2401  Economy / Reputation / Re: Only for the BOLD and Braves. Let's have a discussion. on: August 10, 2022, 04:26:44 PM
The way that the DT system is right now, it serves nobody but a select few. Its not even a trust system at this point. Its a "you scratch my back and I scratch yours" kind of system. It has almost absolutely nothing to do with how trustworthy a person is but rather who he is liked/disliked by. Its a system of favoritism.

We absolutely need an complete overhaul of the trust system or we will keep seeing people abuse it for their own purposes. I imagine there is even some trust selling going on in the background.

Maybe we should have a community voting system for who gets DT instead? Obviously the "DT club" alone cannot be trusted with responsibility. Anyone who does not deserve to be in the system gets voted out by the entire Bitcointalk community. We can have votes once a year or something.
2402  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does bitcoin dump have any impact on gamblers ? on: August 10, 2022, 04:10:05 PM
Gamblers around the world use crypto and bitcoin to play the bets. Do they really care if the bitcoin prices dump hard? I know traders are directly impacted by this dump, and investors are also in panic but what about gamblers. Their motive is to play gamble and they may not be a concerned if the price of bitcoin is declining sharply?
It seems to me that a gambler has nothing to do with his bitcoin market rise. If he is betting by converting to dollars then I think his assets are sometimes dumping the market There will be no effect. But this is completely opposite when you consider the case of an investor and trader. Their investment depends entirely on market conditions.

If the gambling sites depend on the value of the cryptocurrency then, it has a big impact on gamblers. But, I think that gambling sites use cryptocurrency which is not converted to USD since we all know that market is very volatile it can go up and down.
If the gambler has placed his bet in bitcoin or ethereum after the market has moved up or down or the market has changed.Gambler's Bitcoin will change. Stablecoins can also be bet directly on many betting sites.

If the gambler is betting with cryptocurrency that dumps and pumps like Ethereum then obviously I think that his gamblers nature will make him feel as if he is in a bad trade. At that point he might trade his coin for a stablecoin. But thats a mistake that people make without knowing whether or not their crypto will go up or down again. An if it goes up instead of down the gambler will have made a loss on his holdings.

So I think its best to either bet with stablecoins or not trade back and forth if the market isnt looking good.

Oh cool, I just realised I am legendary. What do I do? Celebrate?

You get to spend some quality one-on-one time with myself at the $100k party, if you catch my meaning.

If you swing that way, that is...

Wait, you're trying to say you're coming to the 100k party? I thought you mentioned several times here on WO that you're not coming due to opsec issues? Are you giving us a glimpse of hope? Or is this some kind of private party 1 on 1 with goldkingcoiner?  Grin

I might be changing my mind Smiley

That strongly depends on the amount of alcohol and illicit substances we have available at the party.
2405  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ignore the dip and Invest in Bitcoin for long term on: August 09, 2022, 05:04:32 PM
Ignoring the dip is probably the unhealthiest way to cope. In fact, you should not be putting yourself into a situation in which you wish to cope. The problem is your short termed mindset of an investment, thats true. It means you are not 100% onboard or having second thoughts.

If you asked around any veteran coiner and early BTC adopter would tell you the same thing - here's what you need to actually do:

Replace the word dip with the word bargain. Because thats what each dip should be, in your eyes. A limited time bargain price. Once you develop the hodlers mindset, you will see how fast your investments are gaining traction.

2407  Economy / Gambling / Re: DUELBITS ASK FOR KYC WHEN YOU WANT TO WITHDRAW YOUR EARNED PROFITS on: August 09, 2022, 03:41:15 PM
THEY LET YOU CREATE ACCOUNT... DEPOSIT... BET... NO SIGN OF KYC ANYWHERE... UNTIL YOU WANT TO WITHDRAW YOUR FUNDS

I hate to break it to you, but that is simply not true.

From DuelBits AML and KYC policy:
Quote
The first step of verification is an electronic KYC (Know Your Customer) check, must be done before any Withdrawal is possible. duelbits.com is not responsible for any delays in withdrawal created by the KYC checks.

