1681  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Gamers Can Now More Easily Cash Out Bitcoin on: June 04, 2021, 03:33:26 PM
Not worth it...

1. Went to check the app on my spare phone and was asked to KYC in order to gain full access of the wallet

2. It's more on microbets

Entrance fee is either 100 sats / 1,000 sats / 10,000 sats. Choose the level you feel comfortable with. The higher the entrance fee, the higher the competition!

I couldn't confirm but if there was no way to send the btc to an external wallet, that's definitely a three.
1682  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Reputable escrow without network fees? on: June 03, 2021, 04:16:19 PM
Any P2P exchanges can act as escrow by themselves, there is no need to hire an escrow service.  If you trust that exchange then, good for you to buy and sell Bitcoin there.  Like LBC, Hodl Hodl, Paxful, and many more, I suggest having your own research first.
Wow thats interesting, usually LBC requires indicating payment mode, so if we entered Wire Transfer and are instead expecting goods how would that be recieved in a dispute, anyone with experience on this?

If by goods you mean items/products/accounts and such, then there was a misunderstanding as I think sheenshane said that for when you are buying or selling bitcoin-- as per their word.

LBC doesn't handle goods and services, it's only for trading bitcoins against money (medium of exchange), and it would be best to not try to find a loop hole about it.
1683  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex - source of funds on: June 02, 2021, 10:23:33 AM
I understand that most of the time, exchanges will allow you to make a final withdrawal if they are going to prohibit you from using their services for a compliance-type reason, such as KYC, with the only exception being that they believe you are on some kind of sanctions list that would prohibit them from sending you money, such as OFAC, which leads me to:
Quote
I see no reason for anyone to continue using Bittrex. They're many other (and better) alternatives.

I wish.

It's not the case for the CEXs today. When you get the KYC card, it's either you comply and get back the access to your funds or you don't and it's theirs. You can read countless threads about this when you look it up. And exchanges usually don't tell the reasons for it or make it vague like "we detected a suspicious activity" so we don't know how sensitive their system is when it comes to this.

Additionally, this is bittrex who imposed mandatory KYC without prior notice which locked thousands of users out of their account and has the mandatory source of funds. We can't really expect them to be that lax when it comes to KYC... or any other compliance type

I have been asked about the source of funds for the coin I trade with on coinbase dozens of times, and dozens of times, they have accepted my answer without asking for supporting documentation. I am surprised that Bittrex is asking for supporting documentation for the source of funds question.

Some CEX are laxer than the other which makes them relatively better
1684  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: 🚨 Exit Scam from vinex.network exchange on: June 01, 2021, 03:42:01 PM
The migration seems to have started 2 months ago... I'm no expert but for a small exchange site it seems to be taking too long, no?

It's also shady that they have only announced such a big update in their telegram making most of their users in the dark, and this was during not prior. Even if they don't exit scam, this is still without a doubt a shady behavior.

The whois of their website is hidden but refer to American servers (by chance?) ideal for international lawsuits.

Cloudflare makes it possible to hide the server IP by acting as a proxy so that's not them but cloudflare.

EOSex. This is exactly the same excuse they gave back then when their site went offline in the Telegram group. People waited for months and months until they gave up

Also reminds me of coinsmarkets who had the same excuse. Now that I think about it, it was up from time to time, maybe to appear genuine. I say there's a fair chance vinex might do the same so check them as many times a day @op.
1685  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: ANn thread developed using imgur images - is it a right way to do it? on: June 01, 2021, 01:57:15 AM
Both parties are saying different things... if you want to back your words, post proofs (e.g. chat logs) otherwise it won't hold weight, and people will more likely to be left confused.
1686  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: ANn thread developed using imgur images - is it a right way to do it? on: May 31, 2021, 11:16:08 AM
It looks like it's the promised after sales service that they failed to provide, then I don't understand what was so hard about typing a no more than 200 character tutorial or set it up themself which wouldn't take more than 10 mins... I doubt they don't know how to put a link within an image since they make signatures.

While I wouldn't say you were scammed (unless we're missing something), keeping one's word is vital when it comes to doing transactions. I say post your proofs op (blur every sensitive info) to strengthen your case and I'll inform lucifur about this thread so you can hear their side.
1687  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Coinbase don’t allow to withdraw on: May 29, 2021, 06:41:49 PM
AFAIK, even you were contacting any of their representative from support, they have nothing to do with it because this was their system, and might this was on the term and conditions regarding purchasing Bitcoin.  Though there's nothing wrong if you will hint a try.

You can call them if you want to talk to one of their representative on live support to this phone number, just dial 1-888-908-7930.

