Will a standard AC adapter work for powering gridseeds? I have around five 12v 10a laying around and it's silent unlike standard gridseed PSU. Will they work to power 8 units each? Won't fry them or something?

You must ensure they have regulated voltage output. This means that the voltage they output does not vary with the attached load. It should also output 12 volts when no load is attached.

That's electrically impossible. Can you clarify what you mean?

Why exactly would that be possible?
draw is based on load. IF there is no load, it can't deliver anything. You can't spit electrons into empty air. I'm assuming poor wording, rather than magic Cheesy

forgetme?

A small bit of advice, if you don't mind.

Don't get in a pissing war with the detractors. Just don't respond, unless they bring up a point that actually needs addressing. When you do respond, do so respectfully, generally addressing the legit concern, and without directing it at them.

One other thing. Buy a punching bag. It will save you hours of grief Cheesy

I speak from experience. I've recently joined the dev team of earthcoin, and people come AT YOU all at once. It can be a bit overwhelming. Do the best you can. If your intentions are good, you'll do as well as the market allows. Never ignore criticism, but you can safely ignore insults. Criticism just might be real, or show you an angle you missed.

Good luck!

Cheers mate! However i don't care about haters and spammers, the difference will bee saw when KimoCoin will be launched. And so all the yellers should be mute at all Smiley

Just seemed like they were getting to ya. Hey, it's free advice. It's worth at least what you paid for it Cheesy

it seems, they really run off on the power blocks. Cant believe. Maybe they can built the desks in advance and then next week putting the powerblocks inside. Why do they sabotage themselve?

The good thing is that when the difficulty rises by 10 - 15 % again its not a huge catastroggedon as earlier...

the difficulty rise doesn't matter anyway. IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO RIOT IN ANY CASE.

Bitmine just fucked us all hard.

I hope the court is going to fuck them back.

It's never impossible to riot, you just need to gather about a dozen angry and/or drunk people. I'd think in this thread alone you could recruit a rather strong riot Cheesy

Sorry, couldn't resist. I know english isn't your language, it was just funny Cheesy

Marc

Following this with some interest.

I'd like to offer some advice to you, if you truly are a newbie on this forum. (good advice even if the account is all that's new Cheesy )

This place will get brutal, even if you're 100 percent legit. Not might, will. Do NOT react to this by insulting the trolls/freaks/concerned denizens. You can't tell them apart when emotions get hot.

If you have even a hint of delay, say so about a second after you know about it. This will raise your credibility in this very ugly market tenfold while costing you only time.
If someone wants a refund, give it, regardless of TOS. The positive feedback will give you more credibility, leading to more sales.

DO NOT VANISH!!!

Absolutely the worst thing you can do is stop communicating. Silence is not only not golden, it is the breeding ground of FUD. It will KILL your company. If something is wrong, tell us. We are aware that this is bleeding edge tech. If something unexpectedly goes right, Tell us! Everyone likes good news.

Don't lie. Even if the news is bad/ugly/fatal. You will be found out. Some of the company hunters here don't have any other goal in life. If you're legit, they are your best friend. But they will find EVERYTHING related to you, your company, you ancestry, your prefernces... once pissed off they are like robotic bloodhounds. They don't stop. So if you're legit, they'll help you. If you're not... well, you were warned.

Since the above comes off as a bit unfriendly, let me say that my tone is from having gotten too involved in one of your competitor's threads, and getting my own rep a bit tarnished by association. I personally came out good, but because of me I think some people bought a machine that is unlikely to ever be delivered. Inadvertent on my part, but a shame to me nevertheless. I actually wish you well, given attention to the above.

Been on for about an hour now... Rejects higher than eligius, but not outrageous. Hashrate at the pool (stats) is still at a variance to cgminer, but not that significant. Probably due to switching.

All in all, performing well! It appears you got the kinks out. Last time didn't work so good for me Cheesy Thanks for continuing to improve the pool.

Kevin.

Edit: after a couple hours, I'm seeing similar hashrate in stats as cgminer. Definitely fixed the issues! Outstanding!

Are you on vardiff or fixed diff? Some miner have had problems with vardiff causing massive rejects (i.e. 50%...!!!) so if you aren't already using manual diff maybe give that a shot to take them down further Smiley

already using fixed diff @64. You had set this up for me last time, and it made no difference. For whatever reason, my machine and your pool just didn't get along Tongue

This time around, it's just about flawless. The only real variation I'm getting is when it switches coins, and that seems to me like it's probably inevitable. A month made a lot of difference Cheesy I haven't tried with vardiff, and since I"m getting good results see no real reason to do so. But if you'd like me to for testing or whatever, let me know.

Plans are forming to hard fork some popular Scrypt coins to render Scrypt asics USELESS.  Do not buy Scrypt ASICS!!!!!  Don't even make them!

Penis envy?

Sorry, that was rude, but this does get on my nerves. Asics are a sign of SUCCESS of the scrypt algorithm. Bitcoin's network is just about impenetrable at this point. It would take the majority of the world's computing power to deliberately fork the network, and it would probably still fail after a few minutes. This is a GOOD THING if you are trying to secure the network.

Plus, GPU's are ridiculously expensive to operate, and asics are not. Those that want to develop for older/less efficient technologies are of course welcome to do so, but standing in the way of progress is a fool's game.

Gridseeds are quite affordable, even in comparison to GPU's, and no, I don't care about the "resale" argument. I'm a miner, not a gamer, and I couldn't care less if I can 'resell' my mining rig down the line because I bought the wrong damn thing. The dilution, due to many successful scrypt coins, will slow down the impact that asics will have on the coins by comparison to how fast bitcoin became an asic only game, but it does not change the fact that the tech exists, and is a positive development overall.

