TestNet MN's runs parallel to normal MN's (which still gets paid) on the same VPS ?!
what funding recourses do you mean ?

No, often (usually?) people pay for additional VPS instances just for use on testnet. It's better than having an unstable testnet daemon cripple your live MN.

Ah ok
tx for the details !

Yup, a number of people pay for VPS instances to be used solely on testnet so they can be used for masternode testing and also for wallets to sit there and auto mix coins.

Hello guys,

Does anyone experience frequent crashes of the Darkcoin QT (newest version for MAC OS) on a macbook air? If needed, I still have my crash report.
Thanks.

I've had this problem for a few versions now to the point that I no longer have QT on my Air.
2003  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] Darkcoin | First Anonymous Coin | Inventor of X11, DGW and Darksend | Instant TX on: January 21, 2015, 08:23:14 AM
How long do "darksend denominate" transactions take to confirm?  Should I do anything if it has been sitting in that status for 20 min?

nevermind, went through!

Feel totally free to ignore this advice, but declaring when you are mixing compromises your own anonymity, which you may or may not care about, but since you are more identifiable it also weakens the anonymity of the people you are mixing with. Considering i am fairly sure no single person owns 1500 masternodes it is a very small point, but it looks like I am the guy who is pointing it out this time around. Not telling you what to do though, stick your dick in the mashed potatoes for all i care. The more you know!

I'm just mixing for fun...so no real problem there.  I'm sorry if I compromised anyone else..won't do it from now on.

On another note, DirectBet wasn't good to me today

Don't be sorry hombre, was just a good opportunity to remind everyone. I also am just firing up some DirectBet, I keep it small so I can keep playing!

I hit 2 of the same numbers back to back in a total of 5 rolls.  ( 25 25 1 87 87). I find it really hard to believe that it's random... Something like that is like 1/million

Actually man that might be indicative that it is closer to true random. As I understand it, usually when you give humans the option of choosing something "random" its actually a contrived algorithm to appear random to us. True random seems fake to humans because it has occurrences of lots of repeat numbers and weird shit like that, and since we are evolved from apes our brains were totally not needed in that category they short circuit and it doesn't appear random to us. Something like that!

Apparently, there's a lot of truth to this... I heard that the iPod 'shuffle' function was originally a random one, but then people complained that they'd get the same song twice and that it was much to frequent to be random! So Apple made the 'shuffle' function less random... To make it appear more random!  Roll Eyes  Wink

Walter

+1 on this.  I have seen similar patterns on Directbet.

I also rolled on a 1 to 90 bet and got a zero.  That really pissed me off Smiley

Maths will always win given enough of a chance.

Regarding the MN payments...
Enforcment OFF = irregular payments
Enforcment ON = regular clock payments

we need 80% updated network to swich from OFF to ON!

Where is the motivation to upgrade?  I upgrade right away, don't get paid.  Someone on v10 stays at v10, gets paid twice.

Man, this is not about the motivation Now you're acting like a bad actor here. You invested your money and if you want the coin to succeed do as the devs ask you. Otherwise please sell and stop moaning about upgrades, even if they come very often. Other communities would love to have daily upgrades lol.

I disagree.

We should have a testnet and testing methodology that means that we have fewer releases.  IMHO it is the regularity of releases that leads to the apathy to update.

Why should the various masternode hosting services upgrade to a version until they are sure it is stable?  I'm just grabbing figures from my head here but what if Flare hosts 300 masternodes and needs to manage the comms because there is also a protocol change?  Would you upgrade your customers to 11.0 straight away when there is a good chance we will be on 11.10 within a week?

I'd rather have one release that is stable with new features waiting to the next major release.

This! I am not happy with the current "testing on mainnet" approach either.

We need to consolidate and go back to testnet.

Its a personal decision but I have decided to stop funding resources on testnet now.  I think the devs need to have a proper think about how it can be bigger and better and not be dependent on the generosity of various individuals to provide USD resources for free.  Some of the people who started paying for VPS in testnet did so to try to improve the stability of releases where they didn't have the technical ability to help...I was one of them and it isn't working.

On a more positive note, I reckon once we have a version that we KNOW to be stable I'm sure we'll have enforcement back on in no time.  These are good times for Darkcoin...testing and release management seems to be the blot on the copy book.

The waiting for page 4000 is killing me.

We haven't talked about changing the logo or name for a few hundred pages.

That always creates some feverish posting.....How about changing the name to otohcoin?