Customer support is the bridge between the users and the service so if something goes wrong with the said service, it's only right that we reach out to them.
And as per their word, there is no live support in phone (there is however an upcoming live support via messaging in 2nd half of 2021 — An update on improving our customer experience )

Phone

Please be aware that we currently do not offer any phone support with a live agent. You can call Coinbase Support to immediately disable your account if you suspect your account has been compromised.

There's also a reddit thread about people disabling their accounts after calling coinbase (reddit thread). It could also be that they did something wrong during the call but I still wouldn't risk it.

As always, create a support ticket and escalate your ticket number thru their social network sites

Is Coinbase present on social media?

Note: when it comes to SNS, they are more active in twitter (@CoinbaseSupport) and reddit, I recommend putting more attention on those
1688  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Ftx Exchnage login Probelm on: May 29, 2021, 04:31:59 PM
If you don't want to experience this SMS verification issue as I said above better switch on any authenticator app. SMS verification is very problematic not only on exchanges but also on some other websites.

Yes, switching to google authenticator is much better option but why don't exchanges offer two 2fa methods at the same time. For example, if there is a option to use either SMS 2fa or google authenticator at the same time, so if one is not available , the person can login with other one  Huh

That would be very convenient but you'd be sacrificing your security in exchange.

Different method = different attack surface which means some offers better security than the other and this would be meaningless if it's also possible to generate an OTP thru a weaker point as hackers would target that instead, just like how it is with your example as software/app-based authentication offers better security than SMS-based.
1689  Economy / Exchanges / Re: How can I find out if this CoinExchange.io funds recovery email is legit? on: May 28, 2021, 03:28:54 PM
Check their website directly and go to their support and try to find the email and if it is different then you will have some reason to doubt but you can also ask a question to that website's email and ask them about the email that you are having some suspicion.

It's still the same as before but it's defunct now and all their social network sites seems abandoned including their BCT account CoinExchange.io— last active: September 16, 2019

photo from u/Junkis of reddit

This complete blocking of any communication is so shady, it looks like a way to claim as many funds as possible after the deadline... I'm not buying that they don't have the means to recover their support channels (portal + SNS) and even if they actually don't, they could've just set up a new medium to connect to their users especially because withdrawal problems are bound to happen to some users.

@op, Another thing to consider is, even if this is actually them, there is still a chance of misuse of personal data...  you yourself op has found them sus too.
1690  Economy / Exchanges / Re: How can I find out if this CoinExchange.io funds recovery email is legit? on: May 27, 2021, 04:30:46 PM
According to this user, it seems they are using passbase to handle their KYC. Try to reach out to passbase instead and ask if they are still in service to coinexchange.io as you are worried about your data's safety. It doesn't fully eliminate your concern, but risk would definitely be reduced if confirmed they are still servicing them imo.

I get this "PassBase KYC verification issues are not yet resolved. We have temporarily disabled KYC verification at the request of PassBase. We are working with them to resolve this issue as quickly as possible. We will be extending the deadline accordingly. Thank you for your patience."

The reddit thread by the way is for users like you, so might help to read it all/post to update each other.
1691  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance referral code on: May 27, 2021, 10:22:43 AM
The 2BTC withdrawal limit on Binance with non-KYC verified was changed recently look at this image below.
So without KYC verification you can't able to withdraw more than 0.05 BTC unless you change your mind to verify the KYC process and increase the limit up to 100BTC per day.

But it's not for every unverified users, take note of the "for some users who are not verified" in their message.

As per their word, your withdrawal limit will reflect in your withdrawal page

Daily withdrawal limit:
Verified accounts: withdraw up to 100 BTC per 24h
Non-verified accounts: as displayed on the withdrawal page

Note: This announcement was updated on 2021-04-23 to reflect changes to daily withdrawal limits for non-verified accounts.

I checked mine and it's still 2BTC

But the thing with CEX is there is always the risk of getting asked to KYC regardless of whether you are trading less than your withdrawal limit or not...
1692  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Gate.io SCAMMERS? on: May 26, 2021, 08:40:20 AM
Take note of "manually credit" cause anything that is done manually in centralized exchanges usually have long delays, probably due to the lack of manpower especially during surge times like this so I say this is more of a competency problem, at least for now...

and in case you're wondering, the questions were asked to make sure the XLMs were truly from you, so nothing wrong with them.

Just a suggestion, maybe creating more support tickets only furthers down your case, so try to stop it for now and only regularly escalate your case (support ticket) thru their live chat and social network sites.

Stay away from GATE.IO it's a pure scam!....

