1326  Economy / Economics / Re: The Central Bank of Facebook on: July 05, 2019, 05:58:32 AM

That is what I'm wondering about with Facebook. They say they are not a threat to Bitcoin, as it is a STAKE coin linked

to USD/Gold and other currencies, (probably not crypto). So the folk running the nodes at $10 million a pop make all the

$$$ for the transaction fees. (let us call it 1% but that is likely too high). Facebook, supposedly, being 'hands off' on this

Libra coin thru 3rd parties, gets its revenue and $$$ from the even more personal data they can collect on your spending

habits and of course use that, even more, metadata, to target you with their usual revenue stream of ad's, etc.

0K. Now let us say some time passes and this all above is working. People have their bank accounts via Facebook linked

to get Libracoin for quick and easy purchases via Facebook/Paypal/Amazon/eBay, etc. Worldwide indeed. The node runners

are making bucko bucks, Facebook knows even more about what you are likely to buy, likely better at guessing than you are.

What I don't understand is the idea that this Libra 'eventually' will NOT be a threat to Bitcoin everyone claims?

Really, the centralization of power/money and influence is well documented by History. Would not Facebook, as a centralized

coin they can change at a whim not make a Libra 2.0 or even a different coin and try to make it the replacement store of value

that Bitcoin has now? See, they will say, we are centralized it is working just dandy, trust us.

Then using the analogy above of, historically, the centralization of power/money and influence would they not chip away with

such twisting government regulations to stifle these 'pesky' open source coins, like Bitcoin and Litecoin, etc?

Not saying it would work, but I'd bet crypto of any flavor, once established they will try, count on it.

As being complete masters of the centralized coin, it would not be an issue to change the protocol or indeed as I said above

make a Libra Gold that acts like Bitcoin and is a store of value.

Anyway, this is unlikely to be the case, with 10 years of Bitcoin and open source in the world, but again, I'll bet you right now

once Libra is established and even 'moderately' successful, they will make a run at Bitcoin in some manner to knock it down.

So to me, it comes down to 1) when will they make their play, if they get settled and established with Libra say in a year or so.

2) how they will use their power and influence with the many partners running NODES for facebook involved, to regulate and

try to trip up Bitcoin.

If as everyone on this forum claims that Bitcoin is going to change the world, turn finance upside down, well, there is 'always'

pushback and this is what I see on the horizon. Again, don't think it will work, but I'm damn sure Facebook and others are

going to try and topple Bitcoin as a 'store of value' someday. Indeed, count on it. Sad

Anyway, my guess at the future of this Facebook experiment and this Libra coin.

1327  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Am I screwed? on: July 05, 2019, 02:43:04 AM
I sold at $7550, am I screwed or will it at least go back down to $7500?

Maybe screwed. Sad

I sold 13 BTC at $3,965 USD price and watched it go down to $3,200 or so Bitcoin. Was feeling pretty good I got out at that price when I saw that. Er..not so much now. Sad

I managed to sell some equipment and get 3 BTC back, but I'm 10 BTC down that I will be unlikely ever to recover. Them's the breaks. Bitcoin: You merciless bitch! Smiley

I'd say the odds of Bitcoin going down to say $7,500 are about the same odds as Bitcoin going to over $30K.

Both are longshots indeed.

I only seem to get into trouble with Bitcoin since 2013 when I SELL, you'd think I'd figure it out by now and just go f*ck and go for it.

Triumph or Tulips!

(should be my motto) and then just forget I own Bitcoin for the next 5 years.

So the key here in HODL'ing is to call all this 'excitement' rather than 'stress' on the usual month by month Bitcoin drama of fud/price/fakesatoshi and the usual.

See, whee...exciting Smiley

Ack!

1330  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage on: July 05, 2019, 02:30:16 AM

@paramind22 sia is PoW

and when functional, data storage farming

Will that reward people?  I must be confusing SIA with another coin that isn't POS but not POW which I thought was rewarding
holders for the last couple of years.

