1981  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what is your reason for gifting bitcoin on: February 23, 2023, 10:56:10 PM
If $300 worth of bitcoin is given to someone who doesn't have a job and have been looking for opportunity to invest in bitcoin.  Will it be possible for the person to focus on this investment without selling at the moment because of the present financial situation. I'm asking this question because of people who wish to gift bitcoin to people who are going through difficult financial challenge,  is there any need to give bitcoin as gift to people who need money to settle urgent financial problems.

Well if the person that you are going to gift bitcoin hasn't had a job, then what are the chances that he won't sell it after you give it to him?

So I will be on the fence here, although your intention is good, but he might be tempted in the future to sell it to bring food in the table for him and for his family, just saying.

Or bitcoin should only be given to those who can truly invest and yield profits.  Can you gift bitcoin to random people who may not make profit from it.

Again, it really depends on the individual, if the person knows a thing or two about investment then maybe he will treat bitcoin as such. But if the one that you gifted see bitcoin as money, then he might not hold for a long time.
1982  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: February 23, 2023, 10:44:17 PM
Yep, that's how he evolved after his very first close against Nonito, he has evolved even more after that. He learn how to phase and then read his opponent and even have the mentality to survived a fight eve if he has that injury already.

And we all know after that fight, he beat Donaire by knockout and same with Butler.

So he is still getting stronger and smarter in any fight and keeps on progressing. So for sure he will know a thing or two against Fulton because he is a great fighter. Inoue has that ability to absorb every strengths of his opponents.
Inoue is on his prime and that makes him an incredibly dangerous fighter, not only he has the intelligence and skill to adjust his fighting style, he still has the physical capabilities to absorb a massive amount of damage and do whatever he wants on the ring, so it is not surprising that despite being the challenger the many different boxing fans around the world think of him as the favorite on his fight against Fulton.
On the time that he's still climbing up the ladder which people around been seeing this young man does have a brittle chin but as we do go along into this fights then he had proved out that we were wrong.

Yes, but we haven't seen his chin tested early though, it was just Donaire who really broke the barriers literally when he fought Inoue the first time. He broke his orbital bone on that fight, but still Inoue tapping on his mentality to even become stronger in the later rounds even if he has suffered that.

Yes, we've seen on his recent fights that he had some tough time on knocking out opponent like Donaire and Butler which it didnt go as planned on having that early KO but still ending up on a win.

And then he get that experience, put it in his shoulders that's why the next time he fights Donaire it was a different result or any other boxer that he fought after that ended in a knock out win for him.
1983  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Caleb Plant vs David Benavidez on: February 23, 2023, 10:32:18 PM
For the latest odds, Caleb Plant is the underdog,

And so it seems that Benavidez power is the overwhelming reasons why he is big favorite, as for Caleb 3:1 underdog good already for a ML bet. I will agree with the odds maker, gonna be hard for Caleb to score a win against a hard hitting David Benavidez who has one mission, to have a fight with Canelo Alvarez in the future.

Plant might win some rounds in the beginning because of his experience hehe. However yes, very much similar to Canelo, it will be Benavidez's strength and his physical presence that will cause him to win this fight. It can also be argued that Benavidez has more strength and physical presence than Canelo.

True, David Benavidez is the bigger and way more stronger that Caleb Plant. There is an interview on one of Benavidez sparring partner and his prediction is that the fight will be a 5 rounder. I forget the name of the kid, he is still young though and has been David's main sparring partner for the last 4 or 5 fights of his according to Sr.

In that particular side, Benavidez really have that edge but considering that Plant also a former champ and have decent experienced fighting with different figthers, he might find ways to avoid any aggressive attempts coming from Benavidez. That prediction might be too much but who knows, if Benavidez will have that chance to box Plant then it can end as early as round 5.

Yeah, and not only that, that is sparring though, yes sparring partners can give their predictions but it's totally different when the main fighter in on the ring with someone that the sparring partner try to emulate. I think the one mentioned sparring partner here is Diego Pacheco, 21 year old super middleweight who has been in the camp of the Benavidez for a long time now.