Better open your own scam accusation thread
1693  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance referral code on: May 26, 2021, 06:29:42 AM
can I open a second account with same docs,

According to their Terms of Service, this isn't allowed

a. Registration

...Only one User can be registered at a time, but each individual User (including any User that is a business or legal entity) may maintain only one main account at any given time.

b. Eligibility

By registering to use a Binance Account, you represent and warrant that... (iv) you do not currently have a Binance Account;

Note that main accounts are not to be confused with sub-accounts as they are just nestled within your main.

or can I delete the account,

There is an option to disable your account which can be reactivated by reaching out to support. They did say "maintain only one main" so maybe there's a chance it'll be fine once you disable your current one BUT to guarantee your account's safety, ask their support to make sure.

If that isn't allowed either, you can ask them to delete your account as they are GDPR compliant although at this point, it's not worth the trouble just to get some referral bonus...
1694  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTC/Western union Localbitcoin on: May 25, 2021, 06:00:53 PM
If you decide to go with LBC, aside from their user profile stats be sure to also take note of LBC's How to stay safe while trading Bitcoin. With account trading and feed back manipulation being a thing, even excellent accounts (lots of positive feed backs, confirmed trades etc..) can try to scam you.

Take a look at these cases for example

1695  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How much attention should be paid to forecast websites? on: May 25, 2021, 10:01:02 AM
Does anyone know if this website has accurate predictions about Bitcoin? https://predict-price.com/Forecast/Bitcoin-USD.html .

Also note that no one can accurately predict the future price as you would need some kind of superpower for that so if that's what you're looking for, you won't find anything.

Best we can do is intelligent guessing/speculate, and for that you can check the speculation board or in tradingview.com
1696  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Need feedback for my new trading app on: May 24, 2021, 02:01:04 PM
A must have's would be

1. Real-time changes
2. Search bar function
3. Filters
4. More exchange, more coins and a different chart for each pair in an exchange.
5. Ability to draw, add lines, text and stuff in compare feature

And to have an edge over similar websites, maybe consider getting some functions which most of them don't have or only offers for paid users e.g. custom time frames, custom price and volume in percentage filter, etc...

Lastly, maybe more background/explanation behind the price analysis ideas? and a risk warning.
1697  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Ftx Exchnage login Probelm on: May 23, 2021, 02:02:02 PM
The fault could also be on your mobile service provider, try to reach out to them too.

This problem has a much lower chance of occuring when you switch to better 2fa method like software as there'll be no need to rely to service providers (yours + the exchange's). Most importantly, SMS is the least secure way to do 2fa for reasons such as they go around unencrypted, sim cards are easy to steal and operators have the ability to port your phone number into another SIM giving birth to sim swapping attacks, so you are essentially making your account more secure.
1698  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: looking for a active trading companion on: May 21, 2021, 03:17:38 PM
so with all these, i am looking for a companion who is interested in trading, tech, news and would like to share contact number or some platform where we can message and discuss on regular basis so that on every oppurtunity i have someone to talk and take up decisions if not atleast make my head stright Smiley

Just a warning. Engaging thru PMs makes you prone to scam attempts. scammers like it because there will be no one to point out their nonsense. Sticking to public communities like this forum is recommended plus it's better to get opinions from various ppl.

It's perfectly fine to share ideas but never try to seek validation as things can get ugly like losing accountability or being dependent on it. Are you maybe risking big op? that's why you cant take a step?
1699  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mate global on: May 20, 2021, 10:49:16 PM
I only allowed access to my phone's storage, but I refused to allow mate-global to make calls or obtain my location.

Did the app asked you these from the moment you opened it? 'cause an exchange app doesn't need these perms. Maybe the storage perm when you upload documents for KYC but it should only be asked when you are about to do tasks like that, not from the get go. Most importantly, you wouldn't really want any unknown/scam app to get those high-risk permissions.

One of the ways to know if an app is a spyware is if it asks permissions which aren't needed and it's the case for this one. I say uninstall the app op.

Lastly, a barrage of questions: is your phone rooted? and what OS? Did you notice anything unusual with your phone? are you getting more spam emails/sms more than usual?
1700  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bybit Custom Timeframe e.g. 24min on: May 20, 2021, 04:26:08 PM
Do you mean time frames in charts? I don't think it's possible

The feature is actually supported in tradingview which is the charts they're using, but the bar where it's possible to enter custom time frames can't be found and the shortcut for it doesn't work either (a popup will show up when you type in a number)

From:tradingview.com

From:bybit.com

And this is probably because the feature is only for paid users and there's currently no way to login your account in the exchange and/or bybit refused to shoulder the pay (if it's even possible)
