1621  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Caleb Plant vs David Benavidez on: March 20, 2023, 05:12:16 AM
And they are still hyping this fight even if it is just a week away from it:

https://twitter.com/BOXINGFOTY/status/1636899331344330752

This is a supposedly video of Caleb Plant getting kicked out of a boxing gym in Las Vegas for not paying his gym fees. Not sure if this is real or what or just a promotional stunt for this upcoming fight. How can a professional boxer not pay for a gym? or maybe he has his own gym as well.  And it was said the Benavidez Sr is the one who posted this video and this is not recent.

And with this, they are not trending in Twitter hehehe.

What do you guys think of it?

Caleb just got $10 million in a single fight when he fought Canelo, that's a crazy amount which is even bigger than the whole paydays of both David and his brother Jose combined. Caleb can even make his own gyms if he wants. That dumb gym owner is either broke and was asking for more money knowing Caleb has a lot of it or he got paid like $10k to sabotage Caleb's training. Both sides are trying to distract each other anyways, maybe this is the Benavidez side of revenge after Caleb paid and is now owning DavidBenavidez.com. I'm not a big fan of either side and I was very glad when Canelo slapped Caleb a few years ago. But now I want Caleb to be the first to defeat David Benavidez. Hopefully, he can shake David a bit in the early rounds to earn his respect and fight smart until the fight lasts. I have a feeling that David might get fatigued in the late rounds if he cannot catch Caleb with his power punches.

You are right OP. I had the same mindset when I was a kid until I realized that we live in a different world where greed, power, religion, race, and politics are keeping us apart from becoming an ideal world.
1624  Economy / Economics / Re: What will you do if bitcoin crash? on: March 18, 2023, 12:21:22 PM
If bitcoin will crash I will remain in the middle, not rich and not that poor. Cheesy But seriously, why not give some reasons as to the possibility of bitcoin crashing? And what is that Barazar platform? Was it an investment platform or an exchange like FTX? Whatever happens to them is not bitcoin's fault. Bitcoin already crashed during the FTX crash and then the price went up again establishing another higher high in this still bearish season. Long-term investors should just keep their bitcoins away from centralized exchanges to avoid the risk of losing.
1625  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 18, 2023, 11:57:32 AM
But let's take a look at the fact that Joel Embiid is showing top of the line stats every game. Not just in offense but Embiid is also showing consistency in providing good defense. That consistency help him push his way up on the MVP ladder rankings and put Jokic on a brink of a possible failed attempt in getting his 3rd consecutive MVP award.

I'm more looking forward that the season MVP award will now finally being achieved by Joel Embiid this time. It's been several years since the "Trust the Process" commenced and he never failed to become the only consistent Sixers player to show good performance every season.

At least Joel being healthy right now is pushing for the MVP, last season he is also toe to toe with Jokic until he got that injury and prevented him again to fight for that trophy. Now it's going to be close and indeed have overtaken Jokic.

So it's going to be a close one for this year, and Joel chances are high specially if will maintain his stats.
Wow! Just as the regular season is ending, Joel Embiid suddenly rises and is in a serious attempt to get the MVP. Earlier, I thought this season will be another easy Jokic 3-peat MVP and if there is someone that is getting close to him, I was expecting it would be Giannis. It is also a factor that the 76ers are on a 7-game winning streak which would further validate Embiid's case. 13 remaining games and I think the MVP race is still in contention, I also give Giannis the chance to win especially since the Bucks have the best record in the NBA and it's been performing very well even the time when Middleton is out.
1626  Economy / Economics / Re: Lending money or damaging family bond ? on: March 18, 2023, 11:35:04 AM

That would really suck. I get the habit of welcoming others, but maybe not being to the point of you being the doormat. Regardless of any amount, the trust was already lost at that point and you even mentioned that you're not rich. Having a money lent to someone is just like an investment of you thinking that the money you gave will surely be losses and you would not get it back regardless.

This is why I also do not really want to lend. I hate chasing people to pay and I don't really enjoy interacting with people that are trying to test my patience. It is either I would not talk to you at all anymore or I would talk to you in a one-liner to end the communication there and never ever hear anything from me again.

And to think that many of them are non-interest bearing especially to close friends and relatives. I am not into lending as well, but there are times that are unexpected and you feel like you need to help them and thought you can trust them. Then all of a sudden you realized they aren't the person you are expecting.

I also have the same personality as you. I do not want to collect my receivables as they are supposed to be the ones to come to me and pay. And that's really what happened, I am staying away from them and avoiding further conversations.

