1281  Other / Meta / Re: Is this a bug? Or it is normal? on: October 22, 2019, 04:33:59 PM
Is there by any chance that it's not a bug and the last post section even if the post was deleted was to identify who are the true members who have created the last post? What I mean about that is this some kind of way to identify bumping bots/services in the past and hasn't been removed in the forum even after the new bumping system has been introduced?
1282  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin: "Maybe Is a Partial Store of Value" on: October 21, 2019, 08:43:51 PM
Just admitting that Bitcoin is a "partial" store of value alone directly contradicts on the other things he have saved about Bitcoin. If it is somehow a store of value then it could also be a means of payment as well as a unit of account as this is what the functions of a currency is and Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are showing it not only by definition but also the users involve in the industry. He might still be denying the facts of its existence but the evidence is just right in front of us from companies adapting and accepting cryptocurrencies to companies like Facebook creating their own crypto this should prove that Bitcoin started the age of digital cryptocurrencies not only as a means of payment but a store of value.
1283  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: October 21, 2019, 07:54:34 PM
AC Milan is in the worst shape ever... serieB is calling (again)

They may be bad but they aren't the type of team to fall in Serie B again because the last time they got relegated is for their punishment for the Totonero 1980. And bro get real comparing the rest of the Serie B teams out there and even the top ones in Serie A the money that AC Milan has is completely different compared to the financial support on majority of the Italian football teams they have, the money alone can at least keep them afloat in Serie A, without that they can't make transfers, a new stadium, and coaching changes in this kind of season.
1284  Local / Pilipinas / Re: [Help] Building my own mining rig (Self moderated) on: October 21, 2019, 07:09:04 PM
1285  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-10-20] HTC Launches Exodus 1S, First Phone That Can Run a Full BTC Node on: October 21, 2019, 06:37:55 PM
Finally a cheap phone that is fully capable of promoting crypto transactions to the masses. At first I thought that this Exodus 1S would be a more premium version of the Exodus 1 but it turns out to be considerably cheaper (400$ to be exact). When Samsung did it to their flagship phone, Galaxy S10, I thought that the trend for integrated crypto wallets in phones would only be for the top of the line models for mobile phone brands which is totally a dumb idea if they are really thinking about including or at least covering all of the social classes not only the ones in the middle class and above. With a 233$ phone at least HTC is giving also giving a chance for freelancers and small businesses to have an option of accepting cryptos as their payment.
1286  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: ASIC technology trademark or intellectual property right protection? on: October 21, 2019, 04:39:46 PM
Anyon can take advantage of ASIC technology since the tech itself isn't an intellectual property of anyone. What would be illegal though is if other companies will directly copy the mining rigs of other companies itself. For example is if a company copies any of Bitmain's antminers with similar specs and design or without literally any kind of changes then the company might have violated Bitmain's intellectual property.
1287  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: October 20, 2019, 08:42:57 PM
Well I really thought that Hakan Calhanoglu have saved the day for Milan including Stefano Pioli's debut for them, but it wasn't enough and they only ended up with a draw. I have to admit that I was impressed with his goal in the first half and the assist he have that lead to Piatek to score a goal, he really showed that he doesn't want to lose this game. But at the end it wasn't enough and this was really an embarrassing match on having a draw against a team who is near at the bottom. I do admit that the team needs more than a manager change now, and I think the team we have isn't enough to have a win. That penalty saved from Donnarumma that lead to a goal for Lecce really ruined the groove for Milan.
1288  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tips/Suggestions for NBA Fantasy (Head-to-Head) on: October 20, 2019, 07:46:26 PM
UPDATE

So I just finished our draft in the league today and I was picking 6th overall from a 14 team league that is on a serpentine format. I would say as a newbie I did a pretty good job on drafting players I like and a little bit fortunate that some teams have skipped gems. During the first round since I would be picking 6th I was hoping for one of the top five players to slip and luckily someone picked Jokic on hist 5th pick that is why Towns was still available. During the 2nd round this is where it started to get some wild picks from the other teams picking before me which made me land Kemba Walker which wasn't usually available in the 23rd pick. At the end Yahoo projected me to be the 2nd best team in our league which made me happy, or am I missing out something here? That Yahoo's projections are wildly inaccurate to base on who would be winning the league?

