What is the difference between versions 1.1 & 1.2?

Just some extra beta-ish things presstab added....  but deleted.......

1.1 work fine, im running it perfectly.

Does thundertoe the dev that creates the tek thread ever post here?

fairly frequently.

I have the 1.2 source, if anyone needs it PM me. It has coin control and cool graphics, and it don't hang on initial sync. It's a cosmetic upgrade, as near as I can tell, but it's nice.

edit: presstab, taking it down was kind of a dick maneuver. I don't know what went down between you and thundertoe, but that ain't right.

Hello I am qiwoman but my account got compromised so had to open a new one.. I want to download the wallet for staking soon is it o.k now? Also blog post and Chinese translation coming your way in next few days. Smiley

The current version works great. I guess presstab had some more ideas for it, but there were no issues, just some upgrades he was working on. The older wallet had a problem downloading the blockchain the first time, but there was a file available that fixed that by importing it to a recent height. Other than that, it worked fine too. I got my first stakes with the original wallet. Currently have no coins ready to stake, though a couple are close. the coin control features are nice, too.

I am going to try this coin out.  It sounds interesting. I wonder how hard it is to use the source code.

If you're talking compiling it for linux, easy. I'm not a programmer, but if you have all the bitcoin dependencies installed to current, it's make -f makefile.unix then sit and wait for a few minutes.

If you're talking about modifying the code, I have no clue Cheesy

Hey all, I am going to start focusing on wallet development for other coins.  Hope you enjoy the wallet TEK has!  Any build/source code questions should be directed towards thundertoe.  Keep on staking  Roll Eyes

Will you release it as 1.3 ?

There are still a few things left that would need to be done before I would feel comfortable releasing it out to the public. Also I would like to focus on a coin that I can be considered the official developer for, instead of having someone get the glory and the final say for the coin.  I would be happy to continue to work on TEK because I have become so intricately familiar with the source code, but again I am not going to waste my time.

One of the most known members of the community (~8,000 twitter followers) is encouraging me to throw a community led coup d'etat and officially take over TEK making thundertoe nothing more than a cheerleader.  One of the beauties of an open source coin is that it is really the community's choice what happens, not a single centralized person.  I have had several respectable members of the community contact me and tell me not to get involved in TEK because of thundertoe.

I am not particularly interested in getting in a dramatic battle for developer status for TEK, especially with someone that I have heard a lot of horror stories about.  So for now, you will have to get thundertoe to make any needed changes to the code and to compile and release a new version of the wallet.

If you want to discuss it in more detail, send me a PM and we can talk privately.

I am sorry you feel that way, i hope you have a nice day.

I'm a bit taken aback by this. I thought all was well betwixt you guys.

I don't know who's slingin' shit, and honestly don't care, but I am going to say that both of you gentlemen have been very good to me when I had (sometimes stupid) questions. TEK is my favorite coin, and was even before Presstab's improved wallet. What he brought to the table was quite nice, and what you had already accomplished was very cool as well.

I can see the desire to have your own deal. That part makes sense, but WTF with the personal shit?

if you find a nice config for it with NOMP, please share :-) I wasn't able to use NOMP with MPOS for TEK :-(

Well, I'm in the process right now. But I had it working on a test rig a couple days ago, reading the network and such. Didn't connect a miner to it at that point, cuz I managed to hose up some other things. Shoot me a PM, and I may be able to help.
2007  Economy / Services / Re: PB Mining -- 5 year mining contracts! on: June 08, 2014, 01:05:26 AM
I see some users respont very agressively to everyone that raise some questions about PBmining. This is not the way to do it, even it has beed discussed before, not everyone has the time to read through 143 pages. If you know better point them to the discussion and let them judge by themselves.

Ok, I have to agree with this, even though it does get old. Still, it's a lot of reading, and that seems to be a skill that becomes less and less important to people at large these days.

So, to the new guy, I'll address it for ya. I doubt that Pbmining will touch this again, as they got burned before.

Once, early in their existence, they did reveal where they mined, and they got personal threats and people harassing them in their homes. So they went anonymous as much as possible, deleting the information. This was months ago, so the info itself is probably outdated. At the time, they mined at Eligius. Whether or not they still do, I don't know or care. They have always paid me on time, usually early, and they have always been courteous and quick to answer me and others who weren't simply trolling. They stopped answering this particular question about 50 pages back, cuz it was done to death.