1628  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: March 18, 2023, 11:10:44 AM
There is some factor to consider that will determine the result of the fight.  One is whether Fulton is able to absorb Inoue's punches.  If he do then we can see the fight go in a distance probably resulting to a decision.  Another factor is whether Inoue can withstand Fulton's punches.  If Inoue can't then the result might disappoint many viewers and millions of Inoue fans.

And we can only see that on their big night. I do hope that both pointers you have mentioned will be shown by both boxers.

I like to see this fight toe-to-toe to the point that no one can determine who will be the winner at the end until the final bell rings.

But as much as possible, I want to see this fight ending in a TKO regardless of who, but the whole fight is close. Really worth watching.

I'm glad to see another great fight coming up. I wish another unifications or any champions vs champions will be scheduled soon. As for this fight, the biggest question really is if Fulton can take Inoue's power punches which I believe will surely land in any rounds. It's 50/50 knowing how Fulton was surprisingly alive and was still kicking during his tough unification fight with Figueroa. Inoue though has the speed and timing which can catch Fulton unprepared for an incoming heavy punch. As for Fulton's capability of hurting Inoue, I doubt it. Fulton has a low KO ratio and hasn't even scored a single knockdown when he became a champion.
1629  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: March 18, 2023, 10:28:31 AM
It is absolutely crazy to me that half the people in this thread voted for Thurman to beat Spence.
This is going to be one of the biggest mismatches we've seen.
Thurman can't take body shots, he hates fighting at a fast pace and I don't think he can fight in the pocket particularly well.
I have researched this fight extensively and I can't see one way that Thurman beats Spence.
I think Spence stops Thurman in the 9th round.

You have to understand that some of the votes came from "personal reasons" disregarding the technical analysis.

It's not even crazy to think of since you can't blame people to ignore how strong Spence is knowing he's a big disappointment for some boxing enthusiasts for not having the courage to even push for the much-expected fight against Terence Crawford.

Moving forward though, I want to see the aftermath of this fight regardless of who will win. Lots of "what if" scenarios here that are worth to wait.
Yeah. Many will people vote according to what is in their hearts and not with what's in their minds. Also, Spence ducking Crawford for years now turned many fans into hatred and are wishing him to lose. I did vote for Spence KO/TKO as I don't see this current version of Thurman the same anymore before his accident wherein he went inactive for years and seems to lose his hunger and fire. But I also want Spence to lose here, TKO KO would be better. Cheesy But yeah, Spence will be too good. He might respect Thurman a little in the early rounds and will stick to his jab and fight smart and then once he can find the range and rhythm he will start to push forward and will take him out in the 2nd half. I even doubt Thurman hasz the stamina to go 12 rounds with Spence.
1630  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Future of play to earn games on: March 17, 2023, 05:03:14 PM
I believe that the future of gaming is shifting toward the P2E system. Although we better expect that the rewards are not comparable to having a regular salary. In order for P2E economies to strive, there is a need to balance their rewards. Maybe decent amounts are awarded weekly or monthly to the top players to make it enticing for their players.

In the last few weeks, I was looking for potential P2E games to play. I wonder if there are players of Five Stars and Karuta here? I also heard that the popular Summoners War: Chronicles will turn into a P2E soon.

Earlier, I have an investment in the card game Synergy of Serra because it is on Steam. I also invested at League of Ancients but it seems like it was a failure as the team never delivered according to its Roadmap.
1631  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Knowledge Of Bitcoin Is Better Than Speculating on: March 17, 2023, 04:42:50 PM
Of course, having knowledge of bitcoin is necessary especially when someone is planning to invest with a long-term target. Speculating is only for those that are actively trading bitcoin. But most traders are not just speculating but are also knowledgeable about bitcoin. Otherwise, it is like trading a highly volatile pump-and-dump altcoin which is only based on hype and speculations. Although I have to admit that in the past I also traded altcoins based only on their technicals and speculations as long their trading volume is high.
1632  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 17, 2023, 04:11:27 PM
So it seems like NBA legend Michael Jordan is finally willing to give up his majority ownership of the Charlotte Hornets. Serious talks are ongoing and I would like to see Jordan let go as the majority owner. The team has been failing to perform and is one of the weakest teams in the NBA for over a decade. Maybe the new majority owner can guide the team to success. Now that most NBA teams are capable of competing in the playoffs, the possible new majority owner should be willing to spend more especially since the team now has potential when healthy.