1289  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Poloniex is leaving Circle - Discussion on: October 20, 2019, 07:05:20 PM
That sounds like leaving your funds on the exchange after December 15th will mean they are completely lost. Instantly becoming the property of Circle (we can only assume).

Now, I’m not saying this is abhorrent, but I would say it’s a synonym - repulsive, despicable, loathsome. Only giving people two months notice to move their funds, otherwise they are gone.

This just fits perfectly into the downward trend Poloniex has cleared for themselves.

Just my two cents regarding in this situation, I guess that the two month withdrawal period wasn't their choice alone. Remember that Poloniex is “spinning out” from US and we should take note that the US government is keeping their crypto industry on a short leash that any kind of faults or loopholes on their businesses would mean a catastrophe on them. If the US authorities still spots assets from US citizens being held in their exchange then they would be instantly accused on things like they are operating illegaly in US soil, trust me they have done this in the past and I doubt that they won't do it again.
1290  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Looking for a CEO/manager for a legal anti-scam project on: October 20, 2019, 05:54:23 PM
Really? You are a CEO of a company and you are looking for a replacement here in this forum? Are you even thinking straight here? I don't even think that you need to start looking for one here since you already said that you have a “great network” and you already have partnered up with a big law association which I'm pretty sure that it guarantees you to have better replacements suggested by them. I don't know what kind of gimmick you are into but if you are really running a company you must know your options first before heading out here.
1291  Economy / Reputation / Re: Need advice about reputation. on: October 19, 2019, 09:15:22 PM
What we can do to have good reputation on BTT?

Basing it on what I have seen so far, members who haven't build up their reputation yet and has already been tagged based on their scam accusation cannot really have a good reputation. You already have lost your chance by the mistakes you did and there is no going back from that. In my opinion if you really want a chance to somehow start up fresh then you must fix your scam accusation first before you even try to build up a good reputation. Of course there will be no guarantees that it will fix the problem but it's your only chance to start out clean.
1292  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where will this fluctuation end ? on: October 19, 2019, 08:15:55 PM
With my years of experience in the crypto market I can consider Bitcoin's movement now as something to be more steady rather than it being too volatile. Compared to the previous movements we have seen where Bitcoin can go up by 10 to 15% in just a day the 50-100$ price movement we are seeing now is incomparable to that since we are consolidating. If you are coming from a much less volatile market like the stock market you might not be used to these kinds of price movement but honestly this is the closest thing we can get as far as steady price movements go. Since we are consolidating the answer for your other question is still unsure because we aren't neither in the bull market or in a bear market and in consolidation all we can do is observe where it will move next whether it is near the support or in a resistance level which would indicate a test on both levels.
1293  Economy / Exchanges / Re: What kind of function would you like to have on an exchange? on: October 19, 2019, 07:06:19 PM
This is more like a suggestion for your business rather than just a function for your exchange. Why not take advantage of your market that instead of having just an exchange you should also offer up an integrated wallet app for your clients similar to what Coinbase is doing which has both an exchange and a wallet app for their customers. Wallet integration for your exchange will also be a good feature to have if you want to give convenience and several options for your customers to send in or cash out money from both platforms.
1294  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: October 17, 2019, 07:24:37 PM
Talking about signing new contracts, Bradley Beal agrees to sign a 4-year 130M deal with the Washington Wizards. That's another big money for a player. This is the current trend for most players now, get paid well in your best years so that it's okay to get minimum when you want to chase a ring and join a championship team.

Washington Wizards don't have much options, after all he is their best player. I feel a bit sorry for them, few years ago they were promising team, but they really messed themselves up with that god awful John Wall contract and i don't see them sorting that anytime soon. And on top of that, John Wall will most likely miss whole 2019/2020 season.
Tough few years ahead of Wizards

