1441  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: February 18, 2023, 12:58:38 AM
Yes, this fight is happening, I posted it here first, hehehe.

Anyways, it's good to have a separate thread for this fight, this is for the bantamweight belt so it's deserves one.

And as the majority of you guys see it, we are going to favor our very own Nonito Donaire and his chances are good to win another bantamweight reign. Santiago might be unknown to us, not enough in the top 5, but it doesn't mean that it will be easy for Donaire. Still very hard fight but at the end, the experience of Donaire will be in full display here, how he is going to set up that left hook, coverage of the ring and setting feint and traps to open Santiago and then give us his patented left hook to finish with a knockout.

Yup, no such thing as an easy fight for Donaire now especially at this stage of his career but i could say that this one is very winnable. As usual, Donaire's height or we say, he is the bigger fighter here which could be the biggest advantage of the Filipino Flash. Santiago is 5'2 which i think will give him a hard time to hit Donaire and him vulnerable to that patented counter left hook which could end the fight quickly.

But given Donaire's age, I think I can't really expect that he will struggle to win against Santiago. In Donaire's 38 to 40 years old span, he faces young fights which is not in the same level of performance on Santiago. Donaire KO a young boxer on his prime Reymart Gaballo and faces Inoue with a good performance although only on their first match.

I'm not considering Santiago as a threat but upset can always happened.
Not only a young Reymart Gaballo, but Ouballi, on how he destroys him when they face and you like seeing a prime Donaire, as if he turns back the clock. So it could be end that way, like the smaller fighters that Donaire faces, or at least he has the height advantages, he all knock them down or out cold.

Boxers, like Darchy, Arce, and Montiel. So definitely, we should all look for Donaire scoring a statement knockout.

If not then he might win in the majority of the rounds, dominate Santiago.
1442  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: February 18, 2023, 12:32:18 AM
I agree, it is better for Magsayo to be slick, and quick and must launch a scoring punch rather than a knock-out punch.  This way he can compete against Vargas in scoring.  Besides not putting much of force on the punches can render him more mobile and quick.  He should know when to launch heavy knockout punches and the scoring punches.  Sadly, Magsayo is all brawn and not using his brain during the fight against Vargas.

For sure Magsayo's camp is already aware of those problems. If ever given a chance again to face Vargas, those problems will surely be addressed. Let's also consider the fact that Magsayo isn't really outscored in the match as he won the one judge.

Surely Magsayo has learned a thing or two about Vargas's strength and his weakness especially recently when Foster revealed how to defeat Vargas, although I'm not sure that Magsayo can use that one because they have a different fighting style and Foster is quite slick, that is why Vargas failed in his attempt. This time, Magsayo should level up his game because he will get embarrassed for sure if he didn't learn something from their first encounter.

Magsayo stated the he expected to win that match but decided to respect the judge's decision. It means Magsayo didn't really being overwhelmed by Vargas' strength. Also new to Magsayo's experience fighting against a long reach and much taller compared to him.

Figueroa has the same specifications as Vargas with height advantage and long reach. Magsayo will use his experienced fighting Vargas in his fight against Figueroa.
One difference though is that Brandon is more of a brawler type of boxer, face first and are not afraid to engage his opponents in the middle of the ring or even in the corner. We have seen him in that Fulton fight wherein he narrowly lost.

And if Magsayo is looking for a rematch with Rey Vargas, and so is Figueroa against Fulton. Same mindset of Mark, he thinks he win and he disagree with the judges score. But he can't do anything for now. So this two are looking for a big win in their clash.
1443  Economy / Speculation / Re: What Is Your Bitcoin market speculation for the month on: February 17, 2023, 09:11:23 AM
$25,000 within February is an easy target.
And we already hit 24939 on bybit and most exchanges (almost 25k). This was at 22k yesterday. Who would have imagined such a price increase after a not-so-good cpi data which came just day before yesterday? This time bitcoin even shocked the Americans lol. Remember guys, If it goes above 25.2k, 30k will happen real quick, no stoppage in between.

Yes, the price was a hairline away from hitting $25,000 in many exchanges. I don't know if there was an exchange where Bitcoin actually reached $25,000 but the average price among exchanges was probably below $25,000. Coingecko has it at $24,960.70. In other words Bitcoin has not yet hit the $25,000 mark. Right now it is already in a correction phase. It will probably hit $25,000 and even beyond the next time the price rallies. It could happen any day from now.

It actually did hit $25,000, when I woke up, its about $25,xxx already. But I was surprised that in the next 4 hours, the price suddenly declined way below $23,xxx. And now it has stopped, that is a huge correction though, I thought that we might still go and maintain $24,500- at least because that's where the price is before the sudden $25,000 jump.

