RESULTS:

Thursday 4th May
Brighton and Hove Albion 1-0 Manchester United

Wednesday 3rd May
Liverpool 1-0 Fulham
Manchester City 3-0 West Ham United

Brighton outclassed and outplayed Manchester United and only won because of a penalty in time added-on. Manchester City managed to brush aside WEst Ham United and return to the top of the Premier League with a game in hand and a point in the lead.

After a succession of win Liverpool find themselves just 4 points behind Manchester United and a Champions League place. Well done Liverpool.
1762  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2022/2023 on: May 03, 2023, 05:38:39 PM
At the very least they were capable of a draw, I mean they have a squad full of talent (old and young) therefore taking away a point would have been within their capacity. Chelsea did not even manage that and that was indicative of where they are now. You as a Chelsea fan obviously saw that coming but I did not.

Arsenal meanwhile have a great team spirit even though there is little chance Manchester City will slip up and allow them back in to the title race. You would expect Manchester City to beat West Ham United when they meet in Manchester this evening and go back to the top of the table with a game to spare.

I warned you, maybe it's time you wrote us off since I did months ago, I'm used to us losing for a long time now and the horrible show will continue next week.
How could you that sure Chelsea would lose?
1763  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2022/2023 on: May 02, 2023, 11:27:21 PM
RESULT:

Arsenal 3-1 Chelsea

Arsenal are back on top of the league table again after they beat Chelsea. What is going no with Lampard and Chelsea? Full credit to Arteta and Arsenal for pushing Manchester City and still trying to challenge for the title. They are two points ahead but Manchester City have two games in hand which can give them six points.
1764  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2022/2023 on: May 02, 2023, 02:24:41 PM
It must have been very painful for them to find themselves 3-0 down only to make it 3-3 and then in the end to lose 4-3, especially if they conceded the 4th goal a minute after they equalised. Many Tottenham fans have been asking Levy to sell the club for a long time but maybe he has no plans to sell because he believes he can guide them to success.

@JollyGood for the mess they’re in I blame Levy, because he’s constantly making one bad decision after another and till he’s at the club I don’t think that they can progress hence it’s time that he leaves the club. Furthermore Tottenham comeback did surprise me but in the manner they lost it clearly shows that the next manager will have a very big task on his hand, as this Tottenham side just keeps getting worst with each passing game.
1765  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2022/2023 on: May 02, 2023, 07:36:10 AM
Do not expect anything from this Lampard side, if we were still under Potter I would have said well we could do something but us under Lampard gives me no hope, I have no hope of us winning any game since he took over, this Arsenal may not be looking as good as they were some months ago but they will surely run us down to the ground tomorrow, we haven't beaten them in a long time and things won't change now that we are even worse than before. I knew the inexperienced team would be drained along the process, as the team lacked depth.Players are the same for every game, there are no solid backups, and it is impossible to get toe to toe with mancity that way.
If Chelsea managed to win and then went on an unbeaten run until the end of the season then it will remembered as the time Lampard and his team completely ended the title hopes of the London rivals Arsenal. I would not write Chelsea off just yet because they might at the very least get a draw.

I see people blaming it on the lack of strikers, the lack of a good defense and stuff like that. And that's horseshit because they've signed good players like Mudryk, Koulibaly, Felix, hell even Gallagher is good as long as you play him properly. You can't just buy anyone you like and expect them to just fit in the system.

A complete and total breakdown of tactical play is why they are struggling to win games big time, and I don't see that just changing overnight next season. Which is bad for them, because they risk becoming another Spurs.

You made some good points here, but I don't see us staying down like Spurs or becoming Liverpool before the Klopp era, we are known for picking up quickly, we have the players now it's up to the club to make a hire someone experienced enough to trim the player size into manageable numbers and give them sort of motivations to his young players, it's difficult to adapt under four managers in a short period of time, i honestly blamed the owners for our mess this season,We did it properly in 2015, and I believe we can do it again.
The problem is when Ferguson left Manchester United everybody thought they were too good to struggle and would be back to their winning ways soon but that never happened. 10 years after he retired Manchester United have been lost without a proper structure. Temporary moments of success came but they never had the same energy.