After a user deposits funds to Duelbits using any depositing option provided by the company, except CS:Go Skins, there is a minimum percentage of the amount that must be wagered until a withdrawal for the said funds is requested, otherwise the company reserves the right to ask for any additional KYC documentation and freeze the user’s funds until the KYC requirement is fulfilled.

Now, don't tell me you didn't read the terms of service before you deposited your funds at the casino. Shame on you!  Cheesy

Seems like an open and shut case, Johnson.  Tongue

Obviously OP is at fault for not reading the terms and conditions. Although after having taken a look at his trust ratings its obvious this is not the first time he has been trying to slap mud on the name of a trusted online gambling casino. Say what you like but it even seems like giving casinos a bad name is his job. I wonder if other casinos hire him to do this?

Either way its what I would deem Libel. The casinos he has continually defamed could give him a bad time if they wanted.
2408  Economy / Reputation / Re: If You're active in the gambling discussion you have to read this on: August 09, 2022, 01:56:24 PM
Not only is this guy, Zarfund, a complete troll who deletes posts randomly, he is also a scammer who tried to scam people out of their money. At some point we need to set bans on scammers like him. Not just bans but IP bans. They might do nothing for someone with a VPN but it will clean up some of the trash thats scamming around on this forum. At some point leaving negative trust feedback really does nothing. And newbies still read his topics without understanding the kind of person he is.

If not a ban, could we at least get global ignores for all user-posts or a mechanism for denying users with a certain amount of negative trust the freedom to create topics?
2409  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: taking out a loan for a sports bet (UPDATE) + fixed match on: August 08, 2022, 08:22:59 PM
Hi everyone, about a month ago I made a post about having insider info for a soccer match and I asked the community what the best way was to take out a large loan. I had a lot of people advise me not to do so, so I took your advice and didn't take out a loan, instead I just placed the amount I already had in my account.

Anyway, the bet won easily so I couldn't help but feel like I should've taken out the loan... Sad

I wanted to share a match on here in case anyone wants to follow along, I'm unable to place a large bet on this so I'm hoping someone else takes advantage. I hope this isn't against any community guidelines.

I am glad you won the bet, but taking out a loan to gamble was a bad life decision which could have taken a very bad turn. I hope your latest gambling win does not inspire you to take out more loans to gamble with. As far as betting goes, I only bet with money I can afford to lose without having to take out any borrowed money. In fact, I hate asking for loans. How did you even convince someone to loan you money to use for betting? Hopefully that was not mafia loans  Roll Eyes Tongue. That could have turned out really badly.

2410  Economy / Gambling / Re: The History Of Gambling. on: August 08, 2022, 03:17:59 PM
Everything out there is a bet really. Just think of every day life, you will be taking many decisions. Some of them are stupid and some of them are trivial - like what to dress or what to eat. However, many of the decision you take have pros and cons that are really important for your life and the life of other that you love. Something as stupid as to decide if you would take over a car in a road is a bet.

That seems very philosophical but you are not wrong in thinking that way. Life itself is obviously risky and everything we do is risky. The only thing we can really win by gambling at this casino named life, is more time.

Everything we do just gives us more time but in the end, the casino wins and we lose. Losing in this case means not only losing our money but everything we own, are or ever will be. Thats death basically. The worst loss you can experience in your lifetime.

But as with gambling normally at a casino, this type of "life gamble" is what we need. Otherwise can you imagine how boring existance would be?
2411  Other / Off-topic / Re: Telegram scam attempt on: August 08, 2022, 12:29:28 PM
Any stranger reaching out to you on telegram is 99.9% a scammer. If I were you I would avoid them. You can turn off the option of being contacted by strangers or added to groups in the Telegram options. I would recommend turning both off. I did and I have my peace now.

We are so early. #Bitcoin

source

Can you imagine the value of Bitcoin, once its limited supply has been made legal tender by the entire population of Earth?

We already are at the stage of small country adoption of Bitcoin as legal tender. Once a big country like Mexico joins in(and they will), then we will see the next stage of adoption. I believe that Bitcoin will become the global world currency. It's coming in the next 2-5 years. Definitely.

Shows something dark in the american psyche, imho.

The idiot masses will make a cult out of what they consider "AI predictions" in the near future. Feel free to screenshot this.

It's no "Three days of the Condor", which was a very good movie made in mid seventies and has some similarities, but by no means parallel.

