1481  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Figueroa vs Magsayo WBC Interim Featherweight Title (March 4) on: February 04, 2023, 04:19:25 AM
I suggest you watch Figueroa vs Fulton and see the work rate of Brandon:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2YfRYixUEj4

But he is moving up to 126 lbs and fighting a natural featherweight, so this fight is really very interesting and hard to see who is going to win. Magsayo is coming off from a big lost against Rey Vargas and the same with Figueroa against Fulton. So they really need to win here to get back on track to become another wold champion.

Thanks for the video bro  Smiley.

Figueroa is a volume puncher and the work rate is amazing but the question now going into this fight against Magsayo is if he could bring that work rate and power to the Featherweight division which is the natural weight of Magsayo, that's what makes this fight 50-50 for me.

As we can see on the last fights of Figueroa, he is a slow starter so i think Magsayo should exploit this weakness and attack early to get the KO or at least filed up points so that if this will go the distance, he could win by decision.

Figueroa being a volume puncher can put Magsayo into a disadvantage.  If Magsayo failed to KO Figueroa I think, the hardworking and volume punch of Figueroa will enable him to win the fight.  Magsayo often have problem with his stamina and often time fell short of breath even before the fight end.  So if Magsayo failed to fix this problem, for sure Figueroa can dominate the later part of the fight while Magsayo is having trouble keeping up due to stamina issue.
That's only what I'm thinking, if that workrate continue to throughout the fight and Magsayo can't find that one single punch to KO Figueroa, then it will be a hard fight for Mark and he might get the tail end of the judges scoring.

On the other hand, if Figueroa keeps coming into Magsayo and somewhat Magsayo time him perfectly, like in the Ceja fight, then he will definitely be scoring a knockout, and doesn't need to go to the judges. So I guess it depends on Magsayo, he might control the fight in the beginning, if he could do that, the better for him.
1482  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: February 04, 2023, 04:01:47 AM

I'm not going to give up on Nadal yet, we all know he's getting kind of old and injuries affect tennis players a lot since it's a one player game, but he's not the type of player to give up easily, he had his downs throughout his career and bounced back, I'm expecting him to win a couple of big tournaments before he retires, if his body doesn't bring him down, the mentality to win will always be there with El Matador.
me too - for me Nadal has always been a legend to me.
YOu are right he would not give up that easily - but that too is true -sometime the injuries are fatal and they kick off the players off their career.
Nadal comes back to form, but we can't expect him to perform same as his past days. He's a never give up attitude person, but his injuries keeps on hurting and at times when he's on the progression once again something hurts. He's a good player, but the emerging young ones are giving hard fight. Somehow Spanish players are getting to be on the top players like Carlos Alcaraz, Pablo Carreno Busta and Roberto Bautista Agut are in great form.
We can say that Spanish tennis will be good once Nadal retired as they have found a gem in Carlos Alcaraz. Nevertheless, I think Nadal can still compete and maybe win some tournaments and his favorite Grand Slam for this year.

He just need to focus and let his body heal and be selective of tournaments that he will enter. It might be good for him to have a tune up match prior to the French Open, to loosen up and gauge his body to the grueling Grand Slam that he is the best as no one can touch the number of wins he got in that surface.
1483  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Your successes over the past 5 years on: February 03, 2023, 09:21:50 AM
Your successes over the past five years: How well have you managed to increase the balance on your account during this time? Or have you lost everything? Tell me your story.

It's not just cryptocurrency that unites us all. We all became different after we learned about her, and went deeper into her knowledge. And now, even if someone is not very lucky to increase their deposit, then you probably have accumulated experience, and you can share it.
I would say it's a fruitful for me in the last 5 years in crypto, specially in bull run wherein you will really profit big if you know how to save (just like today, as we are still in the bear market). And what able to provide food for my family besides from my usual 9-5 office job.

For sure majority of us here profit big money as well. There were even some who quit their job and focus on crypto.