I think it is the same for Chelsea, if they do sort out their issues within the next two seasons they will face years trying to finish the season in 8th or 9th position. Chelsea can no longer by players and win the Premier League, that time was 2003 and it was possible under Abramovich bankrolling the team and it continued for nearly 20 years until Abramovich was removed from Chelsea. With the excellent squad they have now, if they do not make a successful challenge for the Premier League next season I think they will be floating around mid-table for many years to come.
1766  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2022/2023 on: May 01, 2023, 06:18:49 PM
Tottenham have a world class stadium and are located in one of the best cities in the world but their team just keeps on underperforming on a regular basis. They have a lot of potential but they are not good enough for a top four finish this season.

Kane needs to move on to a new club before he realises he has no suitors and retires with no domestic trophies with his club Tottenham.

Here is Richarlison teaching Son how to do it, I forgot about that dance  Grin

It's called "Dancing Pigeon Syndrome", and one remedy for the disease would be to ban the celebration at stadiums (Richalison LOL) Grin

Anyway, fucking wild over there. Even Klopp pulled a hamstring celebrating that last goal. Unfortunately, Champions League spots will be out of our reach unless Manchester United collapse spectacularly like how Spurs did, which is not happening because... they are not Spurs. But at least we are almost guaranteed to finish 5th with Europa League as long as we win the rest of our games.
1767  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2022/2023 on: May 01, 2023, 10:41:36 AM
When Kane scored the first Tottenham goal and Son hit the post with his left foot curler, it was going to be uncomfortable for Liverpool even they were still winning 3-1 at that stage. Tottenham played well to make it 3-3 but that back pass by Lucas Moura (who as a striker should have been nowhere near the defence at that stage) allowed Jota to score.

Having said that should Jota have stayed on the pitch after that high kick when he hit Oliver Skipp in the head? Should it have been a red card instead of the yellow card he received?

Overall, Tottenham could have walked away with a point after being 3-0 down but they ended up losing the game.
1768  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2022/2023 on: April 30, 2023, 09:35:12 PM
What on earth is going on at Tottenham. They were losing 3-0 after 15 minutes but made the score 3-3 during time added on but as soon as they equalised, Liverpool came back and scored a fourth goal in the 90th + 4 minute to win the game 4-3. That loss must have hurt badly.

As for Manchester City they soaked up the pressure and put it back on Arsenal. If Chelsea cause problems for Arsenal when they meet on Tuesday and they end up with a loss or draw then you would expect Manchester City to increase their lead at the top of the table. The inexperience of the young Arsenal squad eventually showed before the season ended just as how I thought it would.

Manchester City's winning against Fulham and taking the lead can create some pressure over Arsenal players' shoulders a little. But Arsenal just can't go on like this until the end of the season. They have made pretty amateurish mistakes on the recent weeks and risked their championship a lot. I don't even see them making it to the title anymore after losing to Manchester City as well.

But at least it must be time to finish this winless streak by their upcoming fixture. It is a home match against Chelsea. We all know how bad Chelsea are now. They have completely given up this season already and it has been a long time since they got their last win in the Premier League. They couldn't even score a goal in most of their recent matches. Arsenal don't have scoring issues while there are weaknesses in defense. But still I expect nothing different than an Arsenal win in this match.  Smiley
1769  Economy / Reputation / Re: Discussion on buying/selling accounts/users actively seeking possible bought acc on: April 30, 2023, 09:29:00 PM
I really do understand your views and the views of others that say those from underprivileged backgrounds should or should not receive a tag based on their reason for buying the account. As there would be almost zero chance in ascertaining the truth from the account buyer in the verification process, it would be an impossible task trying to determine.

There is no guarantee greed will not get the better of any person when he/she/they control multiple alt-accounts. If they feel they can do it once and get away with enrolling once in a signature campaign then they will probably try to do it again. In the end they will try to enrol as many accounts as possible on as many signature campaigns as possible therefore the pity and mitigation factors rightly disappear.

Maybe this is one of those conversation that will continue to be had many years from now unless things change and there is solid consensus about how to treat account buying and selling.

Having multiple accounts is allowed, so I cannot really be upset about a person owning and using multiple accounts. The place I start to have an issue is when cheating comes into the scenario. If they have 1 in stake, 1 in duelbits, 1 in a mixer campaign etc, then it's fine. We all know that's not the case because it has been proven over the years that too many try to cheat.

