1481  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to Keep Your Crypto Safe on: August 27, 2019, 09:02:28 PM
Good, the article gives a detailed note on the way cryptocurrencies get hacked and the way it can be kept secure. Here it briefs about the cryptocurrency stolen through different pathways, such as typo squatting, malware spread, Sim swapping losing of the private keys.

The fact is mentioned at the last, till date users who have exposed themselves as cryptocurrency users have got turned to be the targets. If none knows none tries to steal the funds. We need to spend, but should not hype stating I'm a cryptocurrency user.

It's not as detailed as you think. The section where they talk about malware isn't complete, they just gave a definition and a few examples but they left out the most important bit which is how do you get them in the first place. Malware isn't a joke and you can get it from literally anywhere from clicking a link in your email to downloading a torrent file you can have a malware included in what you have downloaded online. Aside from that the article didn't mention anything about phishing sites and USBs. Phishing sites are also prevalently used by a lot of wrongdoers in the industry and you can have it from a site impersonating website to a fake downloadable wallet asking your private keys. And of course the USBs where you could easily have malware and viruses just by plugging it in to your pc without scanning it first.
1482  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Season on: August 27, 2019, 08:10:38 PM
Boston doesn't require Tacko as much as Tacko needs them, they already have Haynes and Enes at center positions as far as I know (was Haynes resigned?) which means Tacko is a third string center and that position rarely gets any minutes, even if Haynes is not resigned as a second option he would probably go after some power forwards because Celtics would be playing more small ball.

So, all in all Tacko will not even get minutes he needs to prove himself, just to give an example Mitchell Robinson played amazing last year in Knicks, dude had 2.4 blocks per game on only 20 minutes per game and he still didn't get the minutes he needs, now they have more bigs and I doubt he will.

Same will happen to Tacko, best case he gets 15-20 minutes per game but that is not enough to make someone stay in the league if they are not amazing, that is just to see how they do and if they fail to deliver right away its quite possible he will be cut from the team.

I got a feeling that they only signed Tacko Fall as a back up player just in case the line up have some injuries on the center position, I really don't see him have any minutes at all especially at his current state. Chances are he won't be proving himself in an NBA game but he will have that chance when Boston inevitably send him to the G-league where the scouts would monitor him if he has the capacity to be in their main line-up. Nobody took the risk on drafting him so scouts early on saw that he isn't as talented to be playing right from that start for any of their team.
1483  Economy / Economics / Re: Taxless society idea on: August 27, 2019, 07:26:18 PM
The idea in it sense looks good but if you dig deeper you will see a big hole in your plan. First of all how will you get everything financed from a taxless society? You mentioned about healthcare, pensions, and other projects but how do you this things can be accomplish if the government doesn't even have any income coming from taxes? What will be the other alternative for them to have income? Because I don't see how the government will just be dependent on their citizens' contributions since it will be a slow development waiting for donations just to start a project. And of course a taxless society would only be a center of abuse for the top 1% in this kind of society the rich would be more richer and they'll be more powerful than the government running the society.
1484  Economy / Reputation / Re: StackGambler: coincidence or scam on: August 27, 2019, 06:58:17 PM
@DaveF may I ask how will the scam go down in StackGambler's situation? Are you trying to say that he is asking for help to cancel a ongoing transaction to scam another person? If that is the case you need to have proof that he is indeed scamming another person not just a hunch about it because having two negative feedbacks and a password change won't cut it, the negative feedbacks he has isn't even directly related to cancelling any transactions in Blockchain. We do need more proof that StackGambler is scamming another person before we can give him a negative feedback with regards to this matter because I don't think he deserves a new one as of right now.
1485  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Impact of Bitcoin growing Dominance on the Crypto space on: August 27, 2019, 03:41:15 PM
It doesn't imply anything at all, the only advantage I see that Bitcoin is still the market leader is its the one who influences the movement and not the one to be influence with. Most of the time when BTC moves majority of the cryptocurrencies will follow but if other coins moves first expect that Bitcoin won't be influenced in any way. And just in case you don't know Bitcoin's dominance is slowly decreasing day by day, with Altcoins being launch everyday and other cryptos showing that it's better compared to BTC a lot of investors are already exploring out of BTC.
1486  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Address that can lock Bitcoins and then release them aftter a specified time on: August 27, 2019, 02:22:40 PM
~snip~
Sorry, but I couldn't really relate this with his idea.

