? Why?
As I have said, it is a good strategy but only for the short term but not considered safe since we cannot always guarantee your winning even if you bet on an obvious winner, there will always be a chance that your bet will lose. I'd rather not go with that strategy.

Odds were still odds as they're no really safe or guaranteed in gambling especially in betting. The safer is when we do know the event, the team or the players backgrounds. Odds can help in indicating the potential and can help us in determine in what event we should focus and do study on which to bet since we can still discover more about the game when we do research and identify some winning or losing points of both sides.
True, sports betting is a 50-50 situation because there are many factors to have a win on this kind of betting. There's a chance for you to have a winning streak but it's not a long-term strategy because it only works for a certain time. If we study the teams, it will give us a chance of winning but it's no guaranteed to win unless you are betting to a team that is obviously gonna win.

Experience also on the sports might help you where to bet because you knew their strategy to win the game and you have your basis which is good and bad players.
1082  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is Addictive...Pay Attention to your Gambling Habit!!! on: September 25, 2020, 03:18:49 PM
Your friend is just an addict. That is the usual story of an addict.

So am urging everyone out there playing to play, but try not to make it a lifestyle, try to always play with only money youve decided to loose, play for the fun and don't expect anything back... Play and don't get addicted.

I doubt you don't know you are spreading some negative on betting and gambling platforms with this but no matter how it appears, new gamblers will join. Some people see gambling as business for living and they can't stop to look for means of survival through it.
he already mentioned that His friend is really an addict that lost Family because of addiction.
Some people of course look at this  as business or life giving option,But the truth is only few in a thousand that become successful on this areas.

so let us not consider this as bread and butter but instead a happy place to unwind.

It should not be taken that much if you are not good in disciplining yourself.

Gambling can cause many deeper problem, the very reason why there are people who takes their own life
because of this addictions thinking that the only solution is to die and forget about everything.

That's probably the worst cause scenario being a gambler, actually there have already been some articles about that, like below.

https://www.theguardian.com/society/2019/jul/19/problem-gamblers-much-more-likely-to-attempt-suicide-study

However, with the number of gamblers all over the world the suicide cases was already downplayed, I have no data information to back my opinion but I believe that it's not gambling addiction which are the top causes for suicide as I believe gamblers are risk takers and optimistic.
I can't agree with your opinion . I personally know a guy . Who are addicted on gambling . He was involved in many more misdeeds with gambling . Such as theft , robbery and drugs . He was so addicted to gambling that he borrowed and gambled and drank heavily , At one time he owed a lot of money  . He had not the ability  to pay the money . He gradually became depressed . And eventually he chose the path of suicide . That's why i always tell everyone not to get addicted to gamling . Spend as much money on gambling as you can afford . Not more than that
Let's generalize things, don't make things that will ruin your life. If you knew that you can't afford to retrieve all of your loss, then don't risk your money in gambling. Once you get addicted in gambling, it's obvious that it will lose a lot of money if you have losing streak.

If you got depress because of many problems, they see suicide as an easy way so all of the addiction can lead to it when worst case scenarios happened.
1083  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: VALORANT Betting on: September 25, 2020, 01:24:18 PM
they streamers try the game because they do have money that is not being used much so they dare to do the gambling because they will get their money back from the advertising they get from them, so still be careful when using the money you have.
I am not going to use money to buy stuff inside a game and literally they are useless spending for outfits like things.Just try the game and just leave it there, if you are going to make a career out of it then its worth investing money but it may take longer time to get succeed and also success rate is too low.
I'm a gamer and sometimes I spend money on games because I enjoy it and a support to the developers for maintaining the game well. Spending stuffs isn't that bad and it is not applicable only for those who are making careers on the game. Those ingame stuffs are made for us especially the real gamers out there who are enjoying such game like this.

I really love the game Valorant which why I do enjoy playing it together with my friends. Seems like the same concept with Call of Duty (COD), Players Unknown Battle Ground (PUBG) which are the real deal games before Valorant's existence. Actually all of those games are really great and considerably great to be played with. I have not played Valorant based on betting with other people only with my friends but those were not a decent bet to think for that is just for fun. But if ever, I would take a chance to bet on playing it for somehow I am getting used on having confidence on my playing skills on this game making me up to play and bet on it.