Let's say they own 25 accounts and somehow manage to get them all in stakes sig campaign. That's 4k a week they could earn. 16k a month. We really have no way of detecting them unless people start searching. So it's a small fortune they can earn and live like kings in their countries.

So, while i'm neutral in some cases I can see why others are way against it. How do we make it better? That's the big question and when you break it down the answer is probably just don't allow sales.

These are the results from the games played today:

Bournemouth 4-1 Leeds United
Fulham 1-2 Manchester City
Manchester United 1-0 Aston Villa
Newcastle United 3-1 Southampton
Liverpool 4-3 Tottenham Hotspur

Things seem to go from bad to worse for Tottenham whereas Liverpool are making a late push to at least qualify for the Europa League by trying to finish 5th at the end of the season. They moved up to 5th now but if Brighton win their games in hand they will push Liverpool down to 6th.

Manchester City overcame Fulham and are now sitting a point clear at the top of the Premier League and also have one game in hand, they are overwhelming favourites to be crowned Champions again. Newcastle United and Manchester United ended up winning their games continue to chase a 3rd place finish to the season.

These are the results from the games played yesterday:

Crystal Palace 4-3 West Ham United
Brentford 2-1 Nottingham Forest
Brighton and Hove Albion 6-0 Wolverhampton Wanderers

Yes that drama surrounding that particular banned member and his known alt-accounts as well as the backing he was given by various members (and a campaign manager) was an eye opener. For example, that banned member used an alt-account posting about other forum members that had alt-accounts therefore was a hypocrite and that was just one issue related to him.

I believe he had other alt-accounts that were not caught out by members. but if it were not for the vigilance of several members (as you pointed out with the link), none of the associated alt-accounts would have been exposed.

My friend The Sceptical Chymist was right when he stated: If you're really looking to catch alt accounts for whatever reason, it's these little quirks of writing that give them away sometimes.

While I do not know how to feel exactly on using this kind of evidence to connect accounts, I cannot argue about how it was been effectively used in the past to catch certain person.

1772  Economy / Reputation / Re: Discussion on buying/selling accounts/users actively seeking possible bought acc on: April 30, 2023, 06:06:42 PM
I don't necessarily agree with account sales, but I see why some users might want to buy an account. Stake pays high ranking accounts around $160 per week, which in some countries is considered as being pretty good money. Building an account from the ground up would take a user nearly 2 years to be able to earn that kind of money. If that was the only reason the account was bought, and there was no positive trust attached to the account then i'm ok with it. I'm not against anyone making money. The issue there is many account buyers are not going to stop at just 1 account, they would purchase or farm tens or hundreds of accounts and essentially cheat campaigns.

Then you toss in those that would look to purchase an account with lots of trust to try and pull off a big scam. That could be anything from an ICO scam, borrowing/lending scam, or opening a scam gambling website. It might be better to not allow sales IDK.
I understand your perspective but what you said was about having one account would be acceptable to you because the user/purchaser could really need that signature campaign income. If they do not stop at one (as you mentioned) then what would you say or think about the account buyers/sellers in that scenario?

Caught accounts, with proof that the account is not real with the owner, must be banned from wearing a signature, if not forever, then for any sufficient period so that the person can prove his interest in the forum.
I will not be arguing against that scenario at all and it will also act as a perfect deterrent.

If someone manages to get away without getting caught, then they will continue to use that account and post away to earn signature and bounty campaign income. They will probably avoid wanting to be detected/associated with other accounts therefore will conduct themselves in a non-nefarious manner and will probably not be a nuisance around here.

I'm not really against account buyers by themselves. Main problem is that it motivates hackers to steal someone else's accounts to sell them. And tolerance to that can lead to adverse effects. So account buying should be discouraged to reduce demand on hacked accs to buy. If the one will decide to start again and account buying was the only dark spot in his history then he can start from scratch I think, with clean trust.
It is not only about the alleged hacking. We just do not know what numbers are involved who end up not receiving payment for their old accounts that they stopped using. I presume buyers make deals to buy the associated email address and email password as well as account password and also a signed message from a known address stating change of new address in order to try to brush off any accusation of account trading.

