1861  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for March on: March 06, 2023, 05:03:58 PM
Personally I think there are many events that may or may not reverse the bullish trend for bitcoin to break through the major resistance at $25k, seemingly waiting for a response of
1. Silvergate
2. Mtgox
3. CPI  US February
4. FED adjusts interest rates.
Therefore, volatility will be fast but I guess the up/down won't be much.  Therefore, I think bitcoin is likely to cross $25k for the third time this year but it will close at 23k5 in march.  Probably not

It could be, but if I may add:

1. Silvergate - I think the issue or the effect of this news has subsided already, yes it did put a dent, but not that much, we are still above $20k, $22,500 as of this writing.
2. Mt. Gox - I'm still on the fence if this will really be a big factor for this month or even for the next 6 months as it supposedly be paying out
3. CPI - For March, we will have to see, and just like the other CPI, if there is a pivot then it will be good for us, if the numbers goes up, maybe we can go down again, but it's not going to be like for a month, maybe a week and that's it, buyers be like buying again
4. FED - same with with I mentioned above, it's all about the numbers

$25k will still be the our biggest barrier that we need to break, but with the current might, it might be difficult again. So I expect some kind of sideway pattern until we have a break out run.
1862  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: crypto market has grown in africa on: March 06, 2023, 04:34:26 PM
While reading some articles, Just found the headline "Crypto market has grown in Africa by 1200%". The greatest opportunity for the people of Africa to discover more about crypto and new web3 technology. Moreover, there is a chance that people would also start paying and accepting crypto.

Maybe the article you read in somewhat outdated? and that numbers was around the bull run in 2021,

Quote
n a report released on Tuesday, Chainalysis said Africa’s crypto market increased in value by more than 1,200% between July 2020 and June 2021, with high adoption in Kenya, South Africa, Nigeria and Tanzania. The company added that the popularity of P2P platforms could have been one of the driving factors toward greater crypto adoption in the region, given some countries have restricted or banned residents from sending money to exchanges through local banks.

According to Chainalysis, the entire continent received $105.6 billion worth of crypto between July 2020 and June 2021. Yet, it had a share of the market’s overall transaction volume made up of “retail-sized transfers” larger than any other region in the world — roughly 7% as opposed to the 5.5% global average. In addition, P2P platforms — including Paxful and LocalBitcoins — account for 1.2% of all crypto transactions in Africa.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/africa-s-crypto-market-has-grown-by-more-than-1-200-since-2020-chainalysis

So it make sense that time that it will grow tremendously because of the bull run, so it might be interesting what will be the numbers today. But I wouldn't be surprised if the numbers keeps growing, and maybe it could also be use by the continue as remittance as Nigeria ranks in the top 10 amongst global money remittances.

Even Binance P2P Supports New Payment Methods for African Countries. So for sure, it's really untapped sector right now and it's value will increased overtime.
1863  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: March 06, 2023, 04:08:10 PM
Fight is officially declared to happen May 7 in Japan, at Yokohama Arena. In this is Inoue's home town to expect that the arena will sell off, 17,000 sits are available so it's almost the same as MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. It will be carry by ESPN+ in the US. This is Fulton's first fight outside of the US and he is very much game about it as he wants to travel to Japan and beat their champion. Its a different venue though where Inoue knockout Donaire, it is the Saitama Super Arena. So let's wait for the odds to be released by out favorite sports bookies. But I will not be surprised if Fulton as the champion will be the underdog in this fight.
1864  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Figueroa vs Magsayo WBC Interim Featherweight Title (March 4) on: March 06, 2023, 03:54:16 PM
Some people do not agree with the scorecards, as it seems like the gap is very big. Too bad for Magsayo, as he got deducted twice for score violations, but overall, his performance was not convincing, and Figueroa deserves to win. Magsayo needs to train more and probably change his boxing style, as his career is slowly going down.

I definitely agree that Figueroa deserves that win but i don't think the gap on the scorecards is justifiable. In the unofficial scorecards of the commentators, they scored it 114-112 in favor of Figueroa and if not for the point deductions, it could have been a draw in the unofficial scorecards and that point deduction by the ref is also questionable as he did not warn Magsayo not to hold or whatever that warrant a deduction if he keeps on doing it.

Anyways, that's boxing and it's understandable that the ref and judges will favor Figueroa as he is more popular in the US, also Mark Magsayo was not so impressive in that fight.

Congrats to the Figueroa backers here and if my memory is right, that should be 2.xx for Figueroa to win via decision.

I have it 115-111 in favor of Brandon Figueroa. But that scoring though is questionable. Anyways, time to move on, yes Figueroa deserves to win no doubt about it as we have seen he has more left in the tank specially in the championship rounds wherein he step up to finished the show.