And I don't think that David will long for early knock out, he said that he is going to punish Caleb so he might delay. He can go with the knock out early if it presents itself though. But I think it's going to be more than 5 round fight.
1984  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 23, 2023, 10:20:34 PM
Here's my pick:

Magic vs Pistons, - I'm taking the Magic -6.5 @1.86
Cavs vs Nuggets - I think Murray and Aaron Gordon is out in this game that's why the Cavs are the favorite -2.5 @ 1.90

I also took the parlay, @3.53.
1985  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 23, 2023, 10:09:06 PM
True, it won't help any, not that Pat is a bad player, but trying to replace Lonzo in the middle of the season with him is not a good choice in my opinion. Anyhow, Pat is a native Chicago so for sure he will be embrace by the fans and not expecting a big change for them for the better.

They are deep in the standings at 11th place and it will need a lot of effort from Lavine and DeRozan to move them. But I don't see them in the playoff for this season.
A big no to me too, I'd rather let Coby White or Caruso do the ball handling, they don't make a lot of mistakes in that section. No LaVine too, I have seen him made a lot of turnovers by handling the ball, he should become their catch and shoot type of guy. DeRozan might be better at protecting the ball than him.

That just shows how bad is the Chicago Bulls in this season because despite of the talent that the team has, they still are struggling to get ahead of their current standings because almost every one of them is like getting a successive injury and if they are healthy except for Lonzo, they kept on making mistakes and it's like they really don't know what they are doing. Their game is so unpredictable this season because of their inconsistency.

I agree, there was a big hype on Chicago when DeRozan was acquired, and then their piece it out together with Ball and Vecuvic but to be honest, it didn't work as designed as they are not that consistent in winning games.

They even acquired Dragic if I'm not mistaken, and then now Pat Bev and I do not see this two veterans bringing more to the table. They probably be patches and we all know that it won't work that way.
1986  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Figueroa vs Magsayo WBC Interim Featherweight Title (March 4) on: February 23, 2023, 09:52:02 PM
You guys are measuring the wrong way. Yes they might be both coming from a RECENT loss but lets look at both of their track records over years. Obviously Figueroa might have been on a bad luck streak just like Magsayo, but Magsayo's history is less flawed by a 1 fight (draw). So how does one even compare the two histories? Its hard to tell but Figueroa has been showing more weakness in the recent past, so my money is on Magsayo.

Just because he recently had some bad luck in his fight against Vargas and has finally gotten 1 loss does not make this an eventuality which will happen again. 24 wins 1 loss. Cmon.

But looking at the statistics, even though Figueroa has one draw, his knockout record is more impressive than Magsayo.  Besides, Figueroa is taller and has a reach advantage, if Figueroa mimic the strategy of Vargas, I believe Magsayo will have a huge problem in this fight.

I definitely agree! All boxers have their own failure in this industry and the good thing about them is that they aren't measured by the loss they had but with what they did after the loss they experienced. Both Figueroa and Magsayo came from an unfortunate situation, both boxers didn't want that for sure but they needed it because by that, they will be molded as a much better boxer. But since we are here speculating and putting some bets, my money also goes for Magsayo even if he will be listed as favorite, it will still be Magsayo.

When it comes to betting, I will also go with Magsayo not because I think he is a better boxer but because he is a fellow countryman, and I do that to show my support

That is if Figueroa can mimic the strategy of Vargas and give a hard time to Magsayo but we all know that Figueroa is more like an open book because he's been showing a lot of weaknesses lately than the latter. He might have a good KO ratio but when it comes to ring IQ, I will still side with Magsayo. While for my betting opinion and option, Magsayo is also a fellow countryman but I will bet on him not just because of that fact alone but because I do believe on his talent and that he will beat Figueroa.

Both have different styles and so I doubt that Brandon will mimic the style of Rey Vargas just to win. He has his own way or strategizing in this fight and fight Magsayo the way he knows it.