There are no known or accurate statistics related to account trading or account farming therefore we do not know the actual scale of the impact it is having on the forum we all have a vested interest in protecting.
1773  Economy / Reputation / Re: Discussion on buying/selling accounts/users actively seeking possible bought acc on: April 29, 2023, 09:50:46 PM
I pretty much agree with your sentiments but the question that needs to be asked is: What is the solution?

If members sign up, build up their rank through contributing in the forum and receive merits along the way they are surely going about things in the correct manner whereas those buying accounts either purely for signature campaign income or for nefarious purposes are not.

If the deterrent of tagging sold/traded accounts is taken away or is deemed to be unreasonable by the majority (or stops being the norm), what can replace it in order to minimise the numbers?

Accounts buy is really a big, big shame. People buying an account should not get a reward by putting it into a signature campaign, such accounts should be trashed right away by negative feedback.
It is very hard for new members to earn a substantial amount of Merit for receiving a high rank. All Newbies have to earn a Merit for unique post.
People buying an account should get socially isolated and a negative feedback is overdue.
Shame on bought accounts.
Bought accounts are illegitimate.
We do not support it.

In light of a post in a different that recently mentioned the way a particular word was misspelt by a few accounts, I am linking the post here:
<snip>
Whooop!  That was a damn good catch by FatFork--and when I opened this thread I thought it was a new one with an accusation that I'd heard before.  But nope, it was the same one and was also a very good catch.  If you're really looking to catch alt accounts for whatever reason, it's these little quirks of writing that give them away sometimes.
Yes FatFork linked the "idea" with "ideal" and it seems to broadly correlate to some of the names already being mentioned as linked to the martyns farmed account. That was a good catch by him

And now when I think of AI-generated posts and such, I wonder if all that's going to change (or if it's already started).  Frightening prospect, no?
There have been some posts already reported by members that seem to have some sort of AI involved and they have been discussed. It is definitely a frightening prospect as we approach a new frontier in technology, things are only going to get more complicated not only in the forum but of course in every day life as the technology is implemented in our regular day to day lives.
1775  Economy / Reputation / Re: Changed language in history. Bought? Hacked? on: April 29, 2023, 09:06:21 PM
Does that mean the benefit of the doubt should be given to those that seem to be suffering from the "Kelvin De Bruyne" syndrome?  Grin

...
Are the members that were listed by FatFork the only ones using the word ideal instead of idea (regardless of pidgin or not)? If most of the Nigerian local board are not making that error then it could be isolated to that group mentioned by FatFork and the issue suspicion is rightly attributed to them.
...

Quick forum search in Nigeria (Naija) section says that majority knows the word idea (dozens of results) and there is one person who uses the word ideal instead. But it proves nothing this way I guess.

I'm not sure about that one. Based on the phrasing, it's possible that both "idea" and "ideal" could fit semantically in the sentence mentioned. "Idea" typically refers to a concept or thought, while "ideal" refers to something perfect or optimal. So, when he said "the ideal of stable coins emerged after Bitcoin was created to solve issues related to volatility," even though "idea" seems like a better fit, "ideal" could also work in this context.

1776  Economy / Reputation / Re: Discussion on buying/selling accounts/users actively seeking possible bought acc on: April 29, 2023, 10:48:47 AM
The martyns web of connections seem to increase the more his account is looked in to. I wonder if it will be a more prolific farming ring than what figmentofmyass was operating.

You are right, as far as I can recall by far the majority of the sold/hacked accounts do get some sort of tag. I feel probably both negative and neutral tags in this case will not be heavily contested even by most of those that have previously felt some form of pity for martyns.

I wonder what comments others will make about your strategy because it effectively means a blanket ban for buying/selling accounts and dismisses by default any notion of mitigation (and any sympathy along with it). Will account sales ever be accepted, I doubt it but there could be exceptional circumstances we have not contemplated yet.
It's basically what DT has done with sold or hacked accounts in the past. Not a ban but a negative trust. So yes, people can buy / sell accounts but it will get tagged.
I believe once a sold or hacked account has been detected, there's a 99% chance, that the account will get tagged, if there is sufficient proof.
However, I'm always giving everyone the benefit of doubt.
For the case here of martyns, I've only submitted a neutral trust so far but I might change it into negative, considering his lies and involvement in other abuses. The negative trusts on his accounts are very valid.
And it's quite funny that sold or hacked accounts are often involved in various abuses, isn't it?
Maybe account buyers aren't so innocent as suggested here by a few members...
1777  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2022/2023 on: April 29, 2023, 09:51:03 AM
These are the games taking place today:

