2361  Economy / Economics / Re: California and the Midwest face ‘high risk’ of electricity shortages on: December 21, 2022, 04:44:26 AM
Increasing awareness of climate change is pushing utilities to phase out fossil fuel-based sources of energy that generate carbon emissions. Renewables like wind and solar don’t contribute to climate change, but have period where they don’t generate any energy (when the sky is dark or the wind is still).

The bottom line is that Biden's energy policies want to bring the US closer to the model of Cuba or Venezuela where power outages are commonplace. Politicians are specialists in offering solutions to the problems they themselves create, so it is not surprising to see Biden pleading with Venezuela or Saudi Arabia about oil when it is a problem he himself created.

Our financial markets and trends are operating under a post abundance economy?

Rather, they are operating under a socialist political economy, like Carter's, who told people that if they were cold in the winter, what they had to do was cover themselves with a blanket.

As soon as someone comes into office who lowers taxes and removes regulations, energy production will return to that of a first world country.
2362  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: December 21, 2022, 04:31:26 AM
Hi, is there anyone having problem with freebitco.in e-mail confirmations for address change or withdrawing ?
I haven't received any mail for days.

Thanks.

No issues on my side, did you check your spam already?
I am approaching the 100k RP, currently at 88,000 points and I will probably not be able to approach the 100k by the end of this year, but I will be close to it. Before the premium membership was launched (and the WOF), I would never be able to reach 100k RP as I don't have any referrals, only bet low amounts on the sportsbook and never play the Hi-Lo game.

In my case neither, although the last cashout was made like 10 days ago. If no one else comments on the problem, the most logical thing to do is to think that it is some particular problem he has. I also receive every day the promotional emails with the link to play WoF for free.
2363  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Breaking: Bitcoin Lightning Network to be used in fiat transfers between EU and on: December 21, 2022, 04:06:00 AM
Bitcoin Lightning Network to be deployed for fiat transfers between the UK, Europe, and African countries.
Bitcoin Lightning Network is a layer 2 solution for Bitcoin blockchain to transfer Bitcoin.

How can it be used to transfer fiat money cross countries?

Using the blockchain. I don't know the technical explanation in detail but Jack Mallers' Strike has been doing it for some time now. You can watch interviews with him on Youtube, he's a young guy but very passionate and seems to know what he's doing.
2364  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slow down if you want to recover your losses on: December 20, 2022, 06:08:18 AM
I want to share my own technique on how I overcome my loss. You can share yours too on the comment below.

I recently experienced a heated game session on blackjack that I never experienced before due to I over extent my budget to chase loss. I was down by 200$ while my current bankroll is only 100$. Typically most user will do all in to quickly recover losses but my strategy is to slow down and bet only on craps 5$ on each number. Craps has a low house edge because your only loss is when 7 appear while the rest of the number that you didn’t choose will just result as draw.

Craps pays x2+ per win which is good to slowly recovering my losses. I just continue same bet and stop gambling for a day after I recover 50$ of my bet. I keep doing this per day until I completely recover all my loss slowly and rest for the week.

The slow down bets makes me think clearly and stop me for doing risky bet. This is most important lesson I learned on this messy situation.

I am not 100% sure how it is in Blackjack, but I imagine it is similar, if not the same as in Poker. A good bankroll management implies betting smaller when you have losses, in the case of Poker going down a level, and I imagine that the case you mention is similar.

In the same way, when you have profits you can bet bigger, because the point is to have a minimum of x times the bet, so you avoid the risk of bankruptcy in case of a bad streak.

Of course, I prefer to manage my bankroll by betting EV+. With EV- games, no matter how well you manage the bankroll, the long term tendency is going to be losing, although with good management the money will last longer.
2365  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Just lost $4000 because of addresses starting with "bc1p" on: December 20, 2022, 05:35:16 AM
I'm with the OP, I don't know who came up with it but it doesn't seem like a good idea. I usually for small payments, like $50 I look over the characters, and I think that if at some point I make a mistake or get scammed by not checking, I will learn my lesson and from then on I will look at it more carefully. With $4k I would have been more careful, though.
2366  Other / Meta / Re: Shall we lock all topics about World Cup 2022 in next 7 or 14 days? on: December 20, 2022, 04:54:45 AM
If there is one for the after World Cup, the others could be closing, but if you think so, you can report them, OP. I'm not very clear on how the moderation system works and if moderators can close a thread without it being reported. I understand that they can, but maybe they prefer it to be reported because it is counted as work.