He wants to "lock" his money (which is in BTC) but in USD. Then, recoup it later to BTC when he is ready to spend or do anything he wants with it. But that's literally selling BTC -> waiting -> buying BTC. I don't see what stop-limit orders have to do with this. He isn't trading nor trying to sell before BTC price falls X%, or buy before it reaches X price point. He just wants to sell at the price it is right now and buy in 2 months at the price it will be at that moment, without looking
at the BTC price nor the amount he will receive. Just start with $100 USD in BTC and later have the same $100 USD in BTC (even if the price changes and his amount in BTC increases/decreases).
If shield132 has a chance to reply in this thread and explain it more on the feature he wants I maybe will have a full understanding about it but right now the only similar thing I can see to what he is saying are stop-limit orders but after re-reading his post again it may be far from it and works more closely like you are pulling out your money from Bitcoin temporarily but putting it back again after a fixed time which sound like how cost-averaging works for me. But I still don't see how this feature will benefit us at the end especially if it involves a temporary freezing of your capital just fir the sole purpose of buying Bitcoin back no matter what the current value is.
1487  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Address that can lock Bitcoins and then release them aftter a specified time on: August 26, 2019, 09:20:13 PM
Personally I like this idea but I'm looking for a more different and wide options too, for example you send bitcoins, they are automatically converted in usd, this amount is frozen and after fixed time, you get bitcoins of that usd amount.
These two will be great option for those people who can't hold bitcoins but want it and also for those who are afraid of fall but need to keep money safe but in bitcoins too.
May I ask what would be the point of doing this? You basically sell your BTC for USD, keep it "stuck" and buy it again later. Why would you need a service to do this? If you actually have USD while it is frozen, you're not actually holding any BTC. It's not "keeping money safe but in bitcoin too", it's just keeping money (USD).

The way shield132 is describing the service he is referring to is sort of similar to how stop-limit orders work in crypto exchanges. If he chooses BTC/USD as a trading pair for his stop-limit order then he could set up a price where he can sell Bitcoin equal to his USD asking price. USD to Bitcoin works the same way on stop-limit orders where a certain amount will be triggered depending if his asking price is matched on a later date. Stop-limit orders are very useful on setting up entry and exit points or even cutting losses and it's pretty useful if you aren't active in trading
1488  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is your Bitcoin price prediction for 2019 on: August 26, 2019, 08:18:49 PM
At the end of the year I am hoping to see at least 13k, I know that is a very risky price and whenever we reach it the price goes down so it should be more like 14k but I feel like we will break the wall around 14k but we will fall a bit so that whales could get some more, which will result with us going above the 14k, breaking the 13.8k wall, making it easier to go back up above to 15k+ and than going down so that whales could accumulate more bitcoins, that is exactly the stage we will leave bitcoin on 2019, on 2020 it will be accumulated enough in first few months and on close to halving it will be skyrocketed again only to fall after the halving when people realize nothing major will happen. That is exactly the road map in my mind about bitcoin for late 2019 and early 2020.

We already visited the 13,000$ level twice this year so we could easily identify 13k as a major resistance for BTC at it already failed to break the resistance twice that is why we are now consolidating from 9,000$ to 11,000$ level. Expecting Bitcoin to have a walk in the park from 9,000$ to 15,000$+ at the current situation we have for this year seems to be not possible. And by the way sometimes if not most of the time the whales are not the ones who are waiting for Bitcoin to go down they are the ones who are the reason why it's falling down due to them offloading their position on certain levels and buying them back again, that's why we are seeing Bitcoin having huge price swings even in consolidation.
1489  Other / Meta / Re: theymos suggestion for permaban on: August 26, 2019, 07:36:29 PM
First of all, I believe that for serious offenses such as scams etc. we should have a way to exclude such members from the forum.
The best way of "excluding" a proven scammer here in the forum is through the trust system and flags created under him. Bans on the other hand are out of the picture since the forum is trying to avoid moderator abuse from varying opinions on each cases. Even though compared to plagiarism where money is loss I believe this is the best way right now of handling scammers in the forum.