I won't do your research for you. It's all in the thread. If you are looking to invest in them, I recommend it and hope you'll use my link (see sig). The caveat to that, of course, is that due diligence is due on your part. Make your own decisions based on the data available. If you go by customer satisfaction (and you should as one of several indicators) then I think you will find that those of us who are customers are quite pleased with pbmining. I don't promote products and services I don't believe in. Sometimes I'm wrong, we all are at times, but I am honest. Pb isn't one of the ones I'm wrong about.

I think we've waited long enough. I feel like need to do something more.

so I did something cut and paste and got the permine voided source code, I have not tested.

here:

https://github.com/AltcoinsBeta/SHACoin-Dead

It need ppl check it out. and if you can find something wrong or can help, all welcome.
because I know nothing about programming, if I can do it, why not you?

Has this gone anywhere? I wondered for two reasons.

One, I'm interested, and two, my wallet is stuck, so I thought something may have happened in my absence.

sync wallet running like a dream now om win 8.1
well, I suppose somethng had to. Win 8.1 has driven me to ubuntu.

win 8.1 is just 7 with a shitty front end slapped on it.  It's not bad once you figure out where they put everything and how to get to them.

It's not good either, and a lot of hardware is being shipped out to not work well with 7. My wally world HP came with 8.1, I got completely sick of it, and put 7 on it, with proper drivers, and had endless problems. So, I put 8.1 back... slower than god. Now I have ubuntu and I'm seeing the kind of performance you would expect with 4 cores and 8 gigs of ram.

Learning a new OS at my age isn't the easiest thing I've ever attempted, but so far it's going well. Sync wallet works a lot better than it did under windows as well Cheesy

Got hardly nothin' in it, but what the hell.

A woman is having an affair, when she and her lover discover her son is hiding in the closet. As the father is coming home, her lover hides in the closet with the boy. He starts moaning "it's dark in here! I'm gonna scream!"

The man says "shhh... keep quite and I'll buy you  a tricycle". the boy is silent and the man keeps his word.

Come the next Sunday, the boy is attending his first confession. He walks into the booth, looks around and says "It's dark in here.."

The priest comes back and says, "Now son, don't start  that shit again!"

People not understand what version is actual. It does not matter??
So lets remove versions from all softaware. Because its not matter.

 Cheesy

he's right, 'it not matter'

it software, which is, in essence - holding no matter.

But matter is energy, and energy was expended to make the metal shavings align correctly on the HD, which are slowed enough to be considered matter, anyway. So what's the matter?

On the issue at hand, I have to agree with those hollering. Not incrementing the versions tends to be very confusing.

I start to think that devs is so newbie (нуб кароче), because he or she have not skills to simple change version number when release new wallet.

http://www.thescribe.eu/version.jpg

i am about windows version

then it's your choice to use a crap OS  Cheesy stop whinging about something that makes no difference to the functionality of the coin.

Long time ago i saved money for a mac. But then i took that money and i bought a better pc and a car.

Sounds about right!

Now get Ubuntu, and things will continue to improve Cheesy

I'm a Windows guy, but two things have forced me to start migrating to Ubuntu.

One, Windows 8/8.1 Second worst abortion in the history of Windows, and they did so good with 7.
Two, my job requires me to deal with linux.

So, I have been, and it's a cool system! I may abandon Windows altogether once I get more competent at Ubuntu.

The dev hasn't disappeared, he was posting just last night and it is a weekday.  Just relax, I am sure they are working on it and will roll out an update soon.  Probably this weekend.

Oh don't worry, I've checked their post history before I commented. The silence is worrying. If this was my coin, I would be on here every working hour putting out fires and building a community, but that's me. The price has plummeted and the coin is becoming more centralized. Therefore, the value just won't get to where people are hoping it will, as large bag-holders will dump as soon as it hits a decent figure. Distribution is key to any crypto-currency. We can't have all the trading between the rich list can we?

Well I would prefer that the dev was working on the problem rather than arguing pointless with raskul.  This guy is a piece of work, one second he is calling it a scam and complaining about the .3 sync POS requirement, next minute he is offering to buy everyone's sync in exchange for other mined coins.

+100 & he really needs psychological professional help ...

Raskul is a personal friend of mine, so I must defend him. He can't be helped. He's a Scot, and he's my friend. You really think a psychiatrist can do anything with that combination?

On with the show...