But for sure it will be his volume punching again, nothing will change a lot here, that's already what we call bread and butter, and that style has been working for him for many years except against Fulton who took all his best shots and received some as well.
1987  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think will happen once Hong Kong legalizes bitcoin? on: February 23, 2023, 09:42:33 PM
Some of you probably saw the news that bitcoin will be fully legal to its citizens in June. What do you guys think will happen to Bitcoin?

Probably we will see some spike on the price, but still though we are in the bull run so it might not last that long. Of course the first one to benefit is their locals, the citizens who have been using bitcoin for a while and so they can really come out from the closet and maybe spearhead bitcoin's transaction on that island. However, I don't know if this will sit well with the Chinese government, as we all know Chinese have a love and heat relationship with bitcoin. And Hongkong being it's legislative nation, might also interfere, just saying. Although there are news that the Chinese government are going to support it and are softening their stance, who knows what might be going on behind.
1988  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is getting ready for $25K, How? on: February 22, 2023, 11:33:43 PM
Yes, selling pressure at that price range and after that big resistance in front of us as we are hovering around that price range in the last 2 days. Nevertheless, I don't see the bears can't take a hold of the market, still on the hands of the bulls. And there are plenty of time this February to hit that price, so I will not be surprised if bulls are going to push in.
We are seeing the market fluctuate between $25k and $24k. But Bitcoin's target may not be upside or downside. For several days we have seen this state of the market. Looking at the market condition, we can say that we are running in the bull run, maybe the bear market will not be able to swallow us.
As for the $30k, I think it might take some time. We need more momentum first. Buyers too have some pressures and could be tired specially in January wherein we have a huge 40% uptick. So let's see first that $25k again and maintain, that is the magic number for this month, in my opinion.
Another new market position we can see in February is $30,000. We have already met our target of $25,000. Its next target is $30,000 which I think will be met by this February.Watch the market, wait, and wait for the recovery of those who invested from the high market.

And still though, we haven't seen $25k after that huge spike, on the contrary, the price went sub $24k in the 4-8 hour time frame. But the good news is that price goes up to $24,100 but far from what we wanted to see this February which is $25k.

So as others says, the selling pressure is still there and somewhat $25k is a big barrier in front of us. And we are just a week before the end of the month, so it's going to be close if not sure if there is some push to get into that $25k again, in my opinion.
1989  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 🐞 Why Dogecoin still Not hit $1, and how? 🕸 on: February 22, 2023, 11:21:31 PM
Why Doge though? what will be the reason that crypto investors are going to pour their money on a meme coin?

So for me it's doesn't make sense, I guess the hype is still around still in this cycle because Elon Musk create it. But as soon as he left Doge, everything crumble down and so is the price.

And for the manipulation that the OP describe, it's not that easy as it sounds. And it's better if Doge will grow naturally, instead of this manipulation and artificial inflation. If it hits $1 on the next bull run then good, if not then we know that it's just a hype and meme coins.
1990  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: February 22, 2023, 11:10:53 PM
Right now I am excited to see the progress in negotiations between Beterbiev and Bivol because this is the best fight we could have this year if they won't gonna delay it. based on this source, they will gonna try to make it happen in June and I think that would be best for both of them to prepare for real war against each other.

Source

I wonder how Bivol will deal with that destructive power of Beterbiev, his few punches will gonna make him lose his defense in just a matter of 3 rounds if Bivol is not careful and ready to take those superpower punches.
I hope it happens but I am not so sure it could happen during this summer since the WBC has ordered Beterbiev to fight Callum Smith, and if the aim of Bivol is to make some more money before facing Beterbiev then he could fight Canelo again in September and then fight Beterbiev until 2024, but even if the fight were delayed I think that both of them are confident on getting the win and I do not see them ducking each other for long.

Just like what he did against Canelo, he will use volume punching to throw off Beterbiev in the early rounds. Bivol also has a lot of gas tank and he can do it the whole 12 rounds.