I think Magsayo should take a rest for now, back to back lost in very hard to recover from.

Go back to the Philippines for now and reset everything.

maybe the feeling of weight drain got on magsayo in the later rounds. but in any case, a lot of users from the forum are rooting for magsayo, but don't know if they actually betted on him. magsayo knew he should have done something more on this fight. the scorecards are also way too wide for me. even with point deductions. so this fight should serve magsayo an inspiration for his next fight and do what he thinks would rise his standing in this division.

That's what I suspected, the weight issue might have taken it's effect on the fight in the later round that Magsayo was really out of gas and seems to be just hanging to survived. The first deduction, yeah I agree, but with the second, not sure though, Brandon too was doing excessive holding, but referee didn't do anything. And by the looks of the scorecard, one judge, score all of the final nine rounds for Figueroa, while the two judges sscored eight of the last nine rounds, doesn't make sense at all. But it is what it is though, I know that almost everyone is disappointed to see Mark Magsayo lose this one, but it should be close in the cards, just saying.  He is still young I know, but this kind of lost will take a lot, and might take sometime for him to recover mentally, and yes he should get a tune up in his next fight and see how it goes, if he can bounce back and rediscover his power again.
1865  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Tony Harrison vs Tim Tszyu - Mar 13, 2023 on: March 06, 2023, 03:39:26 PM
Just another update for this fight, face off already at Sydney Harbour

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mxr-n6N3W_k

Harrison is taller, but it seems that it's hot in Australia right now and who knows, this might affect him. The odds hasn't change that much though, still Tim Tszyu is the outstanding favorite here. And I see that this is going to be tough for Tim, but in a sense a blessing in disguise if he can come up the victor here as it might serve as a good experience to handle a fighter that beat Charlo. And style wise, I think Tim can win in a grueling 12 round decision, and Harrison doing all the tricks in the book to test Tim, his chin his body and his mental strength.
1866  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Devin Haney vs Vasiliy Lomachenco - May 20 on: March 06, 2023, 03:29:57 PM

In this fight,I expect to see something new from Loma.He has been appearing in the media quite a bit lately and I hope that he will prepare a big surprise for his fans, Loma knows how to surprise in the ring.He needs a resounding victory to talk about him again and I I think he will succeed.

What new things can we expect from him? I thought he had won all his fights after his defeat against Teofimo Lopez, which means he is still the same Loma who uses technical skills in the ring. Haney should be ready for Loma, although he looks strong, Loma is always prepared to face anyone, whether the favorite to win or the underdog.

Good point, if everything that we should expect, it might be that he will be better that his last outing. I mean with the Ortiz fight, we says that it was a different Loma that we have saw, and we have our own speculations as why he performed like that, specially the effects of the war in him, in his psychology. Nevertheless, he took the win and most likely knows what the people is saying specially his critics after that fight. So he must prepared 110% against Haney because it's going to be a different fight, specially that the unified belts is on the line here. But we all know that great and elite boxers rise to the occasion in this fight of high level fight and that could be the case of Loma here.

If might be that Ortiz is:

1. too big for Loma that time, Ortiz looks very much a natural welterweight in that fight, the different is very evident.
2. perhaps Loma hasn't adjusted that time, yeah, maybe he is thinking of his native country, so there is a distraction.
3. not sure as well if his father is in his corner or even train him for this fight. His fighter has guided him throughout his career.

But as you have said, if there is something that Loma can do here, it is to raise his level of fighting because of the stakes. He always said he wanted to unify the belt or at least achieved it. And so with this fight, it could be extra motivation for him. He might be the underdog is this fight, but obviously he will be a live one and Haney can't just be overconfident in this fight, just saying.
1867  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 06, 2023, 03:19:35 PM
Knicks be killing it.  No brunson on the road in Boston, no problem.  Knicks are becoming the team in the east no one wants to face in the playoffs.  History aside this team is winning in so many different ways.  Inside, outside, defense, etc.  Last night's thriller in Boston was amazing.  What a crazy game. Onward and upward from here.  Really think the 3 hole is attainable.

Yes, I thought that they are going to lose this game because they are facing a though team, and it took them 2 OT for the Knicks to squeeze that big win and maintain their position in the East. Just half a game behind the Cavs, but I think they shouldn't be concern of their position for now, just play the best of the remaining games and see how they will go, 3rd good be the highest they can get for now.

The return of Steph was spoiled by the Lakers, they cut the lead by 2 by Donte's two assists, but then Davis put the game for good. 39 big points for Anthony Davis.

