1661  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bustabit Bankroll Profit Predictor on: November 28, 2023, 02:47:35 PM
If all the statistics are coming from the front page of the Bustabit website (and you are applying those formulas) at least we understand where the data is coming from and how you are using it. I would still not be sure about the future potential bankroll profits but it is a great tool to look up past profits based on the date and amounts invested.

Apart from the explanation below do you have any other updates on the website?

I am now breaking down the exact formula on the front page of the site to make it clear for everyone and it's as follows: (your bankroll stake) * (daily bankroll profit profit)

To predict future profits, this is the formula used:

(your bankroll stake) * (average daily profit of the last 60 days)
1662  Economy / Gambling / Re: bustabit – The original crash game on: November 28, 2023, 02:39:40 PM
I just noticed this post. Your babprofitcalculator is a very good website if the calculations are correct.

It is understandable that the future bankroll profits will not be accurate simply because fluctuations will occur but if the historical data from the Bustabit website is being used to provide accurate profits between two past dates, then surely that is something bankroll investors (and possible investors) can benefit from.

I created a site where people can estimate the returns they'd make if they invested in the Bustabit Bankroll.

The site is https://babprofitcalculator.com/

Let me know what you guys think  Cool

It is a difficult question to answer but have you decided what will you do with the DAI? How much time will you allow for the Whirlwind representative to get in contact with you to have the funds sent to a destination of their choosing? If they do not get in contact with you what happens to the escrow funds?

Yes, I still have the 14444.94 DAI under my control.
1664  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2023/2024 on: November 27, 2023, 09:58:16 PM
Not many would have thought Chelsea would be beaten that badly by Newcastle United but it just goes to show the Premier League is the most exciting and unpredictable football league in the world.

I am surprised there is no mention of the amazing goal Garnacho scored for Manchester United when they went to Everton. The 0-3 scoreline flattered them because they did not play excellent and were helped along the way by Everton playing so bad.

I saw movements on the address bc1qf8h5k6sash8007vpesymxkw2xsg5d0r3j4l5vmcrwpz2pqu66fjstzgd3r that is now empty.
Do you know what is going on?
It seems that coins is starting to move, and if they do not return to give a statement in the coming hours, WWM is officially considered to have stopped, and anyone who sent to the service without communicating here has been scammed. I don't think received addresses were a multi-signature address, so they withdrew.
This is an interesting situation to be in after the funds have been on the move. How many member would have thought anything like this would happen so close to the period after the mixer owners stopped communicating within the forum (or with Hhampuz). If anything, I would have expected the funds to just sit there untouched forever.

The Whirlwind onion and clearnet websites are not working therefore they might not return to make any statements or comments.

Escrow funds are still intact.
They are still under the control of minerjones right?
1666  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2023/2024 on: November 26, 2023, 07:32:58 PM
It was nice to have that competition with you, congratulations  Grin

These are the results of the games played today 26th November 2023:

Tottenham Hotspur 1-2 Aston Villa
Everton 0-3 Manchester United

Tottenham took the lead and were in a position to win the game even with goals disallowed for off-side. Full credit to Aston Villa, they came out after half-time and tried to charge of the game, they did well to win the game 1-2.

In the other game, Garnacho scored a brilliant overhead kick to give Manchester United the lead after just two minutes. The game ended 0-3 but Everton have been deducted 10 points by the Premier League for breaching financial fair play rules therefore they need to make up the points they have lost by winning games if they want to avoid relegation.

This is how the Premier League table currently stands:

It is not only the attention that this troll craves for, he clearly feels his actions (past, present and future) are vindicated because for the fact he managed to get on to a signature campaign.

If it were not for hitting campaign quota targets, he would have faded away in to obscurity therefore the question is asked: why would a particular campaign manager enrol him and many others that have received negative tags to their campaigns when no other campaign manager would have enrolled any of them?

I'm begging for it
Because you are. Like every dedicated troll you crave attention. Your response to every bad thing you're accused of is to do more of it. I get that you're likely a sad jobless clown with nothing else to do, but creating all these threads and attacking users who got sick of your trollfuckery is just going to make more people see your trollfuckery.
1668  Economy / Reputation / Re: I need help to investigate Blitzboy and need DT members to tag him. on: November 26, 2023, 12:42:24 PM
After reading this thread I remembered I sent Blitzboy a PM some months ago asking for an explanation since he did not post in this thread. I cannot recall why I did not follow it up, maybe it was because of things happening outside this forum in real life.