Siacoin is earned by renting out your unused hard drive space. You can also mine it using your hard drive.  It doesn't stake and you cant earn more simply by having some.

The catch is getting used and/or new HD's to rent out such space does not count. Not prudent or feasible or practical at all. The amount of space to make anything on siacoin storage

would require you to have an existing data hall and just do this for kicks. In that you already own the hardware and using it for data storage anyway, so why not use the unused space. It

seems that may be more trouble than it is worth at this time in the sia-tech storage universe for even that to be worthwhile.

I've said it before. Much talk of this storage option but very little in the real world, to justify such equipment purchases either used HD's or new HD's to make this feasible at this time.

But a lot more real-world $$$ can be made in the ASIC miner money making by sia-tech (what is it the 7th batch now?). To top that off, even the last of the ASIC miner batches

they are making are for GRIN coin and not siacoin. You add the other leg to the stool that is overbuilt that is the coin itself. Likely, IMHO, for the amount of work done.

The last leg of this 3 legged stool is the siacoin that is out in the world, much more difficult and much more coin than the siacoin storage network could justify even if it was up in full.

Lots of issues. Couple years behind Timeline. The emphasis on making equipment vs promoting the storage aspect of siacoin. Quite frankly, I'm surprised the coin is not 1/5th the

price it is currently. Not looking good IMHO. Not at all. They need to step it up so AT LEAST a hobbyist can make a sia-tech storage HD system out of used or new parts and play with

it and at LEAST make enough money for electricity in (you pay) for storage payments (to your) in (siacoin storage pays). Without that to move things along it looks like to me, full

stagnation for the storage option..the 'supposed' crown jewel of decentralized, everyone, anonymous cloud storage for everyone.

Naw, at the present time, I"m not buying the hype. They are going sideways on this project at best and likely backsliding big time without our full awareness.

my two siacoin of wisdom on this

Brad

I haven't checked out the network adoption statistics recently, do you still lose money on the renting out space aspect? Are they just not marketing towards growing the customer base? I thought it was weird when they went into ASICs and thought, that will really distract from their main goal of growing the number of people storing files on it.

I'd really, really, really like to be proven wrong on all this siacoin and sia-tech drama...

It's a good thing Sia crushed Amazon before the coin collapsed  Cheesy

This shitcoin was actually worth $900 million in May 2018... now $165 million or down 82% in USD, lol...
It's still trading $500,000/day on Binance... so someone must be buying... ya man, looks really cheap  Cheesy

Yeah, I kinda scratch my head....I mean I got in on the ICO when I was hurting on most of it. I bought some at 8-9 bucks (silly me) so Siacoin needs to be about

$1.91 for me to break even in usd. Thus, conflicted. I just don't see the storage option keeping up, now especially with mining equip (switched to grin) and just

the plain old 'speculation'. Indeed Siacoin may be worth a lot less, when the ASIC miner stuff goes away by Sia-Tech. But again, see little progress in the storage

solution they claim to want to push. In no way does it pay to get even used equipment to make an experimental box for such.

Thus I sit on hands and ponder this?

By the By it has been since Jan 31st, 2019 since Sia-Tech promised to pay me back $900 bucks in Bitcoin to the address I specified to them. Ya think maybe they are

stalling?

Again, stuff to ponder?

Looks like maybe thats Quicksys alt account yeah !

Also QS is just spamming the German board with kind of shit !

And now !
Lafu for instance is a meta/reputation/local merit farmer with 0 knowledge on Bitcoin which joined in 2017. To say that he is better than some of the other Legendary applicants it's a joke. I've just pointed at the braindead managers hiring shitposters based on merit without even looking at post history, I can point at this fact regardless of my account status.

1. No Merit Farmer , do your research and homework better maybe !
2 Dont worry about my knowledge about Bitcoin i know more then you for sure !
3 you also lie on the joind date of the forum ! Do you research better !
4 Never said that i am better!