And finally the curse of Russell Westbrook was broken, finally won against Memphis without Ja Morant start of his 2 game suspensions. Not sure if this is just the beginning for Morant or he might serve longer suspension because of that video.
1868  Economy / Gambling / Re: they are scamming us? on: March 05, 2023, 11:54:12 PM
We really like to play gambling online , and there are lot of crypto gambling sites out there ,
many times i doubted the provably fair system,  that these casinos are cheating me, but what can i do ,
i come across this YouTube video that a biggest gambling site supervisor telling the truth about these sites,
that they analyze our bets and try to make us lose ,
what are your thoughts ,
i know provably system but many times i doubted it, i don't know this person is talking about crypto gambling or not but may be it also applies in crypto gambling.
most of you also may doubted the casino ,
video:https://youtu.be/ABj7peI_R2M

It's gambling per se, you everything is base on luck, and of course there is what we call the house edge - a inbuilt mechanism in casinos that will give them favor, specially in you play long hours and it's going to be very difficult to beat than, unless you are "Lucky".

For provably fair system, you will have to check every casino on how they get the result in let's say a roll of a dice to see if it is really random or not. And if you know you are going to lose, then why gambling in the beginning? My point is that you have to understand how casino operates before you put your first bet and if you lose then maybe it's not your lucky day, or you may want to check how provably fair that casino is, or at least their games.
1869  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jon Jones vs Ciryl Gane on: March 05, 2023, 11:41:10 PM
I hope you guys took my prediction and put some money on Jones by submission.
Yes this was the logical choice after I saw the official weigh in. The size difference between the two wasn't as big as I had anticipated. Gane's size would have given him that significant edge in heavy striking but I didn't see that.

Good choice on Jones utilizing his well-rounded game.

Yes, the experience of Jones really showed in this fight, better ring IQ and when he started to relax and open up and go for that take down, it was over for Gane.

I will love to see Jones vs Miocic, Jones wanted him and even said that Stipe is better than Gane.

And Dana loves that match up too, so we will definitely see Jones fighting again maybe in December, I reckon.
1870  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 05, 2023, 11:28:24 PM
^ Yes, it's going to be difficult to see another clash of Filipinos, but if Donaire has to do it again, knocking this kid out, then he has to do it.

And there is another one right, Vincent Astrolabio, who seems to be a journeyman but now he is rated in 3/4 bodies and will go and fight for the belt as well. So a lot of Filipinos in this division as it is very suited for their height and weight. Would be interesting if we have 2 out of 4 Filipinos holding the belt, not sure if this has happen before.
Not sure as well, but if remember it right Donaire and Casimero holds same weight right? I mean the time when Casimero still the champ he was with Inoue, Donaire and him, I remember way back that he's challenging Inoue but the monster choose to have a rematch with Donaire and Butler was the one who schedule for Casimero but due to failure to meet the required weight he has been stripped.

Not sure if that's relevant, but anyway, I also wanted to see more Pinoys to hold the belt and be that title holder from this division.

Yes, and Casimero even trash talks Donaire and they almost made it to a fight until it was scrap and then both became friendly.

It's fitting for Pinoy in this weight classes or even the lower division. But it seems that we have lost a some champions already, Magsayo failed in his attempt for a interim belt. Anyhow, at least in this weight class we have two Pinoy vying for a belt so that is good enough for us, and hopefully even 1 win will be huge pride for the country again.
1871  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple and SEC Are Friends! Ugly Truth! on: March 05, 2023, 11:02:12 PM
I just smell some shilling on this post, Lol. Both are in a battle in court so how can they be friends and who are going to benefit from this so called friendship?

As for not following Bitcoin, yeah, there are some coins that might not follow lead price of bitcoin but it doesn't mean that some powerful entity are behind it. Just might be for days and then it can go back and follow the price of bitcoin again.

I'm so sorry but I'm not buying this @OP.
1872  Economy / Speculation / Re: When you're so inlove with BTC on: March 05, 2023, 10:51:57 PM
I guess when you get something out of a product, not just specially bitcoin, you will definitely feel in love with it. But in any case this is my personal reasons

1. profits, obviously, when you trade or simply hold bitcoin for years, it will give you a huge ROI
2. and with that, you gain financial freedom, as you have the money right now to buy things that you wanted
3. it's the wait, the delayed gratification, in the beginning, I don't have this kind of mentality, but as I mature in this market, I developed this ability, and so I not only apply it in bitcoin, but also in other facets of life
4. Investments, again it's the same, although I have stocks investment prior of me joining the market, but still I learn to diversify my money

1874  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 05, 2023, 10:31:10 PM
For east I still think that Bucks and Celtics are way too better compared to everyone else. Sure the wins may not look like the difference is staggering, but it is actually much bigger than what it shows there. First of all Bucks missed Giannis and Kris for a long time, so that is one reason, and Celtics had a coaching change at the start of the season after a finals year so that was one of the reasons as well.