Luddism has never worked out. I'm remind of the old "Quiznos" add where the guy says "I fear change, I will keep my bushes".

It wouldn't even really be possible because there's a limit to how many addresses you can put in the coinbase transaction.
Actually, there isn't.
Although poorly designed mining software (*cough* cgminer) and hardware have forced us to artificially limit it Sad
As in it'd cause a hard fork?
No, just the miner ends up with a crappy hashrate :/
will bfgminer work eith Technobit HEX16b boards? I have been considering eliminating the tplink in my AMT unit and plugging the boards directly to my computer.
Not yet. nwoolls is working on this.

Well, at least it's in the pipleline Cheesy I really wish I could program..

As it has repetitively been explained, Eligius is special because it doens't -have- any money. It pays you directly from the generation transaction. Therefore, it can only pay out as much as it mines, as luck allows.

Huh? What's this whole manual transaction thing about, then?

When the system goes into failsafe mode, all transactions go into a cold wallet controlled by Wizkid057 and (I think) Luke-jr. When the database gets caught up and/or the error resolved, they initiate a manual payout. Also, as I understand it (and I could be wrong on this) they keep some reserves in there to take care of problems.

In any case, I've never seen it go more than three days of being borked up before Wk does a manual payout.

Right now I'm mining alts, but when I directly mine BTC this is the only pool I use. They've always been johnny on the spot fixing whatever goes wrong, and aside from the recent NMC thing that's still ongoing, it's always just been the stats and payouts. I've always gotten what I expected, except once when it was a bit more than I'd calculated Cheesy I'm assuming the error was in my math.

Don't stress it too much. These guys are honest and have demonstrated it over a fairly long period of time. I'm in the camp that wants them to initiate mandatory fees, as I think that they ought to be well compensated AND have time for maintenance. WK has indicated that he is not in favor of this, and it's his baby, so I'll just voice my opinion and continue to donate 1 percent whenever I mine here.

I don't recall which pool it is, but at least one of the multipools switches to Eligius when they are mining bitcoin. So I know it's doable. I'll try to find out who and let you know. I'm gonna try you again here, and see how it goes. Last time not so well, but if I can get it to hash stable, it looks like more fun than just BTC mining Cheesy

EDIT: It's www.multipool.us

 Here's their Eligius stats.

whew! I was gone for awhile, and just coming back to all this craziness. Lots rolling around in my head, so lets see what comes out.

I think cryptozark is correct, ASICs is the correct way to go. As much as we miners may hate that idea. (and I cant afford one when they start rolling out)

I'm I bit conflicted on what to think about the community here. On one hand all these expressed opinions shows there is support and people for EAC. On the other makes me think of CEO's who cant see the forest for the trees and only wants to see quarterly profits, and damn the long term goals.

We do have the ability to really do some good here! We (myself included) covet those who find riches in crypto. But we have an opportunity with EAC to do good beyond our keyboards. Embrace this, and there is a chance that good can come back to you.

cryptozark - im glad you are pledging charitable and humanitarian goals of EAC is still valid. I have personally sent an email (today)  to the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation (and will be calling them tomorrow). I know its a very long shot, but maybe if everyone here emails and calls them seeking to help others, EAC may take off in unexpected ways. Honestly, if everyone put the energy I see here into trying to help others via crypto though already established organisations, I think we can kick EAC to #2 in marketcap.

It's definitely in the real live BTC blockchain.  Is this a personal wallet or online wallet (like an exchange)?

M

Have a blockchain.info wallet - never had a problem with Eligius payments before on my wallet and got one the other day. Ahhh blockchain.info grrrrr update

It's my understanding (I don't use blockchain.info so take it for a research point) that you can export your private keys from your blockchain.info wallet and import them into a client such as QT or Electrum. If so, this should fix the problem for you. Well, if you're using QT that will also involve waiting an interminable amount of time for the blockchain to download Cheesy

In my opinion regarding PoS,

Both parties had their say and that is it.
And can I please ask to have further discussion of PoS in another thread? As it turns out the PoS discussion is now overruling EarthCoin as a topic and to me it seems that neither party has a benefit on that.

Thanks.

Noted. Thanks for reining me in. It's hard to hit a moving target. I've had my say, both here and in private. I'm done now on POS.

As to the other point, whether the mining curve is too inflationary, I tend to think it is. We are discussing possible changes there.

Any thoughts from those who think? This is just a thought, nothing concrete, but would a 25% reduction twice, rather than the full halving interval, be a good idea? Why or why not?
2399  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: March 20, 2014, 05:26:00 PM
I want someone to tell AMT to eat a bowl of dick while on the stand. I mean I really want it to happen, I want to see it happen and I want to see the look on people's faces.

I'm wondering how the people who aren't on this forum are going about thing?
That would be priceless! That would almost be worth losing, just to say it in open court Cheesy

@ testbitcoiner, and then I'm done with you.

I was paid, that is true. Haven't spent a single bit of it, nor do I intend to while the price is so low. I imagine you've been paid for a job here and there too. I am not a yes man. I have been quite critical at times. Being positive and being a yes man are entirely different things.

That being said, you have displayed again the classic techniques of someone who simply wants attention by either ignoring the argument or changing it. Once again, you either failed to read or did not care what I stated.

Proof Of Stake is NOT INTEREST!

Interest is money paid on principle from repayment of loans. Proof of Stake is a secondary creation of currency.

And your bitterness towards miners makes no sense. Without miners, there is no network. Without a network, there is no Earthcoin.... Oh. I guess it does make sense.

And now I'm done with you. Get someone who knows how to debate to post your points from now on, if indeed you have any.