But, what about some other, no so clear cases like plagiarism?
I think we could already see different standards for solving this problem in the forum so far.
Some cases are resolved very quickly and easily, even in a few days or hours but some other cases have not been resolved in months, without clear reasons.

We cannot really have a set standard when it comes to handling members who have been dealt with a plagiarism permaban, by giving them a criteria on how they could post again in the forum would simply make plagiarizers have an easy way to come back in the forum and post again. Even if they have "learned the lesson" from the ban it simply makes plagiarism a not so serious case in the forum anymore especially for the members who have established their name in the forum for doing a good job.
1490  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Credit Card Cash Loan - Buy Bitcoin on: August 25, 2019, 10:07:20 PM
Sabi nga nila "Invest what you can afford to lose" which hindi mo ma-aapply pag nangutang ka lang. Wag ka masyadong nadyadyahe sa ganitong klaseng "opportunity" kasi baka ito din ang dahilan kung bakit ka mawawalan ng pera.

Ac Milan lost with Udinese 1: 0

Not a shocking news, Milan as today is not a top 3 team.

They probably end between from 4th to 8th place.

It's still early in this season and I don't think one lost can determine their placement in the team at the end of the season. The A.C. Milan team that face Udinese is not the best eleven Milan have, Mattia Caldara is out, Theo Hernandez is yet to play an A.C. Milan game. Let's not also forget that Milan is still out in any European contest for their penalty so I don't think Milan is in a rush to have major improvements this season the important thing now is they have bought a lot of good pieces to develop this season. With Leao, Donnarumma, Paqueta, and Romagnoli this guys will be good for the team in a few years time assuming that they are still in the club.
1492  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you believe stolen funds should be returned to their owner? on: August 25, 2019, 07:22:00 PM
If the stolen funds are somehow retrieved then the regular rule of ownership still applies if they haven't retrieve it though a company is still liable to its investors even if their funds are stolen from them I mean even banks have deposit insurance for their clients just in case a robbery or bankruptcy happens to them. The insurance of course doesn't cover everything there is a certain limit depending on each country or each insurer. And of course crypto exchange doesn't have one as they are not yet particularly covered by that kind of requirement but if the lawmakers decided to do so I believe that crypto exchanges will actually start tightening and improving their securities ones they know they are liable to the potential losses of their users.
1493  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies - Read before using exchanges or investing on: August 25, 2019, 06:38:43 PM
Here is one of the most recent examples of why storing all your cryptocurrencies in an exchange is not a good idea for your money. I think we all know by now what had happened to QuadrigaCX and how it had devastated a lot of investors from their exchange. It was not due to a hack nor a system malfuction but the simple reason of the owner dying whom they stated is the only one who have access to their cold wallets. Not unless you are into day trading it's really a good practice sending the cryptocurrencies you own to wallets you have full control with, there's really no reason why you need to hodl those coins on an exchange for too long when you can create crypto portfolios on third party apps or even in Excel/Spreadsheet.
1494  Economy / Economics / Re: Future and current Humanity, Bitcoin, Gold and Fiat. on: August 24, 2019, 08:45:13 PM
I blame the school systems and religions for they teach people what to think and not how to. I will not be giving my two cents because we don`t even have cents in circulation in the country I reside in (Canada), Which makes no sense.

Like What is this?
I pay 6$ for 3 coffee`s (I split my orders)
most pay $6.45 for the same thing (they get double taxed not splitting orders)