All in all I am guessing that the best thing to do right now is to wait and see how they will be during playoffs because during regular season it's obvious that they are one level above everyone else. This is for only east conference of course, there are some good teams coming from west too.

The Bucks are definitely on top and record says what it is but I think the Celtics have holes.  I don't like teams who are reliant on theor outside shooting.  Too many series to get through, a couple cold games and they get booted.  Will be an interesting game tonight Celtics vs knicks.  Knicks defense has been great as of late.  Might not have brunson which will be a huge loss for the Knicks.  East I think it's Bucks tier one.  Tier 2- Philly, Celtics, cavs and knicks.  Tier 3: Atlanta, Miami Toronto.  Then everyone else...yep including the Nets they will probably drop into the play in games.

I think Celtics holes could be their 3 point shooting, they fell in love with it, and so if their outside shots are not going in, they might have a problem with that. As for the Bucks, they obviously have Giannis, but if there is a player that can match his physicality like what Joel Embid did to him in their last game, putting a hard defense on him and bodied him specially in the 4th quarter, then they might lose a game which they did. The question is how many players in the league right now can match up against Giannis in the post?
1875  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 05, 2023, 10:21:03 PM
Here's my pick:

Clippers vs Memphis - I think with Ja Morant out, the Clippers will finally end their losing streak, -6.5 @1.89
Magic vs Portland - Orlando -1.5 @1.82, gonna be fun to watch this game as both teams needed a win
1876  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: March 05, 2023, 10:11:13 PM
^^ Right, and if my memory serves me right, he again reinjured his hands against Josesito Lopez. And it was really a tough war coming back from injuries and fighting the likes of Lopez who just wants to throw volume and put a hurt on his opponents, hehehe. And I will say it was really a bad move on their camp to pick him, although they might think that Thurman is soft coming back from a injury picking lesser opponents, but it did back fire on him big time. I'm not saying that Lopez ruined Thurman, but it was really a bad choice.
1877  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Caleb Plant vs David Benavidez on: March 05, 2023, 09:58:15 PM
^^ Yes, that is only one thing if you started at a weight class of like 168-175 lbs, you have to  clean up your division first because you can only go as high as you body will allow you to. Unlike those who have started in much lower class, then can go to 5 division up and become a champion.

Yes, he is taller than Bivol but you can see his body is very different. Bivol seems to be natural 175 lbs, but he says he can go down to 168 lbs. While David physique is somewhat different in my opinion, if he will add pounds to his body, it seems to be more on his "stomach" and not pure muscle. Even at 168 lbs he is more weight around his belly.

1879  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: March 05, 2023, 09:16:58 PM
In the beginning there were 3 venues considered for this fight, and then it was cut to 2 when they say that it will be in Vegas, so it's either

a. T-Mobile Arena - 22,000 sitting capacity
b. MGM Grand Garden Arena - 17,000 sitting capacity

So base on that numbers alone, I wouldn't be surprised if T-Mobile will be their obvious choice.

But we will have to see on the press conference.
1880  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 05, 2023, 04:53:25 AM
My picks for tonight.

Miami Heat vs Atlanta Hawks = Atlanta Hawks Win 2,00 Odds.

Milwaukee Bucks (-4.5) vs Philadelphia 76ers = Milwaukee Bucks Win 1,84 Odds.
 Sad
Good luck guys.

I'll tail with the Bucks bet mate, I think it will be a hard game against the Sixers, but Milwaukee will maintain their winning streak here.

Kings vs the Wolves - back to back from both teams, but I will give the edge to the Kings playing at home, -4.5 @1.89

Heat vs Hawks - Atlanta 2.5 @1.89.

I'm not going to any parlays tonight.
That ends the streak of the Milwaukee Bucks. Sorry guys, they lost. James Harden and Joel Embiid were both on fire. Plus, the defense on Giannis Antetokounmpo by Joel Embiid especially in the last minute of the game was amazing. He didn't back down, absorbed every bump of the Greek Freak, and stayed on his feet. That was good, I love witnessing strong defense even from offensive guys.

I am 1 out of 2 now. Watching the Kings game right now, adding more bets while they are down by 9. The Wolves offense seems to be getting better as they are dominating a known offensive team like the Kings.

Yeah, I think I'm done right now, not going to chase my loses, I have another loses in another sports  Sad

So bad day for me, it was really a good game between the Bucks and the Sixers, going into the 4th quarter, both Joel and Harden switch gears.

It was really a good defense by Joel on me, maybe trying to send signals to Giannis as well even if they are on the road.