Back then, I was the on the verge of tagging the Blitzboy account if not for anything else then for at least ban evasion just as yahoo62278 did but now I will go through some of the threads/posts to re-familiarise myself before I come to a decision.

I will also send him a PM asking him to post here to clarify what happened.

He doesn't need to respond, its a moot point as we both already acknowledged he's a good forum member. I mainly just bumped this thread because of Blitzboy's AI-generated posts but after doing some additional research it became apparent the account changed hands several years ago.
1669  Other / Meta / Re: Any 50 BTC donor still active here? on: November 26, 2023, 12:15:33 PM
We will never know how many of those VIP left the forum because literally made enough millions of USD$ as a result of Bitcoin they might have made but if they are not online there cannot be too many reasons as to why. If 50 BTC is worth around $1.85 million today, let us not forget is would have been worth over $3 million at the all time high price so that could be telling.

Maybe some genuinely donated as a gesture of goodwill without realising how drastic that donation would affect their lives many years down the line and regret it, therefore have left the forum. Some probably made phenomenal amounts of money and decided they no longer needed (or wanted) to use it.

For the sake of curiosity and view a timeline, is there any way of finding out the specific dates/times when each of those 115 donations and 38 VIP donations were made?

It is also kind of amazing that almost none of the VIP donors are interested in using their accounts anymore (for good, anyway). Just think about that: in essence, a single account is currently worth $1.85 MILLION... maybe their owners f'd off because they were seriously rich & didn't need it for anything, or else it is just a reminder to them of how much BTC they "wasted"... one or the other  Cheesy

I do have to wonder how much one of those accounts could earn weekly in a signature campaign -- granted it still belonged to the original owner.
1670  Other / Meta / Re: These degenerates don't wanna quit.. is there a way out? on: November 25, 2023, 10:27:27 PM
Those might not be your funds but as a forum member you have the same right as any other to make suggestions or ask questions right? What struck me was the question you asked about the new forum and would like to know what exactly is going on with it. Has there ever been a realistic estimated release date?

With the amount donated over the years surely it should have been ready by now.

1) Where's that New Forum Software that's been in the works since probably before I joined in 2015, and 2) At least a small amount of the forum's funds should probably go toward upgrading a few things--maybe 2FA, improving the search function, creating a mobile-friendly version, and also a dark mode.  Just my 2 sats; those aren't my funds, so it's not like my "vote" matters.
1671  Economy / Lending / Re: Help !! on: November 25, 2023, 02:02:33 PM
If you put yourself in the same position as any lender would be in, what would you do if a newbie who made two posts asked you for a loan? Would you give a loan to a member that had no trade history, no forum history, provided no collateral and was completely anonymous? At least if a reputable member of the forum vouched for the newbie it might change your mind but in this case this did not happen.

You have received both neutral and negative trust on your account, I would advise you to forget this account and create another if you want to contribute to the forum as a helpful member and eventually join a signature campaign.

Dear community, If someone would be so kind as to lend me 0.05 btc, I would really appreciate it. I have to pay tax in my country (Hungary) if I want to withdraw BTC, which is equivalent to 2 months' salary here. After I can buy the BTC, I will return it with interest. Thank you in advance for your kindness. Tibor Horváth.

That sounds very interesting, an exclusive area. I did not know (and am fairly sure most of us did not know) that members that donated have their own private section of the forum. Why is/was it controversial for staff members to participate in that private section? Personally, if donors participated in a nefarious activity of any kind and it needed to have intervention of staff to lock or remove threads, or merge posts then maybe their presence was required but I am not privy to what was being discussed at the time.