And what does this had to do with your coffee problem? School systems are built to give you the most basic education you need to receive for you to have a job they are not built for you to grow up and not let you decide for yourself because after you graduate you cannot blame them for your own decision making because you are an independent person free of thinking. The same thing can be said with out religion it's just your faith and beliefs it doesn't limit you on what you can do with your life and you can't blame them for having poor decisions with your life. Because the way I see it is you don't even need to buy coffee from them in the first place if you can make it on your own, why feed them more money if you can be heard by not buying their cups of coffee anymore?
1495  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-08-23] Bitcoin Miners Are Heating Homes Free of Charge in Frigid Siberia on: August 24, 2019, 07:48:29 PM
The idea itself is simple but the plan is way too complicated to achieve. To keep it simple Hotmine is entrusting normal citizens their mining rigs to heat up their homes at the same time earn from them, expanding your business this way to people who barely or don't have any knowledge about crypto mining let alone cryptocurrencies seems like an impossible task to achieve a 100% efficiency. The citizens who have received mining rigs will act out as a caretaker observing the mining rigs and know simple troubleshooting just in case the equipment is not working properly. Expecting that kind of task is being achieve by each one of them seems to be unlikely and it would take more than several orientations to achieve this.
1496  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Otto Wallins on: August 22, 2019, 08:39:56 PM
If we didn't know who Tom Schwarz was before fighting Tyson Fury what's made anyone think that Otto Wallin is different from Schwarz's case? Otto Wallin at best is just a good boxer fighting other European boxers, Fury on the other hand have fought both Deontay Wilder, Wladimir Klitschko in the ring he also have fought a well established boxer in the name of Christian Hammer. Just by experience in ring fights alone you know that Fury really has the upper hand in the ring. I really don't see any Andy Ruiz type of an upset here since Ruiz also have fought against one of the world's best heavy weights and he have succeeded on having a good fight with. Otto Wallin on the other hand will just be put to the real test for the first time in the ring now.
1497  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Bitcoin Tax notices from IRS this year for previous years on: August 22, 2019, 07:32:06 PM
You should take note that not all of their clients' trading history are being submitted to the IRS for review, the order for them was to submit "random" trade reports or unusual amounts of trades coming from their clients. And yes being a U.S. compliant exchanges I expect them to be one of the companies being required to submit trade reports.

poloniex has said repeatedly that they do not do any tax reporting. i'm sure if the USA government sends them a subpoena for your data, they will comply, but that is a very rare situation. in the regular course of business, they do not send 1099s to the IRS like coinbase does.

If that is the case then I doubt the authorities would even need a subpoena just to know their clients' trading transaction. Subpoenas are only served once there is a lawsuit filed in the court whether it is a civil case or a criminal one which in this case the IRS wouldn't need since they are just doing regular background checks if the U.S. citizens that are trading in crypto are paying their taxes right. The IRS and the SEC might cooperate in this matter and just put up some kind of regulation/requirements ordering these crypto exchanges to make the submission of these trade reports legal.
1498  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: How to find venture capital investors? on: August 22, 2019, 06:36:41 PM
Let's assume that you don't have a lot going for your start up little money, manpower, and you are just starting from the scratch. Your only way to attract investors in your company or even have one is through your existing connections may it be from your family, friends, or friends of friends or anyone you know who you can get in touch with someone who is into this kind of business. Find that connection you have and you will have a meeting with them. The only problem is you need to make your sales pitch for your business idea the best thing you ever made in order to convince them that also includes the share of your profit and the help you needed from them aside from their money because all they want is just the assurance that they will earn from what you are planning.
1499  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: August 22, 2019, 05:06:54 PM
But does his transfer to Fiorentina mean that the team will count in the fight for Champions League?

Unfortunately no.
The previous season Fiorentina finished 16th. That means there is no champions league or European league for Forentina. With so many new players this season, they have to fight this season to be able to play in the champions league.

Their not even part of neither the Champions League nor the Europa League this season because of their horrible placement. Like what I have said in the Football speculation thread Franck Ribery won't really be a game changer for the team because he is way past his prime and he can't even have proper minutes with Bayern Munich anymore that is why they let him go in the free transfer. Ribery would just be a mentor at best for the team and maybe play a couple minutes but won't serve in the first eleven. The current transfers that Fiorentina didn't cannot even be called a game changer because the best player they have signed, which I doubt you know, is Erick Pulgar. If they want to compete in the top 10 they must invest in upgrading their roster entirely.
1500  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin faces more decreases on: August 22, 2019, 04:05:53 PM
The price correction we are having is more technical in nature rather than any news involve with it for the reason why it is falling down. I may not have seen it in the last few days but BTC as of right now is on a falling wedge pattern which is bullish in nature, just by looking at the chart with no experience on trading whatsoever you might just think that Bitcoin is just having a free fall way back below 4,000$ again but the falling wedge pattern signifies that this is just a weak profit taking and we might see a reversal as early as BTC hit 9,700$ at worst.  Volume isn't that abnormal as well as it is gradually decreasing as the price is decreasing as well meaning that there is less and less sellers offloading their position.
