2481  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Passive income of 15% per annum in USDT and USDC on: September 28, 2022, 03:01:37 PM
Smells fishy for a so-called legit crypto bank offering 15% per annum interest using stablecoins. It seems like a Ponzi scheme trying to prolong the period of survival in the hope of reaching the next halving and earning huge profit out of it. But they can easily close the company and declare bankruptcy. It is better if you should just buy your own preferred coins and then hold them yourself.

The biggest per annum interest rate I can see at the moment from a registered bank is around 4%. And this is insured at a limit of around $10,000.
2482  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you think blockchain gaming technology will have evolved by 2030? on: September 28, 2022, 02:38:47 PM
Yes, blockchain gaming will continue to grow. Play-to-earn games will continue to grow despite a lot of setbacks happening with most of the games having a hard time balancing their economies. I think some developers will come up soon with better systems that are capable of surviving for many years. The rewards probably are minimal compared to the current NFT P2E games that are mostly for money purposes hyped by its devs.

A game like PUBG is earning billions of dollars yearly. Imagine if it's a blockchain P2E game and is willing to reward like $100 million for its top 10,000 players?

It's hard to comment negatively on Michael Jordan spending $5 million of bets in a single night. Aside from being a billionaire, he is also a successful businessman. We can take it in a positive or a negative way, it doesn't erase the fact that he is successful in managing his assets.

His son though is another story. According to the laws of Nevada, it was wrong, so that's it. I guess they just settled it with the authorities privately. But I guess all of us here tasted alcohol and gambled even before reaching 19 years old? But making it public, especially for a son of a celebrity is a big NO. That kid was just feeling arrogant, as if it was his own hard-earned money being spent.
2484  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 28, 2022, 01:12:04 PM
Giannis Antetokounmpo just called Stephen Curry the best basketball player at the moment. Meanwhile, ESPN's NBArank released its top 100 players for the 2022-2023 season. Here are the top 5;

1. Giannis Antetokounmpo
2. Nikola Jokic
3. Luka Doncic
4. Joel Embiid
5. Stephen Curry

It's pretty interesting and exciting who will be the better players in the coming season. Embiid and Curry might not be able to compete to become top 1 since they are also surrounded by very good players too. And I am glad that Jamal Murray is back to help Jokic and the Nuggets. Luka Doncic and the Mavericks are probably the weakest team out of these top players and their teams.

It's not surprising anymore that Giannis will be at the top of ESPN's list or any sports outlet's listings, the man has improved a lot since he was drafted way back 2013 and still continues to dominate the league. The NBA is becoming much more interesting this coming season because almost each team have grown stronger. Although I cannot agree that Luka Doncic is the weakest out of these top players, in my own ranking, Luka is much better than Jokic.

I agree with the rankings, stats wise Giannis is leading all the way. I think Jokic is better than Luka but only by a slight margin, so maybe you are right too especially since Jamal Murray is back which means some stats might be taken off this season. My comparison earlier was actually between Dallas and Denver. I think Denver Nuggets have a better line-up for next season. I expect Luka's stats to continue rising especially since he is the only superstar on the team. And the fact that he is becoming more experienced at this very young age he already reached the western conference finals without much help.

I know Japan is a very rich country too. Japan is the third biggest economy in the world after the US and China. But I'm still wondering how they are willing to pay $20 million dollars just to see Mayweather facing a non-boxer. Or the Japanese just had a different taste when it comes to sports. I heard Rizin is very popular there and they also had superstars just like K1 before and they are paid well.

On the other hand, yesterday I read a line that Mayweather had a done deal with Connor McGregor. Must be a hoax, but not surprising considering how these athletes talk and hype themselves.

By the way, Floyd Mayweather is currently in the Philippines. He must be looking for Naruto after dispatching Sakura.
2486  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Education seems to have failed in some developing country on: September 27, 2022, 07:35:17 AM
In life, there are no guarantees. It's like you play dice in a casino and you picked the 90% win rate probability. So is it a guarantee that you can win? Of course not. The same with education, it cannot guarantee jobs that people are longing for but educated people are still favorites to get the job rather than those not educated at all.

I do not understand what is OP looking for. Do people need to stop going to school because education isn't guaranteed to land jobs?

Sometimes overpopulation and lack of decent jobs and a poor economy are the reason behind unemployment. I knew some Nigerians had great jobs in other countries. The same in my country, there are a lot of our people working abroad for greener pastures.
2487  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you invest in micro cap altcoins? on: September 27, 2022, 07:07:50 AM
I tried it before and had some success especially when the market is generally doing good. But for now, it is difficult due to the market situation. So for now, I only have League of Ancients or LOA and Synergy of Serra. I believe these NFT play-to-earn games have very good potential but I think I made a bad decision by investing at the start of a bearish market. I could've purchased them now at cheaper prices.