I'm pretty sure Otoh is launching a hostile takeover bid judging by those buy walls... Expect an imminent announcement!  Wink

I have a lot of respect to what Otoh is doing right now , but why on BTC side and not on USD side ?
It would give us a great stepping away from BTC, which in the end should be the case

Otoh was an early investor in BTC so has a substantial holding. It's probably just easier to buy in the DRK/BTC pair than to convert back to fiat and then buy DRK... Plus the DRK/BTC pair has a lot more liquidity than the DRK/USD pair. Otoh has the best part of $100k equivalent of BTC on the DRK bid books at Cryptsy and Bitfinex, there just isn't the liquidity on the USD markets...

Plus converting it back to fiat will create a 'footprint' if you know what I mean...  Wink

Walter

Some reading on Otoh and his fine pedigree https://medium.com/@mhuzaifaali/second-bitcoin-miner-after-satoshi-shares-his-experience-1c9b0c107ed

I figured that Otoh wouldn't mind me posting this seeing as it is in the public domain anyway...

That's Hal Finney, I'm a far cry from his level, he's also gone to meet the great coder in the sky I believe.

Hawkward!  I made the assumption that you were Hal because it is linked from Otoh.net with little explanation.  Sorry to hear about Hal.  I'm also very glad to hear that you don't have LGD!

Would be nice to see that massive buywall raise from 63000 to 65000 on the exchanges.  =D

You didn't follow it, it's slowly moving..

It start at 61...  So yes it's a

Anyway the movements on wisdom for the moment are really nice. Hopefully we didn't depend on only one whale. I hope this just permit to ignate the motor.

Just bagged myself another MN worth before the rush...  Wink

Walter

Just managed to bag myself another two after a successful night on Directbet Cheesy

Good work! Betting on the football?

Mainly dice and luck with a smattering of football Wink  Started of with 150DRK so I'm pretty pleased.

Warning:  Today was a good day.  I have had plenty of bad days.  Don't let betting become an addiction.  Its an instant rush with Darkcoin!

I'm sure I'm being paranoid here but the conflicted transaction has gone, isn't on the blockchain and it seems like my balance is lower than it should be by about 100DRK.

Must check my facts though...the receiving address doesn't have it

I hope I'm just confused  Cry

Definitely just confused.

Anyway, that 100 DRK was a bet @ 4:1 and I won so happy days Smiley

We are working on this too.
I had the same issue too.

Just tried a zap and its still just sitting there feeling conflicted.

Transaction ID isn't showing up in the explorer...

make sure you spell it right -zapwallettxes

Thanks mate.

I had this with a transaction yesterday but after it was broadcast and it resolved itself after a few minutes.  This one hasn't made it onto the network.

Just doing a reindex.  I tried rescan and zap (but not sure I spelled it right).  We'll see.

Hmm look like a double spend !?

Definitely not a double spend on my part!  Just a normal TX that says it is conflicted.

I guess we're all conflicted in one way or another.  I think i'll give it some space to find itself (let the network work out what to do).  It hasn't arrived at its destination yet but has been deducted from my balance.

hahaha  +100 for humor! I'm sure it will be sorted. How many confirms? Have you tried zapping the wallet?

11.0.10 Core - All Users

Downloads: https://darkcointalk.org/threads/0-11-0-darkcoin-core-release.3601/page-12#post-37320

Darksend users please update and remix your coins to try this and improve your anonymity

Nearly perfect darksend (https://github.com/darkcoin/darkcoin/commit/bbd869589cb08945680627d60c5c091cbd2e8208).

- Found the collateral issue that's been causing users to get charged when they shouldn't be. Now collateral should be charged in about 1 in 40 sessions.
- Improvements to DS anonymity - no change will ever be returned to a user in a pool.
- DS Anonymity improvements for smaller wallets (will have a positive effect on all wallets though)
- DS should also be much faster at mixing
- EXACT DS anonymitizing amounts are now supported (UdjinM6)
- There's a known issue anonymizing small amounts of DRK, try larger amounts if you have any problem (UdjinM6 is working on this)

Performance improvements

- Found the top 5 reasons why performance is suffering for the Darkcoin client and fixed them. Now performance should be similiar to Darkcoil unless you're running Darksend mixing (DS is intensive on the CPU)

InstantX

- I'm officially moving onto finishing implementation of InstantX, expect more great things in the near future Smiley

Thank you Ed!

maybe the volume will shift to bitfinex due to that walls Smiley
I'd love to see the volume on bitfinex at least as high on cryptsy. Bitfinex is more advanced and is rly fast in deposit withdraws and trades.
Lets put there more focus.

I'd like to see some volume go into cex.io too although I find their fees a little high for my liking.   Their interface is excellent though.

Except they always have so many tiny orders that it is really difficult to see the order book. At least it was like that when I used in the past.

Anyway, yeah, it would be nice to spread the love to the other good ones that are not Cryptsy.

I guess it is just difficult to attract volume.

I bought some DRK on Bittylicious at a very fair price last week.  They only had 88DRK in stock though.