But for me, I can't do that, I will still have to have a job, a regular one, because I have said, in crypto we have bears and bulls, so it won't be the same every time and not consistent money flowing in.
1484  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin 2023, Bullish or Bearish? on: February 03, 2023, 08:39:56 AM
Bullish till June, then bearish till the next winter.

why
2023 is almost exactly like 2019 if you look at the charts. BTC back in 2019 pumped till June (@13k) and then it went down to 4-5k in March 2020.
It's because of Covid-19 that time, the first time it was reported to the world or at least the lockdown for most countries started around that time frame and so the effect on us is huge.

There's a chance the 2023-2024 winter will be really harsh in Europe (unlike the current mild winter), which could potentially spur a new crisis (akin to COVID/March 2020 meltdown) if LNG reserves are depleted...
I think that's two different scenario, Covid is global while it might be hard weather in Europe because of snow, I don't think it will have a drastic effect on the other part of the globe.

Either way, I believe 2023-2024 will be an excellent period for accumulation/DCA (if you're into that). 5-digit BTC is considered cheap. 4-digit BTC is a thing of the past, we'll never see that again.

By 2025 Bitcoin's price will have risen to 6 digits, so I would stop BTC purchases by late 2024 (just before the US elections and FED's new climate-driven QE).
Still a lot of time for us to accumulate and buy through DCA and any other strategy that fits our goal.

6 digits might just be a conservative estimates, there are predictions to $200k or more, but just like the rest of predictions, it's just wild and educated guess (with the help of TA).
1485  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: February 03, 2023, 04:22:30 AM
He didn't look good during his comeback fight against Josesito Lopez, already won that fight, he took a lot of damage, then Manny beat him, didn't impressed us against Mario Barrios. And with this version of Spence Jr, really hard for Thurman to deliver an upset win.

Keith Thurman after being defeated by Manny Pacquiao seems like the end of the world to him. After being defeated, don't know why he shows inactivity in boxing (honestly even in training). Yes, he did a comeback fight though but even winning at those, that's not the prime Keith Thurman on his usual.

Regardless though of his current status, I'm not closing the door for the possibility that he might give Spence a problem - fingers crossed.

If end up on Decision, the bad news is waiting for Thurman even though he performed well in this fight. The reason is obvious.
It's probably more on mental thing for him, I mean leading to the fight, he really trash talk Manny Pacquiao, even calling saying that he has a T-Rex arms and other insults and in face-off you see that he wanted to take control.

And then he gets knock down and lost the fight. And then the backlash from boxing analyst, he was at some point becoming the laughing stock in boxing. They question his mental toughness and how can he loss to a 40 year old past prime Manny? And after that it was a different Thurman, just like Hatton, seems to be affected psychologically and not the same anymore after that defeat.
1486  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Artur Beterbiev vs Anthony Yarde on: February 03, 2023, 03:04:30 AM
Artur Beterbiev successfully defends his title against Anthony Yarde.

The early rounds were tough for both boxers and Yarde is able to keep up with Beterbiev. He was even able to connect some good shots on Beterbiev. But the champion is always a champion and after being fairly outscored at some point, he came out aggressive in 4th round and that's where the trouble on Yarde started.

I thought Yarde, that fully turned serious during the period of his training, will last a whole fight but ended up short.

He's quite lucky because his camp decided to stop the fight before Yarde mops the ring with his face and somehow, I'm confidently sure that Yarde is now embarrassed after all the talks that he did, all those big boy words from him saying that he can literally take-on Artur Beterbiev who got a flawless record with a non-stop KO streak.

I reckon the fight was already decided from 5th round onwards because Yarde was taking much damage and already having troubles to breath thus, he was very different from what we saw from him in the first 3-4 rounds where he's well composed and seems like he can really manage.

Yes, I have to agree with you. After Yarde's impressive moves in the early rounds, Beterbiev comes out and unleashes the beast inside him.