And just like Yarde did to Beterbiev early, the problem with his is that he doesn't have a huge lungs and when Beterbiev caught him, it's over. So this fight is going to be big, two champions in the LHW class, both Russians. But then again, it might not be easily made as they have different promoters and network affiliations.
1991  Local / Pamilihan / Re: NBA discussion, betting and etc. on: February 22, 2023, 10:58:16 PM

1992  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Going to make mma predictions blog (for gamblers) on: February 22, 2023, 10:44:30 PM
Any update on the blog though? has it been created by the OP.

It's interesting to follow though and maybe see his prediction and perhaps follow some on them. The OP has history of big wins and losses as well and that's why his prediction could be a hit or miss. But still though, he might gain some followers in his blogs specially if he will have a good batting average for his MMA predictions.
1993  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 22, 2023, 10:35:09 PM

Funny to say, but I see lots of shared old school all-star games where we can see real competition, as players took pride and aim not
just to entertain the fans but to prove that they can play better than their opponent.
Looking to see that NBA will find new ways to offer to attract more viewers.
I witnessed the past All-Star games and I can really tell the big difference. The old format was much more entertaining compared to the new style. While we can't blame the fact that players now are good at making three-point shots, it's probably the organizers' fault for not ensuring a more competitive All-Star game. Hopefully, things will change next year now that they have heard people's complaints.

Seriously, I don't even know what pushed them to change the format of the All-Star and what keeps them from changing it again considering that the fans are not that hyped to see the game anymore because it was more of a circus rather than a serious type of game where the top tiers of each team are facing each other while proving that they are still top of one another.
I believe they are hearing a lot of complains already, not just this year's all-star game but in the previous ones as well but still, we kept on seeing the same format year by year. Huh

And I thought that I'm just the one who doesn't like what the All Star has turned out to be with new format in the last couple of years, we see some old school posters here who has the same mentality as mine hehehehe.

To be honest, maybe since they change format, I haven't want the All star weekend, although this year it was the Dunk contest that might bring some fans to watch again. But the whole Team Giannis vs Team Lebron? and how they score it per quarter and such? doesn't sit well for him and for the majority of old basketball fans. They should bring back the East vs West that's how we grew watching the All star.
1994  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 22, 2023, 10:24:39 PM

I do not like it either. I think Mann is really doing good lately and he deserves to start with the Clippers. But I think WB role in the team was discussed during his meeting with Kawhi and PG. So, if they have agreed that WB will start, then that would be it. Hopefully, it will be a good decision.

It could not be a great decision for the Los Angeles Clippers to get a near-retiring Russell WestBrick, but right now I am seeing WestBrick making a great assisting play even though he is not scoring that much if Kawhi and Paul George have spoken his role for the Clippers then I think it is already settled and Russell WestBrick will surely debut for the LA Clippers on Friday,

This is Westbrook's last chance in redeeming himself and his NBA career. If he fails to deliver and help the Clippers and be a burden to a team, it might be the beginning of the end for his NBA career.

Forget about scoring if it's for Westbrook. The dude can't even shoot the ball. That's why he called Westbrick because he can't shoot the ball. Let the scoring be done by other players. They have Kawhi, PG13, Mann, Gordon, and some bigs as well that. I would love to see Westbrook to be a better player now that he's on a different team already. I'm a bit disappointed on how his career went down from the main star of the Thunder, to the 2nd best player in the Wizards, and he went to the Lakers, he's just an average player and worse, he became a bench player.

I hope that Coach Ty Lue already said to Westbrook that you must not shoot the ball, and just focus on assisting and playmaking.

I guess there's only one way left to find out and that is to see him playing with the Clippers with the likes of PG and Kawhi who is surely the baller and the alphas of the team. Adding Westbrook to the team may have a difference this time but his role will be the same and that is to give space and assist, just hopefully, this time he can do correctly because I agree, this will be his last chance to redeem himself. If not, then it's safe to assume that he will be in free agency with no teams getting interested.