I am getting more and more into valorant myself. Its a great interactive game with a lot of features compared to old school games like CSGO. Still working on understanding the competitive scene of valorant. Getting into betting would be the next step for me. I missed the hole fortnite hype so valorant will be my first game I betting on after CSGO, LoL and dota. Any pretty safe bet recommendations for new gamblers here?
The teams I'm looking forward are C9 with TenZ, watch his gameplay, he's so pro and good at 1 taps. Also TSM, Gen.G and G2, there are plenty of good teams in the valorant scene. Try to watch some tournaments, you'll notice that they're always on the top.
1084  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What do think about skill games? on: September 25, 2020, 12:08:43 PM
you should have fast instincts on whats in front of you to precisely do this strategy. however, skill games has better chance of winning if you know your game. because if we're talking about luck-based games, you dont have to think on this game, just go with the flow and hoping that luck will strike you. so dont expect also that you are on the winning side on this one.

If those skills games are sports betting, then we really need skill, and yes, I agree that the chance will be better than the gambling games based luck, especially if we really know those games. But sometimes, the skills games need us to learn more or gather more information to select the right method or team/player, especially if we are lack information to choose. If we want to win those games, we need to have more information from other valid sources to increase the chance to win.
If you are always playing that specific game such as poker, you don't need to study or exert more effort to know the information about it. It's already on you because you are already playing the game and the winnings depend on your experience and approach to the game. Skill games are better than traditional games, we shouldn't always rely on luck.

The more experiences and strategies you have in a skill-based game, the more chances of winning.
1085  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is Addictive...Pay Attention to your Gambling Habit!!! on: September 25, 2020, 02:48:32 AM
snip

So am urging everyone out there playing to play, but try not to make it a lifestyle, try to always play with only money youve decided to loose, play for the fun and don't expect anything back... Play and don't get addicted.
Unfortunately I have witnessed a friend getting addicted to gambling and it is not pretty, your friend cannot solve this on his on tell him to look for professional help, just as there is an association like Alcoholics Anonymous there are probably associations with the sole purpose to help those with gambling addictions, I do not know if it is too late to get his family back but at least he should do everything that he can to get better and see his son again.
Thank you very much for your input mate, i really appreciate everyone and their advices, it was a good decision discussing about this here, i feel motivated to help him heal, and hes been doing better lately, hes wife will soon join him again and all thanks to everyone that has being talking to him and as well apologizing to the wife for all shes being through, she decided she will be coming back with their son by this weekend.
One of the important things about addicted situations is there is someone they can rely on, and he's lucky to have a friend that will help him relieve his addiction. Your friend is not cursed, having a losing streak is normal in gambling especially if you are unlucky in bettings. Also, it serves as a lesson for both of you because it also affects you and lessens your gambling activities, learning the mistakes of other people.

Always treat gambling as entertainment only not as a money-making job. People are getting obsessed with gambling because of getting money on it.
1086  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Police Raids and kids involving spider betting. on: September 25, 2020, 02:03:04 AM
Some of the statements here are against animal fighting, well, I value the other culture, but we can not deny that it is common in other countries, such as cockfighting. The main explanation for this is social distancing, since their actions could spread the infection.
Usually kids do gambling like spider betting not to get money, but for fun.
thats not called betting but call it spider fights if no money is at stake  . kids wouldnt have that idea that spider fights can also be a form of gambling if not because of the adults that influence them.

I am actually very worried that the spider betting
incident by kids could become a new spread of the corona virus. Because surely these kids violate health protocols, such as
not wearing masks or not doing social distancing.
its not like a regular gambling that are available everyday but spiders are seasonal  . if its not thier season , you can rarely see a spider so no activites related to it   . kids are not also excempted to the rule of pandemic .  kids on our place are not playing spiders but only  to kites yet health officials roam to catch these kids if they see them outside .
It's likely! It's about the influence of adults, so they may like to risk betting on spiders.
Yes, there's no exemption to any quarantine measures, we've got to follow that to prevent growing cases of COVID-19.
1087  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: UnionBank SMS phishing scam alert! on: September 25, 2020, 01:30:27 AM

1088  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Ako si Dogie's Channel Hacked and became a Crypto Channel. on: September 24, 2020, 03:36:07 PM
I checked his channel and it's back online https://www.youtube.com/c/AkosiDogie/videos glad that he is back I am not his follower but it's disheartening to see if a very popular channel is hacked, that will be loss of efforts until now there are still a lot of popular Youtube hacking, these hackers are still good and Youtube security is still questionable.
Yeah, kakaupload lang ng bagong vlog ni Dogie, His youtube channel was already back through google support.