From 5th round, Yarde might get shocked after noticing the change in Beterbiev's performance, and that resulted in him crashing his focus and ability to execute their plan during their training session.

Beterbiev is really a tough monster at that weight and I hope that no mandatory challenge will be given to him anymore.

Instead, he should fight Bivol as no other boxer in that division is a best match for Beterbiev.
Beterbiev has also a different mindset, as compare to Yarde. I mean he keeps on grinding eventhough he says post fight that Yarde punch is hard and he had felt it. But he keeps on coming and although Yarde was very successful early, Beterbiev didn't see that instead he still believed in himself that he can knockout this big dude in front of him. And then Yarde's run out of gas as observe by @inthelongrun which is a bad sign for a boxer. It means that he has difficulty in breathing. And we all says that Yarde's problem is that he gas out in later round which could have been the case here again.
1487  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 03, 2023, 02:03:36 AM
The All-Star Reserves for 2022-2023 NBA All-Star has been released. These are the reserves from both East and West.

New names in the All-Star game like Haliburton, Markannen, Sabonis, SGA and JJJ. TBH, there are many snubs with this one. Brunson? Edwards? Fox? Where are they? I mean they're better than most of the reserves out there numbers-wise right?
That's always been the case every All-Star, you will see surprised players in the rotation, last year the biggest surprised is GSW Wiggins, other question why is he even on an All-Star game. But he proved himself worth after the break and then help the Warriors win another NBA ring.

Same with the snubs, maybe Brunson and others doesn't have the fan base to push their names on the list.

But they shouldn't be bothered by it and just play harder.
1488  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Nonito Donaire vs Jason Moloney on: February 02, 2023, 01:55:25 PM
Update:

Jason Moloney has withdraw from this fight, so this fight is cancelled.

Quote
“The WBC has received confirmation from Top Rank that [Moloney] will not be fighting for The WBC bantamweight title,” WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman confirmed to the teams for both boxers via official letter, a copy of which was obtained by BoxingScene.com. “With this letter the process of [Moloney] vs Donaire is hereby cancelled."

https://www.boxingscene.com/jason-moloney-top-rank-no-longer-pursue-wbc-title-nonito-donaire-awaits-next-named-opponent--172190

Too bad for Moloney to not have a chance for the belt because of the 'war' between his promoter Top Rank and Nonito's Probellum.

Because Bob Arum thinks that the company, Probellum has ties with Irish Mob boss Daniel Kinahan. So let's see what route Donaire will take in order to have another belt in his waist.
This doesn't sound good. We're all expecting that Moloney will have no problem on this one. Who's going to be the potential match-up then if Moloney is already out for the match? Too much politics we've got nowadays even in the high ranking officials inside the big boxing organizations and promotions.

Yes many expect that fight because somehow this is good match up since it can determine on who among them is best fighter after they got defeated by Inoue. But since Moloney withdraw well this doesn't sounds very well on fans of Moloney and Donaire. For sure Donaire's camp will seek for replacement and well lets wait for the update about who will be their next target so hopefully they can get another good fight since fans expect more better from Donaire and his potential opponent.
More likely from the fans of Moloney since they are the one backing down from this good match.

Donaire has stood his ground regarding this fight in the convention and he says that Moloney and his camp had agreed to fight. But later on, Moloney has a change of heart and then it was known that Bob Arum doesn't like to work with Donaire's promoter.

Yes, it is obvious that Donaire will seek another opponent as a replacement for the title fight.
1489  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Caleb Plant vs David Benavidez on: February 02, 2023, 01:19:13 PM
So it seems like the winner of Plant-Benavidez is not getting a shot at Canelo Alvarez. As per Eddie Hearn's latest updates, Canelo is determined to take revenge on Dmitry Bivol right after his fight with John Ryder. And since Ryder-Canelo is a WBO mandatory and the Canelo-Bivol is a rematch clause activated, the Benavidez-Plant winner cannot request the WBC to strip Canelo of his belt in favor of the interim champ. Canelo remains the biggest cash cow in boxing anyways and he might also get VIP treatments on sanctioning bodies. Canelo and the WBC also blocked us fight fans to see a possible Beterbiev-Bivol unification for the undisputed belts at light-heavyweight.