Now, we are back lower than what we have in 48 hours. So let's see, I'm still positive that we are still in the bullish phase this February and I wouldn't be surprised to see the price going back again to $25,000 and higher.
Most likely they have sell orders at $25k, and so when the price was hit, they are liquidated instantly causing a huge fall to $23k. But there is nothing to be scared of or something, the market seems to be on the bullish side, so most likely this month $25k will be touch again.

Attempts after attempts and then we will stable at that price and then goes on again maybe this March. That's how I see the market right now, so I'm still feeling bullish this February and it will still continue till March.
1444  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Devin Haney vs Vasiliy Lomachenco - May 20 on: February 17, 2023, 08:31:44 AM
^ Not sure why Bernard Hopkins throw that on Bill Haney, but it's true, the older Haney has been put to jail when he was younger for crimes and this is one reason why he almost not made it to his son first fight in Australia because the Victorian government is strict with regards to individual entering their country with prior convictions in the US.

Regarding the money, you can't compare era's, maybe in this era Hopkins because a great middle weight champion would have earn a lot more in his career in the past.

They are just doing it for recognition because most of them are not being mentioned nowadays. Still, Haney has done great all these years and his performance is at his own best. That's why he always gets this kind of statement whether from the old era or now. His fight will gonna be a real challenge for him since his opponent is not some common boxer and can really give him hard time this time. Also, his clean record is eager to reach even numbers that will gonna give him more motivation for winning.

Yes, Haney as a young age has accomplished a lot, winning all the belts against Kambosos, that is already a huge accomplishment for him. There is no need to compare him to Hopkins or whoever it is, its from a old era.

There are haters in any sports, even Lebron does have a lot of haters even if he is the best right now surpassing KAJ record.

Boxers have their own history and destiny.  I believe it is ok to compare boxers but imposing one achievement to others is somehow rough.  They have their own time and own environment.  One accomplishment can't be another.  So just compare their accomplishment but don't bash if the other one fall short.

Quote
So just let it be, he should be just thinking of beating Loma next in his fight, that's it.

I agree Haney should be focusing on his incoming fight against Loma or else he would find himself slipping away from his title if he doesn't focused on his next fight.
Of course, boxers have their own history and destiny, there are good boxers in the amateurs but turns out to be a complete failure in professional. As for imposing one's achievement, I think that is comparing already, at least for me that's how I understand it.

Boxers are going to bash each other no matter what, just like what Hopkins or at least his attacks to Devin's father and so he has the right to response and show what his son has accomplished as compare to Bernard.
1445  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: February 17, 2023, 08:08:42 AM
^^ I think Jack Catterall and Josh Taylor can still fight in the future if they are going to win their respective fight. And I think both has a tougher opponents, Teo Lopez might be a good test for Josh Taylor and even if he become the odds favorite, it will be close.

Prograis is a champion and so no easy fight for Jack Catterall. But I wouldn't be surprised if Regis won on a the judges scorecard against Jack here. I think Prograis has the tools to beat Catterall.

They can surely meet each other someday but the point is, Jack Catterall should have only the right to fight Josh Taylor next and no one else. Their first meeting is too close that it needs a rematch right away but the injury got it temporarily delayed. Jack is even willing to wait until Taylor is eligible to fight.

Because of the sudden turn of events, Jack now needs to face another challenge before having a fight again with Taylor.

The worst thing that can happen is, it's not even sure that Jack will face Taylor next, for let's say they have won both their respective fights.
Boxing politics I guess, when Taylor is injured, Jack should still be the priority when he comes back. But Bob Arum has other plans and they skipped the challenger all together and then inserted their own stable fighters in Teo Lopez.

Jack might be really feeling mad about the situation, but he can't do anything. So he decided to still chase another championship belt against Regis Prograis. And if by chance he won, they call out Josh Taylor for their rematch.

Hey guys! Anybody else think Kevin Love would join the Lakers, after the Cavs buyout?
I think he's a good addition to the current Laker roster. A big man with a good shooting percentage and a good rebounder too. Though the Lakers was playing great against
No.

I mean the Lakers now has players that can fill what Love's position is. He's more of a Power Forward and the Lakers have it already. Vanderbilt, Hachimura, Gabriel, Bamba can be if they have a center in the court, Lebron can fill it as well. If he will join to the Lakers, he will just get benched out there. It would be better if other teams will get him, but not the Lakers. Team that is lacking on wing position. He can still be a good role player with his age.