Anyway, I have a less and less bad image of the gambling section. There is garbage but without the section this forum would be very different.
2367  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Very thankful for what bitcoin has done for me. on: December 20, 2022, 04:48:34 AM
Yeah, well, we already have another thread praising Bitcoin with nothing concrete, which I guess he's hoping to fish for some merit. Supposedly because it allows him to work remotely, but that's not because of Bitcoin, it's because of the internet. There are many ways to make money online, which the internet allows, and the ways to make money with Bitcoin are a few among a very broad set. I would like to know more specifically the story of the OP to see if I just believe it.
2368  Other / Off-topic / Re: My story and where it is now..... on: December 19, 2022, 02:16:08 PM
At this time we can only give you support from a distance. I saw death close up some time ago and survived, but I am preparing myself mentally for the next time I find myself in a similar situation, being that I am a radical atheist.

I just sent you my signature campaign earnings from last week, it is not much but I was going to spend them in stupid consumption, so I better send them to you.
2369  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for December on: December 19, 2022, 03:14:50 AM
Well, it's been two thirds of a month already, but for the little that's left, and early next year, we're going to be bored, very bored. Unless we have one more exchange going bust or news like that, in which case the price would fall, or we have good news, which is unlikely, we are going to stay in the boring $17k-$20k or so band.
2370  Economy / Economics / Re: Binance's Alleged Crypto Audit Failed, Its Auditor Refused to Vouch For It on: December 19, 2022, 03:07:28 AM
CryptoQuant's Audit of Binance Reveals No 'FTX-Like' Behavior in Proof-of-Reserves

Binance Audited PoR Matches On-chain Data by 99% Says CryptoQuant

I would say that this case is not like FTX, and, moreover, I believe that the market is understanding it that way. With the FUD out there, if the big investors saw a parallel, the price would have dropped significantly by now.

It is normal that with everything that has happened this year, people are on the lookout, but this does not seem to be a case of accounting manipulation. I hope I am not wrong for everyone's sake.
2371  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Non-KYC BTC to fiat process on: December 18, 2022, 06:57:13 AM
This has been discussed many times in this section and I myself opened a thread about it. The answer will depend on how much we are talking about, because it is not the same €10k than €1M.

If we are talking about €1M is better to look for a tax advisor, there are ways to legalize it without paying practically nothing by creating a company in a third country that gives you a loan and things like that. I say it by hearsay but there are solutions for large capitals.

For more moderate amounts, with P2P, Bitcoin ATMs or things like that you have the problem solved, besides depositing moderate amounts of cash in your bank will not raise alarms, but I think yours is the first case, because €1k bought 10 years ago must have become a large capital, so spend the money in a specialized tax advisor who will have much better tax avoidance strategies than what we can tell you here.
2372  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Next bitcoin halving Countdown on: December 18, 2022, 06:50:26 AM
I usually use this one:

https://bitcoinblockhalf.com

But it doesn't matter, because they all predict the same, I think.

What's is your comments regarding next halving?

More than just about the next halving I would like to comment on the following image.

I would like to think that returns are somewhat cyclical and that Bitcoin is going to have positive returns next year. In 2011, 2015 and 2019 there were positive returns, or rather, in fact, the only years with negative returns were 2014, 2018 and 2022. Let's hope that at least until 2026 we won't have a loss year again.

2373  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How was your first attempt to play gambling on: December 17, 2022, 07:27:18 AM
How was your first start? Did you play blindly or spent some time to learn.?

As for poker, before I started playing with money, in micro limits, I practiced with play money and a console poker game, in addition to looking at some theory and some open raise tables.

The first few times I played with money, I had the open raise tables printed out and I bet according to them. Little by little I memorized them and I didn't need them anymore, just as I was modifying them as I went along, just like the postflop game.
2374  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We No Longer Pay People Directly on: December 17, 2022, 07:16:01 AM
I am pretty sure that mobile payments will become even bigger than everything else. We may not be aware of it right now, but almost all banks either have it or working on it where you as the vendor will show a QR code, and the payer will open up their bank app and just read the qr code and confirm the payment and that's it.

No more of this old card stuff, just our mobile phones will be enough. This already started and will be huge. During this period crypto will become huge as well because we will be able to pay with crytpo apps instead of bank apps and just pay the vendor. That future is great, I want to be in that future and it looks to be great.