Eddie Hearn updates on Canelo Alvarez’s plans, Terence Crawford, Bivol vs Beterbiev, Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury, more
Might be bad for us boxing fans, but at least if Benavidez won and then Canelo 'ducking' him, then it's not going to be there problem and could probably fight for the interim belt next, or this fight could be sanction as such.

So in any case Canelo will be ready and still be the champion, then maybe he can give Benavidez his chance.

All roads to Canelo though, as you have said, he is the cash cow and all boxing body are giving him a huge favor by not forcing him to fight his mandatory.
1490  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: February 02, 2023, 12:09:34 PM
118 lbs division is going to see a lot of fights for this year as Inoue has vacated all the belts.

And for Filipino fans out there, there are 3 in the hunt for the either of the 4 belts, Astrolabio, Gaballo and of course Nonito Donaire. Each will fight for the belt no doubt about it.

Vincent Astrolabio-Emmanuel Rodriguez was ordered already by the IBF

Donaire vs Moloney by WBC although Moloney show intention not to pursue the fight. So Donaire will have to look for someone to fight for the WBC

Moloney though might look for Reymart Gaballo for WBO belt.

So it's going to be exciting for Filipino boxing fans once more as we could add another champion in the list before the end of the year.
(Worst case scenario, 3 of them lost,  Angry)
Well, that's a missing match for Donaire and we've thought that everything's all set but yup, Moloney has to agree first and it seems that his plans aren't in line with what Nonito is trying to aim.
We'll be cheering for all of the Pinoy boxers and we're just here to support whoever is going to be their opponents.
Still not a missed for Donaire as he can still fight the next in the rank if I'm not mistaken. It's more on Moloney side, but the can target the other organizations belt as he is also a ranked boxer in them. And maybe it will be good for him because he won't be facing the Filipino Flash and could be facing less experience boxers.

I think it's a good move for either, chase separate boxer and get the job done.

As for the Pinoys, yeah its good that they are in the ranking in the bantamweight but they did to do a good job because this division is very tough. Even without Inoue already.
1491  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 02, 2023, 11:48:06 AM
One more week before the trade deadline, some teams should be moving if they are still aiming for the playoffs.
Quote
There has been a steady stream of rumors coming out of Atlanta in recent weeks, mostly about the status of forward John Collins. But while the Hawks haven't been able to find many suitors for Collins, their phone has been ringing off the hook about Bogdan Bogdanovic. Per Sam Amick, "half the league" has been calling the Hawks to gauge the possibility of a deal.

Half the league badly needs a shooter and Bogdan is one hell of one if given the opportunity. Right now, the Hawks are filled with outside shooters like Trae, Murray, Hunter, and Bogdan. Maybe that's why they are being targeted to trade him. But what do the Hawks need? I don't think they are lacking on skilled players but it's only the plays that are having issues.
I agree with that, they have been in the playoffs many times and they always win the first round.
They have upgraded their roster when they added Murray, I believe he will be a big factor in the playoffs, in case they'll trade Collins, I think their roster will not be affected that much, probably they'll improve.
It depends on who's player they will get in return for Bogdan, if I remember correctly, they also have a good shooting in Huerter that they give up last year and yet the team didn't change that much although they got Murray but his impact is not that big as it is expected.

Collins? that is a bad move because they don't have any big guy if they traded him.

Although you can't do anything if Collins want out of the Hawks. But he is a huge part of the team, him and Young already build chemistry together throughout the years they been team mates.
1492  Economy / Speculation / Re: what now ? on: February 02, 2023, 01:52:39 AM
Well you might have missed the bottom at $15,500. But in any case still a goo price to invest, projection for the next bull run is 6 digits, $100k-$200k so you can still make a good profit if you invest right now.

