^  Kewl.  I just saw the World Cup one and made all my picks.  I think I made the most common obvious picks anybody who has an idea about football could make.  Lol.

Anyway, here are my picks for the Majestic 7 for the next set of fixtures.

Mbuemo
Rodrigo
Trossard
Haaland
Calvert Lewin
Martinelli
Bowen.

I'm not really very confident with these picks so I'll prolly at least win some free bets...?
Looks good except for Bowen, I believe he lost penalties to Scamacca so now he is my to go man for West Ham. Anyway does somebody know what is the cut off time for Majestic 7? I would prefer to see line ups for early games before making my predictions. That is especially a case for City, they have the easiest fixture this week but high probability of Haaland and Foden not starting. De Bruyne is the only one I would be confident picking if i had to do it at this moment.

@tokeweed why did you select Haaland because he may not play much even if he makes it to the squad, hence that’s a bad selection in my personal opinion. Furthermore I expect that there will be some upsets with your selection as I’m expecting few favourites team’s to crash out, but then I could be wrong too as it’s more of a gut based feeling based on their form of their last few matches.

Yeah I'm aware he missed the last couple of matches and thought he could start this time around.  And looking at the line up now, it looks like I was wrong.  Lol.  I hope he comes in around the 60th minute tho and have ample time to get one in or at least get the opportunities.

The matches start in around a minute.  Good luck with your picks guys...

Literally submitted my picks moments before kickoff haha. All in a rush but who knows, rando favs get me lucky.

Edit- I had an hour to spare haha. FJ had the time in GMT.

Switched back to regular go getters today, cept for Trossard, so that means Antonio and Jesus on my list even though they haven't had the chance to be prolific lately (injury the former, form the latter).

Juggy, Haaland doesn't need 90 mins but I went for boring Mitrovic cause Fulham will keep a clean sheet today. Ha ha ha.

Haaland needs 30 minutrs tops.  But we'll see.

^  Heeey welcome back!

It's not that I'm being spoiled and want more action or anything.  I do appreciate the finer parts of the game which I've def seen some people find it boring like the wrestling and the grappling side of MMA.  It's just Adesanya talks big, almost berating his opponents and then when it gets in the cage, nothing...  It was just the last three of his last matches tho.  And the one vs Yoel Romero.
I didn't mean that you are spoiled, but when you watch people in US arenas are starting to boo any fight that is not full of blood and kick punching action.
Adesanya is one of the smartest MMA fighters and I don't expect him to change anything major in his fight style, but I want to see him making more risk sometimes.
I am sure his next fight with Alex Pereira will be very interesting to watch, his biggest challenge in Middleweight category.

True true but what can we do and how can we blame them.  Those people really went out of their way to go to the event, pay their hard earned money and go him in disappointment.  What I think Adesanya should do himself is tone down with all the talk during the build up going to the event.  The last one was really disappointing imho.  He was talking about how he wanted to express himself inside the cage and how he wants to show the world what he can do vs Cannonier.  Come fight day it was...  -_-

^  Brighton and Nottingham Forest are really a league apart tho.

Quite an interesting bet and with big odds between the two, but I chose Arsenal as the favourite.
this is a difficult match in my opinion so I don't bet choosing both, because in my opinion they are equally strong and will maintain their position in the standings, even though the odds of winning are 50% and I'm sure one of them will come out as a winner or a draw, I hope you win the bet choose Arsenal, good luck

A difficult match indeed but Arsenal if they want to be staying ahead of City they are forced to win this game.Of course this is no easy task especially after consecutive bad results in the Premier League from Chelsea,at least they saved their face in the Champions League by winning during the midweek game. Most probably is going to end a draw and also most probably going to end both teams to score yes.I personally fancy an Arsenal win though in this weekend derby of London.

Cheslea hasn't had a loss at home yet this season.  Arsenal on the other hand has had one loss vs United and it was an away match for the Gunners.  It comes down to being another 'big test' for Arsenal as far as away matches are concerned.  They're schedule in away matches were kinda soft after the loss at Old Trafford, going against Brentford, Leeds and Southampton.

I think I had this match at 2 - 2 in hilarious' EPL pool.

I think the clubs that have a real shot to go to the finals and win it are Man City, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.  Not really sure about the rest but Liverpool could be a dark horse and may Napoli too.  I'll prolly start watching the CL a lot more closer as the KO stages awaits!

They missed the UCL because so long not to come, so Man City bought Haaland for quite a expensive.  Pep really longs to be able to bring a big ear to Man City. If I'm not mistaken, Man City have never been able to win when coached by Pep.   I agree that those three teams have a great chance of advancing to the semifinals. But I'm a big favourite with Man City, although there may be a lot of surprises that I can't predict. I'm looking forward to the draw for the first knockout round. When will it be done?

Oh for sure.  Did anybody itt see the video when they got eliminated at the semi final?  I think it was the UCL season before the one last year or was it the other year..  But anyway, in the video Pep and his coaches were thowing and smashing stuff in frustration and shouting 'why is the Champions League hard?'.  Something like that.