Well that's true but I don't think that Bradley Beal hasn't really proven himself to deserve that kind of money. I've been preparing for the NBA fantasy (which I was hoping someone will help me on this thread) and Beal is in the top 10 players to be drafted in the league, and all of the mock drafts I participated he didn't even cross the 11th pick and above. This only means fans also know his value for the Wizards and he may not win a lot of games since Wall is injured but he will be the best player for Washington along with Bryant of course.
1295  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and kiddie porn on: October 17, 2019, 06:47:08 PM
Honestly this is one of the most neutral news I have seen related to the crypto industry more specifically towards Bitcoin. I've read the whole article hoping for some silent jabs against Bitcoin being the main tool for this crime to happen but I was surprised there was none found in the whole article. This is what I am hoping for news media sites are not insinuating on anything against cryptocurrency and they are more focused against the crime involved and not Bitcoin entirely. Back then you will see a lot of new sites go in the opposite direction where it made Bitcoin like the main ingredient for this crimes to happen that is why we got a bad impression from the start.
1296  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Let's stand against Bounty Scammer. on: October 17, 2019, 12:56:34 PM
Can destroying/ruining the reputation of those projects who already scammed them make any kind of difference? For projects who are still being traded yes but for ICOs who pulled off an exit scam I don't think voicing out your concern would make any difference on being paid back for your services. Bounty hunting is still a tricky way to earn since it's like ICO hunting where you need to DYOR in order to lessen your chances on being part of the scam, most newbies here don't want to promote a scam but due to their carelessness and thirst for money they still join shady projects because they only see the pay out.
1297  Other / Meta / Re: Is this forum not afraid about it's demise? on: October 16, 2019, 08:34:14 PM
I would rather have 3.1 million constant users of the forum rather than 27 million more people who just got interested of Bitcoin because of its hype. Because lets face it those 27 million viewers of Bitcointalk are just here because of the bull run in 2017 and most of them here posted topics about how they will earn and how they will be rich with Bitcoin and then after that when the crash begin they are mostly likely the ones who became nocoiners at the end since they have bought Bitcoin with no proper plan. That number is just noise and practically not here because they are interested with Bitcoin but rather more interested in earning from it.
1298  Economy / Economics / Re: Fiat Money Losing Worth, Bitcoin and Gold Getting Important on: October 16, 2019, 07:54:32 PM
I have a strong feeling that the Bitcoin and Gold part is only added by the author of the article itself and it's not one of the main points being talked about Gruebel. If you look at the news it's all about the low interests rates and inflation and there are no particulars about any kind of solution whatsoever. So this just means that this is another one of those crypto news article sites trying to create a story of their own and fail to deliver any kind of connection, the point being that the article itself only added "Bitcoin and Gold" as the last sentence of the article without really adding any kind of reason why it will be a solution for any kind of problem in the economy.
1299  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Role of crypto (enthusiasts) in the increasing PH cashless transactions on: October 16, 2019, 07:14:14 PM
President Duterte has also signed Republic Act 11127 or the National Payment Systems Act providing oversight, regulation, and supervision of payment systems.

BSP Governor Benjamin Diokno had said the central bank is confident of meeting its target of raising the share of digital payments to 20 percent by 2020 from only one percent in 2013.

Hindi naman sa nagtataka ako pero bakit ini-aim ng BSP na maging sanay na tayo sa cashless payments? Is there any specific reasons what is it exactly about? Since Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas ang pinaguusapan natin di ba dapat mas ine-encourage nila ang pag gamit ng sarili nating Philippine Peso? I'm not saying this is bad news for us but may problema na ba tayo sa circulation ng ating fiat currency kaya gusto tayong hikayatin sa pag gamit ng mga cashless payments? Nevertheless I think this is a good sign for us crypto users na ginagamit din ang holdings nila for payments kaya masasabi kong good news ito pero ano kaya ang rason bat nila ito ini-encourage in the first place?
1300  Economy / Gambling discussion / Tips/Suggestions for NBA Fantasy (Head-to-Head) on: October 16, 2019, 06:36:41 PM
*picture from espn.com

So my friends had convinced me to join their NBA fantasy league and it will be my first time ever playing in one so I'm technically new. I've seen a lot of guides and videos about basketball fantasy leagues and I have a general idea for it but I really want to know more suggestions and tips here in the forum especially from members here that are experienced with playing fantasy basketball. Our draft will be coming up by the end of the week so I'm maximizing my time preparing for it. The league type will be head-to-head based on the settings I have seen and if you want to have more specifics about my league format just tell me.

Generally I want to know answers from this:
  • What players to draft
  • What players to avoid
  • Strategy when picking from 1st to 5th
  • Strategy when picking in the middle spot
  • Strategy when picking on the 10th to 14th spot

Or any kinds of tips that won't at least make me look like a noob.