The problem with all those who were waiting for the "bottom" is that various "experts" predicted $10k-12k, and the current price does not quite match what they expected, so many now have doubts like the OP. I can understand someone's hesitation if they want to invest a lot of money and maybe buy 0.5 BTC or more, but most of those who waited for the right moment invest several tens or hundreds of $ and actually will not save any significant amount in such calculations.

Right, it's really hard to time the bottom specially for those who are listening to this so called 'experts'.

When we reach $17,500, they said it's the bottom already, and then FTX fiasco surfaces pushing the price to $15,500. But if it OP bought at this price, just might be matter of months to see his investment double if we are going to continue with this bull run to $30k.

Again, not too late to invest for me as I'm looking at 6 digits as the next ATH.
1493  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hydra Event to boost Cardano Price? on: February 01, 2023, 09:16:38 AM
how does this boost ADA's price though? (the stablecoin)
Perhaps it was the hype that might push the ADA's price in the future. We all know that everything here is based on hype and ADA is already a solid project to begin with.

And now with their supposedly stablecoin joining the competition, maybe in the beginning it will boost its price specially as we are approaching the next bull run in 2024-25. So yeah, ADA is still a good coin to invest, to be honest, this project is one of the best that I did put my money in 2018 and I was happy for the profits that I got. So the same strategy for me, invest as much as I can in this project and look for long term.
1494  Economy / Speculation / Re: what now ? on: February 01, 2023, 08:27:49 AM
Bitcoin is very bullish at the moment ,
what you guys think , it's a short term rally or beginning of bull market
or I missed the bottom
i am something less active so ,
Want some updates

Well you might have missed the bottom at $15,500. But in any case still a goo price to invest, projection for the next bull run is 6 digits, $100k-$200k so you can still make a good profit if you invest right now.

But I will say that we are still in the bear market. Probably is just just some recovery that we are seeing and maybe the next stop for the price is $25 k. And then maybe we will see if there is a correction (most likely), to around $20k again before moving to the next price level of $30k-$50k at the end of the year.
1495  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Being Lonely drives you towards Gambling....! on: February 01, 2023, 03:34:12 AM
Well, gambling has a psychological side too, and being lonely can make us depressed, and depression with gambling is two things that never should be mixed because we will lose all if we play under that condition.

And being only also gives us a feeling that we can lose all without affecting others, but that doesn't happen if we have a couple or a family, the fact that we have to hold something for them in case things becomes bad make us play it more in a smart way.
Loneliness gives space to engage in any kind of activities. As said it has got emotional part, when we fail to control our emotions it'll end up in win or loss. Here it is a loss and the situation of OP is worse. Losses at such situations will easily lead to depression, and one should take into consideration different factors before gambling. As suggested keeping the fund for the family and playing with the rest is the right way. Even if triggered we should have the self control.
Yes, but in this case, he gave in the the calling of playing his hard earn money into gambling. And the sad part, is that he lost everything in the end. And yes, it could lead to him thinking of depositing more money instead of just holding it up because he has some kind of emergency.

Hopefully that will not be the case for him here, and hope that he learn his lessons the expensive way.

The next time he goes on a feeling of loneliness, then don't gamble and just be strong.
1496  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 01, 2023, 01:26:55 AM
Let's make a fun poll, we haven't changed it for a while.

When will LeBron pass Kareem?