1090  Economy / Economics / Re: Cashless Economy: Is Society ready for transformation? on: September 24, 2020, 01:58:50 PM
Cashless India, the Digital India programme is a flagship programme of the Government of India with a vision to transform India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. “Faceless, Paperless, Cashless” is one of the professed roles of Digital India.
Lets discuss!!

Not yet I guess, even though India's technology advances are really notable; that transformation is still not yet available since people are not fully knowledgeable about what could happen if they transition into being Cashless. It would still be good to do both Cashless and with Cash transactions since people might see that it would be better to do cashless since it would bring less hassle by carrying cash and the fear of being robbed.
I guess even an advanced country, it'll be difficult to implement a cashless society. The cashless society will take a lot of time before they implemented it. We need a new generation of people who is capable of understanding the advancement of technology, that's the time where they will implement the cashless society. Even a simple payment app is difficult for some people, what more if they implement a fully cashless system? it's not easy to handle.
1091  Economy / Economics / Re: Internet shutdowns by governments are bad for corporate marketing on: September 24, 2020, 01:31:45 PM
I don't know if this is just a coincidence but one of the most popular ISP here in our country, PLDT/Smart is notifying their costumers for their maintenance starting tomorrow until the end of the month. Schools that are affected are already notifying the students about this to stop their online classes until the maintenance are done. Just how bad will be the effect of this maintenance to big companies and corporations that uses their services.
Ofcourse it isn't related, PLDT/Smart will conduct emergency maintenance for the improvement of their service at the Asian American Gateway (AAG), one of PLDT’s international cable systems. Their maintenance has nothing to do with the internet shutdown by the government because the internet is one of the necessities in our country (it's obv.).

The internet shutdown in different aspects is a big problem. Even though simple maintenance will give a huge problem especially online classes.
1092  Economy / Economics / Re: Covid 19 shows how weak People are in the it mind on: September 24, 2020, 12:58:48 PM
Well we dont have the same feelings or reaction, everyone of us has our own instinct and everyone has its own way of addressing covid-19 there are people that is weak and there are also people that stands even if the trial is really hard. We only need to help each other so that we can all back to normal life because if we do not listen covid will still scattered and the number of death may increase.
Agree, we have different ways of approach on the current pandemic and it is true that some of us can't handle the situation we are experiencing right now. The right thing to do in this pandemic is to help each other as long as we can because the virus will not stop if someone still has it. We should follow protocols and hope for the government that they will do their best to address the issue.

The banks giving now even more money!
And You do not need to worry about paying back loans just wait for 7-10 years and debt will expire.

Are trying to be funny or something. I have hardly seen banks giving jobless person loan.  Grin
And for such a long time for no repayment is a joke.
Maybe what he mean here is 7-10 years in JAIL when you don't pay your loans  Grin
Having debts isn't a practical way and we shouldn't rely on loans. We should have savings and be prepared for the next pandemic.
1093  Local / Pamilihan / Another Pinoy Vlogger Channel hacked after Dogie's case, Ripple Involved on: September 24, 2020, 03:46:04 AM

As you can see in the picture, yung naka-live ay related sa XRP. We all know na wala namang kinalaman ang crypto sa mga nagaganap dito dahil posibleng binayaran ang hacker para mag-promote ng crypto sa isang sikat na channel. The channel's name has been changed to Ripple Foundation.

Edit: Di ko na-check yung channel mismo pero cover niya yung Gemini and searched about it, it is a regulated cryptocurrency exchange platform.

1094  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When we think that crypto is being used by criminals to move tons of money on: September 23, 2020, 07:46:13 PM
A lot of people are going to say sh*t about Bitcoin, but banks are doing the worst by covering up a lot of suspicious activities, and the truth is that banks have more privacy than Bitcoin. BTC is open to everyone it runs on the Blockchain which can be seen by everyone, there are no secrets at all.