The reason why I continue to look for micro-cap altcoins is that every coin at the top started as a micro-cap altcoin. And I want to catch some of these projects that have high ROI. Risky but it will be worth it when successful.
2488  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 27, 2022, 06:47:23 AM
Media day for the NBA and so far Jimmy Butler’s “locks” have stolen the show. Also of note, Jae Crowder got permission from the Suns to not report to training camp while they search for a trade. He posted something on social media about not being wanted and looking for a new home… Still no word on why the Lakers postponed their press conference last week. I guess whatever they were planning may have not materialized.
I've heard about this too, the Jae Crowder thing.
Rumors are saying he wants to be in Memphis Grizzlies or they are interested to get him.

I'm also hearing that Jae Crowder is not going to the Phoenix Suns training camp. Is Jae expecting a contract extension? Memphis Grizzlies do need some veterans to help their young core but Jae's gonna get benched a lot there. Maybe the Miami Heat can take him as a replacement for P.J. Tucker? Jae's also had good chemistry with Jimmy Butler, Adebayo, and co so he is a very good fit. Although if Jae's looking for a contract extension then it will be a different story. Another thing to look at is the Phoenix Suns' demand in return.
2489  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: September 27, 2022, 06:27:49 AM
So it's less than a week before the last chance qualifier starts in Singapore and then another few days before The International officially kicks in. A close friend keeps convincing me that we should get there and see it live. Maybe someone from here is coming there too? If this event happened pre-Covid I would go there 100%.

I'm expecting the outright odds to favor Team Spirit, OG, and PSG LGD. In the last qualifier, I am still hoping for T1 to qualify.
2490  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Naoya Inoue vs Paul Butler - Undisputed Bantamweight Bout - December 13 on: September 27, 2022, 05:57:28 AM
So I thought Inoue would spend all his training time in the Wildcard Gym with Freddie Roach for the Butler fight but he left for Japan. The undisputed unification bout is expected to happen this December in Japan so there's still some time for Inoue to relax and not overtrain.

I thought the fight contracts are fully signed and official but it isn't. I hope everything in the negotiations is doing well because it's such a waste of time and effort if it won't happen. Although this looks suicidal for WBO champion Paul Butler and the venue is also expected in Japan.
2491  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: September 27, 2022, 05:15:54 AM

Pink Poodle is full of confidence that he can beat Petr Yan. He was even surprised that he is a 4-1 underdog. Honestly, this is one of the fights that I never expect to happen. I thought the Pink Poodle was just bluffing about fighting Yan. It's less than a month before the actual fight, although it's still a lot of time for Pink Poodle to back out and make excuses.

UFC 280 is a very stacked event. Rooting for the underdogs Oliveira, TJ, Belal, and Dariush. Maybe I should just parlay them together with Yan. Cheesy

2493  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: September 26, 2022, 02:09:29 PM
I also believe that Bud Crawford have the higher hand in this fight, the man is fearless and could break mountains if he has to. While Spence here is clearly trying to drag the schedule because he knows that Crawford won't be the same as time goes by.

I don't think Spence is avoiding Crawford to expect that the latter won't be the same as time goes by.

While Crawford is catching age, the same for Spence too. Bud is 34 years old while The Truth is 32 years old. I don't think there's a big difference in their strength or having a huge gap in their skills with that 2 years difference in their age.

While Bud is building a legacy, Spence is a businessman. He wants to make sure that he will get the most share of every fight. If he fight Crawford before, he might end up taking the small share of the purse split that's why he established his career first and build his reputation to become the PPV King.

It's probably not about the age gap because it's not that too far, it's not like GGG vs Canelo, and Pacman vs Ugas. There's a big reason why this fight is still not announced until now, the number 1 reason is probably the split of the money, and I have a feeling hyping this fight would not help anymore in order to make it happen.

Crawford is turning 35 already. And he is turning a year inactive too. If they are fighting in November then Spence will benefit from the short span of training. We know boxing is business but when people are ducking then they will also expect bash from the fans.

It is a fact that Spence is a better draw than Crawford if we are to base their previous PPV buys. But Spence is also too far from being called a PPV king. The current PPV king is Canelo followed by AJ, Usyk, and Fury. And would you guys believe that Tank Davis despite cherry-picking no-named opponents is just at par with Spence's PPV buys?
2494  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Dmitry Bivol vs Zurdo Ramirez on: September 26, 2022, 01:34:30 PM
Well, it's not new anymore that people wanted some spices before the actual fight to somehow make the fight more interesting. I know Zurdo is one of a kind but he needs to prove himself first against Bivol before starts boasting and saying lines like that.

If that is what he believes, then we just have to let it that way. Zurdo might be boasting but actually, he won't have the guts to say things like that if he's not sure about it. Might be because of his perfect record, he thinks achieving it is really difficult although he's correct on that regardless of the level of popularity of those he fought before.

Against Bivol, this might be the biggest fight of his career that's why he is pumped up. Let's wait if his talks is not just about talk.

Well, if Bivol hasn't fought Canelo earlier then this will be a normal fight for Zurdo. Golden Boy Promotions would be the sole promoter and there is a possibility that they will rob Bivol of a victory if there are rounds that are a little close.