Thx that worked. it did get stuck at 8200 but after a restart it's just 8 hrs behind now.... and it is moving.

great, keep with it, i'll be worth it in the long run (am I doing someone else's marketing here?)  Roll Eyes

Do you really think your constant flip flopping is helping with marketing?  Seriously dude You personally took my investment from hovering in the .20's to the teens all by yourself with your insanity laden meltdown yesterday.

For all those eyes watching, yesterdays move represented about a .1BTC/sync drop and that's about 100 BTC all on our backs because you wanted to get 5 more cheap SYNC! Thanks to you a double now gets us to .30 instead of .50  great work Mr. Marketing.

You love chaos we get it but stop claiming to be looking out for the common man, claiming that you are expressing everyone's opinion like some self proclaimed leader of this community.  You are looking out for yourself and no one else and everyone needs to know that.... beware.  This community needs and deserves better!

</rant>

fuck all to do with me. people make their own decisions. sounds like you are just looking for someone to blame.

and regarding the sync i've been buying;

I've been buying up all I can with all the BTC i mine, all the way down from 0.9 - I have very little to spend now on Sync as I am now hashing alternative coins for other people, so they can offload their sync at a better rate than you see on the exchanges.

I'm enjoying the show, to be honest, but I lost a bit on this debacle. For those of you who think raskul "took advantage", well, I sold to him, based on the relative values of TEK and SYNC at the time the deal was made, at .3 BTC per SYNC, which was nearly twice the market rate. Granted, we are friends, but I would have probably gone a bit lower. By doing this, I stopped the bleeding on my side, gained 80 TEK (about a third of the way there on the spondoolies SP10, which is a beautiful machine), and came out just a few pennies down from my initial investment.

I'm out of Sync now. Pun definitely intended. This coin looked pretty cool, I took the risk, and now it's falling apart. Perhaps it will get fixed. I hope so, and if the major issues get fixed, I'll mine at the multipool again. But for now?

Staking. Staking at .3 and above is stupid, given the rarity of the coin. Plus, it's not even true. Several people have staked at lower numbers. Dev needs to address this.

Syncing. Syncing is a huge issue! I've had fewer problems than a lot of you, but my wallet is ALWAYS a block or two behind the block chain unless I restart it. It does sync right up, but then it stops, and doesn't report itself as being out of sync. It's the current version, not flavored. And this issue is not just me or a minor few. Bittrex has to keep kicking the wallet as well. Not sure about Poloniex or Mint, but I waited quite a while on my withdrawals from Polo. Because of this issue, Sync broke my perfect record with Bittrex. Up to this point, I have never had any issue on that exchange, unless you count the night I logged in drunk and sold some shit coins lower than market. That was on me, of course Cheesy

On that note, I'd like to shout out to Rami and Richie at Bittrex. I spoke with them on IRC about my issue, and they fixed it in minutes. Very good operators over there.

OK, I see a business opportunity coming up...

All those with less than 0.3 Sync that really want to stake can have 50% stake/interest for one year in Kenta-bank..

50% per year, that's not so bad? That's more even than the dodgiest Eastern-European bank would ever give you for Rubles...

Deposits can be sent to my Sync-address in my signature below followed by a comment (including your Sync return address) to bitmessage address BM-2cWSqG7bAYiSB7MmjeoS162osUYMhF5ZzT

TEK is a better investment. it's been around for a long while and it's a trusted coin.

Ok, Raskul and I came to an agreement, here it is, if this is acceptable.

My balance is 0.09955298

Which at .3btc = 0.029865894

For this amount, if you accept, you agree to mine 80 TEK to my address.

I'm out of this game. Not sure where my position is, but I'm not pursuing it further at this time. TEK's been good to me for months, I'm going with a winner.

Waiting some hours on a withdrawal from Bittrex. I try to put the TX ID into both the block explorer and the console, and I get nothing. On the block explorer, I'm getting a 404 error, and on the console it says it can't find the transaction. Any clues?
go to freenode #bittrex and tell bittrex-ritchie.... wallet got stuck a couple times tonite

I trust Ritchie. If it's a tech issue, I'll not hassle him for now. I'm just wondering why the block explorer is giving me a 404???

If I haven't seen it in another couple of hours, I'll give Ritchie a poke Tongue

Is it 1% or 100% POS per year?  I have seen both numbers floating around.
Bro it tells u on OP.did u read that at all Huh

I really think a lot of people don't. I wonder if this is how they do their investing? No homework just do it for me.

One could hope so...