Did a quick search on what teams might be interested in getting Kevin Love, and the teams that are interested, or he can be a good fit on are the Pelicans, Thunder, Kings, Warriors and the Suns.
https://cavsnation.com/cavs-rumors-pelicans-thunder-interested-kevin-love
https://fansided.com/2023/02/16/kevin-love-playoff-contenders/
I just hope that Kevin Love can land on team that will utilized him, more than the Cavs is doing before. And with that, Lakers is not a good team for him as you have said, there are a lot of players that has the power forward position. So he has to rub shoulders with those young players for some quality minutes in the floor. He shows his intention to be in Portland because that's where he grows up, so not bad team for him if ever has the chance to go to.

Bucks though continue their winning streak with a win against the struggling Bulls.

It amplifies the need for investors to do their complete research before investing in newly launched projects. Even the person you had been admiring or following on social media platforms can be just promoting a scam. So apply some common sense next time instead of blindly following the expert financial advice of these gurus. Another platform, where this abuse frequently happens is YouTube where creators promote number of fake projects.
This is an opener to would-be investors by avoiding this kind of trick imbibed by scammers, imagine investors having confidence  on the personality of the promoter of the said investment unknowingly its fake and Scam, the fact remain that research is the best means of exposing these dubious act of these scammers else new investors will continue to fall for this trick, of course personally I am aware that there are several new methods devised by those fraudulent scammers to scam people, it had been on Twitter for long therefore diligence and public awareness will expose them.
For new investors? yeah, this is a good opener for them not to blindly trust or listen to any influencer as they might be part of a bigger scamming group. But for those who have been hear long enough specially 2017-2018, they know this trick already and learn the lessons not be scam.

And it's really good for us that there are still people around the crypto sphere that is helping us exposing this kind of fraud personality. I know it's hard to believed it sometimes, but that's a fact, everyone is after the money here to be frank and they will do everything to make them millionaires instantly.
1448  Economy / Speculation / Re: What Is Your Bitcoin market speculation for the month on: February 16, 2023, 12:04:00 PM
Since the beginning of the year 2023 bitcoin has shown some positive outlook in terms of price recovery compared to the previous years 2022, when bitcoin struggled all through the year trying to sustain its price from dipping to a significantly low level when Bitcoin dip down to as low as $16k.
-But the 2023 has brought in a new market wave and hope for recovery of the market price, this has brought some air of relief to bitcoin holders and the price has recovered back to $24,400+ at the moment.
-This new price recovery has opened the door to for new speculations on the benchmarks Bitcoin will touch in this month of February, just as it did in January-February.
What are your markets predictions for the month?
1: Do you think BTC will break the $25k benchmarks in this month even though there will be a lot of pullback and resistance knowing fully well how close we are to 25k at the moment?
There is a huge chance that we can break the $25k barrier, we are almost there, $24,400-$24,600. The only question is how we are going to look at it, are we going to sustain it or not?

2 What are the variables to consider in making future uptrend predictions?
Good and positive news in the market, such as the CPI statement from Feds. I think it's one of the prime movers, because every statement they have to make, the market moves with it, whether positive or negative. Not only crypto but the rest of traditional market.
1449  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports betting fraud in Brazil 😦 on: February 16, 2023, 10:18:16 AM
Match fixing is an issue mainly in developing countries. Most of it is organised by mafia that also involves in drug trade, illegal weapon trade etc. This type of things never get old. Its very hard to avoid match fixing if your country permits completely legal sports betting options. I don't call for them making it illegal but sometimes its impossible to detect. I am pretty sure this match fixing issue happened in Brazil is only visible side of "iceberg". Noone knows what happens at other side, in deep.

Not only on developing country but everywhere. Only match fixing is always being caught from developing country since they are easy to spot and their players is doing it too obvious for the money. I believe there’s a lot of same issue in EU that involves match fixing on sports. Big time mobs is behind this kind of operation and they are everywhere.
Not the first and obviously not be the last to here this kind of match fixing.

And since the sports involves a lot of personalities, from team owners to managers to coach and player themselves, there is some disconnect somewhere that we didn't know that match fixing has been involved if there is no whistle blower.

Recently even in the World Cup there are accusations as well with match fixing so this is not new and could be rampant in the sports of football.

Another triple-double for Nikola Jokic 14 points 13 rebounds 10 assists. That's the 97th triple-double in his career in a victory against the Dallas Mavericks. Big help from Jeff Green dominating the paint with 24 points, it's his night, and the player of the game.
That's it for them, finishing strong before the long All-Star break.
Luka Doncic 37 points, 9 assists, 4 rebounds. They are shorthanded without Kyrie Irving and Tim Hardaway. Also their last game and a long rest.

