i wonder how much a CPU mining rig would cost with xeon processors, it would atleast be a fun build Cheesy

The only reason to build one would be to mine Primecoin. Quark and a bunch of other algos that were cpu only can be mined with sgminer now using GPUs.

1863  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Mazacoin ** FAKE Sovereign Currency ** on: March 11, 2014, 04:41:28 AM
At least we got some publicity out of it for the alt coin world. Lets hope it brings more people into this mess.

I like the story at the beginning. It would make a good sci-fi script.  Grin

So I decided to mine this one.

dev is offline and no word from him and mining does not work, coin stuck on block 8, nice launch  Grin
he's not the dev.i posted in the original op that i didn't have time to release it. iposted it on github about an hour ago, first come first serve. looks like someone tried to mine it with a gpu and forked it.

Yeah, I noticed that he copied your coin. Since you were first I'm going to go with your release when it happens.

Not going to mine this copycopy  Grin

Will wait on my free coins

May have been funnier if you said 8675309 BTC..but I digress. LOL either way :-)

nice, I wonder how many got that one.
1868  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: GoldBars 2 name? on: March 10, 2014, 05:50:56 PM
Bitbullion

I was going to say that one.

But the real name for this is foolsgold.

1869  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Faircoin - The First Fairly Distributed COIN -Vote for us on exchanges! on: March 10, 2014, 04:32:07 PM
lol, coin launched 4 days ago and all coins are gone. This has to be the least fair coin I have ever seen. If it was so fair you would be able to get free coins for years, to really spread the funds out.

Hmm.. that is a good idea, the only problem is that with this method one could cheat with multiple IP addresses. Most people had two, mobile and home. There must be a way to distribute coins more fairly.

Why even bother anymore? IPO=scam coin

Stop it you douche bags.

No one is going to get their coins if no one mines.

Please publish mining pool info (URL, port number) and I will put one of my GPUs on it right now.

I'm just soloing. 10 minute block targets OMG! lol..
1873  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Faircoin - The First Fairly Distributed COIN -Vote for us on exchanges! on: March 09, 2014, 03:45:55 PM
The blockchain ins't moving. The idiots who don't read and  just started to mine must have all jumped off after bringing the difficulty up. Its stuck at 3.25907968 now.

I'm going to point one of my rigs at it for a while and see if I can bring it down somewhat. Also no one is going to get their coins if no one mines.

1874  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Faircoin - The First Fairly Distributed COIN -Vote for us on exchanges! on: March 09, 2014, 03:38:07 PM
I think this coin is fair like every other Coin which was distributed that way!
The more you have the fairer is it for you.
People who will get in touch with this coin after the distribution will not say that it is fair.

PMC: come early and have sock puppets =  at least 1% of the total supply
Coin2: be on Facebook and have many friends there =  at least 1% of the total supply
Faircoin: be unemployed figure out ways to make mor than 1 token at a time = at least 1% of the total supply

plus the huge question mark whether and how much wallets the dev owns

Yeah I missed the first two as well. By your post it looks like you missed out on all 3. Sure wish I had posted my Premine  coin address for some coins to TEST as it was just a test when it was released.

Throwin' some megahashes at it. The difficulty is slow to re-target so orphan fest now. yay!!  Grin

Instamine is over. There really never was one with this coin. Good launch.

Oh, I should also mention. The .9% premine is too much.

Its working fine. Stop complaining about orphans and rejects, that is how a coin should start. Not with that stupid KGW crap.

1878  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [HVC] Heavycoin - CPU-only, Ultra-secure, Decentralized Voting on: March 08, 2014, 03:02:36 PM
I found one block worth zero and two blocks worth 657 so far with 280 cores.

lucky you, how much does it cost to get 280 cores?

Plenty! I built a CPU farm and GPU farm instead of buying asics. So far it has paid off pretty well.

Still uploading.  It's hard to say when it will be complete.  We've already had a couple (anonymous) uploads reset and we had to start over.  Only one more to go now.

Thanks for your patience!

Up to now I have been telling everyone to give you the benefit of the doubt, but that explanation doesn't make sense. You can up the files to one of a dozen temporary locations.

They are either incompetent, or stealing...isn't either one bad?

Either way, it shows the coin is a failure. Developers practically ruined their career in crypto development with this failed launch. One hour to upload a wallet file? That's a flat out damn lie and all of you know it.

WAKE UP! these are not devs its the same guys that did StackCoin, this coin and that coin. Lots of IPO scams since they started. Blame the 2nd gen coins for starting this trend. Destroy them all! kill the devs! Witches!! burn them!!!!!

Did somebody wet the bed this morning?

Shit ya got me. I'm a peeyer  Embarrassed