Also thanks for the movie idea. I watched it and I am adding it to my list

The Phantom Carriage or Körkarlen 1921, Swedish Silent Horror Film, by and Starring Victor Sjöström.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ew6XUvvoK_o

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZ1RTpikz8I

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GxPl4HPHOSU

I know it's available with English text, but I couldn't find it on youtube.
It's a classic, the ax scene from the shining, among other scenes, comes from this movie.

I added it to my list.

Also, this is the english translated full version. (Bad quality and weird music added): but https://youtu.be/ZvQzaSa_4Q0
Don't listen to the audio, it ruins the film.

2418  Bitcoin / Meetups / Re: How can I successfully organize a Bitcoin workshop on: August 05, 2022, 08:10:10 PM
Before you get any wrong conceptions, No I am not launching another scam.

I live in India and currently am studying engineering. My university has pretty sharp minds and is very good in what they are doing, however, there is a very wrong conception about BTC among the same audience. Nobody understands bitcoin. To make it worse there is a wrong conception about Bitcoin from the same, brought in from old concepts about money and the government.

To my ignorance, I wouldn't care about this anytime, yet I think having a basic workshop about how a Bitcoin works can help people to THINK, I believe. To bring in people, I am willing to put some promising offers for the candidates joining the seminar.

Will this help in any way?

Share your thoughts.

Its a bit hard to take your university serious and as "sharp minded" when people do not understand a very simple concept which has thousands of explaination videos on youtube which even explain Bitcoin in a way a non-coding layman can understand. It seems more likely that the problem is not that they do not understand but rather there is no interest among anyone at your university.

So from my point of perspective, the problem that you should be solving is how to get people interested in Bitcoin.

Your problem is a marketing problem. Find ways to market Bitcoin to them in a way that connects the old ways and the new and will drive people to become interested in Bitcoin.
2419  Economy / Gambling / Re: FORTUNEJACK.COM |Deposit 777 play with 1777 mBTC |Live Casino, Slots, Betting on: August 05, 2022, 06:49:30 PM
The new site looks really good and feels much much smoother than the last iteration, I also saw that a bunch of new games got added which is very nice. FJ back to the top baby Wink
The websites we see here are new but better than the old ones and the movies we see here are still much better.
These games if we finally let me wait about minutes but here if we delete some of these things here if we see that it just proves that here we have to wait patiently but anyway the websites that are here seem to be very good.  going to do

Fortunejack is really upping the game when it comes to user experience design! I really like how pleasantly the colors match and overlap on the new version. It does not hurt the eyes and games are easy to find and understand. I have not yet had the pleasure of trying out the new games but I definitely will, when I find the time!

A lot of people assume that I am merely promoting this casino for money but the truth is, I have really started to like the site. Most comfy gambling experience that I have ever had!

I hope FJ stays at the top as number 1 for years to come! Good job, Fortunejack team! Kiss
2420  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 - September 17 on: August 05, 2022, 06:38:50 PM
Teddy Atlas expressed his opinion in his podcast about the second Canelo-GGG fight and the upcoming rematch, indeed, as he believes that "the old lion can roar for the last time" and it is obvious that the victory of GGG can only provide a clear advantage that does not cause doubt among the judges and here, it seems to me, Golovkin can only count on KO.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dyHI95xEqF0

The judges are already under fire, for their bias towards Canelo during the first two fights against Golovkin, and during Canelo's fight against Bivol. Do you really believe that they will risk their reputation again by showing naked bias towards Canelo? That would infuriate a lot of fans out there. And although I understand that a second consecutive defeat for Canelo can cause huge losses to the American boxing syndicates, the solution is not to rig the scorecard. Trust me, that will have just the opposite impact of what is desired by them.

As much as a fan of Canelo that I am, I really cannot condone bias, especially from people with a position of power and responsibility like actual judges. They have already damaged their reputation far enough for me to distrust them completely. If anything this is why a large amount of people in the gambling world believe that even big fights like this are rigged. And the more I see unfair bias, the more I have to agree with them on that assessment.

I hope things start changing soon because the judges really ruin the fight for everyone. I find myself losing interest in whatever fight they have a say in.