Finally, the Nets got their win after the big trade that happened. This is the first win for both Cam Johnson and Mikal Bridges being Nets. It surely didn't take long and they had an explosive night. Johnson with 18 points and Bridges with a freaking 45 points! A monster game and a career-high for him to snatch a win against the Miami Heat.
Yes, it's really more of a win base on the trade, Cam Johnson and Mikal Bridges could be the new franchise look for the Nets + Nic that will be great.

And it just solidify Jokic and Luka as forefront for the MVP race with this kind of performance. Luka though might have the advantage since the Nuggets are on the top of the standing. And we also have Tatum and Giannis and Joel Embiid for the MVP race that could be very close.

Big win by the Lakers as well against the Pelicans.

I think introducing crypto currency into any of our personal blogger page will be a welcome development, because we can tell our follower's more about crypto currency in the way that can understand more about the bitcoin investment platform where we have our owned group on different social media platform taking this to our blog can help reach people in the rural areas for them to know more about crypto space in the global world today
Yeah, why not, it's someone has a personal blog or something then it's good to introduce bitcoin to his audience to at least educate them and know what bitcoin is. But don't expect something big though, I mean it's just your little help for the world to know what it is and the benefits.

Let the imagination of your audience play and maybe they will invest, maybe not.

At least you do your part spreading the world and that is good already. Don't force or blame yourself if they are not going to invest or buy bitcoin.
1453  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 15, 2023, 08:33:16 AM
Giannis and Jrue Holiday went off for the Bucks tonight. If they’re playing like that I don’t think any team in the league can beat them. Tonight they got the better of the Celtics in overtime. The Clippers were able to beat the Warriors with Steph. Fox played great for the Kings but it wasn’t enough to beat the Suns. When KD comes back that is going to be one hell of a team.
It was a win, but it was in OT for the Bucks, and they almost lost to a Celtics team who doesn't have their star players like Tatum, Smart and Jalen Brown. The Bucks should have blown them up in the beginning, but they allow the Celtics to almost break their winning streak.

If not for Holiday's clutch 3 in the OT and then Giannis getting the steal and sinking both free throws, it might be a different outcome, just saying.

Do you mean the Clippers beat the Warriors without Steph in the lineup? Curry is still sideline.
1454  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Know your limit on: February 15, 2023, 01:19:31 AM
Avoid ending up like a friend, who used all the money he has to invest in bitcoin and also took a loan, promising the lender that he will pay back when he gets paid in a month, after a month he never received the salary, I warned him doing this, because he has no doubt mixed investment with 'whatever it takes', is it safe to call this greed? I don't know.

Now he wants me to lend him some money to at least pay the loaner back and later settle me, there is more, now I have to send him some money to buy some food.

You don't have to use all your money to invest, even if you are not married yet or have other responsibilities, the best approach when planning to invest in Bitcoin is to buy with some percentage of the money you earning, maybe through business or a job.

If you do this weekly or monthly you won't feel any pressure, always remember that health is wealth.

I know that he is your friend, but you have to set limits as well. I don't know if your friend knows the old adage in bitcoin invest,

"Invest what you can afford to lose".

If not then you have to remind him that. But if you want to stick with him, it's up to you, but you should advise him on what to do and not just rely on your good deeds as a friend, just saying.
1455  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 14, 2023, 05:35:48 PM
How about the Bucks with 10 winning streaks already. They are not getting enough attention just because they didn't move at the trading deadline.
Sure, they got Jae Crowder and they attempted to get Fred VanVleet of the Raptors but they are actually a team that doesn't need a reconstruction.
The consistency of Giannis Antetokounmpo is all they need and they are no doubt to win their games.
But later, they will be up against one of their greatest rivals, the Boston Celtics. Although one of their duo Jaylen Brown will not play, they are not to be underestimated especially White who had been racking up points to help them win. I will absolutely not miss this game.
And if we have noticed, those top teams, the Bucks and the Celtics and even the Nuggets didn't get any move in this trade and that is why the are on the top of the game.