As a Donator I can tell you that we have our own exclusive section of the forum (which controversially staff members are also able to participate in) and there are a few Donators such as myself that occasionally post things in there. A quick glance at that section looks like TradeFortress was that last VIP to post anything in there.
1673  Other / Meta / Re: harizen - ban appeal on: November 25, 2023, 11:29:47 AM
The best course of action as far as proving account ownership is concerned is for the member to at least stake a bitcoin address. That way, if the worst should happen and the forum account is compromised, it should be relatively easy to sign a message and have access to the account returned. If becomes a different scenario if the computer was attacked because there is a possibility the wallet information (as well as BTC balances) could have been compromised.

I also noted the OP has not been online for over a month using either of his two known accounts but that does not mean he has not created a new account. Maybe he is already back and would like to keep the new account private and not associate it with his past. I cannot recall interacting with the OP but if he does get access to his banned/stolen account granted, I hope the tags will be removed.

I have visited his profile and I found that DirewolfM14 has an active flag against harizen and he has also left a negative tag on the user's account. I hope that once OP comes back and makes us sure that his account is unbanned and is safely controlled by him not someone else then you people can remove those tags from his profile.

I know sometimes it would be hard for such users and they can face huge issues even if they get their account back because some members still might consider the account as hacked one, and they might not remove the negative tags that they have left.

So far the guy hasn't been active on forum for at least a month now and I hope that everything is going right on his side because sometimes people can have other issues then the forum's related issues and that can be a reason for their absence.
1674  Other / Meta / Re: These degenerates don't wanna quit.. is there a way out? on: November 25, 2023, 11:23:10 AM
The vulnerability of every account doesn't depend on the people behind them - it depends on the site itself...IF IT'S NOT SAFE, THEN ITS NOT WORTH DOING AT ALL!!!!!
First of all, what's with the yelling? Take it easy. No need to shout.

Second, you are completely wrong. I'm no cyber expert, but from what I've read seems all researchers consider humans (that is, users) to be the weakest link in the cybersecurity chain. According to many studies, 9 out of 10 data breach incidents are caused by human mistakes. So I'd say how vulnerable a system is depends a lot on the person using it.  This forum is no exception.

Third, let's cut out the baseless FUD! If you genuinely believe that the Bitcointalk.org forum is unsafe or worthless, then why keep using it? No one's forcing you, right?
There is a possibility that in the middle of all that screaming, the OP lost their way and did not elaborate on the specific issue that made them create the thread. Even if the OP has a valid reason (or point) for this thread, alienating the forum members by posting in a crude manner is not exactly the way to open a debate.

It will be interesting to see the response the OP provides to your third point.

Yes, this should be enough. If you signed a message using PGP this also help to restored quickly. One of the accounts (+6k merits) was hacked and it was restored in a short time (before restoration became quick ).

OFF-topic: Why do you mention your name at the end of each topic? Is the account managed by more than one user?
I am curious about this too.
1675  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dangerous chasing losses on: November 25, 2023, 11:14:40 AM
Thank you for sharing your story. Many members have do the same thing when they did not have to but did it to serve as a warning to others about even non-regular gamblers can get into trouble. Another warning sign to the average person to look out for is many casinos give free bets in the hope their customers will lose and then start playing with their own money.

When it starts off as being fun but becomes an obsession or compulsion, people should stop. If they cannot stop because they are addicted, they have to seek help from family members or trusted friends.

Conclusion: I will never gamble again when I’m bored or chase loss small amount. With this exhilarating experience. I think I will stop gambling for a long time and reflec on what dumb thing I do today.
1676  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2023/2024 on: November 25, 2023, 10:55:39 AM
I would not state Liverpool are favourites to win at Manchester City but I do think they will win, or the game will end in a draw. West Ham also are playing away at Burnley therefore it will be a difficult game but overall they should take all three point and the same for Chelsea, they are away at Newcastle but should take all three points.