Yes, coach Ty Lue has a big burden now, hehehe, he has 3 superstars and he needs to balance everything and see where Westbrook will fit in the Clippers rotation. He will be more fitting for that role, being the point guard and distributing the ball the way he did before.

He will still have the full reason to rectify and make himself look good and maybe he will be extended by the Clippers over next season. So he knows what is in stake with his new team and he should take that responsibility to help and contribute.
1995  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Caleb Plant vs David Benavidez on: February 22, 2023, 10:10:55 PM

In any case it appears that much of the voters have the correct vote. Benavidez by technical knockout or knockout. What round does everyone predict for the knockout?

I reckon if could be in the late rounds, when Caleb is already tired and probably soften by Benavidez. I think David is also the stronger of the two, so most likely he is going to push Caleb all throughout the fight. I haven't bet yet, but I probably go with rounds 8-10 for David to finished the job a score a knockout or technical knockout.

And yes, our voters here are very intelligent, they voted for who they think are really going to win in this fight. And that's what we appreciate from our boxing community here, hehehe.
1996  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: February 22, 2023, 09:59:03 PM
I am also confident of a Donaire KO win but his inactivity plus his age might be a factor if he can't stop Santiago in the first half of the fight. Donaire is not fast anymore but he is accurate although he might become slower with low output in the second half.

Yeah, in his last couple of fights wherein he won, he simply go for the KO from this younger guys. So he might go the same here, chase Santiago early and test him as he doesn't want to go to full 12 rounds because he will run out of gas.

Santiago since his draw with Jerwin Ancajas had an 11-1-7 KOs record. His lone defeat was the controversial majority decision of Gary Antonio Russell. He might be underestimated here but he is really capable of beating Donaire by decision.

Right, but we all know, but Donaire will be deliberate in this fight and won't take Santiago lightly as his career is on the line. And because he will be motivated to really win that belt again. I'm looking for his left hook again to finish the fight.
1997  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: February 22, 2023, 09:49:07 PM
But once the Monster has adjusted and see what Fulton is doing, he might executed his favorite straight right and then jab his way to the body and soften Fulton and take him out in the later part of the round for a TKO/KO victory.

That's what the Monster is capable of, adjusting on the phase of the fight then boom, will dominate his opponent later on. That's how dangerous he is.

Remember when he is struggling against Donaire during their first match, the monster remains calm and tries to keep up with that fight even after suffering already a serious injury in the early rounds. He takes time to adjust then later on, he came back stronger in the later rounds and won.

If Fulton will able to put Inoue in a struggling mode in the early rounds, for sure the Monster will able to bounce back in the later rounds, not unless Fulton will keep that early momentum until the end.

I love the "Just Rob the Place" idea, hehehe, and indeed the guy was almost successful, and I guess that's what happen to those who think that they can simply go and rob a casino.

The next big problem is how to encash those chips without attracting anyone. And in his case he was under the radar for sometime until he only had those big chips. And I know that casinos are going to chance it once they know that they have been robbed by this big chips.

I think another way is when you can bring huge whales in the casinos, or become a "junket"

Quote
A junket operator forms special relationships with casinos. They promise to recruit and send VIP gamblers to the casino. Meanwhile, the gambling establishment works with the junket on tailoring specific comps to each player’s liking.

In exchange for their services, a junket operator receives commissions from the casino. The commissions are usually worthy investments, especially in the case of high rollers.

I see similar tracking bitcoin apps, it's either you

1. just type your bitcoin address and it will fetch how much bitcoin it had
2. create a account on that app, and save your bitcoin address

So there is more danger on option 2 specially privacy as others pointed out. I mean I have no idea why someone will put their addresses on that app in the first place You can just used the old and reliable,

Odds are out as well for this fight,

Obviously, Tony Harrison is a huge underdog in this fight.

The over/under is 10.5 rounds, still decent at the over @1.71 as Harrison is a tough fighter to beat.

Tim by decision as well @3.20

But if you are a Harrison backer, everything on him is very juicy bet hehehe.