Bucks though is the favorite, a huge one as far as the odds goes, not sure why the line is like that, maybe it's because some of the Celtics players are injured and this is a game away from home for them. But who knows, this could be a trap for bettors, so let's see.
1456  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers theory on BEGINNERS LUCK. on: February 14, 2023, 04:26:32 PM
I assume most gamblers are aware of the saying. The popular theory on beginners luck. But to some extent most people don't believe that their is such thing as beginners luck. I certainly to some extent believe on this because i experienced mine in the first time i tried dog racing in a local casino house am gambling with. I had a massive win of about of 800$ at my first stake on dog number 4 which was having a high odd for them winning and i was very happy but the cashier told me "you just had beginners luck ".
But my second thoughts on this was that, its like a trap set for newcomers into the gambling world  Grin . Some gamblers certainly get overwhelmed by the first time win and go all in the habit of gambling.
So whats your take on this guys
Not sure sure if there is a what we call a gamblers luck, but for sure at one point in time, when we start to gamble, we had experience this kind of phenomena and yes, it really feels good to win a huge amount of money at the start and then it becomes a thing to us gamblers. We started to chase this kind of feeling again, so we gamble what we have won and later on, we lost. But still we will continue playing and then the habit has kick-off, we began to slowly become a compulsory gambler and then an addicted one.

It could be bad for Monero to switch to PoS, PoW has been their bread and butter for being a privacy centric coins, if they move on that algorithm they will lost everything in my opinion.

So for me, it's a bad move for Monero, they don't have a good image in the first place. Government are regulators are trying to break down them. And so if they move to PoS, it themselves that are going to kill this project.
1458  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Eimantas Stanionis vs Vergil Ortiz Jr - April 29 on: February 14, 2023, 10:48:04 AM
Let me be the first to comment on this one, this is a dangerous fight for Stanionis, no doubt that Ortiz Jr has the power based on his record of 100% ratio. But I think if Eimantas will have a good strategy to counter Ortiz and his chin holds against the power, he has a good chance to win, and win it on the judges score card. Both are motivated though, and I agree that this might go on a back and forth war and could be the first big welterweight fight this year. Spence vs Thurman is at 154 lbs, so that is not a real welterweight fight and even there are no belts on the line.
1459  Economy / Speculation / Re: Enough? on: February 14, 2023, 10:10:26 AM
0.1 BTC good enough or not.

0.1BTC may not be worth much at current prices but if you can hold it for years when each bitcoin is worth 500k or 1 million then your 0.1BT C is well worth it. And during that holding period, you can accumulate even more. It doesn't matter how much or how little BTC, what matters is how long you can hold it.
lol , not worth much? let me ask you this, do you even have 0.1 bitcoin in your pocket/wallet? if not then till us how come that it is not worth much?

0.1BTC is already big amount for many of us , and  specially if you are a holder? surely you will manage to gain thousands or even million once Bitcoin reached its peak price.

for me? i am contented with my holding now , and waiting for a perfect time to sell out .

At current prices, 0.1 BTC would be equivalent to more than 2k dollars, which would also be a huge amount if we were in 3rd world countries with low living costs. But according to what he said, it doesn't have much value at the moment and will be very valuable if bitcoin hits 500k or 1 million dollars in the future. He doesn't say it won't be of great value in the future. I think we should know enough with what we have, more or less it is our money.
I think if we are going to look at it, at the current price of $20k, and if by chance in the next bull run the price goes to $100k, so that will be a good amount in 2024-2025. His 0.1 BTC might be worth $10k and that is a lot of money in a 3rd world country. And if he goes and hold on it till the next bull run, who knows, $500k-$1 million is possible so the returns is good for him. So really up to us on how we are going to earn and save BTC and how long are we going to hold on it, minimum or maximum years to hold before we sell them.

Right, and for those who haven't seen the fight, here are the highlights of the fight:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=voIiJWRqSJk

As I have said, you can see how slick the style of Foster is, typical African-American stance made famous by Floyd, the Philly shell. And it's hard to crack it, only few boxers have known how to fight against that stance.

Yes, and again, with this lost by Vargas, it's more intriguing the Magsayo vs Figueroa outcome. And both have seen what happen to Vargas and they know that he will go down to their weight class to insert him name. Nevertheless he is the current champion so both will have no choice but to fight Vargas.
Foster has a same reach like Vargas, so Vargas can't use his reach advantage like when he was fight Magsayo. Magsayo is very hard to reach Vargas since his hand is shorter, Vargas can easily duck it. I think Vargas is to late to change his stance, he always got punched in his right face, until sixth or seventh round he's realized about that.

If Magsayo will have a rematch with Vargas, it's better for him to being more aggressive and quick rather than looking to knocking out Vargas.
I think it's really a nightmare match-up for Magsayo if he will rematch Vargas (assuming that he will win against Figueroa). Magsayo is not a technical fighter, and Vargas weakness is a fighter that is slick like Foster.

So he will have a lot of adjustments to make in order to win against Vargas.

Both could be motivated though, Vargas trying to bounce back from a lot, and then Magsayo avenging his defeat and the belt.