As you have put forward your opinions, I will give mine. Let us see at the end of the games who has more correct  Grin

(A) Manchester City vs Liverpool
(A) Burnley vs West Ham United
(D) Luton Town vs Crystal Palace
(A) Newcastle United vs Chelsea
(H) Nottingham Forest vs Brighton and Hove Albion
(D) Sheffield United vs Bournemouth
(H) Brentford vs Arsenal

Yes, I stake but a little, I'm not certain of all of them but this is just how I believe the match will go but I don't really worry about it, since. Liverpool has a better chance of winning and we can see it, how they have been playing this season, either getting a win or draw expect from the unfortunate event against Spurs.
West Ham is up against Burnley who sits bottom of the table while they are at the 9th position.
Chelsea match will be tough but as long as they continue with their recent form it is a win.
Brighton and Nottingham are both having injuries woes but Brighton has it more but I still think they will win this match since they have a better percentage of scoring when they have a chance.
1677  Other / Meta / Re: harizen - ban appeal on: November 25, 2023, 01:03:52 AM
The OP created this harizenbanappeal account to appeal the ban and his last login was on 17th October 2023. It seems as though the OP might have given up because there is no effort on his part trying to claim/reclaim the harizen account. If that is the case it is a shame because members losing their accounts as a result of hacking should not be penalised is this manner.

Most probably their computer was hacked therefore wallets and many other things not even related to this forum could have been compromised. I hope the OP manages to get his forum account back and protect his computer from further attacks.

Hopefully, I can get back my beloved account.
1678  Other / Meta / Re: These degenerates don't wanna quit.. is there a way out? on: November 25, 2023, 12:23:32 AM
I think I would state something similar in response the OP. I am unsure what hack the OP refers to but in general, hacks are taking place everyday on some website somewhere and there is not much that can be done to protect this forum than has already been done. The rest is down to the individual themselves and they have to take their own precautions to protect their login credentials and so on.

I've seen several hack cases and it's not even funny how a user would be up, day and night just to create a reputation and it's taken away just in a moment;
What sorts of hacks are you referring to here on bitcointalk? I wouldn't sweat it too much though.  Even if some joker manages to hack into someone's account, that dont mean the site itself is vulnerable and  folks gotta be responsible for their own security - can't expect Bitcointalk to babysit everyone's account.
1679  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever been a gambling addict? on: November 24, 2023, 11:46:06 PM
I am not a gambling person therefore thankfully I have not been gambling addict but that does not mean I do not hope this thread does not get flooded with members that are addicted. All those that are mentioning (and advising others) on responsible gambling are doing the right thing. Anybody that feels their gambling is becoming addictive should speak to their family and friends to find solutions before it spirals.

I am unsure about how many members here are gambling using crypto-only amassed from either trading or signature campaigns. I think those figures if they ever became available would be important to study how gambling is affecting forum members.

I see a lot of people here talking about gambling responsibly. Yes, that is something very true, but have you ever been a gambling addict?

To be honest in the past I have spent a lot of money gambling. What I mean here is that I spent all my savings on gambling. Maybe the nominal amount is not that big but it makes me feel like a gambling addict. I spent 5 months of my savings on gambling. Currently I am aware and am in the stage of improving my own financial condition. Have you ever felt like a gambling addict? and how much did you lose in gambling?
1680  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ POLL ] The Unification Fight: FURY vs USYK 17th FEBRUARY 2024 on: November 24, 2023, 09:45:34 PM
For this fight, both needs to be in 100%, mind games might also play in this one, Usyk is taking advantage of Fury's lackluster performance and for sure he will stick it out during their press conference. But for me, size does matter in this fight, so Fury despite his poor performance against Ngannou, will try to be better here and win thru judges card by unanimous decision.
I think we are in agreement with each other, for this fight Fury will try to be better than in his performance against Ngannou and to be clear, if he is as bad then he will probably be knocked out by Usyk. Having said that, I expect Fury will be back to his best and also think Usyk will be back to his best after his recent fights. The boxers will be looking forward as they try to make history.

I am almost 100% sure that we will never see such exotic fights. If Usik beats Fury, he will simply retire immediately and go undefeated. One of the big boxers (I don’t remember exactly who) recently expressed this idea and I completely agree with it. If Usik loses, then maybe we will see a Usyk-Wilder or Usyk-Zhilei fight and maybe a rematch against Fury, but then, regardless of the result, he will leave. He doesn't look like someone who would abuse his body even when his age does not allow him to maintain a decent shape.
Whatever happens in the ring, the outcome will have a sizeable impact across the boxing world. Will the winner of the fight even make one defence of their unified title? The chances are they will try to make at least one for the money but best really should know when to quit.