Feb. 4: at New Orleans Pelicans
Feb. 7: vs. Oklahoma City Thunder
Feb. 9: vs. Milwaukee Bucks
Feb. 11: at Golden State Warriors
Feb. 13: at Portland Trail Blazers

https://www.nba.com/news/lebron-james-scoring-tracker

I went with the Bucks.  I think it makes a lot of sense for LeBron to pass Kareem at home and on TV.  That game will be at Staples Center and it will also be televised on TNT so you can believe it will be a spectacle on TV.  It also gives LeBron enough padding to where he can make it so he easily is able to score enough points so that it can be well planned for all the festivities.  I think the earlier games would mean LeBron has to keep performing at a crazy level, which judging from him taking last night off, I don't think he wants to do for this record.  So keep February 9th free to watch TNT, because that's when I say he breaks it.  Smiley
I also voted for the Bucks, he might be short of shy of some points against OKC so the next game will be the obvious against the Milwaukee at Crypto.com (sorry Og, it's no longer Staples Center).

Regarding the ticket price, are there NBA ticket scalpers as well? or that is the ticket price and not the resell?

Of course, everyone wanted to witnessed history and this ticket sellers are taking advantage of it.
1497  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Figueroa vs Magsayo WBC Interim Featherweight Title (March 4) on: January 31, 2023, 11:54:15 PM
Yes, I agree that this is not an easy fight, Figueroa gave Fulton one hell of a fight and there are fans who says that he was robbed on that win. Nevertheless he has move on already and for added motivation, this is for the vacant WBC featherweight championship.

So I expect a lot of fireworks in this fight. Yes, Figueroa might not have the power, but he is going up in weight at 126 lbs so maybe the added pounds will have some effect on his power punches.

Please help?Huh?Please help?Huh?I have forgotten my password but I have my original phrase.
What wallet are you using? This is very important so that we will see how you can recover it.

Do you have the recovery phrase or mnemonics? or the master password? If yes then you can recover your wallet by using that Restore->Recovery phrase in MEW.

Or maybe if you also have the Keystore file as backup, that's also one way to recover it.
1499  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin 12,000 in 2023. on: January 31, 2023, 03:20:12 PM
What do you guys think about the possibility that bitcoin will crash down below 20k again before going beyond 24k?

The possibility shouldn’t be guessed, rather it should be calculated and well estimated. But currently if we see the price, then it’s very hard for Bitcoins to fall below the price point of 20k usd, at least for now. I don’t know about the later part of 2022, but currently Bitcoins are very strong indicating that it will go up. Moreover the price also depends on the demand of the coin. If you see currently then the demand is really good, so this is a great sign that the price will increase in near future. Let’s hope for the best.
TA might be a good help to guess where the price is going to be, but still no assurance where the price will go, either $12k as it's lowest, or go up again to $25k in the short amount of time.

But looking at the movement now, most likely, or what I wanted is the price to continue to go up to $25k. So no scenario of $12k, and it means that we have reach the lowest low already for this bull run at $15,500. So I think majority is also looking at $25k-$30k to be the next price before predicting the next signal as where the price is going to be.
1500  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 31, 2023, 02:49:08 PM
Do you guys think that Orlando Magic can make playoffs this Season? Or least play in tournament? They played well in their last game with the 76ers!
They are not that far from the 8th rank of the Eastern conference which is the Atlanta Hawks. 5 games back, it is still reachable and we have lots of games remaining before the season ends. This is the reason why they are playing harder every game. I think they can reach the play-in tournament if they can keep this kind of energy especially defeating teams like 76ers or other strong teams.
After this one, it will 76ers again at the same arena, I doubt they will give it to them again, Embiid will make sure they will win this time.
But after that it may be an easy road, Timberwolves and Hornets. They better steal those games from them and then back at home with more energy against the Knicks.
Yes, but the East is pretty much stack up as well, and they need to make a string of consecutive wins to be able to get a good spot. The problem with them is that they can beat anyone in the league any given night, but then they can't produce winning runs. They are like the Wolves, now their winning streak has been snap and we don't know if they can continue or not. But as far as betting, they are good to put money is because they can pull this kind of upsets. And most likely, Banchero will win the ROY as least with the way he is playing right now with the Magic.