Before, it has been banks that these criminals were making use of and some of them still make use of it, and trust me, banks are never going to say anything about it, it will always be a secret for them and you wouldn’t know about that. I always find it funny when people act like Bitcoin is the only place corruption started.
Agree on it, people will have a bad perspective on bitcoin because they are using it in scams and pyramiding scheme. Well, there's no clean activity happening in the finance, banks are being used in many criminal activities and yeah, we don't know it. We should implement seminars or free orientation about cryptocurrency so they will be aware of its potential.
1095  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Bitcoin society on: September 23, 2020, 06:28:54 PM
Different views of course exist and it is natural that some people see bitcoin to make money and have a bright future with bitcoin investing, people's opinions are not the same and in general I really believe many people look at bitcoin to make money.
In this industry we cannot avoid some people on their beliefs about bitcoin. Because some just treated bitcoin to make an easy money. Though bitcoin has a great opportunity to the users to gains knowledge and at the same to earn money. Also, to those who really believes and enjoying this platform are grateful for this opportunity to learn in bitcoin.
Agree, some people treat cryptocurrency as an asset only for making money and it is an opportunity for some to earn and study about cryptocurrency. Well, the new technology creates a new society and that's the blockchain, it also a benefit for those people who are trying to develop the society through technology. We have different opinion into this and we should respect it, as long as we are users of cryptocurrency, we are part of the bitcoin society.
1096  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What area of bitcoin participation is easiest to work with? on: September 23, 2020, 05:58:20 PM
Bounty hunting is risky too but if you got lucky, thousands of money will come to you. I experienced that during 2018, that's the reason why I manage to buy my own devices for schooling. Trading is a practical way, people prefer a practical way than risking their money because cryptocurrency isn't a sure money-maker. You need the right timing and effort when it comes to trading but it will surely give you profit.

I did try mining once but power consumption is one of the problems and I also tried trading as well. It depends on the person because we have different preferences for earning money.
1097  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Blockchain Specialization - DOST giving scholars in Coursera on: September 22, 2020, 09:57:39 AM
LOL!
If wala, try mong maghintay sa susunod kasi every week ata naghahanap sila as long as madaming nakakatapos ng courses, namimigay pa sila.

Question though, hawak mo naman oras mo if for example may scholarship na yung account mo diba? Paano mo mamemaintain yung grant na yun? I assume na kapag walang limitation, magagamit mo na yung account for a long period of time?
Based sa orientation, hawak mo oras mo kasi video tutorial siya and yung ibibigay ni DOST is coursera plus at valid until the end of 2020. Kaya now, pwede kang kumuha ng mga courses na gusto mong aralin until end of october tas matapos hanggang end of 2020. Goodluck.
1098  Local / Pilipinas / Blockchain Specialization - DOST giving scholars in Coursera on: September 22, 2020, 05:33:36 AM
Sa mga gustong matuto at mag-aral ng blockchain specialization, this is your chance.

  • Blockchain Specialization
  • Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency Technologies
  • Cryptocurrency and Blockchain: An Introduction to Digital Currencies

If hindi kaya makakahabol ngayon, mag-intay lang ulit sa official page ng DOST Caraga kasi as long as maraming good feedback at nakakatapos ng courses, namimigay pa sila ng slots.

1099  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Bitcoin society on: September 18, 2020, 07:52:38 PM
Not all society are accepted and approved by the world, nothing ever satisfy the whole public , this means nobody can have the same view about the word BITCOIN,
To some it's an agenda to make money (easy money),to others it's another means of scam, and for other it is the future , a future which started with just one man , and has evolved into a society, The Bitcoin Society, a society that has produced great people who can stand out and defend it's goals and aims any where they find there self and will keep on producing and I am very happy and proud to be part of this great society ..
This is totally normal. People will at first start denying bitcoin, slowly those will start to "reduce" and more people will start accepting and adopting bitcoin. One day this "small" bitcoin society will turn out to be the only society that exists (unless every country starts to go against bitcoin or such a flaw has been found in the system that cannot be fixed and the future becomes uncertain). One day there will be (almost) every people that will have the same opinion about bitcoin. Just give it some time.
Yeah, there are still many people doubting the ability of bitcoin and some are having thoughts of it being a scam. Once they've learned the features of it, they will slowly adapt the isage of bitcoin soon. Not all of the society starts from big, sometimes there's a process before becoming a massive society of bitcoin users.

Okay naman ito kasi it helps educate people of how digital currency works. Ang problema lang this "digital currency" is regulated by the central bank. Eh 'di ba bitcoin is created to help people move away from banks, let alone the "central bank"? It is created to decentralize the financial system. So, even if it is "digital" like bitcoin, I don't think it offers the same solution.
If digital transactions lang din ang usapan mas preferable gumamit nalang ng gcash or coins.ph, kasi I agree na wala namang masyadong pinagkaiba, same solution and no benefits at all.