Crystal Palace vs West Ham United
Brentford vs Nottingham Forest
Brighton and Hove Albion vs Wolverhampton Wanderers

If Brentford and Brighton win today they will both remain in the hunt for a Europa League position and that is very good progress considering the clubs are relatively small in comparison to the Premier League giants. As for West Ham, they continue to pull away from the relegation zone and also Crystal Palace have improved immensely since they sacked their manager Vieira.

The remaining games for Arsenal are like these:

- Chelsea (H)
- Newcastle (A)
- Brighton (H)
- Nottingham (A)
- Wolves (H)

Technically all of the games are quite winnable except the one against Newcastle. Because Newcastle are in a very solid shape these days. They started to obtain very big victories when we take their last five league games into account. Arsenal couldn't win against them in Emirates either. This makes me think like Arsenal are quite probable to have a point loss in this one.

However even if Arsenal win all of the rest of their games it is still too difficult for them to win the PL title indeed. Manchester City don't have any concentration issues while competing for 2 big titles at the same time - PL and CL. Their having 2 missing games is making things easier for them to take the lead soon. I will still be appreciating Arsenal's huge effort and it'll be lovely to watch them in the CL next season.
Arsenal had the chance to take the Premier League title, maybe they still can do it Manchester City slip up. They dropped too many points recently as they felt the pressure and basically could not handle it.

I expect Newcastle United to beat Arsenal but do expect them to also drop points against Brighton too.
1778  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2022/2023 on: April 29, 2023, 07:40:07 AM
Back when Abramovich was the Chelsea owner, he would regularly fire managers every season or two and the squad's performance has stayed mostly intact for most of his tenure. So clearly, the manager run-in is not the problem. The problem is with the players that are chosen to start together. Chelsea plays a 3-4-2-1 so if you're not starting players who are good in that system, of course shit will hit the fan.
Chelsea have had that many starting formations over the past season that we all have lost count. They brought in too many players during the time the new owners came in and I think it backfired. The new owners won over the fans by splashing the cash and showing their intent but is all simply backfired. Owners bringing in players without the consent or advice of the manager is a recipe for disaster and that is why they pushed Tuchel out. Sacking Tuchel did not help even though many of the players gave up on playing for him.

The system definitely is/was flawed but good players always find a way to at least to an acceptable level. I cannot foot all the blame with Potter because in the end the players go out there and perform but Potter was never the right man for the job, the club was too big for him and his lack of experience showed.

Felix and Mudryk, they have not really performed but you can put it down to the moving to a new country and new league but they cannot have an excuse next season.

A complete and total breakdown of tactical play is why they are struggling to win games big time, and I don't see that just changing overnight next season. Which is bad for them, because they risk becoming another Spurs.
They have to sell most of the excess squad and get back to basics. Once their new manager is announced (and it looks like Todd Boehly has managed to talk Mauricio Pochettino in to becoming their manager and they have a verbal agreement), things will change. If the rumours are true, they will make a bid to buy Kane from his ex-club Tottenham.

1779  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2022/2023 on: April 28, 2023, 09:41:59 PM
I don't understand what people think Chelsea could change with the arrival of lampard, I see a lot of criticism about him.
I would say a lot of the criticism is justified, after all if he cannot even get desired results then he is the one who has to answer the fans, the owners and the media about the failure. He failed with Chelsea twice as manager and also failed at Everton. He had success at Derby as manager but he quit his job just as they were on the verge of a return to the Premier League via the play-offs and the irony is if he had stayed maybe he would been offered the Chelsea job a few years down the line and it could have all turned out very differently.

Still, I think Arsenal's accomplishments should be acknowledged and next couple of years seem bright for them.
Arsenal definitely have potential that cannot be denied but they still did not win anything this season. I am not confident they will challenge next season on multiple fronts such as the Premier League and Champions League but full credit to them for pushing Manchester City right to the end in the Premier League.