1633  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: March 17, 2023, 03:51:16 PM
Kamaru Usman is not in the best physical shape as his knees are killing him and even Usman confirmed the rumors he is walking down the steps backwards, but he claimed that it is his fashion and protecting his knee  Grin. Leon Edwards never lost a fight in UK in his career and his confidence is high. Not placing a bet on moneyline but rounds bet would be good.
That's bad news, I hope Kamaru Usman's physical condition is fine even though he reasoned that he didn't have knee problems during the fight, but Kamaru Usman realized that Edwards appeared confident in the second fight because he had beaten him before, I think Kamaru Usman will strengthen the defense for dodging kicks or hard punch attacks, I'm not on either side of the fighter but I like fighters who have the punching tricks to take down opponents to beat points from each previous round.
Earlier I was planning to bet on Kamaru Usman but after the weigh I am feeling hesitant. I felt like Usman at 1.39 favorite is a little overstated. Usman is trying to focus but deep inside he remembers that fateful head kick, every time he sees Edwards. Usman might once again control the fight early. It is up to Edwards if he losses his confidence once Usman starts tagging him or he will remain composed and hopes to repeat another KO win.

Meanwhile, I'm surprised Colby Covington was there. Dana should give him a fight ASAP. Cheesy
1634  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 17, 2023, 03:25:48 PM
And so WBC ordered a fight between Ugas and Barrios for the interim belt. Ugas is rank 2, while Barrios is rank 5. Thurman is rank 1 and will be fighting the champion in Spence, however it's 154 lbs.

So not sure why WBC ordered such fight for the interim belt, maybe they know that Spence will go up in weight if he wins against Thurman. On the other hand, Barrios has just like 2 fights in this division, lost to Thurman and then won against a unknown boxer. There is also rank 3 and 4 boxers in their organization, but they were bypass by Mario here, and then Ugas who did lost to Spence in his last fight.

In my case, I'm not also sure why these governing bodies keep on ordering such fights for the interim belts to have interim champs when in-fact they are not giving the champions a mandatory title defense especially in the welterweight. They should just focus on giving the existing champions a mandatory title defense because the division is already stacked up at the moment, we have lots of good boxers that is not yet given a chance to be a champion because they are just letting the title holders to keep the belts for a long time while ducking some fights. And now another fight for an interim belt? That's just nonsense, IMO.

This is common for the most corrupt sanctioning bodies in boxing, the WBA and WBC. They focus on monetary gains rather than imposing what is right. I feel like the WBC is riding PBC's dick and giving Spence that VIP treatment. Interims are supposed to be held only when the champion has a legit reason not to fight like an injury. Garbage Barrios is all of a sudden in the rankings in order to facilitate an all-PBC fight with Ugas which is easier to make rather than make deal with the non-PBC #4 Souleymane Cissokho. These sanctioning bodies are disrespecting the effort of other fighters that worked hard in order to climb the rankings. What a shame.
1635  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ POLL ] The Unification Fight: FURY vs USYK sponsored by Utopia on: March 17, 2023, 02:53:52 PM
Why do they not make a mandatory defense for Fury against Usyk? Fury cannot reject it and if he does the belts go to Usyk. I think that is the only way we will get this fight to happen because Fury does not want to sign the contract. Usyk is willing to fight for nothing and has pride. Fury is a joke and is not deserving of the belts if he does not want to fight the real challengers instead fight people past their prime.

The 4 major sanctioning bodies (WBA, WBC, IBF, and WBO) cannot include in their rankings the already world champions from the other major organizations. Maybe it can be agreed but it's been years now that these 4 sanctioning bodies tried to negotiate in creating an undisputed champion per division to no avail. An attempt to do that without a pre-approval from the other major sanctioning bodies can only spark a war just like the WBC vs WBO before and it will only stop future unification bouts.

Fury is not only trying to bluff Usyk with heavy demands but it is also trying to disrupt Usyk's training. Usyk is already training for weeks already and there were rumors that Fury is yet to set up his own training camp. Although Fury at times tried to post that he is training but most likely not the usual training when someone has a scheduled fight. And Fury probably needs more time here as I doubt he will come at the same weight when he fought Wilder, Whyte, or Chisora. Fury is a smart guy and he won't come that heavy against a speedster like Usyk. Fury will probably fight when he feels right and ready. He might cut off Usyk's camp as the Ukrainian cannot overtrain and needs to relax his body. And it looks like Fury will make Usyk inactive for a year.
1636  Economy / Economics / Re: Is there anything like Bitcoin savings? on: March 16, 2023, 06:32:48 AM
This is already possible. Exchanges and other crypto companies are accepting deposits with interest just like banks accept fiat deposits with interest. Interests may be too low although still a little higher compared to bank interests. But the difference is the insurance system, most banks have insurance for their depositors just in case they go bankrupt. The insurance may not be able to cover all your deposits since it depends from place to place. In my country, bank account insurance is around $10k. In crypto, I haven't heard of insurance to cover our deposits. Fiat interest from deposits though is not worth it IMO as it is not even enough to cover inflation and I would rather invest it in crypto and other potential assets.