Have a great day , Cheers !

Welcome to the Livecoin Sig Campaign Lafu.

Let me be the first to congratulate you!

Also, as an aside, thanks for my 2nd payment. The OP for this campaign, it is great!

(again, 4th of July and still posting on Bitcointalk...damn, I have issues, must leave computer now!)

edit: er I mean 3rd payment

Just went to buy some sweet corn & localbitcoins are making you verify all your docs again & tell them what your occupation is & reason for buying bitcoin.

If you don’t verify your docs & details before September 1st 2019 you can no longer trade on there.

Edit - Oh & also add another fucking selfie.

Does not apply to me. In 2013 my bank sic'd the SEC on me because ALL Bitcoin was 'drug money'

I proved I was a miner and business with my CPA tax form etc. SEC guy on the voice phone was, Why am I here!

So all hope for me is lost, been legal as F*ck on everything crypto related since. All hope for me is lost.

When they 'come' for me, I'll try to give you all a heads up so you can make a break for it. Myself, all is lost as

far as privacy.

Don't go by this calculator it lists the scam site.

THIS IS A SCAM SITE CALCULATOR HAS FAKE DAYUN LINK:  https://cryptocalc.online/en/miners/dayun-zig-d2?powerCost=0.1&symbol=MONA

Here is the scam site for Dayun. Again THIS IS THE SCAM SITE FOR DAYUN MINERS LINK:  http://www.dayunmining.com/

Again, above is A SCAM SITE AND THE OTHER IS A CALCULATOR THAT LINKS TO SCAM SITE above. You have been warned.

On the other hand, just for reference, what is the LEGIT MANUFACTURER SITE, even if you can't buy from them directly? I'd like to see the site where this is made, even

if I do need to use Google Translate Chinese.

The ONE site I know that is legit that carries Dayun stuff is of course www.eastshore.xyz

They are legit and usually are a bit higher in price, but hey, something.

Doubt I'll get one, but was tooling around the Internet and tripped over the above links that show treachery and scam sites (above) figured I'd post here

later

Brad

THIS IS NOT A SCAM SITE.
We constantly work to make this site better. All links to SCAM SITE (http://www.dayunmining.com/) has been removed.
Thank you for your attention!
Also we want to remove all zero value exchange coins from list to make the profit value more realistic.
Thank you and sorry for that incident.

er...sorry to burst you scammer bubble. But IF this is this site (the calculator site https://cryptocalc.online/en/miners/dayun-zig-d2?powerCost=0.1&symbol=MONA

the above dayunmining.com is still shown..which IS a scam site. Again, if this is what you are refering to the link is still there on the english page.

If again, you are saying the calculaor link,  by your reply. IF SO DON'T READ BELOW THAT APPLIES TO THE SCAMMER SITE IF THAT IS WHAT THIS POST MEANS.

---------------------

If you are refering by your post that the scammer site IS legit with your newbie account I say Bullsh*t!

Dayun site above says it has a 240gh miner. I don't believe it. The site does not support this and there is NO info on this site and equipment of any real note.

This site cropped up 'last year' see the scam site thread on Bitcointalk here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5138450.0

It will take more than a NEWBIE ACCOUNT for folk to fall for this.

You have my email, I threw down a challenge, send me a unit, I'll review it, if it is legit I'll even pay you

the BTC you want on your page (now from 2.3k to 2.8k). But only if it 1) exists and 2) works as advertised. 3) hell even then if group buy I'd likely need escrow

No way, IF YOU ARE LEGIT are you likely to get a toe hold on selling these miners via bitcointalk and the USA proper without some put up or shut up proof.

Look at my profile, I've done escrow for innsilicon group buys before, I have a +22 trust rating, again, you have my email, fill free to pm me here or email me

I get the unit, I review this supposed 240gh unit, I happily eat crow if it works and pay you and then hell..you are off to the races.