And I'd argue that the price tag for Haaland is 'expensive'.  I mean yes it is but City get what they paid for which makes it worth it.  So in the long run the club will reap more than the expense.

I used to be an Adesanya fan when he first came in the UFC.  But as time passed along, he became really cringey in interviews and press conferences.  And when it's time to fight his match in the cage, he became a bit boring the last couple matches.  It's prolly for stylistic reasons but still...  He got a bit boring.  But this one vs Pereira could get dicey for him as you guys already know why.  Then again could we see Adesanya add some wrestling in his game?  I think we could see Adesanya do more than a couple of TD's.  Dunno...  I feel like he has to.
Maybe he was always like that and we just didn't know him well before he signed contract with UFC.
He is not boring for me to watch, and some spoiled people are expecting fighters should always perform with KO's like monkeys in circus, it doesn't work like that.
Adesanya always liked to play on safe side to receive smallest amount of punches possible, or he would end up like Diaz brothers with bloody scar faces.

His fights were lack luster as main events in PPV events after his loss vs Błachowicz is all I'm saying.  The main event this Fight Night weekend with Rodriguez vs Lemos could be more of a banger than Adesanya vs Cannonier.

^  I wouldn't say 'robbed' as Verstappen didn't do anything to take anything from Hamilton.  It was the FIA's fault...  'Michael, Michael this is so not right' will be a classic quote that will live on and be repeated again and again for years.

But yeah..  I could see both sides having they're own right to say and think what they want.  But Ted Kravitz should be a tad more careful what he says in his show as it's really a touchy issue and he's a journo ffs.  I've said this before...  What the FIA should've done was release the drivers a couple or more laps before the lap they were released and without letting Verstappen lapping the drivers in front of him.  That would've been a better way to do it.  A fair way.

I got a big doubt that Pereira could win against Adesanya that now has a great record with MMA, kickboxing is a different combat sport than MMA, and even though he knockout Izzy in the past it doesn't mean he could do it again, and this time they will fight is a different playing field and I think Israel Adesanya is accustomed with the MMA than Pereira, for sure,
Kickboxing is different than MMA but Israel Adesanya is one of the few champions in modern MMA who is holding the belt without a great ground game, he has a pretty good ground defense but he likes the striking range which is kickboxing in almost all of his fights.

Alex Pereira is fighting for the belt in just his 4th fight in the UFC which is crazy and the funny thing would be if he defeats Israel Adesanya for the third time and then announces his retirement with a perfect record against Israel Adesanya it would be the greatest meme ever  Cheesy.

2022 is a year full of upset fights. A match like this really needs to have a spectacular end like KO of the year.  But we don't know yet until it's over. Anyone can lose. The odds are with Izzy so they're positive that he can win this fight, it's not a time for him to confidently bend. Alex can take his belt easy with just one cross.

Adesanya, Israel 1.58
Pereira, Alex 2.40

I used to be an Adesanya fan when he first came in the UFC.  But as time passed along, he became really cringey in interviews and press conferences.  And when it's time to fight his match in the cage, he became a bit boring the last couple matches.  It's prolly for stylistic reasons but still...  He got a bit boring.  But this one vs Pereira could get dicey for him as you guys already know why.  Then again could we see Adesanya add some wrestling in his game?  I think we could see Adesanya do more than a couple of TD's.  Dunno...  I feel like he has to.

💰  ROUND 15 OF THE PREMIER LEAGUE  💰

Hello,

Here's the current schedule for the upcoming round of the Majestic 7.

Note to say, no one has managed to snap seven out of seven goalscorers right.

Fortune on you!

-
ampera

I could guess every player most likely to score a goal but it would take a lot of luck to get them to score in one weekend.  Just by looking at it, at first glance I'd go for Haaland, Rodrigo, Trossard, Toney, prolly Calvert Lewin, Havertz and maybe.. Bowen.

^  That's just playing it by ear.  But I will prolly change a couple of those if the player is injured or not starting.

And FJ, any games planned for the World Cup?  That should be fun.  I'm not really into the World Cup but I'll prolly be betting on some of the matches this time.
2012  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for November on: November 03, 2022, 01:22:47 PM
It’s all up to the fed. It all boils down to FOMC tomorrow.

Basically if the rumors are correct and they will be dovish then we will get a bullish month. So far many other central banks pulled back on hikes and there was some QE with others. So people are speculating the same for the fed.

However there is the chance that they will be hawkish as before since these rate hikes didn’t do much to tame inflation just yet.

I will vote tomorrow on this poll.

Looks like the US stock market didn't like what the FOMC had to say.  Lol.  But the thing is even if the S&P 500 ended the day down 2% in the red, BTC still held 20k which I think is def a positive sign.  There's prolly not enougn sellers left to push the price down below 17k lows.