But I am confident that in the near future, crypto insurance will happen. But take note that crypto deposits with insurance will be handled by centralized exchanges like banks so you cannot hold your own keys.
1637  Economy / Economics / Re: Lending money or damaging family bond ? on: March 16, 2023, 06:15:50 AM
It happened to me too. Not just once but a lot of times. Some of them borrowed money but never paid me back even a little portion of it. It's disappointing, the amount could be small or not but I felt like I am losing trust every time someone did it to me. It is not that I am rich because I am just living a simple life but I felt like I want to live far away from relatives and if possible without contacts, especially on social media. I understand that as relatives, we got to help each other but for me borrowing money is borrowing and it needs to be paid otherwise they should've just asked for some assistance and not borrowed money because if unpaid, it's already lying or a scam.
1638  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 16, 2023, 05:55:26 AM
So around 13 more games left before the regular season ends. These might be the best days to bet during the regular season on the games that involve from rank 4 to 13 in the west. Injuries are a sucker, Phoenix Suns is on a 3 game losing streak now and it is not that far from them falling below the top 8 as many teams are battling for a playoff spot. At Laker land, Lebron James can return but it may be too late if his team cannot hold its position. Personally, I would love to see Damian Lillard and the Utah Jazz inside the top 10.
1639  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: March 16, 2023, 05:24:59 AM
...Anyone though was surprised to see Leonard Ellerbe on the background? The guy with that white beard, he is Floyd's CEO and we all know that Davis didn't renew his contract with Floyd. But according to the news, he will be training at Floyd's gym in Las Vegas, so I guess everything is really cool between the two camps despite Davis no longer under Floyd. And I think it is a advantage for Tank, at least he has someone more experience behind him. And who knows, Floyd might drop to his own gym and still mentor Tank because this is the biggest fight of his career, both of them including Ryan. Goosen's training gym is in LA, so most likely Ryan will train there as he is from California.

So looking at boxing's top librarian Boxrec, Mayweather Promotions is part of this event along with GBP (Ryan Garcia's promoter). TGB is probably the lead promoter here since Brown is always in the middle during pictorials and is usually the promoter tabbed by most PBC events.

Tank probably remained a promotional-free agent like Canelo and is free to fight under any promotions. PBC is the real promoter anyways so if Tank has a managerial contract and wants to continue working with Al then he doesn't really need a promotional contract that will take a portion of his events profits.
1640  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ POLL ] The Unification Fight: FURY vs USYK sponsored by Utopia on: March 16, 2023, 04:38:56 AM
Well, after Fury's financial conditions were satisfied, and now he comes up with new excuses (the option of a rematch, which was originally included in the contract by Fury's team), does anyone else doubt that he is a cowardly piece of shit?
Guys, seriously, give me another version of why Fury is trying to avoid a fight  Roll Eyes
Usyk's team and Usyk himself are already openly mocking Fury's cowardice.

The funny thing is is that it was Tyson who requested the rematch clause and it could come back to bite him. If Tyson loses, especially on points, he will be begging for a rematch. Hopefully Usyk agrees but only if it's 80 / 20 in his favour or something  Grin. Personally I hope there's no rematch clause as we could end up seeing another trilogy holding the entire division up. If it's a good fight and both parties want a rematch then let them do it I guess but having it contractually obligated the loser is obviously going to want another chance to win their belts back but I'd prefer it if the winner just goes on to fight their other mandatories instead.

It's not funny, it's pathetic. Only the blind can't see Fury coming up with all sorts of excuses to avoid a fight. To be honest, I have already “let go” of this situation and I don’t care whether the fight will take place or not, as I already wrote, but the fact that some Fury fans pretend that “everything is fine and Fury didn’t put shit in his own pants” is a little surprising.

And yes, in an ideal world, I would like Usyk to win and offer Fury 5% or some fixed amount for a rematch with the words "bags are not worth more", but unfortunately we do not live in an ideal world. Sometimes third-rate athletes get world PR and recognition, even in football where you can’t shy away from opponents.
Boxing is full of casuals who can't even name some of its world champions. So it is not surprising to see a lot of them continue to praise and defend Tyson Fury and his antics.

And with regards to the possibility of Fury submitting another contract with a rematch clause should he lose the fight, the conditions of the split in the rematch will be written there too. So it's not like Usyk can also demand an 80% split if he gives Fury a rematch. So Fury can say 70% in this fight and maybe 65% in the rematch, Usyk can take it or not fight at all. I missed how boxing in the past where the best fights the best without any complications and heavy demands on each sides.