But naw, so far it all screams scam, (re-read above why I wasted 5 min of my life replying to this when the odds are the same as if this is legit of me being

Natalie Portman's Love Puppet is beyond me)

Whatever, moving on. (I have no life 4th of July in the USA and I'm playing verbal tag with likely scammers..sheesh...I need a life!)

Welp, since its being delisted from bleutrade, I guess this coin is all but dead.
Guess Im stuck w/ a bag of worthless crypto for a while lol!

Thank you for getting along for a long time. It may be better to sleep for a while. If you wake up, the bag may be filled with gold.  Smiley

Again, I'd convert the FJC to a masternode setup. There are enough FJC stakeholders of say 1 million coins or more that would work.

Again, I'd be likely just mining air to start, but MAYBE you could get some buzz going. As it is now, no action, too expensive to mine with KNC Titans

and NO real reason for an exchange to pick up FJC again. Stuck!

Probably a dumb solution, but any progress is good progress and that is the ONLY thing I can think of that would at least get 'bag hodl'ers of this FJC

to at least play with masternodes and get some action going from their FJC hoards. Might come to nothing, but hell, at least I'd learn how to run a FJC

node at 1 million FJC say a node! A new algo pos wise to do this with away from POW would also generate some noise/interest. Just tossing it out there.

(meh! what do I know)

"ill suited to ordinary consumers"

translation; profits like these are only for the elites

Don't you have fields to plow peasant?  Tax time is coming up.

True. I see a future when BTC price goes (perhaps) parabolic again and again,

then, likely, my descendants will be using that exact same phrase.

"Don't you have fields to plow peasant?  Tax time is coming up."

Is that not how that saying goes? The first generation makes money, 2nd generation maintains money, 3rd generation pisses the money away?

Damn, they will likely be 'assholes', perhaps this future Bitcoin Parabolic wealth should go to my cat? hmmmmm?

I would call journalism a joke except it's not funny either

Bitcoin is the 'perfect' story to sell papers or get web site eyeballs on your web ads.

story 1

Bitcoin is great the 1/2 of the public who think this is true buys into this media...the other half also buys in case they are wrong and bitcoin is a scam!

story 2

Bitcoin is a scam the 1/2 of the public who think this is not true buys into this media...the other half also buys in case they are wrong and bitcoin is a not a scam!

Rinse/Wash/Repeat

The stories 'write' themselves in a good/bad back and forth, easy content, easy money. This will be the case forever.

Also, the more DRAMA like Craig Wright the 'fakesatoshi' the more volatility...the different threads you can branch off for stories on either the great/scam threads above

thus multiplying the eyeballs to your advertisements.

Bitcoin to the news media is ALMOST as good as a cute little war, not quite, but close.

Well, I see zip for scribe on the above. I found out it is 1,000 scribe for a masternode, but have found no exchange in USA offering Scribe for sale.

Just noticed tihs looking around for masternodes and how it works with scribe and other coins.

Anyway, confused, can anyone point me to an exchange a USA guy can get into to at least see some buying and selling of scribe?

thanks

Brad

edit: Interesting that I do a search on masternodes.online and nothing comes up.

What am I missing?

https://masternodes.online/

1) Also US user can use rocket, no KYC needed. I will put some SCRIBE for sell soon
2) masternode onine is expensive for listing, I think 0.1 BTC . So for smaller coins need other website

With the exchange issues and such no frigging way, I'm putting int 0.1 BTC for scribe. Not with the lack of buy/sell action..that would just be silly.

just saying from what I've seen so far with scribe coin.

So if we would make 3 categories

1 bearish

2 sideways

3 bulish

Then prices ? to ? fall in which category  ??

I'd like sideways for a few months at anything over 12k, just to stablize and get some adoption etc. Store of value wise, showing some slow growth IMHO would be nice. Smiley