I don't know where you live but mobile payments are already a reality in most rich countries, even for small payments, and I doubt that mobile payments using fiat will be replaced by cryptocurrency payments. It's going to depend a lot on legislation which is one thing that doesn't look good. If they impose KYC for any transaction, paying for a coffee will have you perfectly identified just like when you pay by card or CBDC and will also potentially create a taxable event. A taxable event, potentially, for every payment you make in your whole fucking life. For that I believe that people will not get complicated and will pay with the means that do not create taxable events.
2375  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: It's hard to trust any crypto CEO this days on: December 17, 2022, 07:05:12 AM
That's why it's better to stay away from crypto bullshit, or in other words shitcoins, and focus on Bitcoin, which doesn't have a CEO.

We shouldn't invest just because we trust anyone. The safest but not the quickest way to get rich is to buy Bitcoin and deposit it in your own hard wallet.

Right. What happens is that many people buy shitcoins like betting on roulette at the casino, they want to make a quick 100x to get out of their shitty life, instead of plotting a more boring but safer plan to improve their economic situation, and in that plan not even just the Bitcoin, although it is obviously part of it.
2376  Other / Meta / Re: Gambling Signature Trap Trolls on: December 17, 2022, 06:57:04 AM
I noticed the following troll behavior in the gambling forum:

1. You post a good quality post in a good quality topic, which does not get deleted by a mod.
2. OP deletes the entire thread minutes/hours just before the signature week is over.
3. You end up missing multiple posts from your paid signature.

Not only do you miss out on the weeks payment, this also makes you look bad in the eyes of the signature manager.

I haven't noticed it. You'd better be more selective with where you post. In my current signature campaign I have no posting requirements in the gambling section, but I do go there and write posts. In other previous campaigns I did have a minimum posting requirement, and it happened that the odd thread was moved to off-topic or something or it was deleted, but I think if you are selective with where you post and write like 2/3 posts over the weekly requirement you won't have a problem. I have never been left without payment because threads were deleted or moved.

Solution: I am thinking Bitcointalk should introduce a timed countdown for deletion and a notification system which notifies the posters before their posts are deleted? Just so we are warned that our post will be getting deleted in a certain amount of time? - excluding justified moderator deletions of crap topics/posts, because there is already a notification system for that.

No way is that going to be implemented. Follow my advice above.
2377  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin bottom prediction? on: December 16, 2022, 02:39:23 PM
I don't want to be too pessimistic, but seeing that this cycle is the worst in terms of returns in percentage terms so far, I think we can go lower. I think the absolute minimum we could reach would be around $10k. I think that is a round number that would trigger mass buy orders, an extremely strong support, in the same way that in the next cycle, when we approach $100k I think there is going to be a very strong resistance, with a lot of sell orders and it is going to take several attempts to beat it.
2378  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino Credit on: December 16, 2022, 02:22:04 PM
Do you have any experience with Casino credit or what is your opinion on it?

My opinion is that credit in general is a way to keep people poor. I don't have much information about casino credit but seeing that it can be used by high rollers surely they are not the typical person who can't make ends meet, although they are playing with fire.

I recommend everyone to bet amounts that they have to spare, that they really don't mind losing.
2379  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTC will always prevail on: December 16, 2022, 02:14:58 PM
What governments can do is make some massive bullshit regulations tolerating Bitcoin use under certain conditions, with KYC/AML rules enforced to the max, which seems to be the way they are going.

I think some time ago they realized that banning it was not going to help them and that it was much more useful for them to tolerate it but with maximum regulations, so that in the future doing Bitcoin transactions will be in most cases the same KYC as doing banking transactions, although there will always be a space for privacy and people doing P2P transactions escaping control.
2380  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: turned gambler after investing in BTC or investor turned gambler? on: December 15, 2022, 03:54:01 PM
Are you a gambler that become an investor or an investor that turned into a gambler?

Neither.Tthat dichotomy you raise is almost self-contradictory. If you had posed it as trader/gambler it would make more sense or in the case of investor, what it can lead to is betting on EV+ games like poker or sports betting.

In my case I got interested in Bitcoin after playing poker. I had previously been interested in the stock market as well and there is an extreme resemblance between a winning poker player's chart and a stock market chart. As for bitcoin, the resemblance in the graphs would be with respect to poker varieties with high variance, such as tournaments, sit&go turbo or spins.