Back to reality, I hope both fighters are in their best condition. I love the neutral venue which is beneficial to the defending champion. I know Bivol is in love with boxing technique but I would love to see knockdowns and knockouts.
2495  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Haney vs Kambosos II (Undisputed) on: September 26, 2022, 01:02:42 PM
Pretty sure the result will be Haney wins by decision. In the first match, Kambosos couldn't touch Haney, and nothing will change in this 2nd match except for the increase of the KO probability because Kambosos will be more aggressive, which will make him out of his style. Honestly, this match is boring, unlike what we expected when Loma was the king. Hopefully, the winner won't chicken out when Loma is coming.
When he really wants to maximize the KO in this fight, the thing he has to do is clearly more difficult but indeed this is a choice because if he forces a fight with decisions then Haney is clearly the favorite.
In the first fight Haney already knew that Kambosos would play with speed so he held back a little, it was not impossible that he would also do something like this again in the second fight.
Kambosos better not aim for a single big shot to KO Haney. Haney knows that Kambosos will try to unleash everything in this rematch so I am expecting the young champion to become more careful which can make this rematch more boring. But if Kambosos can impose his style like what he did on Teofimo then maybe we can see a better fight than the first one.

There is no escaping for the winner of this fight because Lomachenko is the WBO mandatory. Haney also mentioned that he wants Lomachenko. Should Kambosos wins, he can vacate his WBO belt and give up his undisputed status if he wants to avoid Loma. But Kambosos earlier was scheduled to take Loma before the cancellation due to the war. So Lomachenko should be fighting for the undisputed belts soon.

I hope Loma still has it. He was actually the one collecting the belts one by one before that injury that caused his defeat to Teofimo Lopez.
2496  Economy / Gambling / Re: BK8 - Biggest and Most Trusted Brand. Asia's #1 Crypto online casino BTC & USDT on: September 26, 2022, 12:29:48 PM
Still more than a month to go before kick off for the World Cup, means that there is still enough time for BK8 to prepare promotion for this event.
Hopefully BK8 will have big promotions for this event even though I dont really like such football world event but I believe there are many people who are waiting for this event and willing to bet on the matches during the event.
Perhaps we can make suggestions on what type of promotions for this event...any idea?

For those who don't like football from the national team, maybe this event is not that interesting. I also don't like world cup at all. I prefer to watch Serie A. Whereas in the world cup, I will start watching after the group stage, just to wait for the big match. As for promotional ideas, I don't have any ideas, maybe the current promotion methods can be applied and run some quizzes or score predictions, that's enough to make users happy with BK8 offer.
I am not like football soo much. But i like Cricket more then football and many time i put my money for betting Against Cricket. and It's give me high entertainment with winning profit. Although football is a fun game, I find it quite boring. But cricket is known to me as a great fun game. And if it is free bet then it will be more interesting

I'm sad that Italy was not able to qualify but football's World Cup is the biggest sporting event so I'm confident that there will be great promotions coming up. I am also hoping for some promotions on the coming The International in DOTA 2 e-sports. TI in short is also the biggest e-sport event so it would be cool if there are promotions too. Jerseys exclusive to Bitcointalk users please @BK8.Official. Grin

Anyways, I am just so excited with many great events coming up. NBA will also start in the next few days.
2497  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My worst day in gambling on: September 26, 2022, 12:04:50 PM
Your worst day comes at the right time, if you continue winning you will end up addicted to gambling at a very young age, gambling is not for teens like you and you find that early in your life at a huge cost of not getting an exam because the money you use is for your tuition, I think you're a better person when it comes to gambling now because you learned in your early years that you don't chase your winnings, and you have a level of control in gambling.
A lot of people have always learned the hard way and OP is just one of them, except if that experience didn't change anything when it comes to responsible gambling.

As for me, I gambled most of my remaining ETHs and some BTC on different gambling sites and casinos last 2019. I thought the crypto market is not recovering anytime soon and I went YOLO. I knew it would fucked up, especially since I was gambling extensively rather than my usual meticulous picks on sports betting. I was supposed to HODL those coins and just gamble responsibly.

2499  Economy / Economics / Re: Will crypto jobs make government jobs irrelevant in the near future? on: September 24, 2022, 04:57:44 AM
This doesn't make any sense at all. These are 2 different things.

So crypto and blockchain offer more secure jobs than government jobs? I don't think so. There are millions of stable government jobs that offered very good salaries and benefits. And how many jobs do crypto and blockchain offer at the moment? Unless there is a global crypto and blockchain adoption, until then jobs are still limited and not that secured compared to many government jobs.

So shilling, trading, and investing are secured jobs eh?
2500  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Go home with a profit and come back to end up losing a lot. on: September 24, 2022, 04:37:16 AM
I haven't experienced winning $8,000 in a single day. I do experience betting with a budget limit of $2,000 per day and after several months of playing, I stopped it. I was losing thousands of dollars so I realized that I needed a vacation and to stay out of gambling for a while. I am still betting up to this day but with very small limits.

If I were that person in OP's story, I would've called it a day and then come back the other day but of course with a betting limit. It is greed versus discipline. And sometimes, we only realized when the damage has been done.