Anyway...  There are 10 votes for 'yes' and just 1 vote for 'no'.  C'mon, who voted no..?  Maybe we should have another poll guessing who voted no.  Who's been negative and bearish lately?  Cheesy
2013  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: November 02, 2022, 01:49:59 PM
Yup!  I was really impressed with Jake Paul's heart.  To stand toe to toe vs one of the legends of combat sports is really amazing.  I mean with him being just a regular guy and all.  He deserves all the credit.  It really shows that hard work pays off.
It's amazing what he achieved in such a short amount of time, and he earned my full respect after this win.
I know Jake Paul is a big fan of MMA and I heard he is working on creating big competition for UFC, making everything more fair for fighters including paycheck, and Dana White won't like this at all.

Yup, it's really impressive tbh.  I mean I really didn't care to pay a lot of attention when he KO'd Askren and Woodley.  I already knew those two were likely to lose and make fools of themselves.  But this win vs Silva is something else man.  Massive respect and it pique's my interest in what he plans next as he'll be taking on tougher dudes than Silva.  If the next guy is Nate Diaz and Jake Paul wins, OOOMG!  His stock will shoot thru the roof for sure.

Here's the Multi Master guys.  If no one is betting on the matches for the next event at least try to win some free bets.  Smiley

Preflop:  Call is good as you have a decent hand and it's suited.  A 3bet could also be good in this spot as being a BU raiser he could have a lot of junk in his range.

Flop:  I would check/fold this spot vs that sizing or any sizing unless really small.  Sure you have A high so it's prolly worth a peel for the next card and you do have a T blocker for the straight and backdoor diamonds, but there's a heart draw on the board.  It could put you in a dicey spot if you turn top pair but it completes the flush or the straight.

Turn:  You call flop, hit T for top pair, top kicker on the turn and he bets around 3/4 pot.  It's getting dicey.  Lol.  He has less chances of having a T since you have it and he's representing strength here.  So he prolly has a value range of over pairs, sets, straights and if he does have the T, it's prolly with a weaker kicker.  Bluffs he has would mostly be heart draws.

River:  You check and he overbets with 46bb on a 32bb pot (is that a jam?).  Anyway, he's now polarized between the strongest hands a straight, sets and total air, mostly a missed flush draw.

So your question is prolly 'do we call or fold the river?'.  It's really dicey and this is where player history comes in and your reads or notes on him.  Has he been playing snug or has he been splashing around..?  It's a tough spot really and I wouldn't blame you for either calling or folding.  But in this spot and especially at lower stakes, this smells like the nuts and just fold unless I have a solid read that villain usually double barrels with a flush draw.

Edit:  I misread the hand at the turn.  You lead the turn around 3/4 pot showing strength and he just smooth calls.  This changes the dynamic and makes me really think he's now on the flush draw.  With how everything went, I reluctantly call on the river after checking.  It doesn't make sense unless he slow played a huge hand on the turn like a straight or a set but those hands usually raise for value and to let heart draws pay for the next card.

Yeah, it just doesn't make sense to me.  If he hit the K for top pair, would he really overbet and polarize his range between super strong hands and bluffs?  Smells like a busted heart draw..  I mean yeah he could have you beat but I def feel like it's a heart draw.
2018  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: November 01, 2022, 02:46:04 PM
There was nothing special for me in this last UFC fight card and I was not really impressed with any fighter.
We can't have spectacles every time and my attention was more in boxing event with Anserson Silva losing from youtuber Jake Paul who proved he is a good fighter.
There was one more UFC fighter on that card and he saved the day for MMA, Urian Hall won against LeVeon Bell in his debut.

Yup!  I was really impressed with Jake Paul's heart.  To stand toe to toe vs one of the legends of combat sports is really amazing.  I mean with him being just a regular guy and all.  He deserves all the credit.  It really shows that hard work pays off.

And Toptort, yeah...  Some events are just boring like the next one.  I think we only have 4 ranked fighters in the event.  But the thing is that's why we make bets, even if we bet small to make it more entertaining.  Wink  If you don't bet, it's gonna be very boring.

The only match I'm looking forward to is Madsen vs Dawson.  And that too could even be boring as they both have a wrestling base.
2019  Economy / Speculation / BTC Sentiment Poll for November on: November 01, 2022, 02:31:05 PM
As we've already seen, near the end of October there were buyers who were coming in with serious volume, bringing positive momentum back in BTC.  And it's not just BTC...  Most of the other coins have closed their monthly in the green.

So the question now is will this momentum continue for November or will it fizzle out and bring BTC back to 18k - 19k range?  I made the poll a yes or no question as I want a clearer sentiment this time.

Here's the monthly chart.

^  Go ahead if you want to.  With the event close to happening, I think the roster listed in Tapology will be as close as the final roster imo.  The only changes would prolly be in what order the matches will be.

I kinda feel like we'll see more than the usual number of weight misses here as the UFC looks like they made the roster real quick with short notice matches.  :/
